Roto-Rooter Group - Leaking kitchen sink

I called on Saturday 2-10-2024 to have someone come out due to my kitchen sink was linking. Moe Alhijazi came to fix the issue. I was told by Moe that the issue was the Fauset, so he tightened the lose screw and put tape around it and said it is fixed. I was so happy; I was like wow that was quick. Moe replied yep it will save money when you know what to...

Roto-Rooter Group Cost of the work. Big mess left behind.

The Roto Rooter employee told us that because our job was small and that it would take only about an hour they charge a flat rate of $398. He left and came back with a pipe. He used a pipe that was about 12 inches and took only about 15 minutes. He told my husband that it would actually be more money without an explanation as to why. We were charged $469. On line it says the small leaks are usually around $169, not much more. Several years ago we had a similar problem which cost us less than $200. I would not have agreed to the price but we would have had to pay $107 for no service at all. The workers also left a big mess in the bathroom. They didn't bother to cover the sink or floor. Neither did they ask if we had coverage. The date of service was 10/25/2013. Approximately 3-3:30 pm

Desired outcome: Less money and less mess

Roto-Rooter Group Two water valves were leaking and were replaced

I know that I approved the job , but after the valves were replaced and I was able look at what was approved. I was shocked at the cost: To get the valves replaced it was $974.00 for less than 20 minutes of work. To remove two faucets from garage wall , then replace them. The total price was $1094.14 minus $250.00 discount final balance $844.14 . I called this morning (10/20/2023)

Customer Service acted like they didn’t care since I approved the work. I got the impression that all care is about taking as money from me. All I want to know is Roto Rooter only interest is over charge customers and not listen when a customer notices of the big error that has happened.

Hope that someone can check into this inflated price for 20 minutes of and stop referring to preset price sheet, look at work the is going to do.

Desired outcome: Get a reasonable labor cost the reflects the work that was actually done.

Roto-Rooter Group - Category 3 basement water clean up egregious job (black water)

We contacted Roto-Rooter on 10/2/2023/ due to a  sewage water backup in the basement.  FrankMihalic (Water Restoration Specialist) inspected the water cleanup with the tenant, and  Courtney was told the cost would be around five to six thousand dollars.  I spoke with Frank, a technician for the Roto-Rooter Runnemede  Branch.  I spoke with Frank and wa...

Roto-Rooter Group Mainline repair

Roto-Rooter replaced the mainline in a satisfactory manner, but getting any information was like pulling teeth. I've called five or six times and I'm fed up. I had to call twice asking when they would perform the mainline repair. Then I had to call a few times asking when the sidewalk repair would be completed and now I called again to find out when the inspection would be complete and when the garbage would be removed from my sidewalk. I am DONE calling. Now, apparently, it's my problem even though they stated they would handle everything. I will never use them again.

Desired outcome: I want to know when the final inspection will be completed and when all of the material used to block the sidewalk will be removed.

Roto-Rooter Group Damaged my property - giving out expired lic information

Roto-Rooter of Lee Co charged me $ 2,200 to find the clean-out and to raise the clean-out and to repair a broken PVC sewer pipe in the yard. The technician dug multiple holes in the lawn, 2 right in front of the fence gate, where my irrigation pipe is running. During this process he damaged my irrigation pipe, but didn't mention a word about the irrigation pipe he damaged. He just covered it up with soil and grass and when I run the irrigation a week later a sink hole opened up right in front of my fence gate. When I came home from a walk with my dog, I stepped into the hole - very negligent from the technician. I requested the repair in writing via email and verbally. I didn't got a response from this irresponsible and negligent 24/7 available plumbing company. Unfortunately until they repair the irrigation, I can't water my lawn or landscaping. When I called I talked to Brian, one of the owners. He said the manager will call you back. When I ask Brian who the owner of the company is, he told me that he can't give out any company information. Meanwhile I figured it out that the company belongs to 3 family member, one of them is Brian. When I asked him for their Lic number he said he doesn't has the lic number he has to look it up or I can do it myself online. I responded that I did and the License number on the invoice expired 3 years ago. He got very angry with me and told me not to call this business ever again and hang up on me. Unfortunately this 24/7 hours business is not responding at all to the damage done to my property and the repairs. Meanwhile I found the new company information, the new license number and the 3 family owners Debra, Brian and Christopher and filed a license complain against them yesterday, apparently they or not only reckless with their customers property, they are rude and misleading the general public in regards to the contractor lic law. I found their new license under Christopher Ford. Not really sure why a honest business is trying to hide their company information and particular their license information as this is the law to provide License and Insurance to their customers. Please do me a favor don't pretend you didn't service my property in Naples as you like to do when people give you one star only.

Desired outcome: Repair my property the technician damaged

Roto-Rooter Group Main line replacement

On May 27,2023 Roto Rooter dispatched a technician to my location in regards to the cesspool backed up into my basement. The tech snaked the line but the water did not recede. He called another person who used to work at Roto Rooter to empty my cesspool because Roto rooter does not empty the cesspool. That did not work. A supervisor responded with a camera and he advised me he could not get the camera to the cesspool. He advised me I need to replace the main line to the cesspool. He then advised me that it would cost 14,500 and I could finance the amount with no interest for a year after that it was 30 percent .He also told he it would take about eight hours and if I signed the contract he would have another guy respond to water jet the line so I could use my water.Another guy from Roto rooter responded and advised me he could have a team respond right away to clean the back up from my basement for 7,000 dollars. Then he viewed my insurance policy and stated they are not going to cover the clean up and left. The 3 man team to replace the line showed up and finished in two hours in half. I contacted the office to get a detained bill for my insurance and the girl that handled the invoices told me they don’t do that. Then you provided me with another invoice with labor to access the pipe is 500.00. So I asked her if it makes sense that to access 60feet of pipe and she told me that’s what her supervisor told her to write. After I asked to speak to her supervisor she provided me with another invoice for 3978.00 for labor to access the pipe 3978 labor to install the pipe 3978.00 labor to back fill and 350. 00 in parts. No bad approximately 2000.00 an hour labor for each worker. So final tally was 700.00 for snake 500 for cesspool empty ,14,500 for main line install and water jet. I spoke to another company and they said they would have replaced main line and cesspool for 9,500. So it cost 12,200 for two and half hours labor from Roto Rooter.

Desired outcome: Partial refund

Roto-Rooter Group Clean up / restoration

i had a main burst and a garage break...i had an appointment with an adjuster who came over. Promised alot of things which didn't happen. A write off of 1,000$ on the deductible...20% off on plumbing work...and most notably promised to put my things in storage most notably my CD collection which was worth 50,000$ ...he even said and they'll put them all right back where they found them...and that workers were going to come that weekend (not true as it took almost a year to get workers)...what's most interesting they took the CDs from part of the room where no damage was done...but at the time i thought they were going to storage which made sense...only thing when i called 3 months later the girl answering the phone said there wasn't storage...however i was led to believe there was storage twice...once by the adjuster and once by an email stating they would be held there for 3 months...i call the girl says there's not any storage service...her supervisor grabs the phone from her when i tell her i'm calling the police...then he threatens me not denying they were stolen he says "boy there were more than one leak and i'll tell the insurance the truth"...then says he has pictures of the cds and that they were trashed...he sends the pictures but it's just says on a piece of paper 1000s of cds and 1000 of books...no pictures...so i call the police get a police report...then i contact a CEO but he denies me said they were all damaged but that's impossible as i live there and saw the cds...true the one's near the main were destroyed but that was only a small % of the total cds...what they took were the most precious and expensive CDs and boxsets.

Desired outcome: i'd like to know a recommendation of a further step to take...the CEO plainly didn't read my e-mails...he promised to call but he never did but was able to deny me and never asked a question of me.

Roto-Rooter Group Sump pump

To whom it may Concern:

Roto Rotor to repair/replace my Sump Pump on 4 March 2023.
The Technician, Chris came and repair it and charge me $1,005. He said it was good to go and that I had a one year warranty. I paid the $1,005 by Credit Card. Within a week the pump stop working again. I call Roto Rooter to send someone to check out the issue as it was under warranty, on 17 March a Technician, named Nick looked at the unit and determine it was not working and said it would cost me $1,600 to fix it. I remind him of the warranty, but he said that it was not covered under the warranty as the previous technician did not fix the problem, but only replace the float. I believe that the warranty should be honoured or my $1,005 refunded. What is the status of my complaint? I need my refund! I have called over 30 times and wrote numerous emails, but NOTHING. Yours Sincerely,

Roto-Rooter Group Plumbing

I reached out to Roto Rooter due to their excellent service reputation. I had just moved (only living in my new apartment 3 days) and didn't want to already bother my landlord. I had dropped the lid of my vitamins into the toilet (who puts a medicine cabinet over a toilet! LOL). I called and made an appointment and while the operator was really good about calling with updates, etc. The plumber was still over 5 hours late from the original scheduled time. When he arrived he was very pleasant and professional but I couldnt figure out what was taking him so long. I was charged over $300 and was told that I would have to pay that, even if the problem wasn't resolved (which sounded a little ridiculous to me - whey would I want to pay for service that didn't resolve my issue) but I had no choice and agreed, After an hour and a half, the toilet flushed once and never again. I was in tears and was sitting on my doorstep, in tears, when a new neighbor came by and asked what was wrong. I told him. He came into my bathroom, took off the lid, did something else (no tools) and fished the vitamin jar lid out. The toilet was fixed and has flushed great since. I don't want or expect a refund but would like a partial refund since the very overly inflated rate I was charged didn't even fix my problem. Thank you

Roto-Rooter Group Roto Rooters

I had a leak in my shower and the technician by the name of Juan said that he would fix it. We had hot and cold water running through the shower before he worked on it. He chargered $750.00. Went to take a shower and my shower now only runs hot water. He wants another $1000.00 to come back and fix it like it was before he worked on it. What a rip off. This is a bad business deal.

Desired outcome: I want him to come back and fix my shower so that it will run hot and cold water like it was before he broke it

Roto-Rooter Group Drain cleaning

Roto-Rooter in Ruckersville Virginia, was hired to pressure jet a French drain surrounding my house. This tool was recommended by the company over the phone.

The equipment could not execute the job. Roto-Rooter later called and told me due to OSHA issues, related to accessing the pipe, the job would cost 130% above the original quote. OSHA regulations were ignored and violated during the initial visit. In a written follow up to the failed service call, it was explained that the jetting nozzle could not negotiate the turns in the terracotta pipe surrounding my house and that this was a common problem for the equipment. This information was also not shared with me before service began. If I had known the shortcomings of the equipment and higher cost due to OSHA issues I would not have agreed to the work.

The company had been called to clean out a buried pipe surrounding my house. When the technician arrived at my home we walked around the perimeter of my house and I showed him access points to the pipe and what I believed were problem areas. After that, the first thing the technician did was clean a pipe that ran along the length of my driveway. This was not covered in the scope of work nor was it done with my consultation, but since the company ‘did something’, though it wasn’t what I wanted or why I had called, they used this as the basis for charging me in full for the service call.

The final invoice that was sent, insisting on payment under threat of legal action, misrepresents the events of the service and quote. I have contacted the Ruckersville Office and the Better Business Bureau requesting a refund of $799.95 and agreeing to pay the $60.00 fee I would have been charged for declining the service. Unfortunately, the company’s response has been to send written responses describing the service that are false and conflicting, one account references a drainage pond on my property. There is no drainage pond on my property.

I hope you can resolve this problem. I feel that the company’s customer service has been abysmal. The company’s main goal has been to bully a homeowner into paying for a failed service call. The technician ignored my instructions related to the work I wanted done and the company has shown no interest customer service or providing quality work.

I appreciate any help that you can provide in addressing my refund request. Please reference invoice # 67748.

Desired outcome: Return of cost of failed service $799.95

Roto-Rooter Group Customer service/service tech

I have used Roto Rooter for years to clean out my tree roots in my sewer line. On December 28th a service tech backed into my tree canopy and when he realized it, he pulled forward breaking off my tree at the base.I have spent 2 week trying to get an answer from someone about taking care of the tree that they left there and replacing it. I have gotten the run around from everyone until today. I was told that the owner didn't want to deal with me and to refund the money for my sewer fixing, and good luck to me on finding another company that will help me when I need it done again. This was passed onto me by a woman at the office, who tried to look for a tree for me, but at this point I was already upset and said I wanted the refund. She was nice in the beginning, however she was not today. I also spoke to a different in the office when it first happened and she was never nice to me about it. The service guys tried to cover up their mistake and didn't even tell me right away. Never have I ever felt like a piece of trash instead of a client from a major corporation.

Desired outcome: I would like an apology, not to be treated like a piece of crap the owner doesn't want to deal with.

Roto-Rooter Group Plumbing, unclogg toilet, lied about findings, over billed. Dissatisfied.

Invoice #91926 on 12-10-2022. Reason For Call: Master BR toilet clogged up.

Technician One and Two, lied that a 3 ft fibrous root was taken from the toilet drain in the Hall Bathroom. Photo shows it could not have come from a toilet drain. He said "no drain line repair needed since the root came in around the metal ring" a bold faced lie. No damaged drain pipes with such huge root? Photos can prove that. Tech Two had appeared w/o notice in Hall BR with a large wet orange bucket. No roots debris on floor and no waste in area, root fully intact, floor perfectly clean, some clear water to be mopped up. No sounds of any equipment heard from the room. Large long intact fibrous root cut at one end indicates likely from a septic system. not my drains.. No t. paper or solids. Nothing could pass that mess in a 4"line for months, or even years prior. The toilet suddenly plugged on the day of service. No tree next to the house, bath interior of building. Tech Two said the tree could be a"whole block away:"

Tech One said to use the Hall bathroom, would not check out clogged Master bath, reason for call. Toilet was not broken as he lied in his Invoice, the tank lid was cracked.

He presented three blank pads. He entered my card number which I said did not prefer on a blank pad. I refused to sign for satisfaction. Was not.

Unplugging tollet not a $420 job, reason he lied.

Do not want their warranty as they are not a company I want to do business with again. Do not trust these people. The Tech never gave me eye coantact and his hair hung in his face most of the time. The photo is available of the Tech holding up the huge root he said came frm my drain. No way would the two toilets that were back to back in two separate bathrooms have huge toilet and not have been a problem before this. No drain tiles or pvc damaged is absurd that this could enter the water ine without having damage that would leak water under the house, and be noticeable. Bathroom floor had no indicate of a job pulling this huge root out of line. Tech Two is believed to have brought this root into the house in his wet bucket. They did not tell me he was entering my house and I was not noticed nor given permission. He said he came to give the Tech One (Craig) a wax ring for the toilet was going to be seated on top of the old blackened one.

There is one trustworthy tech that I used to know with this local business and he was not available.

Unable to load photo, system not working, need technical help but have the photo.

Desired outcome: I want refund of the full charges $451.76.

Roto-Rooter Group Services not completed as promised

We contacted roto rooter on 12/22/2022 thinking we had a blocked main drain. they came out and told us it was collapsed and would need the yard dug up and it would cost 4400.00. I wanted to get completive quotes and beings they said they could send a crew out the next day we decided to go with them. I called two other company's and cancelled trusting that ROTO ROOTER would stand by their name and business. We paid them 2000.00 down and they said they would be here the next day at 8:00am. So they called us the next day and advised that it was too cold, the trucks would not start and I spoke to the manager and he said that the backhoes would not start. If this was a legitimate well ran business they would have been prepared yesterday. So they told me they would just refund my money and " we were being unreasonable" complaining that we wanted the service that they promised and that he would just refund my money knowing we have a family in need of plumbing. Rotor Rooter is a poor company to do business with and very dishonest. Will be reporting to better business bureau for them taking a 2000.00 down payment. they also left our toilet uninstalled because we thought they would be back. What a bunch of pathetic losers.

Bobby Hackworth

Desired outcome: A written apology from Roto Rooter we have had family fly in and our kids here and were promised next day services that's why we paid 2000. down. This local management in overland park is very rude and dishonest.

Roto-Rooter Group $800 charge for simple drain snaking.

Bathtub and toilet would not drain and I regrettably assumed RotoRooter was a trustworthy company. Tech arrived on time was very friendly. He told me that problem was caused by 2 ply paper and long hair. BS. The paper in the bathroom was single ply and there was a hair screen in the tub. He tried cleaning the toilet, which did no good. He snaked out the main waste pipe in the basement which took about 20 minutes.

Charged me $750 plus $49 tax!

Desired outcome: Refund of excessively high price

Roto-Rooter Group Warranty

I had an old kitchen sink that was working but looked old. I bought a new sink and had Roto Rooter install it on 11/13/22. The next day I noticed that the sink was not draining well. I called them and they had someone come out on 11/16/22 and said that it was not covered under the warranty and it was going to cost over $565 to clean out the drain even though it was working before they put the sink in and it was only two days old.

Desired outcome: I would like my sink to work the way it worked before they installed the new one and it should be covered under the warranty since it is literally only two days old.

Roto-Rooter Group Johnson's sewer and drain cont. Inc. T/A Toto Rooter, PO Box 559, Easton MD. 21601

10-11-2022 9:00 am. Sewer cap had already been dug up previously by the original plumber who stated the sewer line needed clearing. Small bathroom was clear. The other was not. Snaked the line. Got about a 6 inch size fibrous amount of rolled up roots. On the bill, technician stated there were wipes in sewer line. He did remove the toilet. There was 1 wipe beside the balled-up mess he showed me. There was a white wipe that was not dirty as it should be if had been in sewer line. I stated to technician that I did not put wipes in the toilet. The only thing that went down the toilet was what supposed to go down the toilet. He was here for 4 hours. In the final 2 hours he had a rod that he inserted into toilet floor hole and continuously prodded into the hole and making the floor to shake. The only thing that came out were a few less than dime size pieces of something. Now I fear having a leak under the bathroom floor from all the pounding on the pipeline. I finally told him that was enough. It had been 4 hours. The last 2 hours nothing was accomplished. So, he put the stool back in place. The charge was $1000. Had to pay that day. Paid by charge card. He could not give me a receipt. He said it would be mailed. I called later and asked for a receipt. It was mailed to me on Oct. 21, 2022. Very disappointed with the service. Horrible experience.

Roto-Rooter Group Roto root our drain

We have sued roto rooter in the past and their pricing was fair. We called again today, and the plumber stated there would be a 40.00 minimum charge. After 45 minutes and a small amount of fibrous roots we got a bill for $ 717.00. What a rip off and I'll never use them again. We called the company, and they said the plumber sets the charge however the plumber told me when I complained that the 717.00 fee was the fee is charged by the company.

Desired outcome: Cut the fee

Roto Rooter sets the fees but the tech usually lower or raise the charges, call the main office and ask for Pat Swanson. Shell fix it, unless the Roto Rooter you used was a franchise
