Complaint Rating: 96 % with 222 votes
I thought i was signing up for a free credit report and now for 3 months they have been charging my bank account almost $20.00. I do not use it and feel I should get my money back. I cannot even find a phone number or even a contact me or an e-mail. I do not have the money for it and I do not even use it. Like i said i thought i was getting my one time free credit report.

Beware!

Anyone that "signs up for a FREE credit report online", and enters their credit card information... then does not read the fine print before checking the "I Agree" box, then complains when they get charges on their credit card is an IDIOT!!! If you read the fine print you would know why they were asking for your credit card information for something that's "free" in the first place. You would have read that if you do not call to cancel within a certain period of time you would be charged. I do not work for this company, but I have used their services. When I no longer wanted the services I called to cancel with no problem at all. I just get really annoyed at the general stupidity of the American public. Read the fine print if you are going to be sending your credit card information via the internet to a company advertising something for free. If you don't and then get charged, that is your own fault.

In April 2007, I went on line to request a free credit report.I, in no way requested membership, only a free credit report. For the past 2 months, CIC TRIPLE Advantage HAS deducted 12.95 from my visa account, without authorization.

Freecreditreport.com is a scam. To the person who asked why someone would enter their credit card information on a web site that is supposed to give you a free credit report: How else would you expect someone to look up your credit score... without providing them your credit information?

I called to cancel and they did agree to cancel me. I let them know I never signed up for anything for which I had to pay and they pulled the 'old fine print game on me. Why didn't I receive an invoice from them then? For every single purchase I have ever made, whether in person or through the Internet, I have received an invoice or receipt. I never received an invoice or receipt showing my charges to CIC Triple Advantage. The only way I noticed it was through my credit card statement.

To be honest I didn't even try to get my money back through them, that seems like it would be impossible. The person on the line was a schister/scammer/scum. She wouldn't cancel me - it was worse than cancelling AOL. I said 4 times can I cancel through you or do I need to talk to someone else? I also said 4 times, I'm not interested in credit scores I just need to cancel. In fact, I used the word "cancel" 15 times during the 7 minute conversation. At the end I asked if I would receive confirmation of the cancellation in writing and they said they would email it within 2 hours.

So, I am thinking of reporting the charges as fraudulent. However, I am applying for a mortgage right now so I will wait until after I get approval for that in case it could negatively affect my credit score in some way. I am definitely going to report them to the state attorney, however.

CIC is deducting money from my personal account. I have never authorized this company to take such actions nor has anyone in my household. I have called several time to this company only to get the run around. I spoke with a representative who stated that no further actions would take place. This was two months ago, and to date money is still being taken from my account.

I fully agree to every complaint / comment made. Some where some people are getting rich by scamming money from others accounts! It's sick, and what's more sick is that these companies are supposed to help protect you from fraud! They steal all your money so there is nothing left for anyone else to steal, thats' how they protect your money. They take it!!! Some one needs to stop these people. you would think with all these different complaints they would be shut down by now! Makes you wonder who's really behind it all!!!

I never logged onto any website and I still have an automatic withdrawal. It is impossible to speak to a representative over the phone.

Several charges against my checking account made by Direct withdrawal were made without authorization or services rendered. These were supposed payments made for a membership to Free Credit Reports.com. Services and membership have reportedly been canceled after I contacted the company representative, but it seems I'm out the the money regardless. What concerns me is that I discontinued the initial inquiry on line after I realized that this was not a "free" service and did not finalize the survey. Nonetheless, the survey was finalized without my knowledge, and the following charges insued. I understand that the information I provided at the beginning of the survey was given with my full knowledge, but I also discontinued the survey when questions of membership were being asked of me. That to my understanding was not an agreement to join.

I am another victim. Thanks for the advice. Maybe now I can get the charges stopped.

How can this company keep doing this to people?

Free report became a charge. Called today 5-2-07 and asked to cancel service and remove charge, and started checking the web on this company. Very concerned of what I found.

CIC Triple Advantage/ Experian is in the business of scamming it's customers with bogus "Free Credit Reports". In reality they charge your Credit card an on-going fee of $12.95 every month after your first free report. This is done in hopes you will not discover the charge for a few months. I hope all that have been scammed will contact their local news groups in hopes of exposing their devious tactics... Buzz

For the past YEAR I have tried unsuccessfully to get this CIC Triple advantage charge of 12.95 from being debited from my account.

I have sent e-mails and telephoned nothing seems to work. I have asked my credit card company to not authorize the charges - but they continue to appear on my statement each month.

Not sure what else I can do!

Same as the rest. I went on line for a free credit report, and it has probably cost me a couple hundred dollars. I too have never been notified of any major changes on my credit report, nor have I been contacted by the company to notify me of a thirty day trial or of any service. I have been trying to figure out what this charge was for quite some time. I feel that I have not received any service for the money charged, and that this company is using fraudulent behavior to trap consumers into a free report.

This happened to me once before with these guys, but I hoped that they cleaned up their act. They didn't. A free trial is a free trial, not an excuse to nickel and dime in order to create a revenue stream.

My advice, just don't use this company. Your bank can run a credit report for you better without the hassel. This is just a bad business period. Can't wait for them to go out of business and to have a class action suit filed against them.

I have received 4 charges for $12.95 every month for something I have not approved. My bank has credited it back to me on one occasion and is now questioning these purchases. The latest charge was on 5/2/07 and created an overdraft on my account of $35.00.

I been wondering for a while where my money was going to until i finally had time to call and cancel this payment. I am in the military and finding this scam out is not a good thing at all. No where when i checked my credit report was there a charge on that subscription...

Cic Triple Advantage has been charging me 45.80 a month for credit monitoring that I didn't want. I have tried calling the back to get a contact number to try to resolve the issue, but no luck. I have tried to find contact number to call or an address to write to, to get this problem solved, but nothing has helped.
