Unauthorized charges!
Complaint Rating: 97 % with 213 votes
Company information:
Wu-Yi Source Tea
Moreno Valley, Arkansas
United States

I ordered the tea and was charged 37.00 for a 60 day supply. Which was fine since I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning. However, even after I called and canceled there was a charge of 19.95 on my credit card. This was not authorized plus they did it after I had canceled and had paid the 37.00 dollars. This is ridiculous. They do not disclose this initially. If they had said that this "miracle" tea was going to cost 56.95 I would never had ordered it. Plus. they were sneaky about it. Instead of the charge showing up as a payment to Wu-Yi Source it showed up as a payment to Living Lean/Las Vegas Nevada.

Stay away from this if you want to save yourself a headache and time on the phone trying to reason with these unscrupulous people.

...IMPORTANT!! DO NOT CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD...IT EFFECTS YOUR CREDIT BADLY. CALL YOUR BANK AND ASK FOR REPLACEMENT WITH NEW NUMBERS...WUI TEA CAN'T CHARGE YOU ANY LONGER !!!

I had been billed $19.95 on my credit card for three months in a row, after cancelling any orders made and returning the shipment of 4 boxes of tea. I called my bank today to enlist their assistance in stopping these payments (it is a bank-issued Visa debit card) and the bank officer offered to make a conference call to the Living Lean Las Vegas number (1-866-396-5711) with me. We had to wait about 7-10 min on hold to talk to a supervisor, but were finally connected and they agreed to refund all three payments. I am changing the number of my debit card, so that no further charges related to this or any other Wu-Yi connected source can be made. I will wait to see if the refund payments actually are received, but this seemed to be an effective way to deal with the charges.

I had a similar experience in that I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning the unused portion of the trial package and had to eat the $29.99 charge. I didn't have any issues in cancelling the tea or that weird living lean thing that comes with it. Perhaps they are being careful with non-US residents, because I live in Canada, but my card has been free of any unauthorized charges so far...

This is horrible!!! I just saw a charge on my account for $19.95 for lw/living lean las vegas NV. I had no idea what that was so I called my bank. No information came into the bank besides what I saw from my online account. So I googled living lean and found this site. I called Living lean, they refunded only one charge of two. I asked them what is this?? Answered as some kind of weight loss site, which is probably not real anyway. They could not send me a confirmation email about canceling but did send an email about a refund confirmation for one fee. On the third phone call to them they told me that the refund email is the same as a canceling email under this agreement. We will see. Unfortunately I did not pay attention last month and I was charged $19.95, which resulted in an overdraft fee of $31 to my account. They did nothing. I called the bank, which informed me if I cancel my card I could still receive refunds; they just can’t take anything out, so I canceled it to prevent any more unauthorized charges. Going to the bank tomorrow to dispute the other charge and overdraft fee. I then decided to read the terms and conditions on Wu-Yi source tea website. In the fine print about half way down I found this gem:

“For so long as your Membership remains active, the Monthly Fee will accrue on the first of each new month, and you will be required to pay the Monthly Fee for that month’s membership. You hereby authorize Wu-Yi Source™ (or its partners, affiliates and/or agents) to charge your Active Credit Card all such fees associated with Membership on a monthly basis. You acknowledge and agree that Wu-Yi Source™ will not obtain additional authorization from you for each installment of Monthly Fees charged to your Active Credit Card. All Monthly Fees are payable in United States currency. Failure to use the Products received does not constitute a basis for refusing to pay any of the associated charges. You agree to be bound by the pricing and billing practices of Wu-Yi Source™ in effect at any given time. Upon prior written notice to you (with e-mail sufficing), Wu-Yi Source™ reserves the right to change its pricing and/or billing practices whenever necessary, in its sole discretion. If you do not agree with these changes, you may cancel your Membership at any time, but you will remain responsible for timely payment of any and all Monthly Fees that you have already incurred (including any applicable late fees). Continued acceptance of Online Products and use of Membership after receipt of such notice shall constitute consent to any and all such changes.”

So does this mean they can give your number to any site they feel like sharing it with and you getting all kinds of products and subscription fees?? Looks like it might be a must to cancel any card number given to these trustworthy people who state on the site in their own words “Beware! of Scam Weight-Loss Solutions”!!! I really like the one sentence saying failure to use the products received does not constitute a basis for refusing to pay any of the associated charges, so what could they not charge you for? I thought I was just getting a membership fee for tea and not whatever they could dream up. I thought that membership in the terms and conditions for the site meant only for the tea site, what do they consider it to be? Lesson learned no more free trails for anything ever again!!

Thank goodness I thought about getting more information about this company BEFORE I ordered. I don't have that kind of money just to "give away".

I would like to cancel my order and please do not charge my account again. I am on diability and limited income, I receive one check a month and now a big chunk is gone. I've been drinking this tea every day and hve not lost anything except my money.

Oh I wish I had seen all these complaints before I had the same horrible experience. Would encourage anyone and everyone to STAY AWAY from wu yi source and living lean las vegas. They are scammers, charge hidden charges, trick people, and use any tactic they can to rip people off. PROTEST THESE COMANIES PLEASE!!!

I was looking at both the Living Lean and Wu-Yi Tea charges on my statement and since I had never personally signed up for the Living Lean I was extremely confused as to where it came from. Seeing the Nevada on both and then looking it up on this website showed me that the order of Wu-Yi Tea that I tried to cancel less than 24 hours after ordering itwas the reason for this mystery purchase.

I got my credit card reps on the phone and they helped me get rid of both charges in less than half an hour. I think that it might have been so quick because of their poor rating on the Better Business Bureau they've gotten in the past. They'd rather bend their policy if you have your bank or credit card rep on the phone than risk pissing them off too.

Ordering this crap was a bad decision, I'm mad at myself for ordering it in the first place, even though in the end I was only scammed out of $7. I will be keeping a close eye on any charges related to them in the future!

Wu-YiSource.com (formerly wulongsource.com, also operating websites at oprahsdietsecret.com, myeasyweightlosstea.com, wu-yitea.free-trialoffers.com, and possibly others) is owned and operated by a man named Jesse Willms (he sometimes spells it Jesse Williams).

Mr. Willms' company states its headquartered and located in Las Vegas, Nevada, but to date, that cannot be confirmed. The company also has an office in Billings, Montana and Ontario, California which in actuality, are P.O. Boxes located in storefronts as drops for returned tea. To our knowledge, Mr. Willms lives in Canada.

Another Jesse Willms company, eDirectSoftware, has been sued by both Microsoft and Symantec for selling stolen and/or pirated software. He appeared in court along with other Willm family members in Alberta, Canada.

See http://www.billingsgazette.net/articles/2007/04/05 This story reports that eDirect and Willms unlawfully sold Microsoft software smuggled from Jordan and other companies. Willms settled out of court with Microsoft for an excess of $1 million dollars.

Willms company experienced a similar lawsuit with Symantec - http://www.cbc.ca/news/story/2007/05/16/tech-syman

Mr. Willms is known to operate a variety of websites or companies, many of which are now defunct. An online search will present:
"TV on your computer company, " tvtopcdirect (defunct) (see reviews at http://satellitetvcommission.com/satellite-tv-on-p money from home on the internet" company called Profit Stream Pro (http://profitstreampro.com/). A search for "Jesse Willms" and "scam" reveals a host of issues -- http://www.google.com/search?q=%22jesse+willms%22+

Yes, we have been scammed and this person should only be described as an international criminal. Contact your State Attorney General's office and file a complaint about the funds you have lost to Wu-Yi Source. Also contact the U. S. Department of Justice, Internet Commerce.

Mr. Willms needs to be stopped. They are raking in millions of dollars in the U.S., Canada, and U.K.

I had to finally cancel my credit card to stop them from taking more money from me. Consider doing the same.

I just got through chatting on line with "Maddy". I had 2 unauthorized debits from my account for Living Lean in Nevada. I never signed or authorized anything from this site. I also was billed $29.95 plus shipping 2 weeks ago for more tea which to this date I have yet to receive. I tried to cancel both the tea & Living lean today but am doubtful this will be the end of the charges! Very misleading and conniving. I wish I had read all the bad comments before subscribing to it. If it's to good to be true it probably isn't! I just learned that the hard way!

I called today to cancel and a woman by the name of Mamcy I think told me to call another number and I said I wanted to talk to someone else because I could not understand her. She immediately said she would cancel my order. We will see. I also said I had 4 months of the tea to return and she said OK. When I asked her where to send it she said the information would be on my next billing statement. That sounds to me that there will be another shipment. This has been a real nightmare and I will never order another thing from the TV. I am on social security and I cannot afford to be taken advantage of. Shame on these people. The number I called was 1-866-396-5711.

I was, I believe, successful in getting this tar-baby off of my credit card. I went into a branch of the bank that issued the card and asked if they could help me. The person helping me was told that the $54 amount was for the tea shipments and that the $19.95 amount was for online recipes that got glommed onto the order when I first signed up.

I was given an confirmation of cancellation of both. Hopefully, that is the end of it.

The next step, if they show up again, is to notify VISA and say that the card has been "compromised" and that I want a new number and card.

I hope this works for everyone.

I bought the free trial and then they charged my card $29.95. I called my bank immediately and disputed the charge and then Wu Yi source sent me a note refunding the entire amount. In the meantime, the extra 3 boxes of tea were delivered. So I got my $ back for tea I never ordered and got the tea. I guess you can say I got back at them for all of you! :-) Next time try calling your bank and have them fight the battle for you...you might get lucky!

So far this tea is working for me. I have order twice for 9 boxes at a time for first time, then nine again. I love this tea and I lost couple of pounds too. I am so sorry someone had a bad experience. All my friends are asking me to order for them too. I will be ordering more for family and friends.

Hi everyone,
not sure if this is going to be relevant or not, but I just came across this site and wanted to contribute, I hope it might be helpful.
I e-mailed Wu-Yi and told them I wanted to cancel my order, like it says on the website I can do - hassle free. I stopped receiving my tea shipment, but then was still billed on my credit card! i went to the webstie again and talked to an agent on the online instant messager. The agent was actually really helpful. He cancelled my order, and credited the last charges back onto my card. He gave me a cancellation number as well.
As far as Living Fit - well that is just a ridiculous rip off! I didn't even know I had been signed up for it till charges started showing up on my credit card! I called the number given and got no answer. When I contacted the Wu-Yi site about it however, they gave me an entirely different phone number to call!
I contacted this new number and after about 10 minutes of a very hard to understand conversation, my 'membership' was cancelled and I was given a cancellation number. I am now waiting to make sure that no further charges appear on my credit card. The number they gave me was 1-866-396-5711.
I hope this helps some of you, but I am definately in agreeance with everyone that the whole thing is a rip-off and I am not impressed!

I agree with everyone here, they are scam artists. I liked the original tea that I go on the free trial...didn't make me lose weight, but I thought it tasted good. I got another shipment back in May and called them immediatly to cancel. The packaging was completely different and on the box it read Apple extract. I brewed one pot and the taste was completely different as well, very bitter and nasty tasting. When I complained to customer service, the man I spoke with swore that this was the same exact tea but that they had changed the packaging and the blend just a little. That was a blatant lie. He gave me an RA number to return it, but I had already opened one of the 3 packages and thrown away the mailing box it had come in so I figured I would just find someone who liked it and give it away. In the meantime, I got hit with a $29.95 charge for the tea and then another $19.95 for the Live Life Lean subscription. Now I am trying to get rid of the fee for the subscription I did not order (once the free trial ended, I stopped getting any emails or updates from them), so what the heck am I supposed to be paying for right?
