I have been a customer of the Suntan City in Jeffersonville, IN for years. I always stop my account in Sept and restart it in April. I called customer service and did that but am still being charged. I have been charged for Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan , Feb. I spoke to a rep and they told me they would refund these amounts for me . got my bank statement today and I am charged again what do I do

I am highly dissatisfied

My tan was fine and staff at the salon were helpful.

I signed up for what I thought was 1 month before son's wedding so I would not have to wear stockings.

These staff knew this -and you’ll see I did not come in after the wedding May 7th

Yes- we should have checked our bank statements more carefully and YES I see since you sent me the contragt that by the letter of the law I don't have a nicely tanned leg to stand on

BUT to be charged for services I was not using-YIKES

I am 73 years old and it was extravagant for me to tan even for the wedding.

Isn't there something you can do?

Abby the manager very rude would not let me tan according g to bo her I didn’t have my eye wear with me she has not asked anyone else for eye wear since I’ve been waiting in lobby and I have been coming here for years and never been asked to “show” eye wear not one time! It shouldn’t matter who I am or who she knows that knows me it should be equal treatment I e had issues with her putting me in the booths that do not work correctly more than once

On July 31,2023 I went in to Sun Tan City on Morrell Avenue in Knoxville Tennessee to get a $5 tan. The clerk at the counter took all my information and proceeded to put a bottle of excellerator on the counter and tell me that it was a complementary bottle which I took and went back to the tanning booth. Only to find out much later that they were accusing me of stealing it. So I went to the manager and was told that they had a video of me taking it off of the counter. When I asked if the video had audio the manager said yes it did, but when I asked to see the video I was denied. And was told that I could no longer come into any Sun Tan City.

I was a customer of the Sun Tan City office located at 10917 Parkside Drive, 37834 beginning in November 2022. In January of 2023, I ask the women manager of the Sun Tan City office to cancel my autopay for the tanning services because my seasonal job at Target, in the Turkey Creek, ended and no other lined up for work, I could not afford extra spending. She went to the store computer and told me I would no longer be charged. I did not go back for tanning services in February, March and April and May because I expected that my account was cancelled. In May, my bank account was unexpectedly overdrawn and when I connected to my bank account, I found that the charge of $68.84 ($59.99 plus 9.25% sales tax) was received by the bank and caused my account to be overdrawn my checking account. I do not feel I should pay overdraft fees for tanning service I was not using. On further examination of the last few months, I found that Suntan City had continued to charge my account the same $68.84 for the months of February, March, April and May even thought the manager had verbally told me that she cancelled my account as I requested.

When I discovered that I was continuing to be charged, I went back to the Turkey Creek Sun Tan Office and talked to the same women manager who previously told me she cancelled my account. She ask me for the conformation number which I did not have since she had not provided that to me in January when I requested that she cancel the service. She did not mention that she would provide a conformation notice to me on that day, in January, and I had no idea I should expect a conformation number, it considering I was talking to the manager. I do not feel I should pay overdraft fees plus your monthly charges for a service I was not using.

I request a refund of $275.36 for the 4 months I was charged for tanning services which were not requested or used. The very same thing happened at the same Sun Tan City location to a lady who works with me. She reported that she verbally requested that her services be cancelled, did not receive a paper with a conformation number and yet she was charged for additional months of Tanning services.

2 years ago, I went to the Smyrna Tennessee location and canceled my membership. I didn’t notice it for a while but the past 2 YEARS they have been charging my dad’s bank account $5 a month, I had used his card one time when I used to tan. This is absurd! This company is criminal and they make it difficult to cancel their services in the first place.

As much time as I have spent dealing with “client services” and told a supervisor would call me back (never did) I am just disgusted and exhausted with all of this. Sun Tan City charged my account 2 times a month multiple times and 4 times one month without me knowing or saying something to me. Instead they “refunded” it in “tan dollars” at their salon and you can’t get refunds from tan dollars. Then I was told “well you used the tan dollars on upgrades” I had no idea money was going to my “tan dollars” I thought I had got some promotion or something and got those tan dollars. Then they admit to me they knowingly charged me 2 times and then put the 2nd payment towards my “tan dollars” all without my consent or without me knowing. Then I’m surprised to see I have tan dollars so I think oh cool they gave me some incentives. Only

To find out they are honestly just stealing peoples money in every way they can and then keep you on the phone for an hour to say it is your fault and THEY MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT being run by their “satisfaction guaranteed” statement they promote. I mean, it’s disgusting. I ended up having almost 282 dollars in 2 months taken from me. Not 1 cent was refunded. No free tans or try to make up for LITERALLY stealing from me. It’s pathetic and it’s disgusting that no one has gone after this company and stopped them from stealing from people that are giving them business. I would never recommend STC to anyone. I will write on every forum I can about my experience and hopefully one day they will screw someone over so badly that they are shut down for good or someone that is honest and trustworthy will take over this franchise. Hope STC is happy with themselves.

I have been a member for many years and rarely tan in the beds. I recently was advised to not tan but I would still like to do a spray tan once a month. When looking this up it appears this option is only for 18 and under which seems like age discrimination!? I am ready to cancel my membership but would really rather remain a loyal customer with a once a month spray tanning option that’s clearly offered to others.

I have had my membership on hold for a little over a year. I cancelled it yesterday 6/20/22. I have been a customer since approximately 2007...and I activate/de-activate as needed. Because I have moved rural - there are no Sun Tan Cities convenient and my aging skin doesn't need any more tans. A friend canceled hers and was reimbursed. I canceled mine and was told that the balance would remain on my account indefinitely. It's $65.00 - not a lot to some but in this day and age it is needed! Oddly I never was told this when I signed up so many years ago nor any time I have reactivated. The account is closed and will remain that way. Not sure why businesses like this can continue to change the rules as they go w/out a courtesy of an update but I wanted others to be aware. Hopefully they will do the right thing and reimburse my checking account.

I requested a refund in April because I paid for a year in advance then found out I would not be able to use their services. I have spoke with billing. They claimed first request did. It go thru and the request would be put in again. It is June 7th. No word. I have spoke to manager at the salon she said call billing. I did that. No results. Tried to call agin before this complaint and I got disconnected 3 times. I am out of work and need my money.

I have been a customer at STC for nearly 9 years now. I have a spray tan membership because I am a redhead with a red skin tone. That being said I need a spray tan solution with violet undertones to balance and smooth out my color so I always ask for the Malibu, medium, tinted. I love it! However, my visit to my fav location in Fountain City of Knoxville TN on 3/13/22 has me an orange mess! I mean literally I am orange! Why? Well I ask for Malibu and got the Catalina. After check in I was told to go to room 23 and when I entered the room I saw the screen said Catalina so I called front desk with the phone in the room and asked the girl that checked me in, the one with no name tag, if she is sure this is the Malibu medium tinted because the screen says Catalina. She replied yes that’s right! I figured she would know so went ahead and took her word for it and did the session. When I got out I knew this was nit the Malibu tinted because it was clear and also I couldn’t see just how red my skin looked! Uuugghh…. I walked to the front and found the no name team member and asked her why she would put me in the booth when I asked for something else and even called to check after I got to the room. Her reply was that she put me in for 47…whatever that means… and that it wasn’t her fault the the machine messed up. I asked her to make a note on my account stating that I only want Malibu med tinted in versa booth from now on and to ask Noah to call me because if the machines are to blame then something needs to be changed. She said I was being hostile which is not true and then said that it is 10:23 and we closed at 10:00. I told her if she had put me in the booth I had asked for in the first place we wouldn’t be standing here. She told me to go home and take a shower and come back tomorrow to spray. I told her I already did that and I would like to leave a not for Noah. She continued share her expertise on “common decency “ as I ask the other team member, name tag on “, Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn wrote a note for Noah and asked if I would like to add anything in my own words and I said no thanks and she asked for and took down my number. She was very professional in my opinion plus she was willing to help me out and to a paying customer such as myself that along with getting the service that I ask for is really all I expect. My take on the whole incident is this.. no name tag wanted to not only close at 10:00 she wanted to be heading home by 10:00 so when no name tag saw that both Versa booths with the Malibu medium tinted where occupied she thought she would save time and put me in something deferent and just say it was what I asked for so she could get out at 10:00.

On January 31, 2022 I logged on to the suntancity website to cancel my membership that I have not used for 6 months because I have skin cancer. I also do not use spray tans because I live in a college town and the salon stays so crowded with college students I would for sure contract COVID. When I logged into cancel the website claimed I had no membership so I figured I would not be charged on February 1 for a membership. I checked my bank account on February 3 only to see a $54 dollar charge for a Sun Tan City Membership. When I contacted customer service for a refund and explained the situation I was only offered a store credit. I cannot use store credit I have had skin cancer! Since their website and their app are both horrible and inaccurate I would really like my money back.

joined for the 1st time and no were on the app when I joined did it say anything about a $20 salon fee! I opened a flex account and I wanted to cancel after my 1st month however they would not allow me to do so and my account was drawn $81 for a $49 membership! I would have never joined if I couldn't cancel when I wanted to or that I was going to be charged double what I agreed too! I tried canceling before the 2nd month was due but they refused and they refused a refund. I will never join them again and I will definitely let everyone I know how this place operates.

I went inside to enquire about spray tans. Online it showed special offers for first spray tans for free and also another deal for a 5 dollar spray tan. I was told it was going to cost me 35 dollars. I was told I would get really dark by using the darkest one, no orange or spotting. Great even though I thought 35 was a little much. I was changed from normal booth (because they couldn't get it to work) to a really old booth but they said it was same. I was told afterward that it would show within 4 hours. 38 hours later, I am still very much white and super pale. It did nothing. Not even a tint to my skin. I was told customer service will not do a refund or complaints because "they're no good". I feel I was cheated out of 35 dollars. That's a lot

Used? I'm not sure but I'm very upset. It took me going to Walmart and purchasing a 11 dollar bottle of sunless tan to get a nice tan within a few hours. I'm pissed to be honest and I want my money. I feel I just handed 35 dollars to someone for nothing.

The CDC and government has cleared wearing masks now and I have been FULLY vaccinated I shouldn't have to wear a mask inside anywhere now! The manager at my salon got an attitude about me not wearing one. She told me that I couldn't tan at her salon anymore if I didn't wear it! I will cancel and spread word of how your company is rude and can't follow NEW guidelines
