I have just bought a new prepaid Airtel chip (No. 99031-7607X). I wanted to know the GPRS settings. First of all navigating through the IVR of Airtel is painful because you have to wait till the voice stops parroting. Then, if by chance you enter a number (option) twice, you get disconnected. When you do choose, for example, English Language, you don't get an option to connect to Customer Care. Only after I learned that you must dial the secret number "9" at the secret point in the IVR do you get connected to Customer Care.

The Customer Care really don't care about the customer. Perfect parrot in practiced English dictions, a little off-beat question confuses them thoroughly. They put you on hold and ask their supervisor. In my case, I was told to dial 7070 for technical assistance. I asked whether the number was toll-free and "yes" came the reply.

I called 7070. They had no idea regarding GPRS settings (AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE?) and asked weird and vague questions and finally said they had no idea regarding my question. Ah well! I always knew they were dumb. After hanging up, I was shocked to see my balance depleted for Rs 26.xx for a less than 10 min call.

Moral of the story: Don't trust Airtel. Don't buy Airtel. If you can't afford Hutch, go without a phone. Hire a messenger to send your messages. Above all, don't call customer care and waste your time. Buy some other card. Even an out-of-state on roam SIM.

HI,
The above compains are absolutely true. The customer care executives in AIRTEL are good for nothing. For my card, every day they are deducting 1 rupee by sending a message to me that as per the plan. I have requested them to change the plan 3 or 4 times but no action is taken till now. So i have decided that i will go for some other card.

My advice is donot use AIRTEL.

On 18-04-08 i recharged my mobile with Rs. 333. Only Rs.171 was credited to my account. On calling to the customer service i was told that the balance amount of Rs162 will be credited in 8 hours. This was not done and then on calling airtel i was told by your Senior Supervisor Mr. Arun, that this service is not available, Rs333 recharge is not available through the internet recharge. Again when i called Airtel i was told by your Senior Supervisor Mr. Dheeraj that the amount will be credited in 4 hours (complaint id 419069601, 10:16am 19-04-08).

I just want to know how foolish do you think your customers are? Is arun giving me the right information? if not, then what assurance is there that when a customer calls airtel he/she is receiving the right information??

i am going through horrwing experince for last 10 days after connecting with airtel .Actualy what i found in these ten days is There is no internal communication system between two Airtel Customre care centre at same time Local CCC is saying that my No is Not Company paid hence GPRS activated dt- 01-May08 on my Connection and 121 is saying that i can't avail GPRS facility on my Connection because my connection is company paid .

Now i don't know if i can say any thing more than this about level of service provided by Air tel to their poor customer's

Airtel I found the most worst service in telecom industry. If I'm calling to the customer service then even after calling 4-5 times I dont found any customer service guy to assist always shows busy. Next I request airtel to end up there hello tunes service as u dont have any list in the website, even i cant search any song of my choice, via mobile also always the reply wht i get is sorry no data found. Why the fuck u have opened caller tune dept. when u dont have the database. Is Mr. Mittal sleeping or what. So plz henceforth request u to plz end up your bloody CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE & CALLER TUNE SERVICE. I was a user of Vodafone & seriously they've an excellent customer service & caller tune service. But due to my corporate connection I've to carry on with this bloody airtel.

Very Poor Service by Airtel

I purchased prepaid number on 24th april and was told that it will be activated with in 2 hours but it got activated by 25th of friday evening, but incoming facility to the number was not activated for whcih i complained again (aleast 10 to 15 times ) then after that the incoming facility got activated after 3 days (i.e on monday) and agian hte number worked for 2 to 3 days and again now all of its services were disabled and agian i have complained but still no response (hopeless service by airtel). Never expected this type of service from airtel as i am having 2-3 postpaid connections of airtel from last 3 years. But now after gone through such service by airtel will never buy airtel connection. and even i dont know what they did with by money i have recharged my number with 398 full talktime but no service is running. AIRTEL is such money eater monster. Customer care employees do not give any complaint number and when you call next time will say your complaint is now registered you have not registered it earlier so we will take another 24 hour to check this and this keeps on going!!! The cycle goes on. Really i get irritated and its disgusting to see such 3rd class services of Airtel.

CALL 543213 (TOLL FREE) TO ENJOY YOUR FAVOURITE SONGS IN 17 LANGUAGES' .

In this connection I request you to kindly cancel the above DEMAND SERVICE AND NOT TO RECOVER ANY AMOUNT IN FUTURE. You are also requested to pay the above illegal recovered amout to my mobile prepaid at the earliest.

The cancellation of Demand service information may be send to my mobile by SMS within 3 days.
