1&1 Ionos - 1 & 1 mail business mailbox

Invoice date: 01/04/2016
Customer id: [protected]
Product id : [protected]
Invoice no. : [protected]

I would like to request a refund because it was discounted value us44, 85 of my credit card and I did not used it, which made just one field of recruitment to view the service of you.In this invoice saying that this amount was related to 1 & 1 mail business mailbox, but I do not know what it is and never got even to use this service.

I would like a solution, because if no, I will have to resort to justice to resolve it.

Demanded the value of 1 mail business mailbox 5x, and I never got to even get into that, and also never got authorize this transaction.

This is a lack of respect for the customer, I feel robbed.

I would like a solution, because I have no money to pay this bill.

Thanks.

The same happened to me. Two mailboxes were added to my account in November 2015 free of charge, then in January 1&1 started charging for the service.
When I asked for a refund by email 1&1 gave me my money back without any fuss. When I asked them how those items got added to my account they stated "It may be added accidentally without you noticing it". Hmm, I've been using their services for many years and know my way around the control panel.
Like adiniiz, I too felt that 1&1 were operating in a dishonest manner and fear that other customers may be paying for this service without realising it. At least they gave a refund so I'm OK.
My advise is, if it happens to you contact 1&1's billing team immediately and politely ask for a refund.

1&1 Ionos - fraudent website marketing

After being a web hosting customer for 6.5 years paying $15/month, I get a call on a Friday afternoon from some telemarketing nut wanting me to take the 1and1 Website builder service. I say we are satisfied with our current website and may be merging companies soon so these decisions wouldn't even be made now anyway. The Tele-Fraudster says "oh can we just send you and email so you can take a look at the service?". Well, to get her off my phone I say send me an email and if I get time I'll take a look. Damn good thing I looked at the email, it was an invoice with the first month free, but if not CANCELLED in 30 days, they start billing me for a new advanced service that I'm supposed to appreciate and have full knowledge of because Tele-Fraudster was so helpful in her phone scam. While the amount due on this initial invoice is ZERO $0.00, you know in the next quarter it automatically hits my credit card. All this to say we will be leaving 1and1.com completely very soon and using another more reputable service for website hosting. As it was, they have such a weird setup (and I'm no tekkie) that the company who built my website had a hard time connecting it to 1and1's domain structure, so it's all for the better. Buyer beware of the simple, cheap or FREE approach...you get what you pay for and sometimes things you don't.

1&1 Ionos - scam

I was charged for a service I did not request, and locked into a year long contract without my consent or authorization. When calling and emailing 1&1 internet about this, they refised to help me, and so I am reporting this company to the BBB, and to every place so that this doesn't happen to other people.

I am investigating 1and1 Internet's fraudulent billing practices. If 1 and 1 Internet billed you for services without your authorization, failed to cancel services at your request or sent you to collections for unauthorized debt, feel free to contact The Eureka Law Firm at 1and1@eurekalawfirm.com. The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based solely upon advertisements.

I am currently being harrassed by 1 and 1 also for a service I never requested. Is there anyone who successfully got them to stop emailing, calling and writing for charges you never incurred? They never had my credit card so at least they can't charge me, but they are threatening a collection agency. Three years now they've been chasing me.

Same thing happened to me. I was charged $239.88 for a year's worth of internet services which I had never requested. A salesman had called (if that happens to you and he identifies himself as a 1&1 rep, DO NOT ANSWER, JUST HANG UP) to offer the service and I said that I was not interested. I thought that was the end of it. Then I got charged $19.99 a month for a year, before I noticed (I have so many web hosting expenses that at first, I thought those charges were related to some other service) and when I questioned the charges, they answered that I had accepted to try that particular service which I never needed in the first place and never accessed. When I asked to ave them play the tape it for me, they answered that I would have to produce a court order or subpoena before they would do that. When I got my credit card company to reverse those charges, they locked up my account and all of my domains, not even letting the mail go through. They then advised me that, in order for them to unlock my account, I had to fax them a signed chargeback statement, stating that the charges were valid. I feel mugged. My advice to any potential customer: Don't walk, run as fast as you can from 1&1.

Replying to comment of Guy A.

That is exactly what I just found out happened to me. Their charges are so complicated, I didn't realize until I did some serious research that they were charging me for something I didn't ask for and never used. It's been four and a half years! So now I gotta threaten to take them to court. I think all of us with these complaints should get together...strength in numbers.

Same thing happened to me in spades. In my opinion, of all the internet companies to get involved with, 1&1 would be the last. I curse the day I ever registered any domains with them. Check out [redacted]s for some customer comments.
It should be a warning that when their phone was answered by a recording that tells you if you have gotten a notice from NCO, a collection agency, to press a certain number. If they are a reputable business, why did they have to send so many accounts to a collection agency?
The Eastern Pennsylvania /Washington DC Better Business Bureau had given 1&1 an “F” rating. An investigative journalist, Kelli Jack has written a series of articles about them and had a pending lawsuit. She said: “1and1 Should Be Shut Down.”

1&1 Ionos - domain names had been deleted against customer will and without any notice.

Suddenly, my website become inaccessible, then found the related domain name registered at 1and1 was deleted from my domains list against my will and without any notice. I passed about two days to exchange emails with them to solve the problem.
Tickets: c301486397 - c301525406 - c301554451.
Imprecise answers unconvincing, sometimes vague shows a lack of effort to solve the problem, which increased the number of messages exchanged, and therefore caused big loss of time to me. I curse 1and1.
Last email from 1and1 :
> from: [protected]@1and1.com
> we have received an escalated case from the technical support team. It appears as though the domain was cancelled via the online cancellation tool. This would mean the account holder or someone with access to the account cancelled it. You would need to fill out the redemption form that we have available on our website<
My answer to this was:
What you say below is what you want me to believe, but it is very clear that this is not the truth, the traceability of your server and ip routing can prove it. There is no doubt that it's someone in your staff, and you refuse to admit it and at least to apologize.
Taken rage against this pathetic behavior, I ended up canceling my account with them and give up all other domain names. After a moment I have been informed that they tried to extort funds from my pay pal account.
So that I emailed them :
In any case it is too late, the damage is done. Review your strategy or your company will continue to fall. Compare yourself to successful companies like go-daddy, enom, name-cheap and others & hellip; now regardless of how long it will take to rectify the situation, I have to rebuild all with another company, purchase other ssl certificates and & hellip; and & hellip; and & hellip;.
What is certain is that 1and1 will remain a nightmare in my memory, I guess this is the case for other people as it has increasingly bad reputation, good riddance…
They should expect that I publish exchanged mails on several sites to show people their dishonesty and lack of professionalism.

Yes, I have seen how they do business only after 3 years I have over 100 domains and know that I will lose what I have already paid for...also have contacted PA States Attorney but still contemplating how to minimize my losses.
A class action suit seems to only benefit lawyer, we lose and they (1and1) make big payout to lawyer.
Any thoughts on how to deal with this?

1&1 Ionos - they stold my website

1 and 1 Internet Inc has stolen my website; the design, the content, etc only they've added links for products that they make money on. I'm a doctor so it's as if I'm endorsing these products, I don't. 1 and 1 Internet ignores my communications and DMCA violation notices.
I've had to contact the web host to take it down but they only put it back up after a few months. I've had to contact search engines with the same results, it's taken off but then 1 and 1 must be resubmitting the site and it gets put back up.
I'm in the process of having to take legal action just to get them to stop. I've discovered that this is something 1 and 1 Internet Inc were sued for in 2008, you can see the legal judgment here http://domains.adrforum.com/domains/decisions/1036272.htm
My advice to you is to, at all costs, avoid doing business with this company.

1&1 Ionos - billing and customer service

Unauthorized charges, foreign customer service agents provide inaccurate information, customer service agents ignore billing complaints and charges, system doesn't allow you uncheck auto pay even when you never authorized it, and finally they sent me here after I insisted on speaking to a supervisor. You know this company has BIG problems when their customer service agents send you to a complaint board rather than address their issues. But now, how do I get rid of their big dogs...they have sent me to collection even though I am being auto billed for accounts closed months ago and in one case a year earlier! I am reporting to the Oregon's Attorney General Office where they have a complaint board and actually go after such scufflaws.

I signed up for the 30 day trial with them, just a little over a week ago.
THEN I started noticing all the terrible reviews.
Could you tell me what the unauthorized charges were for, in your own case ?

1&1 Ionos - continuing billing after canceling

I canceled this company services on january 2, 2010, both by internet and writing a physical letter to their physical address. I have been through a lot of harassment from them ever since, including their billing my credit card, their numerous emails by their always different representatives directing to do this and that to process the cancellation - going there and here on their site, that I followed many times; my nervous letters to them and requests to cancel their services, disputing their charges with my credit card; calling my credit card, writing to them packages and packages to support my dispute. How much of my time they have taken and how much stress and disturbance they have caused!
I have been an honest taxpayer teaching adult education students working 13 years for the same place. I do not deserve this. Nobody of their customers deserve this.
Now I see from internet many people have been experiencing the same from 1and1.com. This company has to be stopped harassing customers by their unfair business practices.
Please help to put an end to these dishonest business protecting many customers who they mistreat now and are going to mistreat in future.
Thank you,

Hi, Please read this.

I have somehow received a free trial from 1&1. It may have been triggered from a sales call from the USA. It resulted in an e-mail welcoming me to a free trial. The e-mail ended up unbeknown to me in my Spam Folder. And there it stayed. I am now being charged £70.00 per quarter for a service I did not ask for. I only became aware of this charge when I inspected my Pay-Pal account and saw the 1&1 debit. Incredulous as to the source of the charge I searched my mail account for 1&1 related e-mails. It was then I located the free trial details in my Spam folder.

At the foot of the 'Free Trial' introduction was a number to call should one choose not to use the service offered. Failure to call the number to cancel the trial within the specified time period automatically gives 1&1 the right to charge for the service. As I have an existing domain 1&1 have my payment details.

I am pretty devastated this has happened and the sharp practice used appears legal.

So, my message is 1and1 are using Stealth & sharp practice to sucker people into useless services at an outrageous cost. I call it white collared theft.

I asked for a refund as the package is unused, no contract has been signed and no invoice received by me. They rejected my request and here I am on this forum joining you as a disillusioned fellow victim. I am going to attack 1and1 in any way I legally can.

Watchdog next.

Many of us have had issues with 1&1 Internet. It’s time we got together to do something about it. They usually get away with the small charges because most people pay to make it go away (and 1&1 is extremely persisent over a couple dollars).

I’ve started a facebook group to start gathering people together to share stories and tactics to resolve any alleged wrongdoings:

1&1 Ionos - billing and collection scam

I started getting excessive phone calls from nco, a collection agency, followed by several letters. Eventually I got some letters in the mail from nco, indicating that they were attempting to collect on belhaf of 1 & 1 internet. I contacted 1 & 1 and was told that in the past I had purchased domains from them (Which is true) , and that it's their policy to automatically renew domains every year.In fact, they said that when a customer submits an order with them, they are authorizing them to rebill their credit cards year after year after year etc. There is no reasonable way to cancel this, and even if you transfer the domains to another registrar, that may not stop them from charging you.In my case the credit card on file was declined, so they renewed the domains anyway, froze the account, and sent my info to a collection agency. I offered to pay 1 and 1 directly, even though I did not agree with the charges, and they said that not only could I not pay them, but that if I sent payment to them in the mail that they would literally rip it apart. So basically they are charging me for services that I don't want without my real consent, and then freezing the account so I cannot use those services anyway, and then ransoming my credit for a payment they will not even accept themselves. Do not be lured in by their low domain prices, you will seriously regret ever giving this company your credit card information. Do an internet search and check the bbb, there are countless complaints against them and their fraudulent billing schemes.

I had never even heard of 1 & 1 Internet Inc. until I got a letter from a debt collector saying I owed them $138. I only found out after researching they are a domain business. I have never owned a website so I have no idea why they claim I owe them. Don't buy into their scams. I'm not.

I have for about two weeks now being trying to reach this company for I was hacked into and now I no longer can get into my email address. I had received an email from the company telling me that in order for me to keep my address I need to email them certain information to keep my account operating. I did not send the information the first time, telling them that I was uncomfortable with sending my information. I received and email about 5 days later asking for the same info but again i did not feel comfortable with that and I replied and told them this. I received another email, telling me that if i want to keep my account functioning that I need to send the information. So I sent the information everything was fine until two weeks ago. I received an email on my gmail account telling me that someone is using my name and emails trying to get people to send them money for them were robbed in another country and are trying to get home. Thank God that my friends new that was not true, for I am disabled and cant travel anywhere. My business contacts, documents and old photos of my family history were all taken not they cant be replaced. I was asked every two months to change my password and I did, now I have nothing, this company hasnt even bothered to call me concerning anything. I get an email saying, "we thank you for your info about your situation" thats it. I dont recommend this site to anyone. I left Yahoo for the same reason, no longer will i ever deal with this site again. They are a bunch of idiots, and they could care less about their customers. No phone number, no customer service they are a joke.

Good luck regaining control of your website if the account was set up under somebody else's name--like your webmaster, for instance, who went AWOL and no longer responds to email. 1&1 will take a week each time to respond to your ASAP requests to be granted access to your files, and when they do respond, it will only be to request more and more ridiculous info, from driver's license, passport and birth certificate to the actual meeting notes proving you're a legitimate company! I've had the misfortune of having two different clients who had their sites hosted at 1&1, and in both cases, I had to rebuild their sites from scratch, databases and all, with a new hosting company, because after months of struggling, my clients were unable to get 1&1 to furnish them with the administrative privileges associated with their account after the originator of the account vanished from existence. I can't believe they haven't been charged with kidnapping of web assets! DO NOT GIVE 1&1 YOUR BUSINESS! YOU WILL REGRET IT A MILLION TIMES OVER!

I ordered a domain from 1&1 one year ago with auto renew selected. Two weeks ago I received a billing notice saying that if you don't update your credit card and pay for renew, your 'service will discontinue automatically'. I didn't intend to keep the domain, so I didn’t pay to let the service discontinue. But I received another same billing the next day, so I cancelled the domain and asked them stop sending me the billing.

Long story short, they sent me another email requesting me to pay even after the cancellation. I cancelled on the 2nd day I received the billing, so I finally figured out that they purposely sent you the billing after the renew date so 'no matter what you do, you are late and will be asked to pay'. I professionally discussed the issue with billing supervisor with rude response.

Today I got an official letter threatening that if I don't pay they will forward it to a collection agent. I suggested finding an arbitrator to settle the dispute, they rejected again.

They don't have either my social security number or credit card. How can they damage my credit? It is a small amount, but I really don’t believe I should be responsible for their miscommunication. I will keep fighting.

Well there is not a lot I can add because I have read a lot of these reports listed with ripoff regarding 1&1 internet and they are all true, I have never dealt with a company that is so dishonest and the people working for them are as bad as the company itself.

They must have obtained them from some 3rd world Country for they are like robots that are made not to understand English. The education level of the employees must be 1st year no wonder they are hated so much. People talk about how bad the Company is but it is the Employees that make up the Company they are the ones that are responsible.

People cannot hide behind a Company name for they are the ones that are responsible don't ever forget that.

I was looking for a new website and the person I spoke to on the phone who signed me up gave me INCORRECT CONTRACT INFORMATION. She said I could cancel at any time.
I'm currently locked in to a contract that I was told didn't exist.

I was lied to, got the service because of the lie, and now I'm locked in a year long contract because of the lie.

I expect to have this contract voided immediately.

I FEEL LIKE I AM BEING SCAMED, BIG TIME.!
I BOUGHT A CHEAP DOMAIN NAME (THAT I NEVER USED FOR A WEBSITE) AND THEN AFTER 7 MONTHS, I RECIEVE A $20.00 BILL FROM 1&1 INTERNET HOSTING DOMAIN. THE BILL STATEMENT READ THAT I BOUGHT SOMETHING THAT I NEVER ORDERED! i EMAILED THEM THREE TIMES, NO RESPONCE. WHEN I CALLED 1&1 INTERENET BILLING DEPARTMENT, THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT ACCESS ANYONES ACCOUNT THAT THEY HAD SYSTEM PROBLEMS, BUT THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THAT I ORDERED A SERVICE THAT I NEVER DID (I DO NOT USE THE DOMAIN NAME IN QUESTION)! ALSO, THEY SAI D THEY WOULD TURN THIS BILL OVER TO A BILL COLECTOR BUT THEY COULD STILL NOT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT TO GO OVER THE BILL WITH ME...I FEEL CHEATED!

1&1 Ionos - billing me for services not provided

I signed up with them around 6 months ago because I thought they would be a perfect fit for me having no html experience. I quickly found out their site builder is extremely limited and that you had to pay extra too add your own stuff to the site. (Like html snippets that I did manage to create) Well the price would have been more expensive than Geocities or Homestead (I have used and loved both). I emailed them and asked them to cancel the order. Well a week ago they billed me for another 6 months and have not provided e any services. Its a complete joke and I would say GO ELSEWHERE, and that there are many many good companies out there. I mentioned 2 who are heads and shoulders above the rest if you have very limited knowledge of html. I asked them why they billed me again and they said it was a 12 month contract, and I don't remember a 12 month contract. So read the fine print from these con men or they will take your money and not deliver the service. The domains I had with them no longer work, so I can't even use the service. So heed my advice: STAY AWAY from 1and1

1&1 Ionos - bad service

I have been with 1and1.com for a couple of years. I have purchased many domain names. They recently contacted me to advise their rates have gone up.

I told them I will be transferring to GoDaddy any domains I want to keep and letting any I no longer want, expire.

I also advised numerous times to STOP automatically renewing domain names and that I do not want my credit card charged not one more dime.

The day AFTER I transferred a domain name to GoDaddy, 1and1.com sent me an invoice for another year for that same domain.

I contacted them and talked to Damien Christopher, a supervisor in the Billing Dept. He was extremely rude, and he hung up on me.

I want to warn anyone thinking about doing business with 1 and 1 Internet to think twice before giving your credit card information over to them. They bill me monthly for charges I never authorized and I cannot get any cooperation in removing my credit card info.

this company 1 & 1 is really to the worst company

I registered a domain with this company, additionally after 2 days, I received a call from a representative of 1 & 1, offering a package named MyWebSite, after I asked various technical things and have received no response to my needs, I accepted the contract which included one month free and at no additional cost if by chance I had deleted the first of the current month from activation, I called the next day to get information on how to give this package MyWebSite the domain that I bought earlier, I was given support is to give this package the domain in question, after which I noticed that this package of MyWebSite was not what the rapresentante offer me a few days earlier, I called 1 & 1 to erase the package MyWebSite, the representative I waited, I asked if he wanted to remove the domain in this package, I told him that no absolutely not, he told me that he had to clean out only the package MyWebSite and leave the domain in its place, after about an hour I received an email saying that the domain was deleted, along with the package MyWebSite, I called for an explanation, I was told that no wax is another way of getting your domain back, and that if by chance I wanted, I had to pay the transference domain and that perhaps the domain had already been put on auction, angry I asked to speak with the supervisor, I was refusing to speak to a supervisor, so I got angry and asked him that I had a one-year contract with this domain I wanted it back, there was no way I was told that at this point even if the mistakes he did the operator where I cancel the domain as well, and that the only alternative was to pay CANCELLATIONS and transference, in a nutshell, he commit errors and you must pay for their mistakes

I didn't want to renew certain domains that were to be charged to my account, they were not flexible at all. I've been a client for 5 years. Every time I have an issue no one can resolve.

1&1 Ionos - cancellation problems

After signing up for a website w/www.1and1.com, I saw right away I did not like it and I cancelled in less than 24hrs w/o building or publishing a site (They have a 90 day money back guarantee). At first they acknowledged cancellation, then about a week later I got an email saying they tried to charge my credit card and it was denied (I stopped my card from...

1&1 Ionos - Internet hosting-one and one problems!

Today my website’s is down because 1and1 internet disabled the website’s admin control panel since they failed to charge my credit card for the monthly hosting fee which is around $7. They did that without my notice, they did not even give me email notice. Suddenly, my website is completely down and I had no idea, but I can only called 1and1 internet customer service I made three calls and every call keep me waiting about 18 minutes. After the 3rd call (5 hours later), I checked my site and it was working eventually. I should have transferred my domain name 1 month ago if I have knowledge about php and my sql.

I hate to deal with their customer service. Last year, when I want to cancel my vps package, I called them and did it according to what the rep told me. But their cancellation procedure is a little complicated and tricky. Only after one month that my credit card was debited one more month’s fee did I recognize that my vps is still active. Actually, this is my only site which is still hosted by 1and1.com. I have transferred the other 5 websites to other hosting company since 1and1.com left me such bad bad experience

One more thing which is worth pointing out is that 1and1 internet continually send us email so frequently and I can only delete their email every time. I don’t even read its since I know 99% of them are all spam emails. They keep bombing my email address for the whole year. I am not against company sending valuable emails to customers, what I am against is you can not send customer emails too many times.

What I am writing this about article is everybody who is considering a web hosting company should carefully research before you make your decision. Of course, I don’t recommend 1and1.com. They throw the most dollars onto the major business related magazines and they ever buy 10 pages whole page ads on one famous tech magazine. But what they deliver is the world’s worst hosting and very bad customer service. I am very curious why such a crook company can still survive in a competitive hosting marketing.

Thank you for posting this Kelli. I hope your lawsuit worked out in your favor.
1 and 1 Internet stole my website (content, design etc) then added links to products. I'm a doc so it looks as if I'm endorsing them. You mentioned that several attorneys have approached you, would you be kind enough to share their names here? I just got their web host to take it down (did the DMCA notice) for the second time. Third time I will sue them so I'd like an attorney with knowledge of them. I've also had to contact search engines to take it off the searches (it actually competes with my real site).

Also, I wonder if the sea of people writing complaints about them, not just here but elsewhere on the Internet, can get together for a class action civil suit. One of your attorneys might be interested in that.
Here's a judgment against them for stealing another person's website: http://domains.adrforum.com/domains/decisions/1036272.htm

get at. So sorry you all, who were paying customers, got the shaft. What a nightmare.

The lack of professionalism exhibited in the post by 1and1support ("PEOPLE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT SUCH THINGS ARE THOSE WHO KEEP ON COMPLAINING. THEY ARE NOT JUST RUBBISH BUT SIMPLY ###S!") only serves to underscore the complaints being made not only on this board, but on many other boards that I've checked out when I began doing my due diligence on this company. I came into this experience as a mere designer, with my friend's son signing up with 1 & 1 for their company's web hosting services. Time and time again, I've experienced mediocre customer service at best (once, maybe twice, I hit upon a rep that actually knew what they were talking about, but it was rare.) For the most part, the reps sounded like they were reading off of a script. When I asked them more complex questions regarding coding (keep in mind, I'm just a designer, my coding skills are limited to basic HTML, CSS and PHP) I would be placed on hold for several minutes. When I pressed the issue, the rep finally confessed that they were "not qualified to help in that capacity". I ended up getting help from fellow designers who are also developers in making sure that the coding was correct. Now that the site is up, I'm still having problems with the mail.php file not directing users to the correct page like it should.

I am recommending that my friend move her site to another host service, and after reading the complaints, had the foresight to save the auth codes should she run into any problems in moving her domain.

1and1support if you were doing things right then why do you have so many complaints. Your service is crap and so is your customer service. You can get a better deal on yahoo (which I used after 1and1 and am very pleased with. They bill me and I pay plus I don't pay extra for the crap you charge for. Look on this board and look at the number of complaints. There are many other sites with same thing. Obviously you guys are going to have to do something different if you want people to stop complaining. Yeah the basic hosting is cheap till you see that they will lock you in for a year. These guys arescumbags in my book and hopefully they go down. I paid for service that I never used. When I contacted support via email, I got no reply. What a joke

Basically, paying your bills is your major responsibility. You should be responsible enough to track down all your bills. If you give importance to your packages and accounts, you should take note the exact due date of your account. Don't blame 1and1 for locking your account that was caused by your negligence. Where can you find a company that continuously give you a service without them being paid? Who the heck are you? you must be too lucky to have that kind of service. Put yourself in the side of 1and1. What will you do if you are not being paid by your customer? what shall you do to his account? Be fair!

And the most important thing.. "PEOPLE WHO DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT SUCH THINGS ARE THOSE WHO KEEP ON COMPLAINING. THEY ARE NOT JUST RUBBISH BUT SIMPLY ###S!

P.S. YOU! Simon Jones. You shouldn't get some hosting packages to any company if you do not know what are the basic policy of every company that you have annoyed with! you are such an annoyance and even pretended as an educated person well in fact you act as not!

1and1 have a hidious record. I had reason to complain to them a while back, their call operators based in London were hardly able to speak English.

In the end I decided to record the calls and create a website about the complaint. Then I sent them a link and wouldn't you know it all of a sudden they were able to see my side of things far clearer.

I am also a victim of 1 and 1 Internet, and have secured legal counsel. The local tv station also interviewed me and said they are looking into the company too since they have so many complaints. Can't believe this joke of a company still does business in this country. Hopefully, not for long.

BTW-Brandon in sales has lied to me and my employees repeatedly, and refused to assist us.

1 & 1 Internet is a horrible company, but some recourse is possible! Not only am I a very disgruntled customer after they lied to me repeatedly after reselling a name I had registered and paid for with them, but I am an investigative journalist. In the last 8 months, I have written more than 30 articles, interviewed more than 200 people who have been blatantly wronged by 1 & 1 Internet, talked to several consumer groups and interested attorneys, and worked with over 60 radio and TV stations on this story. Everyone has been very interested, and the investigation continues. If you have had an issue with the company, you can do the following make a difference, and get your justice:

1.) File a complaint with the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s office at www.pa.gov, or call the investigator Madelaine Dakour directly at [protected]. They have already received a large number of complaints, and have escalated the investigation, so make sure and contact them.
2.) File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau where they already have a completely Unsatisfactory rating by going to www.bbb.org
3.) File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at www.ftc.gov
4.) File a complaint with your state consumer advocacy group through the Attorney General’s office or Secretary of State’s office. Indiana’s is www.indianaconsumer.com
5.) Explore your state’s legislative code and find out where they stand on mandatory arbitration clauses. The Federal Arbitration Act has been shot down by state courts if they find the 1 & 1 contract to be “unconscionable” and without “mutuality” as they offer nothing for the consumer. More and more courts are ruling in favor of consumers, especially with terms and conditions that allow for illegal activity. Breach of contract, fair trade laws, fraud, and consumer laws are the tip of the legal iceberg for 1 & 1.
6.) I’m working with station affiliates of each of the major TV networks, and you can help by contacting your local station through the main sites at www.cbs.com, www.nbc.com, www.abc.com, and www.foxnews.com. Contact the investigative reporter, or simply send a news tip to the newsroom and they will follow up. Chances are, they are already aware of the major problems with the company.
7.) Keep meticulous records!

My lawsuit is pending, and I’ve been inundated with law firms wanting to take on the abysmal business practices, or lack thereof, with 1 & 1. The blatant disregard for the consumers has gotten the attention of the legal community, media, and consumers all across the country and by banding together, we can get some justice. You do not have to succumb to their tactics!

Best wishes,
