Safelite AutoGlass - Windshield replacement

My name is Yerby Billingslea. I have a 2019 Audi A5 that I lease out to others by way of Turo. In other words, it is an important source of monthly income. On Jan. 16, 2024, while out on lease, a client had an incident that resulted in the windshield being damaged. I immediately contacted the people at Turo to file an incident report and was instructed by...

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield water leak after replacement. Drivers floor pan area soaked.

Cracked windshield was replaced on 12/1/2023 on WO 31351 however the technician failed to seal the new windshield correctly so water was leaking into the vehicle. I have custom fit floor liners to help collect water and snow that gets tracked into the vehicle and I did notice that I had to empty the water a few times over the winter but assumed it was from snow from our feet. On 2/21/24 I used a car wash and when I got back into the vehicle there was water on the floor liner and you could see where the water was running down the kick panel and dripping from the park brake area. I assumed the windshield was not sealed properly and that was the source of the water. I called the phone number on your repair receipt but it was not the correct number for your store. No idea why any business would allow the wrong number to be listed on their WO but it still has the wrong number on the WO I got yesterday. WO 44099 from 2/23/24 was to remove and reinstall the windshield to correct the previous faulty sealing of the windshield. When I dropped the car off, the lady at the front desk said the soaked floor carpet would be taken care of so I assumed that meant it would be dried completely. After I dropped off the car for this 2nd repair, I called and spoke to Devin and I asked her to feel free to keep the car overnight in their heated facility to aid the drying of carpet/foam backing. They called in about 1.5 hours and said it was ready to be picked up. I got back home and saw that the carpet had not been dried at all. I pulled up the carpet myself and everything was still soaked with water. I displaced the carpet myself to inspect and dry the area as needed. Low areas of the floor pan had standing water. If the foam was compressed, water would come out like squeezing a sponge. I now have the carpet pulled and fans running. The WO only states “possible water leak” with no explanation of what was cause of the water leak. I was told that the technician that did the 12/1 repair, used sealant where the open sealant had cured in the gun prior to my repair and the cured sealant was not removed and discarded by the technician. So the cured sealant caused the leak. Also on the 12/1 repair, the technician failed to properly locate the windshield washer line and with it not being in its correct routing location, it was now possible to be damaged in the hinge of the hood when the hood was opened and closed. VERY unhappy you’re your Miller Road store. They messed up my car and didn’t bother to properly clean up the water mess on the driver’s floor.

Desired outcome: When the previous technician screws up the repair and the carpet is soaked from water entering around the faulty workmanship, the store should be sure the carpet and floor pan area is completely dried out.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield

Had a windshield replaced May 2023, when the weather started to change there was much water on the inside of the windshield as well as a inch of water on the

drivers side carpet. The car now smells musty. We returned to Safelite the following January to have a tech look at it. He stated there was nothing wrong we should check our sunroof.

I was not happy with that explanation so we took it to another glass shop and had them replace the windshield and they told us the windshield was not sealed on either side. We again paid to have another windshield installed. We expect the money back for the first windshield and for the carpet to be cleaned and sanitized. Sincerely

Robbin Gavron

Claimed loss: One Windshield and carpet cleaning.

Desired outcome: Money back for the first windshield and carpet restored

Safelite AutoGlass - Poor service/communication

After the initial appointment, I was told that the chip in my windshield could not be repaired, I would need a replacement. The technician stated that Safelite would be contacting me to set up a new appointment. I did not hear from them, so I reached out and was able to reschedule. The day of my appointment came and because of the frigid weather here in...

Safelite AutoGlass Don't accommodate for disability

We had an unfortunate and scary event happen to us. While driving on 95s someone threw a bolder off an overpass and broke my windshield. Thankfully it didn't go all the way through!

Our insurance Amica uses Safelite and we have window protection. However, they aren't fulfilling their appointment time they gave us. We've already had to wait 3 days. Now they called at the time they said they'd arrive, to say it's too late to do it. They gave us a new date of next Tuesday!(today is Wednesday) My husband explained again that my car is especially adapted for me with handcontrols and a ramp but the associate didn't care. When my husband spoke with a manager he didn't sound like he cared either. Don't they realize that I'm stuck home until this gets fixed!? My husband thinks they should reschedule someone tomorrow since we got bumped today or send out an extra service person. This is obviously an unusual case. I can't just jump into another car or borrow one. We are Very disappointed and will try to get Amica to get us another windshield dealer in the future.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield replacement

On January 7th, 2024, I brought my 2020 Corolla to Safelite AutoGlass located at 2281 Stevens Creek Blvd, San Jose, CA 95128

Sadly, the dashboard of my car was damaged when the technicians touched it with gloves covered with windshield sealant, leaving behind a visible stain that they were unable to remove. When I pointed out to the manager and showed him the sealant, I peeled off the stain with my fingernail, the manager got upset.

Desired outcome: I would like them to professionally clean the smudge they created on the dashboard of my vehicle. It is probable that they have access to a cleaning solution that can restore the look of my car's dashboard before this unfortunate incident.

Safelite AutoGlass - Windshield installed incorrectly...

After my divorce in 2022, I purchased a 2020 Volkswagen Atlas from a local dealership in Prairieville, LA. Excited and eager to purchase my first vehicle without another person involved, I never noticed the windshield not having the Volkswagen emblem on it and CarFax does not put windshield replacements on the history. Many trips to the Volkswagen...

Safelite AutoGlass Manager - customer service

This is what I wrote to safelite:

We booked an appointment for Saturday 11/25 and when we got to your store, the desk clerk noted that we had chosen the windshield + wiper blades. Then I asked her to remove them, soon after she quoted me the amount of $266 and I requested a printout of the quote to which she replied that she could not give me one. To our surprise when we came back to pay, The amount had risen to $ 299.00 from the $266.00 that she had told me verbally previously, then both desk clerks tried to adjust the price but the system would not let them do it. Then this is when it gets bad, they called the assistant manager, Adrian Wilson, who attempted to do an adjustment and attempted to get $ from petty cash but could not and asked us to wait, Then he said that he could not do a price adjustment, then I insisted that when you are given a price that's the price and that it sometimes changes from what you are quoted. However, I told him that was hard to believe since there was nothing additional for my windshield since mine did not have anything special like cameras, etc. Then after a back and forth with him, the manager said that he would give me the difference out of his own pocket just to get rid of me. Then I told him to give me the difference since he volunteered, then he backtracked, and said that he would not give me any money out of his pocket and that I had only had the following choices: either not pay and be sent to collections or pay the full amount. Then he started saying that I was screaming, which is not the case since he was at the same volume level, and said that the desk clerks were uncomfortable with me and the volume level. I feel that the back and forth was between the manager and me and not the clerks but I just went ahead and apologized to him and the girls. This is what's really disconcerting, managers are there to resolve disputes and offer resolutions that are both a win-win for the customer and company. I do not feel that he accomplished that very well and by the same token, he pretty much violated the mantra that the customer is always right. He also was not capable of bringing down the heat in the room, as a matter of fact, he escalated by jumping in and pretty much tried to intimidate me and my wife. I am very satisfied with the installation service but your manager really rained on our parade by just trying to get his way and to win an argument at all costs and at the end create a situation where there is customer dissatisfaction. In all honesty, I would not recommend "Safelite" to any of my relatives and friends because it looks like you don't stand by your estimates and can change pricing on the invoice without any justification or logical explanation. My instinct tells me, if someone tells you a price that should be the price that you are invoiced.

Claimed loss: wasted my time and $33.00

Desired outcome: would love it if the manager had been more proactive and explained the difference and since they could not explained it, refund me the difference.

Safelite AutoGlass Windshield

I had a windshield replaced in Feb of 2023, and the cover behind the mirror fell off, and tech were called and they came out and literally punched it to get it back up, it fell off again and again, with them punching it up. Finally they came out and told me that the windshield hooks are on upside down and I need a new windshield. A guy came out in October and looked at the windshield and said the previous guy was new and didn't know what he was talking about and it just needs a new cover. I asked if he was sure, and he confirmed he was. The cover came off again behind the mirror within 3 weeks. I called and told them about it and a lady confirmed I would get a new windshield and a new cover. we scheduled the appt for Oct 28th I received a text and phone call affirming that they would be out between 8-12 on the 28th and they never showed up. I called on the 28th and told someone about them not showing up he put me on hold for over 30 minutes. I hung up and called back on the 29th. they said they could have someone come out on the 30th and replace the windshield but since the cover was new a month ago they were not going to put a new cover on. I said, I want both the new cover and the new windshield and he stated he would not buy a new cover. I asked to speak with his manager because I don't know the cover isn't damaged from being put on the bad hooks on the windshield. He said he was the supervisor and his name was Shawn Tez. I said I was not having them out until I had the new windshield and cover as promised when I spoke with the lady a couple weeks ago to make the appt for the 28th for them not to show up. He would not order me the new cover, and I want both. I want the new cover and the new windshield as promised. He refused. I am having to call back tomorrow to speak to Emily to make sure I get a new cover and windshield. This is the worst run around I have ever gotten. Safelite should be graciously giving me a new cover and windshield due to this disastrous sequence of events over a windshield replacement since almost a year ago. I will give safelite the poorest of poor in communication, and in fixing the issue to begin with. I would like a phone call, response and understanding that I get installed a new cover for the rear view mirror and the new windshield.

Desired outcome: the new windshield and rear view mirror cover asap my cell phone is [protected] Karen Stephens

Safelite AutoGlass - Windshield replacement

A week ago a tech came to my place of work and replaced my windshield. He also said he had to replace my rearview mirror. He told me "it's a Nissan mirror" even though I have a Toyota. He literally told me that if I wanted a better mirror, I could go to Car Toys. As I was at work and busy, I said ok and he left. When I went to leave work, I recognized that...

Safelite AutoGlass - Incomplete and poor workmanship on windshield repair

On October 30, 2023, I had and went in for an appointment to repair a windshield "chip" on my 2017 Chevy Trax at your Naperville IL location. I spoke with the tech. He told me when the repairs were complete "all I would see would "be like a smudge" like a bug smudge. WRONG! NO sooner did I pull out of the lot, got less than 2 blocks away, I turned around...

Safelite AutoGlass Window Replacement

My right passenger window was cracked due to an apparent attempt to steal my vehicle. My insurance company advised through the glass replacement on my policy I had to go through Safelight for a replacement. I filed my claim on September 25, 2023 and was advised the glass was ordered. To date, I have never hear back from Safelight and I called 100 times. Totally disregarded me. Horrible customer service. I would never use them and would never ever or recommend this company to anyone.

Safelite AutoGlass Rear window install

I went into a safelite location so that I could get help with an assistant to order my glass that I needed. I brought in my truck and the assistant got my Vin number of my truck and looked at my broken rear window, And helped to schedule my appointment date. So on 10/16/23 I dropped my truck early in the morning. Then on the same date I received a call from the technician telling me that the glass that was ordered was not correct, the difference was that the middle window opened up and down and my original opens side to side with a power button. So their solution was to use my original window slider and it should work fine, But it would have to stay overnight. I said it was fine. So the next day I went to pick up my truck, and they told me it's fixed but now the slider doesn't open. 😡

Desired outcome: I want my window to be able to open again, it worked before bringing my car in.

Safelite AutoGlass 2016 Ford Edge rear window install. Vestal NY store.

Went to appointment for rear window install on our Ford Edge SUV.

The technician came out, looked at the car and said he couldn't do the install because of the rear visor. They don't remove the visor to do the glass install because they break them. Had to go to a Ford dealer to have the visor removed. Went back to Safelite and had the glass installed.

Returned to dealer, dealer re-installed the visor and removed door panels to vacuum out the glass inside of the door. Which Safelite didn't do. Dealer noticed glass not installed properly preventing rear defogger from working. Returned to Safelite and was told that they would have to replace the new window with another.

1) Why were we not informed that a dealer needed to remove the visor?

Looking around, almost every SUV on the road has a rear visor.

2)Why didn't Safelite remove the broken glass inside of the rear hatch?

3)Why would the technician let a faulty install leave the shop?
