CIC is billing me monthly for a service I do not use, do not need and can't seem to stop. I will call them, write them, report them to the BBB and to the attorney general. Shame on CIC!

There are literally hundreds of complaints on this one site alone, and hundreds more on other sites such as consumeraffairs.com, ripoffreport.com, complaints.com, etc. Unfortunately, I found all of these sites after I was scammed. I oringinally searched for Experian, and had no idea who CIC was until it appeared on my credit card without any contact information.
You should not have to HUNT for "fine print". It must have been REALLY FINE print because I didn't see it anywhere. What I did see was a statement where they ask you for a credit card number and it clearly stated "Your credit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED" and "we need it for IDENTITY VERIFICATION PURPOSES ONLY". Most reputable websites will send you confirmation that you signed up for something. Had they done that, I would have cancelled immediately! The only warning I got, like hundreds of others, was when I found charges on my credit card that I had not authorized. It makes me sick to my stomach that they take advantage of people who can least afford it.

Just like everyone else, I got signed up without ever
being asked for approval and was billed $14.95 every month. Am trying to resolve this using one of the phone numbers on this site.

My wife and I just discovered this has been happening to us for a few months! We're appalled.

I was able to get out of it, but i called the day after i guess I had signed up. I never got charged, but it was hell to get them to cancel. I had to tell the lady ELEVEN times to cancel me, and she kept on plugging the stupid service. When I say CANCEL, it means CANCEL.

I work for commerce bank. We see this all the time. Its a total scam the best thing you can do is to discuss the charges with your bank or credit card company and file a report on freecreditreport.com. And then cancel your credit or debit card in exchange for a new one. If that does not helpthen take futher action.

I got hit with two charges, I am guessing the initial setup and then a monthly. I just got off the phone with them (using the number provided in previous comments. It was also on my bank statement) and it took about five minutes from start to finish. I will have to watch next month's statement to make sure the account is indeed cancelled. I asked for a confirmation number but was told that I would receive an e-mail regarding the cancellation. We'll see about that. The worst part is having to listen to the person try to talk me out of cancelling the account. I had to block out surrounding sounds and concentrate on his words since his accent made it kind of difficult to understand him.

Watch out for FREE services! Nothing is ever free! There's always a catch somewhere along the way!

After reading other peoples' comments about the difficulty in getting the charges stopped, I am afraid I will have to cancel my account and reopen another one if the billing doesn't stop. Again, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Stop signing up for free stuff...THERE IS NO SUCH THING, PEOPLE. The only ones who offer freebies are the ones who can't wait to get their dirty hands in your wallet and pockets.

OK people. We are all subject to scams. This one has been incidious. The number to definately call to get the best care is the 1888-888-8553. They are courteous and helpful. The 1877-481-6825 number goes to people who are trained in how to piss you off more and not help. They promise to send me all my money back and cancel my subscription to whatever program they have. I bought a home and a car, opened 2 different bank accounts and was never notified on any of that business. So they aren't even doing what they say they will do. This company is out of Azusa California, con capitol of the US. That should tell you something. One more thing, When I had the first person on the phone I did mention the FTC and that I was going there if I didn't get this resolved. That is when they made their choice to give the money back and cancel. Good luck all.

So I just experienced the same thing everyone else has on here. I just called to cancel, the first time I called they said they were experiencing computer problems and at the moment were not able to process any requests. So I called another number and they did process my request to cancel. The representative said they would send an email to confirm the request and I asked her for her name and confirmation number. I checked my email right after the phone call and sure enough it was there. Now I'm just going to call my credit card company and have them close my account and transfer my balance to a new account to make sure I don't get billed by them again.

Fucking, CIC Triple Advantage is showing up 19.90 monthly charge on my bill. I DEMAND MY MONEY BACK! We need to burn this company to the ground!

Found out this company is in Azusa California, im local so im going to the company and banging their doors down and they better refund my money.

The charge is a crock of S**t; however, I got mine from the free credit report company I used. I guess when you use there service you automatically sing up and have thirty days to cancel. I forgot and never canceled; therefore, I was charged $12. It's all good tho, they will no longer get my money, call and cancel. Beware, things are rarely FREE.

Just found out that my credit card informantion was stolen. And in the process of determining what charges were ok and those not. Found this charge for CIC Triple Advantage in the amount of 12.95. Had know idea what the hell this was. Just got off the phone with them. They said the account will be canceled and give a one month 12.95 refund. That's pretty big of them seeing that I had a never knowingly approved of this. The free credit report is just a scam to get your info. If you don't notify them that about canceling this service. They are going to charge you after the trial time.

I just got off the phone with CIC Triple Advantage. They have no record of me calling in October 07 and cancelling. Thus, I cannot get a refund. They are slick and could not look anything up without a credit card #. I will tell everyone I know not to subscribe, use, or even look at Free Credit Report.com

I got an unauthorized charge of 14.95 on my credit card. I thought I was getting a free credit report. Why can't someone do something about all these fraudulent scamers.

But why do you "Complaints Board" have a link (in the upper left hand corner) to freecreditrepot.com?

Same deal for me... the cancellation number is 888-829-6560. The other number gets you nowhere.

I have had the same problem as everyone else. There is a charge for $14.95 on my bank statements and I never signed any kind of agreement with Triple Advantage. WATCH OUT!!!
