Wu-Yi Source Tea

Unauthorized charges!
Complaint Rating: 97 % with 192 votes
Company information:
Wu-Yi Source Tea
Moreno Valley, Arkansas
United States

I ordered the tea and was charged 37.00 for a 60 day supply. Which was fine since I didn't want to go through the trouble of returning. However, even after I called and canceled there was a charge of 19.95 on my credit card. This was not authorized plus they did it after I had canceled and had paid the 37.00 dollars. This is ridiculous. They do not disclose this initially. If they had said that this "miracle" tea was going to cost 56.95 I would never had ordered it. Plus. they were sneaky about it. Instead of the charge showing up as a payment to Wu-Yi Source it showed up as a payment to Living Lean/Las Vegas Nevada.

Stay away from this if you want to save yourself a headache and time on the phone trying to reason with these unscrupulous people.

IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL:
It all happened to me too. This company is making millions on bogus charges and unreturned or uncanceled memberships. They make it almost impossible.
However, I did send the package back as requested after I called the customer service number and got a prompt refund. When I finally realized I'd been charged $19.95 for the past three months, I contacted the Wu-Yi site buy live chat. I threatened legal action, called them criminals, told them I was never aware of any Living Lean membership. Olivia gave me the Living Lean number - 866-396-5711. I called it and demanded a refund. When the operator only offered a one month refund, I said no, I want to speak to a supervisor. A woman named Rose was connected and she issued two months refund. I had to be very adamant, demanding and unwavering in my determination though. I would not accept their no answers to my requests. I then kept chatting with Olivia at Wu-Yi and told her I needed the third month refunded by them. She then said she would call Living Lean on my behalf and get the third charge refunded. I have been told to expect all refunds to my bank account within a week. So, we'll see how it ends - I'll let you know. My advice - Call them and don't give up!!!

I am not a Wu-Yi customer but they made me one. Somehow my old email address was compromised and a credit card of mine was used to purchase their product. The product was sent to an address where I do not reside. I found out about numerous charges made to my credit card through my bank when it was registering in the negative. I called my bank and they gave me the particlars on who and where these charges wer coming from. I contact the company and yes they refunded my charges but they seem to forget that bank overdraft fees are applied once your protection is overwhelmed by many more charges that are coming through. I have $55.00 in over draft fees that they are not taking responsibility for so I am letting people know that yes they fixed part of the problem but what they really did was cause a much bigger one. I have since cancelled my atm/debit card and now am juggling bills because I am on a fixed income and they took something that was'nt theirs. I want my Bank charges refunded. Do you hear me Wu-Yi Tea people.Oh and by the way they don't have enough courtesy to have a live person talk with you. Whatever this company is they are not to be praised for anything they do. You are hurting peoples lives.

I too have been scammed by wu-yi tea people. I ordered the trial for 6.95 and tried to cancel before the 14 day period and could not get a live rep on the phone to cancel, and then my card was billed 34.95 a week before I received the next box of tea, which by the way tastes disgusting. I dont believe it aids in any weightloss at all like they claim. I cannot get onto Teahelp@usa.com. cant seem to get into this website. I also sent email right after I was billed 34.95 asking for a refund and got no response. I probably will not get my money back until I dispute with visa, and now will have to cancel my card, so they will not take out any more funds. I too will report them to BBB, These people should not even be allowed to do business. They are definitely scamming us innocent folks. Laurie

I thank you all for your comments. I was almost a robbed. What saved me is I don't have a credit card.

i too have been ripped off by wu-yi tea & living lean. i have disputed my credit card charges & in order not to be charged any more; have cancelled that card # & had a new one issued. you may want to try this. at least you can stop future charges.

I am also in the process of canceling this stupid tea and no one wants to listen to me. The live operators keep telling me that their computers are down and to try again later. They can't even speak English. They keep asking me for an account number, which the shipments NEVER come with like other professional companies. I don't even get a statement with the charges. I canceled last month via email, and just received a third unwanted shipment. Now they are telling me that I must cancel in writing! I keep warning friends and family to STAY AWAY FROM WU-YI TEA, IT'S A SCAM!!!

I too got taken by this rip-off company! I'm sorry for all of you who had the same experience . I'm planning on reporting this to the BBB on Monday. I had ordered the tea last Sunday, then found out right after that through a little "too late" research that the company was a fraudulent one. I immediately called the number on their website and spoke with a seemingly nice gentleman and told him that I was cancelling my order. He said that it would be cancelled, then much to my surprise, I received the tea five days later at my doorstep. Learn the lesson I learned in all this---do your research BEFORE you purchase on line! I hope it gets resolved for all of you above, and that Karma comes and puts this scam artist company away!

P.S...I know that most of us work very hard for the dollars we spend, so it's a shame that a "business" could be so calloused and unprofessional. I have put a block on my card and will cancel it 1st thing Monday, then go about disputing any charges. As for sending it back and getting a refund, not sure it's worth the time and effort. Good luck to all of you!

I, too, have been taken by this company. Not only have I been charged repeatedly, but two charges at a time have appeared. I have only a debit card that has lots of automatic debits so it will cause many problems with my bills. What to do? I have talked by e-mail with teahelp.com several times; they are not Americans, I can tell you that. Their English is very poor and they just keep saying the same things over and over, but not ever answering my questions or solving my problems. I did get Living Lean cancelled, or at least for the time being. So far I have been charged $19.95 once. From what I am reading here, that might not be the end of them.

I just don't understand how these crooks can continue in business. Isn't there anything that can be done to put an end to this?

Like everyone in these complaints ...done in a weak moment believing their crap about a tea that will make you slim...I tried to cancel as I was filling out their Free application..it just gobbled up my information...within 2 days the tea arrived at my rural address in far off New Zealand... I tried to send back..but it came back to me..so then I accepted I'll just have to pay the $37.50 not that I had ant real choice the money was out of my account as the tea arrived 2 days later... I wrote to " Mark' support @gmail .com telling them they were a ripoff and to cancel I have never recieved any further product but I now discover I am being billed $19.95 every month since febuary...
I have tried to stop payments but am still being billed...I am totally frustrated that this can happen unabated it is theft and I am at a loss as to how to prevent any further payments going out of my account...People beware do not partake in any of these so called "free trial offers" It is decietful marketing these people should pay back the money they have stolen. I have had $NZ153.97 taken from my account for nothing. This is outrageous...

Yes, they billed my credit card on the first of the month for 19.95 under the name of livin lean and then billed it for 54.95 under the WU-YISOURCE name. This being done after several calls and emails to cancel. Its now time to contact the NV District Attorneys office.

This whole Wu-Yi situation is a complete scam. They get you hooked by offering you FREE tea and providing 60 tea bags. You pay the shipping and handling ($4.95), all for a 14 day trial. After returning ALL the tea except ONE tea bag via First Class Mail, I have yet to be reimbursed for the purchase.

I have called on numerous occasions with the receipt number by the Post Office, all to no avail. WU-YI has charged me $29.95 and I have received no satisfaction of the product or refund. After 21 days, I found a charge to Living Lean in Las Vegas for $19.95 that was interelated to the WU-YI purchase. I called their number (1-866-396-5711) to cancel their service. A gentleman there was able to cancel my account with them, issue a refund and get a confirmation number.

Please be wary from purchasing from this company.

Sincerely,
Sharon/CA

I just got finished chatting w/rep on-line and after several questions...the chat ended with them. I had to start over and the same person came on-line. I told him "that sucks...you cut me off". Of course, he decied it. The big thing he said was that after shipping my first 3-month supply...I was billed/taken from cc 34.90 and the next installment would be 429.95. I was in shock. I kept asking about this but he avoided my question. I then told him to cancel my acct. I will return the full 3-month supply. I don't think it works either. Because if you excercise, eat right, etc. the tea is not doing the trick...YOU ARE DOING IT. VERY UNHAPPY EXPERIENCE.

Wu Yi Tea made great promotional claims but it was all a lie. Their tea tastes awful and did nothing to curb my appetite or help me lose weight. That would be bad enough, but after I emailed them and telephoned them several times to stop them from sending any more of their terrible product, they continued to federal express me more shipmenst and charge me for the service. I have never been involved with such a rip off company. How do we get them closed down?
85 days ago by Gloria Clark [send email]
They did the same thing to me. I thought $4.95 was all I was going to have to pay. Then when I received my credit card statement there was a $29.95 charge from WuYi Tea, another one for $34.90 and yet another one from living lean for $19.95. These people are crooks and something really needs to be done about them. Their website needs to be permanently shut down and if I knew how to proceed to do that I definately would.
