Castaway Pools and Spas

Never came back to finish the job!
Complaint Rating: 99 % with 130 votes
Castaway Pools and Spas installed a pool at my home on 4/5/07. They have never came back to finish the job despite numerous phone calls and letters sent to their office. Their salesman john refuses to answer any phone calls. I would advise anyone in the tristate area to be aware of this company. If this company is hired to install a pool at your home read the contract and beware that the are not responsible for any damage to your home or property. Do not under any circumstances make a payment until they are completely done. They seem friendly but are that lie and deceive the public.

FYI-went by the store today... they are up and running. The NEW truck has the pool signs on it and they are have a PRE-SEASON SALE! You better hurry, it takes time for them to take the money and run! There was a new web address on the back of the truck I have to check it out and let you know what it is. But my guess is they are open for business and ready to sell to some unsuspecting customer!

Again, please email me if you paid a deposit and had no work done. I know of three, I know there are more. I know of DN, CB, and S&NS.

it comes up as leisure pools out of manahawkin
if you check out the leisure pool web site, it still lists vineland as one of their dealers

Thanks!

I guess the real question is this:

Is "East Coast Fiberglass Pools" the next front business for the Castaway crew?

I see that East Coast is also selling Barrier Reef fiberglass pools, as shown at

http://www.barrierreefpoolsusa.com/fiberglass-pool-dealers-us-state.php?state=NJ

It lists this:

Eastcoast Fiberglass Pools & Hardscapes -
15 Brook St Little Egg Harbor
NJ 08087
Phone: 609 294 4555

which is a different address than the other web site (173 Matilda, Manahawkin). The address in Little Egg Harbor looks like a house on the satellite view, but it is next to a vacant lot that is filled with crap, like for a landscaping business or something.

Just the fact that the two addresses are different is enough to make me suspicious.

Yes, I emailed a few times and spoke one time to the Leisure pool rep, Chris Bradford, he took info. from me and then did not answer any emails, so I think its fishy as well.
158 days ago by Gregw [send email]
I will post the Leisure Pool rep's phone number and email tomorrow for any one else to call and complain.

Leisure pools, Chris Bradford, chrisbradford@leisurepoolsusa.com. This is the rep. who did business with Castaway to start, unknown if still "selling" pools to them. He knows ted at Trilogy. Do they communicate?

I wonder if someone from East Coast Pools will pop on here and tell us all about how he doesn't know John and Willy and Denny and Agnes.

When I was checking the licensure of East Coast, I noticed that his Home Improvement Contractor license expires at the end of 2008, while Kalai Excavating's license has an expiration date at the end of 2007. I wonder if he forgot to pay his renewal fee?

This latest in the rumer mill. John Jr.'s change the name from Castaway Pools and Spas to Castaway Pool. (because Kalai is no longer involved, had to change name) (Pissed off, Can you confirm??) From what we hear John is partnered up with the concrete guy and ready to expand to Atlantic County area.

He's not going to stop doing this until either the law finally does something or he comes accross the wrong customer to screw!!!

FRAUDS!! FRAUDS!! FRAUDS!!

DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU!!!
158 days ago by Gregw [send email]
The site www.poolsnewjersey.com that lists East Coast Pools and address with Matilda Dr is either Kovacs' home address or work site vs. the Tuckerton address above:

Joseph Kovacs
173 Matilda Dr
Manahawkin, NJ 08050-3636
(609) 494-6920

So, I think its safe to say he's with John D. and Leisure Pools.

Hey, Savanah, who are you??? Who is a fraud and who is not to be fooled?
We all fell into this trap, what is your story?
158 days ago by Pissed Off [send email]
From what I seen, the sign is Castaway Pools, I guess he hasn't scammed enough people yet to make a new sign. He really used his brain, you know, the name change of the company. It must have taken him a while to come up with the new name. He must have thought long and hard to come up with it!
the sign should read: CAST YOUR MONEY AWAY FOOLS AND SPAS!

Yes Savannah, Who are you??? John Jr........John Sr......or Agnes.... Who exactly are the Frauds???
