Salon In Hoover, Alabama At The Riverchase Village 3780 Riverchase Village Suite 500 (Inside Sola Salons-suite 25)

I can't say the exact name of the business because the business has the owner's name as the name of the salon. However, I will say that it is located inside of Sola Salons in Hoover (Birmingham, AL). The stylist did a great job detangling my hair and conditioning. However, my hair was near mid back length and when I asked for a half-inch trim, she bluntly cut far more than that. My hair was naturally longer at the back and now, it is all short and even with the sides. I couldn't really tell how much she'd cut until I went home to try to style it. Because of all of her great reviews online, I assumed it was an accident.

When I went back for a wash and condition, first, she washed the conditioner out within a minute of applying it. Afterward, she said "how did everyone like your cut?" I said "it wasn't supposed to be a cut, I asked for a trim". She said "but how did everyone like the cut?" I said "I did not ask for a cut, I asked for a trim. I did NOT want a cut. Yes, everyone noticed it, and that means that you gave me something that I did not ask for." She then tried to backpedal and say that she didn't really cut much.

This really hurt me because I had spent three years growing my hair. I am now depressed because of her. This was basically a Black woman with shoulder length hair, like most Black women, being jealous of a Black woman whose hair was far longer. When you have long hair as a Black woman, other Black women view you as different and they have to make you 'normal' by cutting it. They can't have 'extraordinary' Black women running around here!

If you still don't know who this person is, just be careful if you visit Sola Salons at the Riverchase Village and don't let any Black women in there trim (cut) your hair. You will be sorry!
