CIC is billing me monthly for a service I do not use, do not need and can't seem to stop. I will call them, write them, report them to the BBB and to the attorney general. Shame on CIC!

This is cr*p. I know everyone has been trying to cancel, and so have I. I just don't know how to get off this thing. I live paycheck to paycheck, and this really screws me up.

I am being charged $12.95! I just saw this on my online checking account. I've never ever ever checked my credit score. How can they get your information like this? Has anyone who's posted so far gotten them to stop charging?!

Hey, I just called that number, 877-481-6825

The lady explained that the charges occur because anyone who uses FREE CREDIT REPORT gets a free trial membership for 30 days, and after that they agree to be billed monthly for the subscription unless otherwise canceling before the free trial is up. They monitor your credit and alert you of any changes, recently added accounts, or negative things that happen to your credit score that you could be unaware of, and get in deep trouble for if weren't aware.

I don't think $13 is that high of a cost to have someone monitoring that important information for you, but that's just a personal opinion because I have a lot of accounts that I need to keep track of.

So they got you on the fine print, or the "read terms and agreements" and agree to them. When people tend to get things for free, they don't read those, and basically it was my own fault for not paying closer attention. Why would they give me something free if there wasn't an incentive for them in the first place?

Bite the bullet, and if you don't want the service, call 877-481-6825. But fighting this will be a losing battle, so save your anger and energy.

Triple Advantage did the same to me by charging my bank account without authorization. I still can not reach them by phone.

I, like the others, had a surprise on my debit card charges. However, I just sent an e-mail to Support@FreeCreditReport.com and I was immediately notified that my membership had been cancelled according to my request. I didn't have to call anyone and be on hold for limitless time listening to music. It was just that easy.

I understood the terms and conditions of getting my free credit report from this website, but the problem is even after I called to cancel before the 30 day trial period ended they continued to charge my card. Unbelievable. I'm pissed.

I got the same problem, eventually I had to get a new credit card. So p*ssed!

There has been a charge against my VISA since last year, I finally cancelled my VISA for that & other reason... who will the charge now??? What recourse does one have for reimbursement??
You cant seem to get to them that this is unwanted. How is it possible for them to make charges to a personal VISA without authorization, or is this a case of not paying attention or of not being suspicious enough to the possibility of a blatant scam? Catching people off guard!

I'm in the same boat, what can we do to stop this ("PLAGUE") that's killing us...

I must be one of the luckier ones. I caught this rip-off after only three billing cycles. I called immediately to complain/cancel. I also called my credit card to dispute the charges and let them fight the war for me. Yes, I called the 877-481-6825 number. How can we stop this? Call your state attorney general to file a complaint.

As an update to my previous comment, CIC Triple Advantage is a company owned by Experian-- one of the three main credit reporting agencies for each and every American!!!

I also looked at my report online. I turned around and
canceled the service and got a reply. Boo Hoo your leaving. But now I have charges on my Visa. Cic should realize that this is a no no. I am in process of calling and ??? They had best stop charges and credit my account!!! My next call will be the BBB another. They say when you LOOK, that you have ordered the 3 credit report. The charge is then a processing charge. It is BS?

I am having the same issue. I canceled again for the 3rd time. This time I have a cancellation # and provided it to my credit card company. Be very careful with these people. They tried very hard to get more personal information from me i.e., social security #, birth date, mother's maiden name, credit card #. Claimed they could not cancel unless they got this information. Unfortunately I had to give credit card info to get a cancellation #. I immediately reported to the credit card company. Hopefully this will put an end to this.

I was having the same problem and finally called today to see what it was all about. The woman who answered said she would cancel my registration with them, no problem. So I will see if November brings any charges on my credit card. 640

I just called the company now and the woman said that because I didn't cancel within the 30 day period, I was charged and so I couldn't get a refund. Dammit. I even said that others had received a refund and she merely restated what she just said. I want my money back. I think I've been getting charged for a couple of months already too. I want to sucker punch them.

This company is a pain in the...well you know! I called to find out what this was and apparently when my husband signed up for his "free" credit report he was signed up for some credit monitoring service that had a 30 day trial period. I explained that neither he nor I knew he signed up for this and the woman was adamant about no refunds, she even told me to ask my credit card company for a refund. I tried again with a different rep. and was told in a horribly rude voice "Well it does say no refunds in the terms". So I called my bank and they told me how to file a dispute with VISA, and that should take care of it and any future charges. Oh, and I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
