Scam and rip off!

Got a letter today saying i am sole recipient for £490, 000, 000 some rubbish about jewelery and that i had to reply in 7 days and pay £19.95 for processing to hamilton moore & associates!

just recieved letter saying i have an unclaimed invetment of '£490, 000, 00, , all i need to do is send them £19.95, people like this should be reported to the police, or the goverment to bring in a law to stop this kind of thing happing

Why is it that these people are allowed to get away with scams like this. Surely they are in breach of the law and should be closed down. Thanks to all who posted some good ideas about returning the envelope with smelly bits in. I just loaded my envelope and sent it back with no stamp. Maybe the postal service will consider laying some kind of charge against them. B...ds

I'm rich, and they were desperate to contact me. All I9 have to do is pay £19.95 and give all my details and wait. I didn't even enter anything and Iam a winner, and I won jewellery and if I ask them I probably more good stuff as I'm so lucky and a winner, so I quit my day job and booked a holiday, lol

ive just got one through my letter box aswell god they must have some money if all of us have won 490, 00o every body should know if you have won anything and its not a scam then you wouldnt have to pay to get it i took my letter to police station incase this happens to an old woman or gentlemen who dont realise its a rip off its disgusting people struggle to live at the best of times without these people rippin us off it should, nt be allowed and there must be sumthing that can be done about it...

Thnk god I'm not stupid or despair. No-one could possibly expect a "winner" to pay for their winning cheque. However there are countless people in particular OAP'S who will look at this offer and think that it wold be great and be able to use the money for their grandchildren ( my mother almost got caught out). Would loved to hear from Mr Atchivara of Suffolk, who according to my letter had won recently.

Yes I've recieved one too. No wonder the world is in financial meltdown Hamilton Moore must have all the money in order to pay us each £490, 000. It is interesting too that Mr Atchivara of Suffolk only managed to win £2, 150 has he upset them everyone else seems entitled to the £490, 000.

Mr Hamilton in his letter also says he has been desperately trying to get hold of me. Well I have news for him the feeling is mutual and if I do I shall march him straight to the local police station. Judging by the number of posts on this site he not only needs convicting for fraud but for destorying a rain forest as well !

Hi i have also recieved a letter from this company saying i have won £490, 000.00 if i send them £19.95 or even worsr give them my card details, i think tgis is shocking as some people may believe this rubbish, i wish it were true i am getting married and would have loved the money but the internet was full ot stories about this, i hope no one falls for this especially vurnable people, i will send the letter back and ask for my cheque if they give me the money then i will give them there £19.00 lol i do not think they will agree to that.

Will write back, and tell them to send me the £499, 980.05, and we can forget about me sending them the £19.95... what are my chances of getting the cheque. Hate these scam companies... Well Richard, my wife has just recieved the same letter. Could not agree with your idea more. If she has won £490, 000:00, then why does she need to send them money, they can just keep what she apparently owes them. Infact I am going to be out of pocket, as she keeled over when she read that she had won such an amount, now I am going to have to take her to A&E.
Does anyone know of a source that such (so called) companies can be reported to ?
