Lies and failed to return promised phone calls!
Complaint Rating: 91 % with 33 votes
After 22 months of making all my payments on time by car was involved in an accident and declared a total loss. My insurance company paid for all but 600 dollars. I contacted UACC immediately and although they said they would go to bat for me, negotiate a payoff and work with me on the balance it was all a lie. After they received the money from the insurance company they renigged and told me that UACC never negotiates a payoff or any other thing. They said this loses their high interest rate money. Although I diligently worked with them over a two month period to get the best payoff and maintained my payments they lied, could not remember conversations, and failed to return promised phone calls on at least 5 occasions. This is the most unscrupulous business I have ever encountered. They were working with a very good customer and said the reason they did not return phone calls was because they were understaffed and everyone kept calling in sick. They acted as if that was my problem.

Anyone else have a situation like this...

Heather Novak is a cunt! (Branch Manager at the Tacoma WA office ) Heather Novak is the worst manager I have ever came across. Heather Novak has no managment skills what so ever. Heather novak is a pathetic excuss for a person. Heather Novak is so full of lies, I don't even think she knows how to spell the word truth. Heather Novak is a complete idiot, how she got a job in management yet alone got a jod period is amazing.

United Auto Credit does not care about the employees or the customers, its all about the buttom line $$$$

Why don't all of you "You should pay your bills on time" ASSHOLES shut the fuck up. As stated plenty of times on this board. The payments were made on time and UACC still fucked it up and harassed people. Some of you asswipes use the "What if you loan someone money" example but don't seem to understand that if I loaned someone money, I wouldn't make them chase me all over the city to pay me. If the UACC workers defending this shitty company were doing their job instead of posting on this board some of us might have less headaches.

These people who are complaining are not idiots that bored sob who defended the company is wrong. Just because someone may have financial hardship or not as smart as the rest [who think they are smart] doesn't give them asses a right to defame them and threaten people for money they wouldnt stand up against the mafia. They just talk alot of crap behind the phone those cowards wouldn't say it to anyones face. I also made a complaint with the ftc cause their are business ethics and regulations that all businesses must follow. So go to business law school or something since you think you know. And for Monica its not my fault no man wants you don't need to take it out on me. Loser... God don't like ugliness so I'll continue to let you think you mean something and the mean time I changed my number waste your gas trying to find me now...LOSER

I applied for a job with UACC last week and after reading what a horrible employer they are, I do think I will even answer the phone if they call. I have heard about their ancient computer equiptment from the 1980's from someone who I know that works there. So thanks, I will keep looking for a job elsewhere. I worked for an auto lender until recently and am trying to stay in the same industry. I was laughing reading these comments, banks do not do loan originations and collections in the same offices anymore. Collections are done in a collection center by trained collectors. I cannot believe they have their employees knock on their "deadbeat" customers doors and leave business cards on their door. Is UACC trying to get their employees killed. This is 2008, not 1988. I am also sure that these employees are going into the worst areas of town to collect money from customers--Drug and Crime infested neighborhoods!

Hey UACC, get with the times. Get an up to date computer system and let professional collectors and repo agents who carry guns collect money from the "deadbeats". Do not put your employees lives in danger by sending them collecting money in the "ghetto" neighborhoods!!!

The fact is, yea... some customers are dead beats, some people actually have an honest reason. Unfortunately, companies may have shity employees. The question is what have we done to change any of this and move on to bigger and better things. Yea this company sucks. ( former employee) In any successful business, there must be an understanding that people come first, that is the investment, whether it is the consumer or the employee. Yea the economy is not what it should be. It is what it is. In order for this company to survive, they need to instill values that are realistic, and honest. We the people for the people. Need to reorganize, possibly look at a new marketing team ( if there even is one), strategy... although this is a sub-prime market... It's not easy. The consumers that any sub-prime lender markets after, both business and consumer (as a society) have to realize both work hand in hand. Yea the interest is high, the company takes a risk, unfortunately this country measures a persons worth by a credit/ fico score. The market(consumers) either have no credit and just starting... or something happened either a life changing experience.. or irresponsibility. I believe a new strategy... implement training to all employees to be professional and have a positive attitude, and most importantly give them the tools to succeed..example bring it to todays technology, offer and implement training to allow your employees to be the best .Also, focus on the market... the company is aware of the risk ... so prevention... educate your consumers how to build/ reestablish their credit to prepare consumers, offer options, ex: www.truecredit.com, refer to or even offer in office/pamplet a mini session with customers to suggest how to manage their finances... so we can help out with this economy... I feel we as a community deserve that. Also, the company should think about the idea of a prime market, so after consumers are ready and worked hard to build their credit, they can have better options... keep the relationship of your customers- so that it will be a long lasting relationship... That is what will make this company different than all the others. There are not enough choices... We are supposed to be in the best country in the world. People are dying for our freedom... companies should break their backs to be successful while doing something productive, educate your investment, then give them options (no credit leads to no home to no car to no job, to no money to pay for anything or even an education to get into a better, healthy lifestyle... it can go on forever)

In response to N.n. Maybe in your situation it was pleasant at your branch... however, not all branches are the same... And you are lucky that you haven't experienced any thing horrid... Unfortunately it does and has happened. I personally had a horrible experience professionally, and witness to a lot of things that we will say " needs improvement". You can do an experiment for me... I want you to become delinquent for lets say just 5 days, mail it on the 5th day and do not answer their phone calls or tell them you mailed it. I guarantee, by the 5th day. you would have received at least 15 calls all times of the day, including at your jobs, your relatives, and your neighbors, and then you will also get a home/ work visit from a collector. Do that about 3 times and see if your vehicle gets repoed... and lets see how polite these people who you say are so polite and pleasant. The people that are complaining here and I say People because they are human, they realize they are past due... but its the attitude and the anger that employees are projecting towards the consumer. When, the employee should educate advised what happens if this continues, and give them the options and tools, and if all else fails. there is nothing you can do about it, yelling and harrassing the customer will not make it better.

As far as employees, where is the employee appreciation...first off you keep the duds and got rid of me :).

I have had my car with them for 6 months now. I have yet to receive a payment book or a statement from them. I have made several...I mean...SEVERAL phone calls, the last one I got the response "We have sent this out 3 times" I was like...ok where's it at then??? I was one day late once, and they started calling EVERYONE they could trying to get ahold of me. I must say however, the guy that handled my late payment was pretty nice and changed my due date...but I still wish I could get that statement!!!

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth. I have had my car loan through UACC for nearly 11 months now and have never had anything other than wonderful customer service. I, however, have made my payments on time every single month. Never even 1 day late. When the loan was originated, and the payment due date was decided on, I was even told that if I could not make it into the office by closing time on the day it was due, as long as it was in the drop box that night, the payment would not be considered "late". And when I have had to work late, I have relied on this option a couple of times and I have never received one phone call to the contrary. Oh, and just for the record, I am not now, not have I ever been employed by this company. Because of poor choices in the past, my credit history was not shameful, but shaky enough that this was my only option at the time. I would like to state that they have reported to the credit bureaus of my perfect payment history and it has opened up doors to me for financing future vehicles with, shall we say, more legitimate/reputable lenders. For this, I am grateful. Just in all the postings I have read here, it seems to me the angriest and loudest complainers are usually the ones who start out the sentence "I was only 1/5/10 days late..." Guess what folks? Those people out there that have great and perfect credit have NEVER been late, EVER. I realize that life happens whether you expect it or not. But you have to have accountability. My poor choices of the past were just that -- MY choices. So admit to your own bad choices and accept that for the most part, those choices are why you are where you are at.

I have been with United Auto Credit for 3 years. When I lost my job last July07 I started paying about 20days late, and you all are right, after the due date the calls begin even when they have a good contact number on you they start to call all of your references. Not to mention they put inquiry hits on your credit report claiming that when you don't answer they check your credit to see if your information is still current. That really pissed me off and the credit bureaus will let them do it, sometimes 2-3 times in a month, bringing down my credit score. Now I couldn't even refinance if I tried, which I have and was denied. Never being 30days late so they could not report any late payments to my credit report until this last month. I've been out of town for two months so it was hard to drop off my payment and of course they would not take my check payment over the phone stating that their system was down and asked if I could make the payment with my credit card which is a no no. So they can accidentally take additional payments in the future...Hell no. They harass my mother, coming to her house with the sheriff, to find out later that it was just a repo man. Like I said I have never been over 30ays late until last month. Oh and did I mention that when you fall two months behind and try to pay them at least one payment they refuse to take anything. I too have reported them and nothing has been done. I even tried to see if consumers could get together and start some type of Class Action Lawsuit against them. They have to be using unlawful practices.

Look i purchased my car for $10, 500. so far i've made 40 payment at 320 a payment totaling 12, 800. I was late last month because i was suffering from meningitis. United a55wholes Corp calls everyone even my job and tells them i was late and they where looking for my car to repo it... "My job UACC, thats plain old wrong. Especially when after paying this car off id have paid uacc $23, 040." Which means they would have made 12, 540. come to thank of it more than the price of the car itself, and is this how they treat customers.

My experience with them hasnt been horrible but I've paid everything early. I knew that it wasn't a good company before I signed the contract. Being a first time buyer w/ little credit history it was my only option. I take my check directly to them because I have heard stories of them losing payments. I dont want my credit to go to hell. So as soon as I can refinance I will.

The thing that bugs the hell out of me is the 23% intrest rate. I had credit history but no one would give me a loan. It is messed up how young people get put into a high risk category. Yeah a lot of young people do mess up their credit at a young age. Why should all young people pay for this mistake though. I am getting raped by this company even though I pay my bills. My truck isnt worth what I will end up paying for it. I can't wait to be thru the hazing of the f_cking credit industry so I can begin to get the respect I deserve for paying my bills on time.

The dealerships you go to, have special relationships with Uacc... kickbacks... " make a deal work"
Find your own financing... do not let a dealership tell you that b.s. educate yourself... find out where your credit stands... truecredit.com... work on it ...

I have had multiple car loans throughout my life, all of them through reputable institutions. Except for this time. I always had excellent credit(in the high 700's) until my divorce as well. I drove my car until it literally fell apart, I was complaining to my ex about the trunk being held down by a bungee cord, the calipers on the back tires sticking, and the transmission slipping. He knows a high end car dealership owner, tells me to go there, they run my credit, then let me take a new 2008 car home for the weekend because it was getting late, and tell me that the paperwork will be ready on Monday or Tuesday (holiday weekend). On Monday, the finance manager calls me and tells me that the only place they can finance me through is a place called United Auto Credit, she tells me that she has never heard of the company before, but that a person from the loan company's Pittsburgh office stopped in to drum up business, she tells me that my credit wasn't as good as they originally believed, and that I can only finance a car for up to $10, 000. The finance manager then tells me how this company is a 'godsend' and that she was worried about getting me financed. AFTER THEY GAVE ME A CAR TO TAKE HOME FOR THE WEEKEND! Car dealerships do not do that for people with poor credit. She asks me to bring the car back so that they can give me the car that they financed for me, and I have to say this... the salesman, not the finance manager, discounted the hell out of the car that I they gave me, I don't know if he knew that something wasn't right (she was only on the job for a week, and I was supposed to go through the finance manager at one of the other locations) or what, but he talked to the owner, Richard, and discounted my 2005, completely decked out, Monte Carlo SS to less than 9000, then threw in tax, title, transfer and sales tax, to get me in at under $10, 000. The finance manager no longer works there, and the dealership will no longer work with UACC. But, that doesn't help me now. I was reading all of the posts about how stupid all of us lendees are, they are right, finance managers get kickbacks for giving loan corps business, and we believe what the finance managers tell us without researching other options, My credit score is over 620, that means that I qualify for a loan under 23fucking%. But I believed the finance manager when she told me that I had poor credit. So, these employees who are laughing at us customers (who, by the way, will probably be out of a job within 6 months) (how much DO you make by the way? $11.00 an hour, $12.00? that is hysterical, loser), know that they are asinine, but are pathetically attempting to defend themselves and their actions. and yes losers, I am using correct punctuation, My I.Q. is tested at genius level. So please call me stupid again while hitting your bong(or did I peg that wrong, are you more of a coke whore). I work in collections for a VERY large corporation, and if I ever talked to a customer the way that I have been talked to by UACC, with them showing up at my house, I would lose my job. WIth that being said... My ex lost his job, I was diagnosed with cancer, and I lost my child support. I am on half schedule right now, so I have learned to BUDGET my money differently. I was home sick today after a chemo treatment when I get a knock on the door, I am 8 days late with my payment because of the BUDGETING that I mentioned earlier, My car payment is now BUDGETED out of my second paycheck of the month. I receive a knock on the door telling me that I need to call a person in Michigan about my car payment. The guy seemed decent enough and my ex mother in law made my payment for me today, I will pay her on Friday. But all of the other lenders that lend at sub-prime rates do NOT treat their customers like this. And, to all of you UACC employees who have the audacity post to this website, NAME ONE COMPANY THAT HARRASSES THEIR CUSTOMERS AT 1 DAY LATE BEFORE YOU START SPOUTING YES-MEN DRIVEL.
62 days ago by Jessica [send email]
I completely disagree with all of the above remarks. After working for this company for over a year, I have realized one thing. The customers are the worst. UACC is a SUB-prime company for a reason. They lend to those who cannot get their own financing from their bank, credit union, ect. because they already have bad/horrible credit. You all whine and whine about UACC when they were the ONLY ones that would lend you the money for your vehicle. The excuses are the same every month. The contracts are all VERY clear. You signed the contract, on your own will. I personally bought a car w/in my means. If I were to loose my job, I could still afford my car, just by doing stupid work within the community. I thought ahead and paid my bills on time. This is unlike most (but not all, don't get me wrong there are some great customers who do pay on time) customers at UACC.

Jessica, you are the most ridiculous excuse for a human being. I want you to lose your job, get a terminal illness and lose everything, then be shipped off to a 3rd world country. Survive then, you will not make it, you will not survive, you are weak, you have no empathy. You take your job way to seriously. What have you done in your life to deserve to live. Keep standing on your knees... lets see how much this company appreciates you. Jessica, I don't know what your position is there, obviously not far, because you are insanely dillusional... You just talk out of your ass... Subprime is not about the people and where they come from or education level... Educate, educate, educate... YOU IDIOTS just look at the problem and do not have a solution.. you just talk out of your ass... You have never had a hardship in your life. A contract, does not condone harassment. And consumers are blind.. and we have to empower ourselves to push forward to learn ... dealerships pay money to lenders as an incentive to do loans with them...
drive, capital one, hsbc, americredit, charge anywhere from 3 grand to a dealership... Now the reason why they push for United auto credit because they charge from 750.00 ... so as a buisness perspective what do you think? Now, for LW comments. Stay positive healthy and keep moving forward ... you can beat the cancer...
61 days ago by Sc [send email]
one more thing Jessica... if you are so keen as you portray ... why are u bitchin about how aweful the customers are... its your damm companys fault for hiring dumb ass assistant branch manager branch manger and so forth to buy paper... they are the god damm idiots making horrible fucking decisions... IT'S LIKE... HMM.. THIS PERSON HAS HAD A BANKRUPTCY BEFORE .. AND WE HAVE THE LETTER FROM THE JUDGE STATING OK FOR THIS PERSON TO BUY ANOTHER CAR... AND THIS HAPPENDED 2 YEARS AGO...HELLO YOU FUCKING IDIOTS... SO DONT BITCH ABOUT IT... BE ABOUT IT...
DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS YOUR SUPPOSED TO WEED PEOPLE OUT... FROM A COPORATE PERSPECTIVE.
