Unauthorized charges!

Complaint Rating:

I thought i was signing up for a free credit report and now for 3 months they have been charging my bank account almost $20.00. I do not use it and feel I should get my money back. I cannot even find a phone number or even a contact me or an e-mail. I do not have the money for it and I do not even use it. Like i said i thought i was getting my one time free credit report.

I thought i was signing up for a free credit report and now my credit card has been charged for $12.95 on 2/28/07. I do not use this organization services. As I said I thought I was getting my one time free credit report.

I just fell into this trap. The good part is that I have an AARP credit card and I immediately called them and explained the situation. They stayed on the phone with me and called CIC and made sure that they had canceled this service and that my $12.95 was being credited to my credit card account. I have to give AARP a big thank you for their help. Also they have helped in situations of this nature before. AARP membership is well worth the money-believe me.

I just noticed that I have an unauthorized charge to my bank account for $12.95 as a debit. I have never spoke with this company nor used my debit card. I will be contacting my bank tomorrow.

Same story here. I signed up with CIC Triple Advantage because of their offer of free credit reports. I was then billed $12.00 for a months service and did not receive any credit reports. I called the number for CIC Triple Advantage listed on my credit card statement and ask them to cancel the account and paid the $12.oo. The following month I was billed another $12.oo. I called them again and it was like pulling teeth to get them to agree to cancel the account with them. They wanted all sorts of personal information, ie: SS#, date of birth, etc. Who knows what they had in mind for the use of that information. I threatened to notify the Federal Trade Commission, if they didn't cancel the account. It remains to be seen if they actually will cancel of charge my credit card again next month.

Every month I am being charged $12.95 for a so-called buy and sell on ebay service that I was never able to access. I agreed to a one-time only charge,and have emailed the address they listed with complaint,but no response. This company is obviously a scam. I would appreciate any information on what recourse I have in resolving this matter as it has gone on for a year,and the dollars are adding up quickly. Also, why is it that my credit card company can't just remove this debit as per my request. Thank you

These people showed up on my discover card with 2 charges of 9.95 each month for two months until i caught them. I never even ordered a credit report in the first place for them to get our credit card number. Discover has opened a fraud case against them and gave us back our money.

They got me too. FreeCreditReport, CreaditReport.com, whoever they are, were taking 9.95 from my account each month for, as their representative stated, "services rendered". Services that, I might add, were never asked for or achieved any results at all. They are, for all intents and purposes a scam who hide behind a "free service" like some pervert hiding behind a bush, only to attack some helpless sap like me with some hidden costs. Its companies like this, and the people who run them, that give legitimate and honest internet businesses a bad rap. And you know... this is the first (and only time) that I ever put my account number on a website for anything! I've never paid for anything over the net because of things like this. The one time I do... I get sucker punched with hidden and false charges. Thankfully, I only lost 29.85. Alot of people, it seems, lost a lot more. Hopefully when, not if, but when, shyster companies like these are brought down, we'll get our money back. But, as far as I am concerned, the money doesn't matter. I'd be satisfied seeing the execs and management of these crooked enterprises get a taste of their own medicine... in some dark, damp prison cell somewhere.

I too fell for the trap of not reading the fine print. Thankfully I spoke with a rep named Rocky who knew about all the complaints against the company. Since I couldn't shoot the messenger, I asked him what to do. All the work by the previous posters seems to have paid off- they will give you a cancellation # over the phone and also send you an email within two hours with a confirmation that includes your cancellation #. So, call Rocky and have him terminate your account.

I disagree with what they are doing, it is called a free credit report because it is suppose to be free. They are running one hell of a scam and charging your credit card of $12.95 a month. It is a small fee but when you have numerous items on your credit card you don't take a look at the small amounts. Ive been charged over a hundred dollars on this scam and i do not recommend anybody receiving their credit score from triple advantage.

I want to know who gave the permission to CIC TRIPLE ADVANTAGE to automatically collect 12.95 from my checking account without my permission. I know that once I asked for a free credit report offer from FREE CREDIT REPORT.COM, not from CIC* Triple Advantage, so I don't know how in the name of God you people from cic triple advantage got in and collect my money from my checking account, so I want my name off your list, and also I want my money refund back to my account, if you people from CIC TRIPLE ADVANTAGE don't refund my money, I will be obligated to make a report to the authorities, and place a demand in the court.

I know there are several of these complains...

My husband applied for credit report at FreeCreditReport.com

And We have been charged 12 dollars a month since at least January...

We did not find anything at the time that indicated this charge.

Not only this, but my husband's credit card has since changed and they have the new information and have been billing the current card!

I know for a fact that we haven't logged into the site, new nothing about the monthly service...

Is it legal for them to use that information!

I discovered they were using the new card when we logged in in effort to cancel the service... We will be calling in the morning and we will contact our bank to see if they can aide us in getting any form of a refund and as to the legality and ethics of using the new card information, and as to how they obtained it.

I did applied for a free credit report through triple advantage and now my credit card has been billed $12.00 for a monthly credit monitoring fee. There was nothing in writing when I received the free report that my credit card would be charged. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and they called the agency for me and I talked to someone to cancel the monthly charge. Watch out for this company.

Over the past several months I've had $12.95 taken out of my checking account. I have never authorized this and don't even know what it was for. Was never able to get a phone number to call them and question this. I intend to notify my bank to block them taking any more money out of my account. I am just hoping that I can recover all that I have lost in the meantime.

Sub: False charges

I was told I signed up for a membership after paying for a credit report on a credit report website. No where in obvious writing was there ANY notification that after 30 days I would be charged for such a membership. I received 2 $12.95 charges on my account which were NOT authorized. When I called the company to cancel and request a refund I was of course given the run around. Having dealt with such things before, and being an educated consumer, and JUST having received the notification of a lawsuit they are embroiled in, I informed them that if I did not receive me full credit I would be contacting the district attorney's office. I told them I knew they were involved in a civil law suit for this very purpose, and that I was supposed to receive three FREE months of service, not be charged for it.

Be aware that some credit card companies will not take action on your behalf with these complaints. After three times of threatening the fraudulent charger, and demanding three times to speak to a supervisor, stating the last time, "Are you refusing to let me speak to a supervisor" I was put on hold and then told that I would receive a full credit for my complaint.

These places are just criminal. It would be nice if they, and company's like them were shut down for good.
