I am a first time buyer. I thought Jim Walter was a good idea, but boy am I wrong!. My mother always said what sounds good usually isn't. I wished I would have taken her advice. I purchased a repossessed home in 2006 thinking I can avoid the hassle of contractors and the like.Everything looked fine when I looked at the home. My agent Chris Little was very...

Walter Mortgage Harassing assistant district manager!

About 2 weeks ago I sent my May payment off and it was late but the ADM came by my house the Thrusday before I was going to send my house payment off. On that Saturday in between jobs I went to send an quick collect off, but the machine was down so I had to get a money order and send it off. On Tuesday he called and told me it has not gotten there yet and they need it by Thursday or he was going to turn my house over to be foreclosured. The next day he came back by my house and my husband showed him the money order receipt and he said the same thing. Well that evening I called the mortgage company's billing dept and the rep. told me it can talk 24-48 hours before a payment be posted on their computer after it is received from the mail room. On that Friday morning at 8:05AM he left me a message on my voicemail saying he will give me and my husband a chance to come sign our house over or he will turn it in to the attorney for foreclosure I have the message saved but I don't know who I can contact to file a complaint on him, because later that morning I called the billing dept and they posted my payment to my account. Tell me smb what should I do about that man?

i bought my home in 2001 and my husband was shot in 2003 and was partially disable. he could not work due to his injuries and therefore we felled behind. we decided to do chapter13 so we can save our home. i had my wages garnish so that they can get their payment, my husband died in 2006 and it was 2008 when i thought my payments were complete. Chris little called me and told me that i easy $10, 000 behind. where did all that money go that they were taken out of my check for 5 years. i asked about the arrears and said it was better on them to foreclose and resell...wtf. anyway i walked away and i hat that i did.

We are having the same problem. A guy come up to the house today and did not introduce himself at first. So i thought he was here to pick up a stray horse that was loose in my yard. So i asked him are you here for the horse and he rudely says what horse no! I’m ssssss! He asked for my husband I told him he was not home. I told him who I was. He was rude and downright mean. He threatens me about the house and several other things. I don’t even want to deal with him I am telling everyone how they treat us. I don’t refer them to new home buyers or builders. They need to have schooling about treating people.

I live in Chicago. Our mortgate was sold to Walter Mortgage Company in 2003. When our rates skyrocketed we called to make arrangements. They would not work with us and blantantly told us that all they would do is a deed in lie. (sign our house over) otherwise they would start foreclosure proceedings. No partial payments, no modification, nothing would be accepted. They were highly intimidating rude and and downright mean. My husband died in 2009 and they foreclosed on our home. A class action lawsuit needs to be started against this company.

I live in georgia and my fiance and i have also had a bad experience with walter mortgage. we found a foreclosed house for sale that needed alot of work. i called the company and they said the price as is was $41, 000 and if they did all the remodeling it'd be $46, 000... the company didnt even hire professionals just 3 regular people off the street & used builder grade paint and was not quality work by any means and walter mortgage claimed they paid these people $2000 to paint a 1200 sq ft house. the house still needed plumbing, electrical, flooring, and air conditioning work. the day we were supposed to close they proposed that they allowed us $3600 for us to have people do those repairs and all of a sudden the price is $53, 000. I was nervous about getting in over my head so i arrange for my mother in law who was a real estate agent for 20 yrs to be with us to go over the paper work before we signed and im extremely glad that i did. all the papers that we were to sign just covered walter mortgage making sure we were responsible for paying for the loan. my mother in law pointed out that there was no warranty deed or title insurance. without the warranty deed we had nothing to secure the deed going into our name. walter mortgage gave us 3 days to back out of the contract but said it would take 2 weeks for the deed to be sent to the courthouse to be put into our name. we had nothing promising that we were to be the owners on the deed but we were completely responsible for paying the loan. my mother in law expressed that in the 20 yrs she worked as a real estate agent she never once sold a home without a warranty deed. the agent says thats not how they do business but if we were not comfortable we did not have to sign that day. he called back after less than 5 minutes and said his boss told him that if we didnt sign that day the deal was off and they would sell to someone else. thank goodness my i had my mother in law to keep me from diving head first into an empty pool! id advise all of the customers of walter mortgage to investigate and make sure their name is on the deed. lilcountrythang06@yahoo.com----Julia

first ill ask what state do you live in. we have a walter home and basically we did the same thing you did bought a home from them that was foreclosed. a year later my husband was laid off for 3 months and we struggled to make the payment. we were threatened by the loan agent and treated like garbage he even told me he was taking my house he said he didn't want my money all he wanted was my house back cause he could resell it for what i bought it for and Make [censor] load of money in interest when he resold it. if i'm not mistaken the guys name that we signed the papers with was chris little and like you he rushed us to sign he said that we were approved and it would cost us 800.00 down payment we were waiting on our taxes to come in and he told me that we had 3 days are they had to move on to the next person in line. we were desperate our landlord had given us 1 month to find somewhere for us and our 5 kids to move to so her daughter could move in. so we borrowed the money from a friend we are struggling now to make ends meet in this economy and they wont help us after a year of my husband being laid off they have told us well we don't have to participate is in presidents program to lower the interest we are paying 12 percent interest in 4 years we have paid 4 notes on the principal and the rest in interest. they have a program to lower your interest deffer a payment or lower the note for a few months the program is for people how are in financial hardship we applied hes been laid off for a year we are living on unemployment and have 5 kids under 13 and we got a letter that said sorry but u don't qualify. it makes me so mad that they can treat people that way and our lovely president who promised to help the working man and woman is doing nothing to help. if you live in MS contact me maybe we can find other people to join us and we can find a way to stop there mistreatment of people. svkirkland@yahoo.com
