Trend Micro Trend micro device security pro 6

I purchased Micro Trend Protection as part of an offer when I purchased a new laptop in JB Hi Fi Australia.

I purchased and activated the product on Feb 25 2022.

I specifically noted down when my one year I had purchased would run out, as it was an offer due to being a combination purchase, I had previous just used free protections, and with online concerns these days, being advised that the Australian police also use the same protection sounded great.

I likely would have continued with the protection as I had no issues, it worked fairly well in the background and did not have too many interruptions for software updates.

UNTIL 2 FULL weeks prior to my subscription expiry date (Feb 11 2023) I got a notification from my bank that I had been charged $179 AUD by Mirco Trend. I checked my email and sure enough there was a notification there thanking me for my auto renewal payment. There has been NO other email or notification of this payment being scheduled early or ANY date for payment mentioned in any previous email, only that the expiry of my protection had been 25 Feb 2023, and is now showing as 25 Feb 2024.

Every other subscription has charged me the day of or day before expiry.

I could maybe even understand a few days before hand with notice.

I feel like this is an underhanded tactic to trap people into the contract, as the moment that charge was made, the option to cancel my subscription then showed as if I clicked cancel, it would be cancelled as of the new expiry date 25 Feb 2024.

To your credit the service person I got on the chat Feterim made an offer to try and improve on what I would receive for that charge amount, however, I feel strongly that poor customer experience is a HUGE factor in why I asked for a refund instead.

It is a SIMPLE matter of sending an email or having a pop up on the program to advise a customer WHEN you will be charging them. With inflation and cost of living increases it is a big charge to come with absolutely NO notice.

Please consider adding a way to advise customers when a charge will be coming to their credit card, as the last email I had was a marketing offer from April of 2022, and nothing previous to that advised when my renewal would be charged. I likely would have let it auto renew and continue if it the charge occurred on the date of expiry, as I had no issues with the program itself or its reputation. But the way a company conducts business can make a huge difference for customer loyalty.

Honestly if I forgot and was charged the day of expiry, I might have let it go for another year and just cancelled the auto renewal feature. But being charged two full weeks early prompted me to request a refund and cancellation immediately.

Having your billing set up this way makes it seem (and likely comes from customer habit research) that most people would just let this charge go, leave it for another year, forget again and be renewed again. So, your business is a convenience tax rather than an active engagement with your customers.

More people are watching their budgets so will be looking at every dollar spent. I had the money to be protected another year but am choosing not to do so after this experience. Others who have less to spare will likely take the extra time and effort it takes to contact support to ask for the refund like I did.

More and more research is coming in about how millennials and gen z, the biggest technology users, are choosing to spend money with companies whose values and ideals align with their own. It can be a good take away to try and take this onboard and look at how you engage with your customers at each touch point of your business.

I might have considered continuing and turning off the autorenewal feature, but I am honestly not sure I would trust it would not turn back on after an update or another change somewhere else.

I have been advised that it will take 2 days for the billing department to verify the charges then 5 days for the refund to come back to my account by customer support.

Desired outcome: All I ask is that this feedback/complaint be reported and considered for future customers.

Trend Micro Dri*trend Software

I have been charged for 109,90 British pound (1304,49 Norwegian kroner) for something I do not know about? I maybe subscribed to your product some 5-10 years ago, but I not using your product any more.

The only identification I have from the bank account is: "Dri*trend Software" and the amount 1333 Norwegian Kroner (110 British Pound)

Please stop the subscription immediately and the amount refunded.

Trend Micro My account was accused with a card that ran out in 2021 I had 1 years member ship left as I payed for a 5 year protection plain

My account had let me now before taking money out as the old card ran out in 2021 some how with out telling me money was taken out with no notice I had 1 year more before it was due to expire this person I spoke to at trend said there were two massagers sent I had him run me throw my e-mail to track them down we could not find a thing at all now he has blocked my trend scan and every thing related to trend as I told him that when it comes due I ring to get a better price with some one I can understand now can some won ring me from the australian office be for I take this to the ombudsman as many was taken with out consent and from a card that had expired and the bank is looking in to this matter as a breech of there system and the way that I was treated by this person I called and had to wait for 1.23 mins and the fact that he spent more time talking his supervisor than both me and my wife adrian a mccubbin

Trend Micro Security on-line

I received an e-mail message today from Pablo Sretiber, stating I purchased $399.99 worth of their product. I didn't know what he was talking about, and I couldn't understand the invoice showing what was purchased.

I called [protected], three times, never spoke to anyone, finally left a message.. About 15 min later I received an e-mail, stating the purchase was complete and there was nothing I could do about it.

Trend Micro UNAUTHORIZED credit card charge

I have unauthorized charges of on my account of $127.92 from DRI*Trend MICO. I have NOT signed up for a yearly. I have tried to contact the company with no avail. I want my money back and to never be charged by your company again.

Trend Micro did not order service

On 1/04/2022 172.42 was taken from our checking account. I did not order this service and I am requesting a refund. I use a company computer and have no need for this service. To me this was an act of theft! I called my bank to see if they could stop the transaction but was too late. Also tried to find a phone number to call and talk with a representative but could not find one.

On October 13, 2021 my American Express card was charged for #38.11. I called DRI (Digital River) and they could not find any information of my company placing an order. Then told me it was Trend Micro's problem. I called Trend Micro who told me the same thing in addition to telling me that "there are a lot of scammers out there and they would not refund my money.

Trend Micro Did not order

I was charged 96.00 by Microsoft dri trend I have no idea what this is or why I was charged I want a refund I see I am not the only one who has been ripped off by this company. To me, this is another scam out to get people I demand a refund of 96, 00 to make a check payable to the name and address below. I also sent a report to BBB of Ohio.

Please be advised that I have been charged $ 67.99 for a service which I used to have but no longer do.
I wish to have a credit issued for account (Marie Stephenson). I have recently married and no longer have the same computer equipment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. The charge was made to Discover card.

Trend Micro Unauthorized credit card charges.

In 04/29/2011 I had a subscription of Trend Micro Titanium Inter, my customer number was [protected] and the original order number is [protected]. The last renewal notification I received was by email on 4/27/2015 with a renewal order number [protected] but I notified Trend Micro OEM that I was canceling the renewal option of the subscription because I no longer had the computer it was on and I never loaded it on any other computer. I have not received any notifications since that one on 4/27/2015. Then on my Chase Credit Card Statement May 1, 2021 I had a charge from DRI TREND MICRO trend.comMN for the amount of $48.66 which I did not authorize. When I look up the name listed on the statement all find is complaints or questions of what is this charges.

Desired outcome: To make sure I am reimbursed for the charges that was made and to make sure there is no charges in the future.

Trend Micro unauthorized credit card charges

On 3/3/21 $116.92 was charged to my credit card by DRI*Trend Micro orderfind.com mn. I didn't order this. I do have trend micro spyware but I was informed I could have it on all my devices with no extra charge. I was not informed of extra charge when I put it on my Samsung tablet. Trend Micro usually e-mails me when it's time to renew, I did not receive any notice about extra charges. IF I am going to be charged I will remove it off my tablet and expect charges removed off my card.

Trend Micro Unauthorized credit card charge

I'm filing a complaint for an unauthorized credit card charge in the amount of $114.43 on March 9, 2021. I'm beyond upset and have been violated and would appreciate a speedy resolution to this issue. Trend Micro Unauthorized credit charges

On Sep 3rd 2020 €109.90 was taken off my credit card.
I did not recognize this transaction, so with find my order I noticed it was from Kaspersky, virus scanner 2016, which was already cancelled in 2017. The amounts also do not correspond.
So please refund the €109.90.

Enclosed with the photos the credit card message, and the photo of the screen when I fill in the last 4 digits of the credit card and the email address.

Trend Micro Annual Charge to my credit card

Hello, To whom it may concern, '
This is a concern to me. I have tried to get this annual charge stopped and it keeps coming on my credit card year after year. I am tired of this scam. Make it stop please! I moved overseas almost 5 years ago and don't even use the same laptop. I don't know how this continues to appear on my credit card every Dec.
I am not going to pay this. I will contact my credit card company and tell them to not pay this annual bogus fee.
