Never came back to finish the job!

Castaway Pools and Spas installed a pool at my home on 4/5/07. They have never came back to finish the job despite numerous phone calls and letters sent to their office. Their salesman john refuses to answer any phone calls. I would advise anyone in the tristate area to be aware of this company. If this company is hired to install a pool at your home read the contract and beware that the are not responsible for any damage to your home or property. Do not under any circumstances make a payment until they are completely done. They seem friendly but are that lie and deceive the public.

How does he (they) keep stealing and deceiving the public only get probation? We are talking about BIG bucks, with some of these families. Isn't over x-amount of dollars considered gran larceny? and he only gets probation!
Oh, that's right, AGNES, said he is a kind and gentle guy and is paying restitution! Where does that money come from? Deposits paid by hard working honest people and their families.
From what I found out through the grapevine, they have been in the pool business for at least 8 years and have done the same thing to other families. Also, they probably had at least 4 other pool names for the same scams. Oasis, Tropical, Deluxe, Castaway Pools & Spas, Pools Spas and Beyond, and now just plain Castaway. Anyone know of any other names?

It's been eight months since John took my deposit and I haven't seen or heard from him since. The State Attorney General's office is working on everyone's complaints but, as of today, 3/10/08, there has been little movement.

Is there a reputable & honest Fiberglass Company that is recommended? Water World? Funny we got the negative speech from Castaway about Waterworld. At that time we had no idea that they were the "crooks"!

Hello Paulene-

I am so glad we were able to save you and your family from the nightmare we have been living with for the last year or so!
There is a pool company I have been working with for the past 7-8 months. The company is Accent Pools. I know the man who owns the company because his wife works with my father. I only wish I new him before I signed a contract with Castaway. Accent pools is available to answer questions give guidance and of course install pools. This company will be finishing my pool this spring. 877-720-pool or 717-877-7475. As always do your own investigations before signing into any contract. I do know this company will provide many references. Feel free to email me if need be. Good Luck and remember-make sure your contract is not front loaded. There should be equal payments throughout the process.

Took the cover off our pool, what a surprise, the water was crystal clear! I wish we would have invested in the solid safety cover, there is so much dirt on the bottom. So don't be surprised! The cover is off, the filter is running, the DIRT is back! LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
