I have $15, 000.00 porcelain veneers in my mouth. When a flatbread sandwich is toasted, it becomes too hard to chew, so that is the reason why I order it untoasted. Whenever I go into the Subway Sandwich Shop, I order the 6" flatbread sandwich cold. However, they always insist on toasting the sandwich refusing to serve me if I do not get it toasted.

I will not accept the sandwich toasted because I want it cold. I have been hassled once and refused service twice for this very reason. They should give the customer what he/she wants.
After all, we are paying for it. Am I the only one who these bad experiences happen to?

Here are the stores that insist on toasting it:

It's recommended that Subways flatbread gets toasted as it tastes like cardboard otherwise. Yes you can certainly choose to have it not toasted, but you're definitely taking away from the quality of the sandwich by doing so. Toasted is a poor description of this process anyways. The bread itself is simply being warmed slightly.

As for your veneers, I can't begin to think this would be an issue. If anything having it untoasted would make it harder to chew, not the other way around. Have you tried it toasted? I can't imagine you'd be asking to have it served that way if you experienced it as it is meant to be served.

Many don't like the flatbread at Subway. Much of the reason for this is they've been given the option of serving it untoasted in the first place & decided that if this option is provided, then it must still taste fine this way.
News flash...it doesn't. Personally I find it inedible & the following story illustrates that others feel the same way.

A number of years ago I ordered flatbread sandwiches for the entire baseball team between games at a tournament. I was give the responsibilty of grabbing food for us all & made the decision to bring everyone flatbread. What a disaster! I didn't realize at the time how important this was & ordered 10 of these. No one ate them.

I ended up complaining the following day & was told by the store manager that "they should have been toasted" & that "their staff would be reprimanded for failing to do so unless they had been prompted otherwise by the customer" & coupons for replacement were mailed out to myself.

Ever since I pay close attention when ordering flatbread at Subway. As a rule the staff always ask if "you want it heated" but then if you say no they will explain to you the sandwitch is best served heated. It's actually a pet peave of mine they do this. If the "sandwitch artist" would simply stop asking this initial question perhaps the flatbread would be more popular.

Now of course they'll be the odd person that prefers it untoasted. To each their own. Some put cheese on tuna subs(gross) or mayonaisse on pizza subs (what?) & they have every right to do so.

The biggest thing here is without doubt Subway is the slowest place to order from. We don't need to lengthen the time in line further by have staff ask rhetorical questions to then correct the customer should they provide the wrong answer & then spend further time explaining why this is.

Flatbread=toasted. Period.

I understand, it's a sandwich shop, he doesn't want his flatbread toasted, I eat cold pita bread and tortillas all the time. it's the same thing.

When a corporation puts these policies in place, it's for a reason! I'd imagine someone got sick from an untoasted flatbread. On a sidenote: the flatbread is softer when toasted . Your precious teeth will be fine. If you want your sub cold, just hold it for a few minutes. You seem pretty icy, I think it'd do the trick. Stay home, make your own food and get the ### over yourself. Dick.

They don't have to serve you at all. They don't want your business, go somewhere else.
