As someone who has explored Zoosk, I have mixed feelings about this online dating platform. On one hand, the variety of matches and options available right from the start is engaging and keeps you interested. I subscribed to two other online dating sites and was very disappointed with one of them. It had too many scammers on there. The other dating site was able to catch and name the scammer and notify me by email, blocking them from contacting me again! That was a great service offered by them. However, I decided to try Zoosk after seeing an add while I was in my facebook and I am so very glad I did! I met the love of my life there and only ran into one scammer on my journey. :D Thank you, Zoosk!

You literally get what you put into it. Stay focus! Stay on point! Approach it as if your life depended on it - quite frankly it does, right? I mean, that's why you're here, right. You will meet someone! But it may not happen overnight. Don't give up. Don't be afraid to send a follow-up message. It happened for me three weeks after sending my first message - which, in my situation, is like an eternity, just about when I was about to give up. Good luck, friends. I hope you find your love like I did - on Zoosk!

Dating apps are a hit and miss. On Zoosk.com I liked that you could photo verify a profile and see that they are who they say they are. When Richard send me a wink and I winked back we hit it off right off the bat. We met that weekend. I took precautions as to not give him my full name nor address. After two weeks of getting to know each other I ran a background check on him and everything matched with what he had told me. We dated since June 2016, got engaged July 8,2018, and then got married sept. 22,2018. We have been married for two years and loving it! After being a widow for 2.5 years and being married to my late husband for 21 yrs. I didnt think it was possible to find someone online, but we did! We are so happy!

I'm giving this site a great review because I met a great guy. I do want to say though that it's very overwhelming... too many messages from too many people. I don't like rejecting people and this site kinda makes you. Sometimes for no reason other than you can't really talk to so many people at the same time... at least I didn't want to. I'm sure there are several good guys who I didn't reply to just because there were so many. Not sure how I would fix this issue but maybe if you could only message the person once they have "liked" each other's profile? Also that one thing where they pic a match for you and all you can see is a picture? Really don't like that at all. Looks are part of connecting but to me a small part. I want to know about them before I say if I think they could be a match.

So, I've been trying out a bunch of dating websites lately and decided to give Zoosk another chance. I had tried it before and it wasn't great, but I figured maybe things had improved. Unfortunately, it seems like it's still not very good - in fact, it might even be worse.

I signed up yesterday and everything seemed fine at first. The interface was easy to use and there were some attractive women on the site. I found a woman who lived near me and seemed nice, so I tried to send her a message. But I couldn't, because I would need to pay for a subscription. I guess that's fair enough - you can't expect everything to be free. So instead, I sent her a wink and clicked the "added" button, thinking that would add her to my favorites list.

But then some weird things started happening. Almost immediately, I got a notification that she had sent me a message - but I couldn't read it without a subscription. I was excited at first, thinking this was a really great site where I could actually meet someone. But then I tried sending a wink to another woman and the same thing happened. I started to get suspicious.

Later, I noticed that the "added" button I had clicked had actually sent her a "chat request" - which wasn't what I had intended at all. So now I was sending out inaccurate messages without even realizing it.

I decided to do some investigating and tried to Google the first woman using her photo. I actually found her LinkedIn page and sent her an email to her work address. I wouldn't normally do this, but I felt like I had a legitimate reason - I wanted to know if Zoosk was a scam. The next day, she replied and told me politely that she hadn't sent me a message and hadn't been on the site in over a year.

Tonight, I tried using the "added" button again on another woman and got another "message" from her. But when I looked at the notification on different browsers, it said different things - one said she had sent me a chat, the other said she had sent me a message.

I'm getting all sorts of notifications from different people now, which is more interest than I ever got on POF. But I've read a lot of bad reviews about Zoosk and how it's a scam site. I take those with a grain of salt, because some people just expect everything to be free. But there are also a lot of guys who are bitter about online dating in general.

All that being said, my experience with Zoosk has been pretty dubious so far. I wouldn't trust it based on what I've seen and what I've read in other reviews. My advice is to be careful and suspicious - there might be some genuine people on there, but you might have better luck elsewhere.

I remember placing my first personal ad in a newspaper 23 years ago, where I met my late wife. I was hesitant to respond to her ad at first, but she ended up answering mine. After our first date, I knew she was the one and proposed right then and there. I have never regretted it for a single second. Personal ads do work, but it all depends on what you put into your profile.

If you want to have a good experience on dating sites like Zoosk, you need to put effort into your profile. However, be careful because these sites have one purpose: to separate you from your money. If you opt for a full subscription with all the bells and whistles, your experience will likely be a positive one. But if you try to use a "bargain" subscription, everything is geared towards getting you to upgrade. So, be aware of what you're getting into.

I have proof of Zoosk's mercenary methods. They sell "coins" that you can use to buy "gifts, services, and upgrades." I had a balance in coins that would pay for "read receipts" (to see if a message has been read or not). You can use coins to buy a single read receipt for 35 coins or $14.95 in coins for the upgrade. The first time I used Zoosk, I bought the $14.95 upgrade. This was my second time on Zoosk, and I had not bought the upgrade. According to the support tech, they were "upgrading their services," and because I had bought the upgrade my first time on Zoosk, I could use coins to buy anything else on the site EXCEPT the upgrade that I wanted. The only way I could get a read receipt was to pay cash for the $14.95 upgrade. It took me ten minutes of rephrasing the statement before the tech agreed that I was correct. This type of treatment REALLY gets me angry, and my rating for Zoosk went from 3 to 1 stars.

I have to be honest; most of the original problems I had with Zoosk were because I did not update my email forwarder when my IP host moved me to a new server, so I did not receive the contact emails Zoosk sent me. I have had others agree with me that if you try a bargain subscription, then everything revolves around upgrading. You have no positive way to know if someone you have tried to contact knows you exist (this was my fault). The help is circular, and the support people restate the obvious. After going around in circles, it became quite obvious that the entire site was designed to prevent contact and to force you to spend more money. However, I must give them credit for policing their site. I get far fewer "ladies of the night" and scammers than I did on Match.com.

I want to extend a strong caution to women. From the stories I hear, the scammers and men cheating on their wives are much worse for you. BE CAREFUL. There are good men out there (like me), but the people working the scams and hookers are extremely sophisticated and, I believe, are doing psychological profiling to target individuals. I put a lot into my profile, which makes me an easy target. I have had two hookers admit that they had been coached on how to approach me. But if you are like me, and this is the only way of meeting anyone, JUST BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL.

I gotta say, Zoosk was pretty interesting. I was getting a ton of "views" on my profile, but I started to wonder if they were all real. I messaged this one woman and she said she never even saw my profile before. That's kinda sketchy, right?

I sent a bunch of messages to different people, but a lot of them didn't respond. It's hard to tell if they're even paid subscribers, so I don't know if they're seeing my messages or not. Zoosk keeps telling me that people are online and want to chat, but I'm not sure if that's even true.

I was talking to this one woman who seemed too good to be true. Her profile said she went to USC, but when I asked her about her favorite spot in the area, she got super angry. I think she might have been lying about going to USC or maybe she wasn't even real.

I decided to take a break from Zoosk for a while, but I came back after six weeks. They changed things up and now you have to pay even more money to see if someone opened your message. I sent a bunch of messages to local women, but only got a couple of responses. It seems like a lot of these profiles are either old or fake.

I got notifications that two women wanted to meet me, but I had to pay coins to unlock their contact info. I did it, but I never heard back from them. I sent out almost 100 messages and only got a few responses. I even had two more notifications that someone wanted to chat, but when I reached out to them, they said they didn't want to talk to me. What's up with that?

I'm not sure if Zoosk is worth the money. Maybe it works better for some people, but it didn't work for me. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not that attractive or if the profiles are just fake. Either way, I'm done with Zoosk.

Warning, stay away from Zoosk! This site is totally nasty at every turn. The lying, manipulative, and deceitful staffers at the Zoosk control board are scammers of the lowest sort, beneath contempt. The final straw for me was when I was viewing the "carousel" feature on April 4th, 2017 at 10:41 am EST from Medford, Mass. I came across a profile for Anne Frank. Yes, THE Anne Frank of Nazi holocaust fame. Anne Frank is looking to date? Really, Zoosk? This is the best you can do? I have the screen shot. Contact me. This is the whole disgusting truth about Zoosk.

Zoosk posted a picture of a dead minor child on the site for any and all to see and get a date with! And her name was clearly posted, not even a screen name of sorts. Who does this? Zoosk does! Sickening at every turn. Holy hell, give the dead girl a rest, would you Zoosk? Please, give it a rest. It gets worse. Zoosk claims that Anne Frank is 87 years old. Her "likes" are reading and ice cream. She lives in Hesperia, California. Anne Frank's "ideal date" is going out and getting some ice cream and after that to go to a book store and get some books. Anne Frank likes the bible? What?

Zoosk is an awful bunch, very coarse and spiteful. Danger, stay away. I was sickened and enraged. I sent "Anne Frank" a note expressing my horror, sadness, and disgust for the sick game that Zoosk seems to enjoy. I ripped Zoosk up one side and down the other, knowing full well Zoosk robotic filters would pick it up and be read by the knuckle dragging sewer scum that are the Zoosk staffers.

I then posted a nasty screen name, a nasty fake profile, and nasty interests. "Serial killer slasher" was my screen name. I live in Beverly Hills, Calif. 90210. I posted fake, inane photos. I started "winking" at any and all "women" posted, and when and if they replied, I warned them of a scam and to be careful. I cancelled my subscription, blocked my credit card, and deleted my account. But Zoosk won't let it go. They keep you online till the end of your time period, urging you to renew your membership and sending false winks, views, and alerts the whole time. Yikes, they are like a bad rash, but worse.

After many false winks by me, Serial killer Slasher, to other members, trying to get Zoosk's attention, they dropped me. Thank god. Every word of what I stated is true. I have the screen shots and will share/post them if requested. Please contact me at any time and help shut these sick perverts down.

As depraved as California has become, there must be a law against exploitation of a minor. There are other pictures of minors posted by Zoosk as well. Who's next, Shirley Temple? Obama's daughters? Zoosk has crossed the line with me for the last time. I'd like to see Child Protective Services seize all their files and padlock the door in preparation for a shutdown of this "dating site." It's the least they can do.

Zoosk is bad. Zoosk is evil. Zoosk is sick. Zoosk is a fraud/scam site unlike any others. Enough of Zoosk. Stay away.

This company, Zoosk, has some serious issues with their business ethics. I had the same experience as others who have left comments here. I chose the six-month price and entered my credit card number, only to be hit with an additional fee of $25 for an "activation fee." Zoosk didn't explain this beforehand, and there was no way to go back or cancel the transaction. Is that even legal? The next day, I received an email from Zoosk offering to waive the fee if I registered and paid within 24 hours. I recommend doing what I did - start the registration process, then exit the page and register the next day to avoid the fee. It's not right for Zoosk to hide fees until after they have your credit card number. As consumers, we shouldn't stand for this kind of slimeball behavior.

After a week or so, I decided to join anyway, despite my reservations about Zoosk's ethics. I've been a member for almost six months now, and I haven't received a single message back from anyone I've contacted. Maybe non-members don't get the messages, I don't know. What bothers me more is that Zoosk wants you to pay more to see if the person you contacted read your message, or to send it more quickly. I thought that once I paid to be a member, I'd have full use of the service. But no, Zoosk nickel and dimes you for more. It's all too common in our business-before-ethics culture.

Zoosk also wants to validate your phone number or photo to boost your "popularity," but to do that, they want access to your Facebook data. Maybe that's not so bad, but it's a turn-off for me. Do they really think I'll be more popular or desirable if I share my Facebook data and friends list with them?

Oh, and one more thing - Zoosk automatically puts its members in "automatic renewal" status. That means they'll automatically renew and charge your credit card when your subscription runs out. Lots of web-based businesses do this, but Zoosk doesn't give you the option to approve or disapprove automatic renewal. A business operating in good faith would send a message asking for approval before charging your card. But Zoosk doesn't care about customer goodwill. They figure if you forget to renew, they'll just charge you for the next pay period. To quit, you have to go into your settings and unsubscribe before your subscription is up.

As for the actual functioning of the Zoosk website, I can't really say. I haven't gotten a date or made contact with anyone in the five and a half months I've been a member. Maybe it works fine, but for me, Zoosk's business ethics are a real turn-off. I was a member of Chemistry.com for a while, and I think they're better at least in their business dealings.

I gotta say, I did some research on Zoosk and there are a lot of people out there saying it's a scam. But I'm still gonna give my two cents, because why not?

Here's the thing that really grinds my gears about Zoosk: the difference between the attention you get before and after you pay. When you first sign up, you get bombarded with messages and potential matches. But as soon as you pay, it's like all those people disappear. It's pretty obvious that a lot of those initial messages were fake profiles or bots or something. And it's insulting that Zoosk thinks we're dumb enough to believe that people are actually interested in us based solely on a username and age.

Another thing that Zoosk relies on is fake feedback loops. They'll flood your empty profile with likes and views, but as soon as you fill out your profile, that attention drops off. And then they'll tell you that someone viewed your profile, but that doesn't mean anything. It's just a way to keep you coming back to the site. And don't even get me started on the digital gifts. If you're gonna buy someone a gift, make it a real one, not some cheesy Zoosk thing.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Zoosk. It's just not worth the money or the frustration. There are plenty of other dating sites out there that are more legit and less scammy.

This site is a total waste of time and money. If you're a man, don't even bother. The chances of actually talking to a real woman are slim to none. The site is filled with fake profiles, fake views, and fake notifications. You'll receive notifications that someone wants to chat with you or meet you, but when you try to chat with them, you never receive a response. It's like being told by a bully in school that a girl likes you, but when you go to talk to her, she has no interest in you.

I received an email notification that someone wanted to meet me, but the picture in the email looked 1-2 decades off of the stated age, and she was listed as being local, but the picture had an out-of-state telephone number written over the face of the lady. When I logged into Zoosk, I noticed no such person ever even viewed my profile. According to reviews at Consumer Affairs, this is a very common occurrence with Zoosk.

I played the carousel to about 50% of potential matches, most of which were not even in my same state, and within a couple of minutes, had 4-5 'views' from the same women, most from out of state and surely wouldn't have bothered looking if they were real women. Another very common Zoosk failure.

One young lady I'd sent a message to earlier yesterday allegedly 'viewed' me again, and I saw a message pop up saying that she wanted to chat. So I clicked to her profile to begin chatting and noticed she hadn't even read the first message I'd sent. Many hours later, after midnight, my phone received a notification that my message had been read, and I noticed she had sent me a message, too. I decided to wait until the morning to view it.

I received a ONE-WORD REPLY -- 'yes' to asking if she lived in the same city with the rest of the chat completely ignored, and yet it now shows we're listed as a 'connection,' lol... I replied, 'Nice,' as it was obvious I was wasting my time. I then shortly later receive a notice that she wanted to chat. I also paid to see that she had allegedly read my last message. So I sent a message stating the app notified me that she wanted to chat, and I asked if she would like to chat a little. That was read but not replied to. Then just a bit later I get the notification again that she wants to chat, though she never does...

This is all experienced in just 2 days since I became a paying member and posted one profile pic. I've since uploaded a few more that I felt were a little better just to see if anything might happen. And I filled out all the information -- story, interests, ideal match, etc... So far, nada except for 2-3 views from the same ones that live a state away and are almost surely bots, anyway. They can't even get bots from the city I live in to play mind games? Lol.

In the end, upon realizing you've paid for 3 months of what basically amounts to a horrible carnival ride full of fake garbage with nothing more to see beyond the first 1-1.5 days, it's better to accept and take the loss and to avoid wasting any more time or energy on the site. I can only say it's made me feel worse about myself in not being completely 100% confident that real women just won't respond to me, though I'm pretty sure it's all bots. It just amazes me that Zoosk is somehow in ANY measure considered one of the top dating sites. What a sham(e). I would have been far better off spending the money and time on self-improvement, which is the way to try and gain interest from women you can actually meet. Hopefully a civil lawsuit will be brought forth at some point and could help reform or even simply help lead to putting such scams out of business. I will post this same review on Consumer Affairs, where there are even far fewer positive reviews.

If there were some way to give less than one star here and there, I would do so.

So, I got sucked into paying for a Zoosk subscription so I could read my messages. And let me tell you, I was matched with a ton of men! It was overwhelming, but also exciting. I started chatting with a few different guys, and one in particular caught my eye. He lived pretty far away, but we hit it off and he asked to chat on the phone. I gave him my number and we talked and texted a lot. Eventually, he invited me to come visit him and even paid for my trip! We had a great time together and really connected. I was excited to see him again, but then he got sick and was in the hospital for weeks. I talked to him every day and even communicated with his daughter when things were really bad. But then, out of nowhere, he stopped responding to me. I was left wondering what happened, and then I found out he had lied to me about being divorced twice. He actually had a third marriage and divorce, and had even committed tax fraud! I was so disappointed and hurt.

But I didn't give up on Zoosk. I started talking to another guy who was a little closer to me, and we made plans to meet up. But then he cancelled on me at the last minute, saying he was sick. I was disappointed, but I understood. We rescheduled for the next week, and he even sent me a text the night before with plans for where we would eat and what time he would arrive. But then he didn't call me when he said he would, and when I tried to contact him, he didn't answer. He finally texted me back, saying he had been sleeping and couldn't come see me. I was so frustrated and disappointed, especially when I found out he had lied about being divorced and was actually just separated.

I don't want to discourage anyone from using Zoosk, but I do want to warn women to be careful. Just because someone has verified photos and phone numbers doesn't mean they're being honest. I wish I had done more background checking before getting involved with these men. But I'm still hopeful that I can find someone on Zoosk who is honest and kind. I'm currently dating a man who lives nearby and has been a true gentleman. I hope my experiences can help other women be more cautious and avoid getting hurt like I did.

Users may withdraw their consent to receive Electronic Records by contacting Zoosk in writing. However, the Services provided by Zoosk are only available if users agree to receive Electronic Records. If users withdraw their consent, their account will be deactivated.

Users can obtain a paper copy of an Electronic Record by contacting Zoosk in writing. Zoosk may charge a reasonable fee to cover the costs of printing and sending the requested Electronic Record.

To use Zoosk, users must be at least 18 years old, have never been convicted of any criminal offense characterized as a sexual offense, have not previously been suspended or removed from the Services, are entitled to enter into the Agreement and to abide by all of the terms and conditions of the Agreement, are not a competitor of Zoosk and are not using the Services for reasons that are in competition with Zoosk or other than for its intended purpose, and are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country which the United States has embargoed, identified as a "Specially Designated National" or placed on the Commerce Department's Table of Deny Orders.

Users may only use the Services, including the posting of any content through the Services, in a manner consistent with the Agreement and any and all applicable laws. Users may not use the Services in countries where the Services are prohibited. Users will only create one unique profile for use of the Services. They will not include any telephone numbers, street addresses, URLs, multimedia, artworks downloaded from external sources, email addresses, or any other contact information in their profile or in any other publicly viewable User Content or other communications made in connection with their use of the Services. Additionally, they will not include their last name in their dating profile.

Writing this, I did some confirmation research and have already found the limitless trove of "Zoosk is a scam" almost anywhere you can Google it. I'm posting it anyway because I've written it already.

What gets me is why hasn't the main stream media outed this yet? This would be a great Dateline investigation piece.

There are two main indicators that Zoosk is a largely fraud-operation running scam:

1. Is the monumental disparity between the amount of messages/attention/potential (fake) profiles you are presented with before you pay, and the complete lack of all aforementioned AFTER you pay.

If the amount of attention a user account with no profile information or even a picture gets 10 emails in it's first week, with no profile and a picture, then how is it that once the profile is filled out and a picture is uploaded those magic emails suddenly drop to nothing.
Does Zoosk really think people believe that people are so desperate that they've resorted to spending their daily time on Zoosk writing emails to and wanting to meet someone based solely on a username and an age? Also, how dumb does Zoosk think that people are to believe that people are really interested in contacting completely un-filled-out empty profiles, when there are thousands of already filled-out profiles are at their disposal?
If after you've paid, you can barely get a person to read your email, if a person who is willing to reach out to a completely unknown stranger for no apparent reason, then critical *criticallogic should follow that they are literally willing to accept ANYTHING as a real match.

2. They rely heavily on faked feedback loops. Feedback loops are when you get a "Like" or a "Comment" on Facebook. It keeps you coming back for more. Zoosk relies heavily on this pseudo-psychological element to whet your appetite. At first they'll flood your completely empty un-filled-out profile with people who are interested, then interest drops dramatically after you fill out your profile. "What happened? Did people just decided that they didn't like me? I have to investigate. I need to reach out to more people!" - proceeds to contact 300 profiles. Unintentional or otherwise, this is how it works out there.

These are things that keep people coming back to the site: "Did someone like or reply to my email?" Zoosk manufactures a ton of feedback loops saying, "A person has viewed your profile."

Everyone has to "view" whichever/whatever profile Zoosk decides to throws in their face. It's literally not an indicator of anything. If anything else, they saw your picture and thought they'd look at your profile based on age and location, since that's the only thing they have to go on anyway.

If you do the "Search" option, you are automatically presented with profiles, which you are now viewing. How Zoosk decides if what constitutes as a "view" is anyone's guess, but they've now turned you into "a potentially interested person."

These are not true indicators of any kind of real interest, especially if they're not followed up by any kind of real follow-ups. Zoosk feeds people's false hopes by telling people that people have viewed their profiles. What's worse is I think that there are probably some poor souls out there who actually believe that this is some standard way of flirting on Zoosk, and think that people are just being coy or playing hard to get. "I need to pursue this person harder! Oh! I know! I will buy them a gift!"
I wonder how many real matches resulted from some poor schmuck chunking out coins on gifts resulted in an actual date.

It's very common knowledge that guys who buy women things first, convey that they have no value and have to spend money in order to get women's attention. What's even more cheesy is the flip side of that, is if after you've gotten to know a girl on Zoosk and you buy her one of those one-bit cheapo digital gifts, then you really seem bogus. If you've gotten to know her, dude, show some originality. Buy her a REAL GIFT. Not some cheesy dating site unoriginal term of endearment. Some girls say they like guys to buy them a drink and some are telling the truth, but to be quite honest it's more of a test to see if you're "just another one of those guys who'll just buy me things."

As you can see by these reviews, women seem to at least be able to talk to and meet actual people and generally (though certainly not always) post more favorable reviews. Some may have some complaints more along the lines of how lame some guys were. At least they talked with real guys. But if you are a man, apart from a very few who can probably get action anywhere, the chances of ever actually talking to a human female are extremely low. The site seems stacked with:
1) FAKE profiles
2) FAKE views
3) FAKE notifications that someone wants to chat with you
4) FAKE notifications that someone wants to meet you, etc...
Then you try to chat with someone after receiving a notification that the person wants to chat with you, and you NEVER receive a response. It's like being told by a bully in school, "Hey, that girl said she likes you; go talk to her!" Then, of course, you go and the girl has absolutely no interest in you.
I received an e-mail notification that someone wanted to meet me; the pic in the email looked 1-2 decades off of the stated age, and she was listed as being local, but the picture had an out-of-state telephone number written over the face of the lady (which I've heard means the chance is high of the person being a prostitute, if it's even a real person voluntarily posting a pic). Then when I logged into Zoosk, I noticed no such person ever even viewed my profile. According to reviews at Consumer Affairs, this is a very common occurence with Zoosk.
Then I played the carousel to about 50% of potential matches, most of which were not even in my same state, and within a couple minutes had 4-5 'views' from the same women, most, again, from out of state and surely wouldn't have bothered looking if they were real women. Again, another very common Zoosk failure.
Then one young lady I'd sent a message to earlier yesterday allegedly 'viewed' me again, and I saw a message pop up saying that she wanted to chat. So I clicked to her profile to begin chatting and noticed she hadn't even read the first message I'd sent (BTW, you have to pay to see if someone has read any messages sent to them each time after...) Many hours later, after midnite, my phone received a notification that my message had been read, and I noticed she had sent me a message, too. I decided to wait until the morning to view it.
I received a ONE-WORD REPLY -- 'yes' to asking if she lived in the same city with the rest of the chat completely ignored, and yet it now shows we're listed as a 'connection,' lol... I replied, 'Nice,' as it was obvious I was wasting my time. I then shortly later receive a notice that she wanted to chat. I also paid to see that she had allegedly read my last message. So I sent a message stating the app notified me that she wanted to chat, and I asked if she would like to chat a little. That was read but not replied to. Then just a bit later I get the notification again that she wants to chat, though she never does...
This is all experienced in just 2 days since I became a paying member and posted one profile pic. I've since uploaded a few more that I felt were a little better just to see if anything might happen. And I filled out all the information -- story, interests, ideal match, etc... So far, nada except for 2-3 views from the same ones that live a state away and are almost surely bots, anyway. They can't even get bots from the city I live in to play mind games? Lol. I hadn't used a dating site since I met my recent wife of 5 years on Match, but I've been able to at least talk to and meet a few women via Match, and I at least had a fairly lengthy conversation over a few days and nearly met up with one lady via Plenty of Fish ~ 6 years ago.
I sincerely doubt the same would happen on Zoosk regardless of how much time (and $) I invested. How can guys be motivated to put effort into messages they know almost certainly won't ever be seen by a real person? You'd be better off trying to make a match with a hardened political oppenent you'd have an argument with online, as at least that person exists. Hopefully Match and POF haven't gone heavily in this direction, as well.
*ALSO, I WILL MAKE SURE TO CANCEL MY DEBIT CARD BEFORE CANCELING THE SERVICE, AS MANY REVIEWS ON THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS SITE MENTION THAT THE COMPANY WILL STILL CHARGE YOU AFTER CANCELLING. YOU'RE MADE TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT WHEN USING PAYPAL THAT THEY CAN USE WHATEVER OTHER METHOD OF PAYMENT IS ON THE ACCOUNT, SO I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO DELETE MY BANK OFF THERE AROUND THAT TIME, AS WELL.
In the end, upon realizing you've paid for 3 months of what basically amounts to a horrible carnival ride full of fake garbage with nothing more to see beyond the first 1-1.5 days, it's better to accept and take the loss and to avoid wasting any more time or energy on the site. I can only say it's made me feel worse about myself in not being completely 100% confident that real women just won't respond to me, though I'm pretty sure it's all bots. It just amazes me that Zoosk is somehow in ANY measure considered one of the top dating sites. What a sham(e). I would have been far better off spending the money and time on self-improvement, which is the way to try and gain interest from women you can actually meet. Hopefully a civil lawsuit will be brought forth at some point and could help reform or even simply help lead to putting such scams out of business. I will post this same review on Consumer Affairs, where there are even far fewer positive reviews.If there were some way to give less than one star here and there, I would do so.

I was locked out of my 3 month subscription one month in according to the company for " inconsistencies" which were never revealed to me because there were none. Nonetheless, they requested my ID which I promptly provided and they unlocked my account but did not reinstate my active subscription. I have emailed them 3 times now and have not received a response or had my subscription resumed seeing as how I would have a little over a month left on my subscription.

99% of these profiles are either fake or expired. For a test while I was a member I hit the like button on many many women. Sent them a message, but never heard back from the ones I selected. Right after I quit( although my profile still exists after almost 6 mothe, then hit the like button on the same eomen who I never heard back from, but wow! All of them want to hear from me now. Of course, after I rejoin and pay. So I did that as a follow up on my experiment, and low and behold , NONE ever responded back when I re messaged them ! 100 % coincidence. Hmmmm! I signed up and created a profile on Zoosk. I got over 22 messages and wanted to subscribe so I can see the messages. every time I try my card is rejected. I checked with the bank and they are al fine. Zook keeps sending me pre-written emails saying it is the banks fault. I have sent the all the information over and over but now I am being Ghosted.

I wanted my account cancelled but i missed the chance to cancel. I did not want my membership continued at the beginning of the last renewal cycle. Is there any to cancel it now and get refund? If there's no way to get a refund just make sure my account is not renewed in the next renewal stage

I have been a member for nearly 2 years and recently in the last week or 2 wanted to subscribe as I see I have alot of messages.

I went to subscribe and it said I had already subscribed until November 8th.

I contacted customer services and 4-5 times I got sane generic email saying I need to show statements or bank card details or PayPal details.

I continually replied saying I’m not bothered about if I am subscribed as I knew I wasn’t so it must be a technical error but after writing snd writing saying all I want to do is subscribe and I sm receiving absolutely nothing back.

Considering this is how Zoosk makes revenue I’m very surprised and frustrated at the lack of customer service to firstly get back to me and secondly to offer any assistance.

All I want to do is subscribe for a month.

I cannot get access to my Zoosk account. I just paid $89 for six months membership three days ago. It worked fine for the last three days and for most of today. Now, it doesn’t matter if I go to the site on my computer or through the app on my iPhone? I get no access to the account. I don’t even get a sign in page. All I get is “you cannot access this page. I’ve checked my eland I’ve gotten no email stating their is any problem.

I joined Zoosk back in July 2017 for a 6-month subscription. At first, I was bombarded with views, almost 500 of them in the first 10 to 14 days. But here's the catch, if I deleted any of them, they would come back. It's funny how the views and notifications don't match up with each other. I also get notifications of views, but when I click on them, a different profile shows up. It's quite confusing, to be honest.

One thing that I find odd is that there's no search function to view or contact a member by typing in their username. This makes me think that the whole system is controlled. It's a giveaway, really.

Another thing that I find ridiculous is that Zoosk wants me to spend another $10/month so that non-paying members can read my messages. Are they out of their minds? Why would I spend more money on something that doesn't make sense? And don't even get me started on the gifts. Nobody cares about those!

My contact wall is beyond crowded. More than half of them I've never made contact with. All it takes is a view and any response, or a maybe both ways on carousel to wind up there. It's overwhelming, to say the least.

The "Smart Pick" is pretty stupid! It's not even close to what I'm looking for. How can you be positive or negative with a micro thumbnail picture that is hard to see, and notice that no user name is given?

Now, let's talk about the positive side of Zoosk. I have had some responses to messages, ranging from they are already dating someone to back and forth chats eventually resulting in phone conversations with real live women. Although I haven't met my match yet, I have 2 lady FRIENDS that I didn't have before, and whom I can call anytime. They are "buddies". No romantic inclinations, but we think alike and get along, and there is nothing wrong with having good friends. One is local, and one is not.

The Carousel matches have been mostly pretty accurate except for distance. Just how am I going to cultivate a relationship hundreds of miles away, although closer distances that are reasonable do show up. It's a 50/50 chance.

I get many views from older women looking for a "Boy Toy". It seems that Zoosk generates quite a few views that really never took place, anywhere from 2 minutes to a few hours ago from launching the app, but not always showing in the notifications. More age-appropriate women seem to be much less common.

All in all, credibility is an issue. Zoosk generates things to create an illusion of activity. Yes, there are real live good people there. You have to put in the time in order to gain anything worthwhile, but there are no guarantees. I'll do my remaining 5 months and decide whether to continue or not. Anything significant, I'll try to update this review.

I gotta say, Zoosk is a real piece of work. I mean, I signed up thinking I was gonna find me a nice lady to settle down with, but boy was I wrong. Right off the bat, I was bombarded with emails from supposed women who were interested in me. But get this, I hadn't even put up a picture or any info on my profile yet! How do they know they're interested in me? It's all a scam, I tell ya.

And don't even get me started on the pictures and profiles. They're all fake, stolen from Facebook or porn sites. I mean, who puts up a picture of the Eiffel Tower when they're supposedly from California? And some of the profiles are of dogs or cartoon characters. It's like they don't even try to make it believable.

But the real kicker is when they auto-upgrade you from a trial membership to a full, paid one without your consent. And then they start charging your credit card for other scam sites. I had to cancel my credit card and close my checking account just to get rid of them.

And let's not forget about their customer service. Good luck getting any help from them, especially if you don't speak their language. They're all based in places like Nigeria, Antigua, and South Africa. Not exactly local, if you catch my drift.

So, take my advice and stay far away from Zoosk. They're nothing but a bunch of thieves trying to scam you out of your hard-earned money. Save yourself the trouble and find a real dating site.

So, I thought I found the one on Zoosk, but boy was I wrong. This guy, goodguydr, turned out to be a total catfish and a scammer. He claimed to be a Christian civil engineer from Rancho Santa Fe, CA, but it was all a lie. He told me a sob story about his ex taking his daughter away and how he moved to the US for a fresh start. We talked for a few days, and then he said he had a job in Spain for six weeks. At first, everything seemed fine, but then he started asking for money.

He said he needed $2000 from his account in Florida, but he didn't trust his friends or have any family to ask. He even asked me to ask others for money for him. I blocked his numbers, but he called me from a different number a few days later. He tried to butter me up and then pretended to be angry at my Zoosk review. I took it down, but then reposted it to warn others of this fake.

I've talked to others who have had similar experiences on Zoosk. It seems like the quality of profiles is lower than on other free sites. And Zoosk will only take down a profile if it's overtly offensive. I also had some trouble unsubscribing from the website and had to call them directly to cancel the auto-renew.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Zoosk. It's not worth the risk of getting scammed or catfished. Stick to other free sites with better quality profiles and more reliable security measures.

Yo, so I gotta say, I'm not impressed with Zoosk. I've been out of the dating game for a hot minute, but I figured I'd give it a shot. Been using it for about a month now and I haven't even paid for the profile yet. And after last night, I don't think I ever will.

Let me break it down for you. I filtered my search results for women between 24 and 37 in my area, within a 20 mile radius. And within 30 minutes, I had to report five profiles for various reasons. Some of them had been on there forever, like seriously, they must have been using Zoosk since the dawn of time. And some of them were happily married for five or more years. Dead profiles, man.

Then there were the catfish accounts. One of them was using a profile picture of Anna Paquin. Like, come on, really? And finally, the biggest red flag of them all: three accounts that belonged to minors.

One of these girls is a close friend's younger sister. She's 14 years old and supposedly verified her account via Facebook. She follows me on Facebook, and her Zoosk profile picture is the exact same as her FB profile. Her account flat out says she's in high school. Earlier that day, she was talking about how amped she was to be starting her sophomore year.

So, like, what's the deal? Does Zoosk actually have somebody monitoring Facebook verification, or is it just some random bot? And why can't they implement some basic safety measures, like requiring users to send a picture of themselves holding a random object or a piece of paper with a time stamp and date on it?

As a single parent with an autistic child, I take this stuff seriously. The sex offenders registry is no joke, and I don't want to be complicit in a potential assault because Zoosk neglected to verify a profile.

I tried to contact their customer service email, but they told me I'd have to wait two to three days for a response. So I hit them up on Facebook Messenger, only to have my conversation muted. Rude.

Long story short, I'm done with Zoosk. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

When I first logged onto the site, I noticed a faded mosaic of old members' photos, which reminded me of a well-known scamming dating website. It looked like a clone running in the background with a new front end, which made me very suspicious. I soon realized that none of the profiles were real, and they were all empty fakes. I received many views, but no messages. I noticed a pattern - I only got viewed when I was offline. All the views I received were false and generated automatically by algorithms in the system software behind the website.

I decided to pause my profile for a while, making it inactive so that no one could see it. To my surprise, I received many views and emails saying that I needed to log in as soon as possible because someone wanted to contact me. How was that possible when my profile was not active and thus hidden from view? It was all BS.

I ran advanced searches using lots of different criteria, and the results were very revealing. For a site that claims to have 40 million singles, the searches produced only a handful of profiles or, in some cases, absolutely none at all. The system message often said, "There is no one online at the moment," which is a statistical impossibility for an international website.

There were a few token bimbo pictures on the site, but they were only there to get people to subscribe. They weren't even real. I ran an automated search several times in quick succession, and it ran out of matches to show me, which is odd for a site that claims to have 40 million singles. The last profile photo repeatedly got displayed as if it was a completely new user each time. It had an age that kept changing to new values - an identical user photo aged 25, or 26, or 27, or 28, or 29, or 30 and so on. The system was likely automatically generating fake profiles to artificially match to (false) computer-generated data. The algorithm does this presumably to make it look as if there are plenty of different people online, when in fact this is not the case.

Sure, there will be a few real people on the site. But when 95% of all profiles have no text but only a single photo, it's easy to wonder if any of these are at all really genuine. Of the remaining 5% possible real people, many had profiles that contained such negative views from members with bad entitlement attitudes that no one in their right mind would ever wish to meet them anyway.

I did some research and found out that the owner company's marketing and overall revenue figures are 50M+ Euros! Not bad from a business to maximize profit return on investments.

My advice: These are scammers of the first order. This dating site is more like One.BIg.Con. Please avoid it at all costs.
