Dear Shoprite Tzaneen Management,

I trust this message reaches you with the urgency it deserves.

My concern pertains to the R5.00 budget bread that your store advertises to customers. Despite the assurance that this bread is baked daily, customers consistently find themselves unable to access it. Repeatedly, we are informed that the bread is sold out, allegedly due to Shoprite staff, both managers and junior staff, reserving and locking it away for their own convenience, only to pay at the end of their shifts. This practice is grossly unfair to us, your clients. We expect transparency and the fulfillment of promises made to customers.

Furthermore, the operational aspect of the store is troubling. Despite having more than 20 till machines, only 5 are operational after 4 PM each day. While we understand the need to manage costs, neglecting customer satisfaction in the process is unacceptable. After a long day of work, we do not want to endure unnecessary hour-long queues.

I urge you to address these issues promptly, ensuring that the promises made to customers are honored, and operational efficiency is improved for the benefit of all patrons. Your attention to these matters is crucial in maintaining the trust and satisfaction of your clientele.

Extremely Poor Customer Experience

What an extremely poor service I have received from Mahlatse Malatji from Shoprite Liquor Modjadji Plaza (GA-Kgapane). I went to the shop to get some refreshments around 18:25 today the 8th of Jan 2024,I got to the shop and took whatever I wanted to drink but when I got to the till Mahlatse asked for an extra savings card before she can even ring my item, I then told her that I left it in the car but it's fine she can ring without it but she then told me that we as the Shoprite customers are now forced to have the card or else we are not allowed to shop,. I then asked her that are you saying if I don't have the card or if I don't want to register for the card meaning I am not allowed to buy at Shoprite, she then said yes! She denied to let me buy. I told her that I will report her but she did not hesitate to tell me that I can go wherever I wanna go for all she cares because if she let me buy without the card she is going to sign a warning. I had to go to the car to fetch the card, I then went to her to pay, she then told me to pay at the other till. I did so.So now I'm asking myself why are we forced to have the card? Is it there anything hidden info behind the cards...? She was not even wearing her name tag, I asked her why is she not wearing the name tag, she then told me that she lost it long time ago. She then said 'My Name is Mahlatse Malatji'

Yesterday I was not hapy the way the security treated me at Shoprite Palm Springs CBD I went to the tills and pay my staff as I was walking outside the security called me she wanted to check my handbag I didn't want her too she pulled my bag open by force without my permission. I was treated like a criminal I'm not happy at all people were watching as if I took something from the store. This lady she's working for Nyathi Security by the name of Thembi Vilakazi she's very rude and disrespectful to customers.

While at store in springs Mall on the 07/04/2024 at the bakery, the staff that are working with the food does not have any head caps or disposable gloves.

This is highly un-acceptable, when working with food, there should be gear.

We have complained to the manager on duty, and she did not take the matter seriously (Cindy).

When I called thabang on the 08/04/2024 he had said that it is not necessary to have a head cap and disposable gloves.

This is highly disgusting, for clients to see the staff working I this manner,

The cashiers are also ignorant and chat to the people packing, they do not listen when you ask them foe something, I believe that the cashiers should focus on the clients.

When the store is busy, there are few cashiers.

Please I request that there should be better management.

Am not happy with shoprite in baragwanath kokwana road diepkloof... Last week I brought a hair product when I get home I found that the best before date for the item was removed... Today I brought 2 cadbury ps, the taste of the chocolate was not good its like I was at the shelf for the long. That ps you wont eat it, can they pls sell quality products

On friday afternoon I went to shoprite tshwane mall. When I got to the till I greeted the lady, she kept quite and she rolled eyes on me while she's busy holding her ears while assisting me after she holds my food with those same filthy hands.. Throughout the whole transaction she gave me a stinking attitude her name is kedibone

I reported her to the trainee manager, while I was busy speaking to her manager she kept on backchatting me..

Is it how you guys train your cashiers to treat customers?.. Im never coming to shoprite again

I work in JHB CBD and will normally shop by the mini Shoprite in town, lately

the store never has cashiers and when I request to speak to the manager they are on the tills as cashiers, this is un called for and its making it difficult to go shop there because of the long queues and no-one to service us.

I'm not sure who needs to hear this or who will attend to it but this is terrible customer service and a huge inconvenience and really tiring please hire more cashiers or make sure there are sufficient cashiers to make our shopping experience easier.

I am an extremely disappointed client.

I am a very irritate customer of Shoprite Yeoville Johannesburg. Every year their service is more than poor. There are 14 tills but only 4 tills are working, why do you bother having 14 tills. today I stood on the queue for more than 2 hours. That is pathetic, there are lots of unemployed youth that can be given jobs by Shoprite since they have many tills, come on its time you change and treat us like people that were, treat us with respect, by providing excellent speedy customers service, or is it because we are black. The manger was there doing nothing, the quoue was starting at the back. It did not only happen today, it happens all the time. Please do something. The other thing, there is a leakage when customers stand to pay, the water is dripping so hard, please fix it, what will you do if a child or anybody slip and hurt themselves. You are not a spaza shop, you are a big company, I will send these complains until something changes at Shoprite. Thank you.

Please teach your cashier customer service’s at Shoprite Delmas, Sarel Cilliers Street, Mpumalanga . Cashiers name is Gabsile Mamba .. I purchased some little items that included a vegetable combo it included Spinach so the spinach didn’t have a bar code and it was no longer fresh wich I ddnt have a problem with but she said to me how am I supposed to scanned the spinach without a barcode which I didn’t know oh notice so we both stand until I asked her what’s the way foward she continue to say it doesn’t have a barcode I must go look for it where I took it … my husband looked for it and find it then after that she gave me a plastic to pack my groceries… my solution is please have the codes for loose items in the cashiers till atleast to avoid all this drama and try to have more staff so they help customers to pack their groceries

We are having a problem with the manager at Yeoville shoprite his name is Sipho we are the workers at Yeoville clinic ,we buy breakfast and lunch at the stores but he want us to join the que and our time is only 15minutes for tea and 30 minutes lunch so we ask for the changes that he makes at the store we are not happy with him,since is goanna be a black Friday how i we gonna support our shop if he treating us as if we are not a human beings can you please assist us as your customers i thank you

I went to Shoprite on the 24th of Oct to purchase a lotto ticket at about 17:16 and I stood in the queue for approximately 20min and it was not busy and there was no cashier to assist at the lotto booth. I then asked to see the manager in charge and went to her to complain that it was unfair to me as an elderly person to wait for so long with out assistance whereas the store was not busy. She then rudely told me to wait again as the cashier was coming , I asked her for how long I should wait again, she kept on eating an avocado and seem annoyed and not to care about my complaint. She didn't have a name tag on and refused to give me her name. I then asked the security personnel to give me her name bit they seemed reluctant as she was near by. I was assisted 20minutes later by a cashier who also didn't have a name tag.

This is not the first time I travel all the way from a small town an hour an a half away for special advertised and when I want to buy at your checkers in brackenfell it is out of stock before special even begin. Besides time and money for a manager to say sorry we were busy we are out of stock is unacceptable. You must be prepared for large crowds or at least compensate for the fact its outbof stock not a customers problem. Where is the service. They were fast and quivk to get rid of us and brush it away as just sorry thats how it is. I wanted specifically the cheese of 99 rand and chicken braai packs on special

I am so disappointed, I went to shoprite at Randburg Bram Fischer Drive (1004) I bought pork only to find out that the meat is rotten it smells so bad and it's not for the first time, cause last I bought the chicken hearts they were also rotten I couldn't stand the smell I throw them away at first I though it was a mistake but now this thing is happening for the second time of which is not a mistake it means that you guys you're used to this thing of yours selling the rotten meat for the customers I'm really really disappointed in you guys how can you sell rotten meat to the customers, i bought the meat on the 12-10_2023 and it expires on the13-10-2023

At shoprite eskhawin, controller Winnie Nsele has a bad attitude towards cashiers and till packers, she is harsh to then, she shouts the cashiers Infront of the customers...workers are complaining about long hours they are working after the schedule time but they are not getting paid for overtime...Managers are also shouting at Workers when asking for a void, they release the workers according to who bought them lunch or their friends.

I have been shoping at this shoprite for a year now and every month I experience more expensive products packed under a product that on special and at the till point you pay more then eat was advertised...specially chicken and frozen vegetables. Stickers are put up that state if you swipe you chopper card you get discount but it's not so when you get to the till. Staff members keep conversations while customers are waiting to be served

We purchased checkers brand milk from checkers columbine, 5 boxes (6 pack)

2 boxes were swollen and had spoilt milk messed all over, we toke it back to the store for a refund so we can purchase another brand as all the boxes that were opened were swollen, they insisted no refund and we had to take the same milk for exchange, I dont trust the checkers brand for consumption as even on the shelf all the bottles were swollen but store manager said we must try it and if theres a problem they will exchange again, im not happy with this service, I dont want to use that milk I want my more back so I can purchase another brand of milk, I have kids that use this milk everyday

I went to zola shoprite liquor today. Got all I needed and paid. Than when I was on my way out of the store, the Security guard closed the door way. He I asked what are you doing and he demanded a slip and I asked why would ask for a slip in that manner. Then that's when he said I not leave the store. I than said its best you get the manger if you feel than you. He than stated to assault me.

I went and bought my groceries at your meadowdale branch on sunday. Now normally i will stand in the queues unless it is very long as i am special needs. This sunday the queue was almost by the entrance and i was feeling dizzy, i spoke to a staff member who told me to go to customer care and they could help me there. I went there and asked to speak to the manager who eventually came, well i tell you i have never been so put down in my life. I explained to her that i shop there every month and the previous manager told me if im not well i.must go to customer care and they will ring up my stuff. This new manager due to her not knowing my history i told her i have arthritis in my joints and i have had a knee replacement and could not stand in long queues. She looked at me asked me how much i had which was a full trolley, her attitude was we only do baskets here. So i said ok well direct me to a till and they can do it there she says no thanks she doesnt want any other customer shouting at her for pushing me in. I asked her then why are you a manager if you cannot help me. Her reply was nothing. She made me feel like i was to blame for my illness and that i had no place even been in your shop let alone trying my best to live a normal life. One of the other staff helped me at the customer care counter. Your manager just walked away as if she had no business been around me. She actually made me feel like a leper in the branch. I have never felt so out of place in my life. I spent alot of money monthly at that branch...

I was at Kanyamazane Shoprite today around 11 today when I requested a lady short and chubby for some assistance regarding a certain product, the response I got from her she said she's the branch manager not a shelf packer so she won't help me. I should look out for shelf packers not her she's too busy. My shopping experience was not good I quickly went out of the store.
