Never came back to finish the job!

Castaway Pools and Spas installed a pool at my home on 4/5/07. They have never came back to finish the job despite numerous phone calls and letters sent to their office. Their salesman john refuses to answer any phone calls. I would advise anyone in the tristate area to be aware of this company. If this company is hired to install a pool at your home read the contract and beware that the are not responsible for any damage to your home or property. Do not under any circumstances make a payment until they are completely done. They seem friendly but are that lie and deceive the public.

Yes, there is a law that requires excavators to call BEFORE they dig. They aren't supposed to start until the property has been marked. Homeowners are required by law also, it's up to whoever is doing the digging. If you are going to put in a new fence yourself, you have to call. If a fence company is doing it for you, they have to call.

I here the kalai’s Have Smartened up . I found out they pressed Charges Against John Dalrymple and Teresa Masker for theft, Burglary and forgery . I also Here there is more to come so Stay tune. Just to let you know John Lacompe Sr has a warrant out for is arrest .
You Better think twice about Purchasing a pool from these people . Do you want to expose your families to thief’s and liars ? I know I don’t ! I also herd they continue to blame the kalai’s for all the problems with Castaway Pool and spas . Obviously from reading the complaint forums they have not changed . So who’s fault is it now John ? Is it all the people that trusted you and the customers . Because it cant be Your dad or your fault Because your never wrong . John had two previous Pool Companies with his father and Teresa, Oasis pools and Tropical Pools and there not in business anymore I wonder why ! Yeah Kalai is pretty smart, so smart that he got debarred from state and local government work in NJ, I wonder if what he was doing was charging the government the union rate for his people's labor and then not paying them the union wage as he is required (even if you're not a union shop, you have to pay people union wages on government jobs in NJ). If he was doing that, he was pocketing the extra cash. I don't know that he was in fact doing that, but I don't think there are too many different things you can do to get debarred.

Speaking of licenses, I wonder whose contractor license that Castaway is using to install pools in other states like Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, since I can't seem to find them listed anywhere on the states' contractor verification web sites.

I note that "Castaway Fiberglass Pool" now has their own Better Business Bureau report on www.bbb.org, no complaints in there yet but I have faith that it soon will be filled up with lots of stuff.

In fact, I believe that someone already must have complained, because the BBB won't even have a file on a company unless someone has called up to complain about them. Way to go, John! Consistency is the mark of the master.

Castaway Customer I am sorry to tell you. John went to dolphin on on tuesday or wednesday and dolphin would not sell him a pool Because he didnt have a certified check. John jr said let me put the pool in the hole and ill come back and give you the certified check. They said no We want the check up front or no pool. I am sorry to tell the customers you probably will not be getting a pool cause john spend all his deposits he got in the winter time. So john whats the excuse you gave your customer the reason you couldnt deliver the pool. Was it the truck broke down? Working on another pool? The job you were on took longer then you figured? Or didnt have a Wide load permit? So customers who are expecting a dolphin pool i would like to know his excuse. Please reply back.

I guess the guy at Dolphin pools is desperate to sell, since he still sells to John at all. Anyone who sells supplies to John, knowing the scams he runs, could probably be charged with aiding and abetting.

hey kalai's get your facts straight. this is neither of the johns. I am a very sasified customer who has gotten my pool installed very recently. Just so you know i am a lawyer and trying to destroy a company that has nothing to do with yours is unlawful. As for dolphin pools it was my pool and they did not deny them the pool it is in my back yard right now where my family and i are very much enjoying it. Dolphin cannot deny another company pools just because your company owes them money. So unless you have your facts straight i suggest you stick to taking care of your own problems. I've read this board and it sounds as if you yourselfs are no better. At least my calls are all answered but that does not seem to be the case with you guys who just keep ignoring and ignoring people and try to pass the blame onto others. You knew what you were doing so own up to it and stop trying to destroy a company that has nothing to do with yours.

So if you did truly receive a Dolphin Pool, that means the John's paid Dolphin in full for the pool + $2000.00 additional towards their old debt in order to be able to pick it up . Gee...where did they get that kind of money? Oh...that's right...from the deposit of some unsuspecting customer John Jr. put his spell on, and now is getting screwed over. That's their M.O...robbing Peter and never paying Paul.

Filling out a contractor license in your girlfriend's name means nothing. The company's are the same, run by the same peoeple who have run multiple pool companies into the ground. John's - we all know. Yes, Kalai was a dumb monkey for letting you run the company and he's responsible. But, we we'll never let you two off the hook.

Im another victim of "Castaway" I know for a fact "Dolphin" has NOT sold any pools to "Castaway" this season AND have no plans to do so. The Anonymous/Lawyer post is probably Teresa or the John's. Dear Teresa, Jr. and Sr... YOU have NO idea who you SCREWED this time!!!
