CIC is billing me monthly for a service I do not use, do not need and can't seem to stop. I will call them, write them, report them to the BBB and to the attorney general. Shame on CIC!

if you pay attention, listen and read details you can save yourself alot of hassles. Are there companies out there trying to get you yes. but in this case, they make it well known in their commercial "sign up for cic triple advantage to get your free credit report at freecreditreport.com". I mean for goodness sake they advertise all over satellite tv, people need to pay attention to what they are doing. If you only learn one thing today, learn that these companies are all about money, you watch your own back

Well, I'm still within that 30 day window and haven't been charged yet, but I have tried calling several times to cancel but with no luck. Looks like I'll need to get my card replaced in the next few days.

USE THIS PHONE NUMBER TO GET A REFUND!!! I have had the same horrible experience with this company as the rest of you, and have called 877-481-6825 several times with no success. However, I found a number that was answered very quickly, and a person that was very helpful. She did tell me initially that three months of service was all the company could credit me for, and I asked to speak to a supervisor,. After she put me on hold for just a couple of minutes, she came back and agreed to credit my account for the remaining three months of charges. She gave me a confirmation number and her name... Lorey. The number is 1-800-388-8725.

You know, I have called numerous times to cancel and what do you know... The charges are still being withdrawn from my account. I never received anything they promised. This is a total waste, do not, I repeat do not continue this service if you have it!

I too received charges to my credit card. With the first charge, I thought I had forgotten to keep a receipt. On this second charge for $12.95, I put the CIC*Triple Advantage name from my statement in a search engine and Voila! here I am with the rest of you, getting charged for something I did not know I was getting. Goes to show: FREE is FREE only in Jesus! I called right away to the 877-481-6826 number and got "Louigee," who spoke very precise English; probably one of those huge warehouses in India where you see on TV hundreds of cubicles, phones, computer screens and men and women all trying to speak so they can be understood. I stopped the spiel from "Louigee" quickly, saying "This was a charge I did not know I was getting and I don't want. Please take it off my account now." Every time he started to tell me what I was getting or what I was turning down, I said this. It only took twice and I got a cancellation confirmation number and I will look for the email I have been promised.

I noticed I have been billed my checking account, yes my checking account 12.95 for past several months. I have contacted them and there is no account in my name. Since it is not a account in my name she could not assist me or cancel the charges. I do not have a debit card for this account therefore I was unable to give a card number and exp that she requested to cancel the services. This is outrageous and ridiculous. This company deserves to have the highest punishment there is. Now my bank is involved and I will have to go into my bank branch, show photo ID and then await for research.

This is some bulls*it this company has been charging us for two years and we haven't caught it due to being in the military and constantly moving around. We never signed up for this shit and they are acting like we've been using there product I never saw anything in the mail from than or for that note in email either... Something needs to happen this company needs to be shut down.

ATTENTION:

Getting rid of these charges is as simple as calling the bank that issued your credit card, and telling them that you would like to issue a charge back. They will then send you an affidavit in the mail which you need to fill out and return. The charges will then be reversed :-)

And don't worry about any legal issues concerning this. It's the same as if you are simply refusing to send in a cash payment. As long as you're not using the service, you're legally allowed to reverse these charges since you didn't sign any contracts as with cell phone companies.

I currently have been in process of drafting up a very lengthy letter to the FTC, not to mention that of "WIDESPREAD INTERNET DISTRIBUTION." I would be liking for any and all to be able to see my FTC investigation request. Is it permissible for me to be posting my [investigative] email here? Advise smb!

I noticed that I was charged $12.95 from this company 2 months in a row. I was really upset because the second charge caused my account to go negative and I was charged an over the limit fee, and that's when I realized it wasn't the first time I was charged. I called the number listed on my bank statement (877-481-6825) and there was an automated option to cancel your account. When I hit that option, the line disconnected. Same thing happened when I called back. So the 3rd time I selected the option for all other questions and it went through. After sitting on hold, a guy answered. I told him that I did not want this service and didn't realize that I would be charged. He claims that there is a disclaimer on their site that is on 3 different pages when you are signing up. I told him that I have been online (to sites like this) and seen how many people have the same problem so it isn't just me who simply missed it. He canceled my account right away, then I asked about getting my money refunded. Surprisingly, he did it with no arguing. Even though it may be hard, just be polite when you call. They are more likely to give you what you want if they are not being yelled at. If that doesn't work, ask for a supervisor or file a complaint.

This company sucks bad. I too was lead into this scam.

They took advantage of the fact that most people don't spend the time reading the full agreement when they sign up for a service, in this case a "free" service. I am guilty of doing this and now my account is being charged by this company and one other. All in all I will try and be optimistic because this taught me a lesson... when you sign up for ANYTHING make sure to read all of the fine print! I hate companies that legally scam people to make money.

I canceled my membership the 14th of last month and here it is showing up on my bank statement again for 12.95. So, I called them again. The lady I spoke with was professional and helpful and she could see that I had, in fact, canceled my membership. So, I requested the 12.95 to be refunded and asked why it was showing up again. With a little prying, it turns out that they not only used my card, but my husband's card on the same bank account. So, it was like a backup plan for them if one client ditches, they can still use another card to get the money out of the account. I don't know how they do it. So, I had them cancel my husband's account, too. Then I requested that all of our personal information be deleted from their database. She said she couldn't do it herself, but gave me an address and told me to include mine and my husband's reference numbers for the cancellation and a copy of the bank statement where the 12.95 had been taken out. So, as soon as I got off the phone I typed out a quick letter and enclosed all of the above and it's in the mail on it's way to Irvine, CA now. Hopefully, they will no longer have access to our personal information and this won't happen again. The number I called is 1-877-481-6825. The address she gave me to request that my information be deleted from the database is the following:

Consumer Info/CRG
PO Box 49729
Irvine, CA 92623-9729

Hope the rest of you find this information useful.
Regards,
Diana
