Signed up for service I never received and did not want or need!

Complaint Rating:

CIC is billing me monthly for a service I do not use, do not need and can't seem to stop. I will call them, write them, report them to the BBB and to the attorney general. Shame on CIC!

I am looking at my credit card bill, and there is a charge of 14.95 from CCI. I tried going to their web site to login to apparently my credit report... I mean... I paid for it and all... and aparently I am not even in their database... So... they will hear from a very very angry person Tom. morning. Also, DO NOT LOOK UP FORECLOSURE HOMES. they told me 1 dollar for processing and there after 19.00 I thought... great... I will get a cheap home. However... these houses... are also posted in Century 21, ect. for 39.80. I paid for that. . Welp... gotta go get rested to complain!

I called the 1-800 number therein, and cancelled.

As with many other on the board: I'm extremely diligent about opting out of all recurring monthly subscription schemes. I have no idea where the option was to opt-out on freecreditreport.com, but I certainly didn't see it.

1 month of charges down the drain, but less hassle than going through the formal credit card dispute process, imo.

I agree with the posters. I called 1-877-481 6825, and the agent Rochelle was extremely hostile and argumentative. it was only the report from freecreditreport.com that had the deceptive website information. Reports from annualcreditreport.com were actually free. Freecreditreport.com is part of consumerinfo.com. The company specializes in contracts by adhesion. You are not allowed to get the report without signing up for the insurance, which you can later cancel.

So, be firm. Call the credit card company and dispute the charge. Call the 877 number and cancel the insurance. Do not take any guff from them. Be firm.

If you ask for a supervisor, you may me told that they are all in a meeting.

Be sure to specifically ask for a refund of the charges already made. They may cancel future charges but refuse to make a refund. Get a cancellation number. Give it to your credit card issuer. Finally, remember this site -- annualcreditreport.com. This is the site that gives you a free credit report each year from all three bureaus. Keep on disputing the scam.

I also am unable to stop them. I tried. I even went as far as putting my card on hold to allow no more debits. That did not deter them. As soon as I reactivated my card they took the money. I told my bank not to allow the charges and they state they can not do that. I would have to stop them or file a complaint. HELP!!!

I have had a very negative experience and was signed up for this, thinking I had ordered one credit report. I disputed it with my credit card company which could do nothing. It is almost impossible to get them to stop billing. I ended up canceling my credit card and had one with a new number issued. Criminal!

i called them about charges made to may account for months....i hadnt picked up on it. i called the 1-888-888-8553 number and got a hold of someone and told them that i NEVER received an email oabout charges that would occur to my account and that i wanted these to stop immediately. the service was cancelled and i got transferred to a supervisor who agreed to give me a 1 month refund. she had to look up which site i signed up on to which i i commented "oh i see...so u have SEVERAL sites that do this???" to which she sheepishly replied "uh, yes we have a couple of sites that offer these services". these people are scammers! call them and dispute! i was asked to provide my social securtiy number to find the account but i told the rep i would not release that information and told him to look me up under full name and DOB (thank you dee andres) and got it cancelled. 7-10 business daysd....i guess ill have to wait and see....

I also had the stupid monthly thing and when i called to cancel, she asked me the reason why I was cancelling.....I need to give a reason?.....plus she then spouted out a prewritten statement on how I should keep the service for about 2-3 minutes....I don't want it.....just cancel it already!!!!
