The games is very boring, there is barely anything in this game my sim can keep busy with. I bought sims 3 late night, hardly any extras with that. Not too many extra good hairstyles, clothings, or any other buy mode objects. I also find it disappointing and a little weird that you can change your sims skin color to different shades of blue, red, and green...

The Sims 3 Not Fun

The game is lame,
it dosen't have 1/2 the depth of the sims 2 (even before all it's expansions), I don't mind the graphics, but they do look... different, I haven't had any problems with Crashing, or it running/loading slow. but it's just dosen't have that "coolness" factor... things happen to fast, if I cook a meal for a household, I'm done and washing the plates before the rest of the family has even started (so dinner conversations are rare and hard to co-ordinate, I seem to be able to learn skills with too little effort, and in just one session I have almost maxxed out my skills. No weather, No pets, No Rejuve Elixir (yes you can turn off aging.. but what I want the world to age around my sim, and be kinda immortal, can't do that here, NO Hobbies (like building robots in Sims 2). When you reach your lifetime aspiration that's it.. can't get a new one. And a silly thing that really bothers me, I can't turn off the carpool, so if I don't specifically click my vehicle and "go to work" I end up in the car pool, if you do drive to work the %^&*ING carpool shows up anyway and sits infront of the empty house honking away for an hour... stupid... the ONLY redeeming feature is the Universal neighborhood (no more loading between commercial lots and such)... to bad once you get to a commercial lot there is no INSIDE, not much to do... stupid stupid...

I AM SO GLAD I PIRATED THIS GAME, didn't pay a cent for it... no one should for this crap.

I do have legit copys of Sims 2 and expansion packs... they are well worth it... and I've gone back to them.

DON'T buy this, wait and see if EA will "make it better"

Unfortunately, I agree. I have the sims 2 on my pc but got the sims 3 for my mac, and no contest. Sims 3 was expensive and I had too high expectations. I then installed packaged files like hair, clothes... what I always found fun in Sims 2. Well, I can't load the Sims 3 now. I have to take out all of the package files, let the game load, then while it's going, add the package files back in (you can do that in mac). But now I own it and I just have to make the best of it since it was pricey. I will most likely stick to my Sims 2 and give up on the Sims 3. Too much trouble and not much fun at all. I would recommend to stick to the Sims 2 and get all of the expansion packs.

THIS GAME SUCKS. I JUST UNINSTALLED. Because walmart won't give me my damn money back because they think we are all theives and copy it, then bring it back for a return, i can't return the damn thing! But i will sell it on ebay to some sucker who actually likes this piece of crap they call the sims 3. SOO disappointed. World Adventures sucked too! Absolutely disappointing for a sims fan from day 1. I still remember when i first got the sims 1 and the sims 2. The sims 3 just has too many bugs and it's not fun to play anymore. Gooodbye Sims!

You have to have good memory, but more importantly, a good video card that has lots of memory. The game still sucks because EA keeps screwing around with the patches and the game gets buggy. Ea wants you to buy their objects from the store online, but they want wayyyyyyy to much money for the objects. Buying stuff packs usually runs around $20 for the Sims2, but online at the Sims3 store you spend that much to get one room full of furniture. The game is buggy because EA won't leave well enough alone. I have a very powerful computer and video card, and when the game works, it runs fast. The problem is you never know if the game will work correctly. Often I will get into the game and discover that all the items I saved such as walls, ect. have just disappeared. It makes playing the game very discouraging. EA needs to refine this game further and apologize to every player who bought Sims3.

Well the Sims 2 was also super slow when you try to get your Sims out on a car to go downtown. Or even to get a taxi it took a long long LONG time to load. It would drive me crazy.
With the Sims 3 you need like mega memory, and I mean like the gamer-computer memory that only extreme gamers get. The Sims 3 requires at least 1 g of ram but that is never going to be nearly enough.
How much does your pc have? If you don't mind me asking
The reason why I haven't bought the Sims 3 is because I know my pc is not going to be equipped to handle that game. it does take a lot of memory, even installing the Sims 2 takes a million years.

The Sims 3 DON'T BUY IT!

Me and my sister were so excited about finally etting the Sims 3. Well my sister was, it's her game.My mom was seriously pissed off that it cost so much money, but we had faith that it was worth the full sixty dollars. SO we came home to install it on my brand new Windows Vista, and it took like a whole freakin' hour! AS we continued to explore the games we were seriously dissapionted.
It freezes, all the time. Your in the middle of doing something, but then it freezes and either the computer restarts it'ss elf or your screwed. SO many complications, and for what? You can't do ###ing anything! All you can really do is wow create cool facial features, patterns, and colors. But what the ### is with the hair? There is like five hairstyles, and they all suck! I mean the only thing that you can actually enjoy doing is creating Sims, but when that's over you can't do anything!
You can't go anywhere! You can't even create a decent community lot anymore! There are NO nightclubs whatsoever. WHat do you mean party? There are NO parties! The only community lots you can make are pools, lakjes, and ###ing lame ### parks! And there are no Sims, anywhere! I mena they want to meet new people, but their is no new people, unless, they are already premade Sims, in the neghborhood. There are no places for the Sims, to hang out and party. ANd this curfew thing, is driving a wall up my ###!
Creating community lots is the WORST! You can't create anything! WHat happened to the vampires? What happened to nightclubs? You can't even go inside the ###ing venues, and control you SIms. You have to IMAGINE. You have to imagine.
SIms 2 was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better! It was actually fun. WOw you couldn't create custom content in the actual game, but you could download things for free, and get cool meshes, and do cheets, and have FUN.You could go downtown get bitten by a vampire lady, make love at community lots, bend the rules, be wild. That was personality, those were real traits. But now you are limited, to a ###ing list of traits, that don't mean ###.
### this game is awful, just don't buy it! If you don't own SIms, get SIms 2 Double Deluxe, it's only $19.99. Cheap, but way better than $59.99 of ###. I mean the complaining NEVER ends.

Yeah I agree with Stephanie, it didn't freeze on me either (although I've heard other people say new updates have caused their games to freeze)... and it's $50 unless there was some special collectors edition that I didn't hear about.

Anyways, do you remember how crappy the Sims 2 was when it first came out? Before all the umpteen expansion packs and crazy mad mods? I do, and eventually the Sims 3 will have better expansions and the modders will figure out things to do with it in time. It'll get better.

Perhaps it was your computer that couldn't handle the game... instead of it being the game itself. I know my computer runs a little slower with the Sims 2 because I need to get more memory and all that crap.
And, I know that attempting to play the Sims 3 would just be completely awful... as my system couldn't handle it.

The Sims 3 installation

Bought the game, spent $55.00.
Game will not install, contacted EA and all they keep telling me if to do
the things they suggest. well i have done them over and over and keep getting the CRC error box.
The store where I bought it will not exchange it anymore (6 times)
My computer meets all the system requirements.
There are MANY people with the same problem. How can we all have the same problem, when we all have
different computers.
EA is giving us the runaround

The Sims 3 waste of money

Im a huge fan of the sims and i have always loved there games, so when the sims 3 came out i made sure i bought it as soon as i could.
once i got it home and started playing it i was VERY dissapointed! the graphics on the game are very bad and my computer is less than a year old and i have one of the best graphics cards you can get so it has to be the game.
this is not my main complaint however, i did reaserch on the game before it came out and i looked at some of the walkthrough videos on the sims 2 sight and the gameplay seemed really good and the graphics looked good aswell. EA games and Maxis used false advertising to sell the sims 3 seing as graphics on actual gameplay are awfull! its more like a add on pack for the sims 1 than an improvment on (huge hit) sims 2! unles they relise an expansion pack updating graphics the future of the sims is a very bleak one in my oppinion.

do not buy this game it is a waste of money! stick with the sims 2 its so much better.

The regular Sims 3 SUCKS it gets so old very quick. But if you have expansion packs its okay.Sims 2 is ALOT better in things you can do but sims3 is great in grahpics.EA needs to put the things they had in sims 2 into sims 3 thats what makes sales or atleast put a sims 3 seasons expansion pack

I totally disagree! my computer is a 2007 windows XP and a graphics card that i bought on ebay for $27 and its average is $40-50 it is capable of having all settings on high with minor-very minor performance loss. and my graphics are awsome! they look almost like the advertising ones very close to them thogh :) so i will guess that your computer is too slow or not so good for the game

and about the aging...you can set the aging...btw is from 25 sim days...to 900 sim days and my sims are 60 percent of their time out in town not inside learning or focusing on work/homework.

and i only use one cheat...moveobjects on/off thats it

Unfortunately, Maxis had no part in the development of the game which is the reason "The Sims 3" failed. The game lost more features than it inherently gained. By removing Maxis from development, the franchise will fail as did Sim City (Sim City Societies is a piece of ###)...

I don't agree the graphics are awefull, thats your computer. Looks great on mine which is over a yr old.
But Sims 3 is merely i minor update over Sims 2, and a huge setback

GOODS
* Abilty to actually move around the town now and interact with people and buildings,
* Can control what you do while at work.

Thats about the only redeeming thing though. Oh and for the open minded you can now have Gay/Bisexual relationships & marriages by default

BADS
* Camera functions are clunky and most of the time you can't see inside buildings, you have to repeatedly raise and lower the wall view to see inside.
* If you have age turned on, within 5 hrs of realtime you'll go from Early Adult to elderly and have completed your life goals but not enough time to really build up a huge bank balance unless you cheat ofcourse.
* Only 1 neighbourhood which isn't even included in the game u have to download it (free atleast)
* There is free content but the best stuff costs real money
* when you start a new family and or move one in to the neighbourhood they start with $20000 at most and no way to change it til they've moved in to a house or plot, at which time you can use the money cheats.
* If you decide to evict your sims they lose all there family worth. Better to move them.
* Constant new desires by your sim which come after you've just done that thing. ie While you are having a party your sims new desire is to have a party, but accepting it doesn't achieve anything as the party has already started
* Too much micro-managing required as time goes by really quick and long game time is required to learn/eat/shower/sleep etc. Yet you age really quick

I am a huge Sims fan, but Sims 2 was way better than this crap. All the game does is load really f***ing slow, or freeze. There are soo many problems with this game that...
