Unauthorized credit card charges
I was in platos closet, morgantown, wv on 3/14/24. I purchased items as usual and left. A week later I balanced my card transactions and noticed they'd charged me twice. $63.13. I called and left a message for the "manager" who I was told would call back the next day. After 4 days, no call, I went back in to the store to attempt to resolve. I was told the manager couldn't find the proof (i have it on my phone) and would have to call the credit card company. I said ok, how soon can I expect her to do that? The answer was oh not until past Easter, we are slammed and don't have time to deal with it. (There were maybe 3 people shopping and at least 5 working)
I would appreciate if you fixed your error in a timely manner. I have responsibilities

Selling my gently used clothes
I went three different plato's closet to sell my clothes that I haven't worn in years and they didn't look through it properly, I called them beforehand and they claim that it wasn't in season but it shouldn't have to be in season as long as I sell my clothes. I failed to really look through my clothes and they need to be shut down if they can't do their jobs right.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate it they would of gave me a offer for the clothes I'm selling than say "we can't take it" and I want to be paid back because I spent 70 dollars on lyft trying to get to each of those locations.

This happened on 1/21/24 around 1pm. I brought in a Louis Vuitton purse with 3 bags of clothes. I walked out of there with $40 and an entire bag of clothes gone. I got home to find that the Louis Vuitton purse was gone. One of the employees at Plato’s Closet stole the purse from me and didn’t include it in the buy. I am beyond livid as I could’ve sold that online but now it’s gone and I received nothing for it.

I went to sell my cloths at platos closet southcenter Tukwila, wa. I was asked for for my ID and my cell phone number. I told them i did not have a cell phone.
(there is nothing on Platos Closet Tukwila or corprate web site saying a cell phone is required only ID/passport.) then i was told that i was unable to sell there with out one, I asked if there was any other possible way i traveld far with out a vehicale. she spoke with the manager and he said there was nothing he could do its a corprate policy.

Store not answering phone, promised 2 days, it's been over a week since I dropped off my bag
Last Friday, 8/18/23 in the afternoon, I went to the South Portland Maine Plato's Closet where they took forever to even acknowledge me standing there, then they said leave your bag here it'll take about 2 days. I drove 40 mins back home, they never called, it's been over a week. They don't answer the phone. I think they ripped me off. Very upsetting. I have been a loyal customer and donator for many years and this is just not right. I will be upset if they donated or took it all without giving me the money from MY stuff.
Desired outcome: I would like them to either call me back like they promised since I left voice messages, and tell me how much of my stuff they took and the money they will give me for taking my stuff.
Requirements
I provide alot of clothes today to sell some had tags I provide shoes that were worn literally 3 tines so in amazing condition. The clothes were from hollister buckle some other places but over all great condition I take care of my thins very well. Now they bought one pair of sweatpants that were from shein an cost me 7 dollars they gave me 3 which is fine but all the other clothes and shoes they didn't want they said the clothes were in poor condition yet they still had tags an they definitely weren't in poor condition. Alot of the clothes sold there are in poor condition i'm just trying to clean my closet out because I shop alot and not at thrift stores. I saw the same exact shoes I was selling same color an all these shoes were torn an had been used obviously but to the point the white on the shoes were brown an black yet mine were in amazing condition due to then being worn 3 times they had no damage barley black on the bottom. Yall did not accept them and i'm clueless to why now i'm not upset about yall not takin the clothes an giving me money i'm upset that yall don't accept perfectly good things when all ima do is throw them in the trash an buy me something new. These clothes or shoes could go to your store an help others that are really looking for a bargain off of other people's used things I don't get it! The stuff in yalls store is dingy out of style to pricey for stuff that has been washed a million times. It's a shame of your stores and the people running them. I want nothing from your company I just thought i'd make a complaint on how the store is profiling people's clothes and i'm not even sure based off what because it's not dingy enough? Yall scamming ppl selling used stuff for more money your company is ridiculous and i'll never be at your stores again. Have a great day

Service and handling of my merchandise
I took my merchandise to Roanoke location today 7/21.
I took the items in a new tote and all items was folded neatly.
When I received the items back that was not purchased they was thrown in the tote like garbage (I am highly upset)
The items I took are from my deceased husband and I just had the courage and strength to go through his clothes and bring them to your Roanoke location, and for his items to be handled in that manner is disgusting..

Selling process
In the state of Kentucky where I live when you go to the DMV to renew your license and give you a paper copy of your identification or and or driver's license this is state issued as a watermarks information how long it's valid for which is usually 45 days. So I go in to sell items to Plato's closet and some girl in the Lexington Kentucky store not even sure if she was a manager or not before even listening to us she said the only way she could take a paper copy is if we had a non expired actual card staple to it and this was the craziest thing I've ever heard if I had the actual copy I wouldn't need to pay for they ask for your old license when you go to the DMV so I just don't understand why someone is so uneducated gets to work with the public there's places for people like her and it's called McDonald's her name is Kenna at the Lexington Kentucky store. Not to mention when you go in the store it looks like a war zone it's a disaster and they have mass amounts of clothing that they have to go through so we knew coming in that we were going to get some pushback for trying to sell with them today because they were understaffed in the store look horrible take a small drive to Florence Kentucky or Cincinnati Ohio and see how a Plato's closet is supposed to run the Lexington store should be shut down and them girls should be back into a fast food line somewhere. The length of time it takes him to buy your stuff you can see that they have major major management problems and problems as a franchise for not overlooking such a store that is running so poorly.
There buying service
OK on Thursday June 8th at the north academy location. I brought I'm 2 full totes of clothes name brand items (under armor new balance a Michael Kors purse) sre just a fraction of name brands I have. No stains in great shape. I go there to fill out all the stupid crap they want. I leave go to the dollar tree just s few doors down and it wasn't 10 minutes at all maybe 5 and they texted me that they were done there is absolutely no earthly way they even looked st everything I 10 minutes or less all they wanted was 1 pair of jeans and some items I had bought from there. I had at least probably 200 or more pieces of clothing and a bottle of perfume test was not even have used. I've seen bottles of perfume with less than what mine had for sale. So I'm so irate and so sorry that I know for a fact they didn't look at any of my stuff hardly at all I don't buy cheap clothes all they wanted was 1 lousy pair of jeans I'm really pist off

So there are 3 specific workers that everytime I come in they will never buy any of my items literally at all they are snobby rude little girls but then when I bring my items in when other people are working my items are bought I’m not sure what it is with these little girls and myself but something needs to be done I’m tired of wasting my time with them say something to management and nothing happens so

Buying clothes
I have gone a few times to sell items and I'm always sent back with what I brought in. Occasionally they'll buy something for a dollar or two. I brought 3 pairs of shoes and 2 purses in today. One pair of shoes was almost new and very much in season. I decided to walk around the store today as they did my buy. I saw similar shoes on the racks for $40-50 and many of them were very worn and even dirty. When I questioned why my items were rejected when they clearly had items for sale that looked way worse. All I was told is sometimes the buyers make mistakes. I feel it is 100% a race issue. If they are buying worse items from other people, why wouldn't my same item be able to sell especially since it's in a way better condition. None of it ever makes sense. Are items only preferred if they come from someone who is Caucasian?

I always have a great experience with Plato's Closet in Hattiesburg, except when a long time employee/manager is working.
She treats me soooo horribly unfair.
Today, she told me 2 hours ago she was finishing my drop off. So Ive been standing here looking at my finished pile of clothes for almost 2 hours while other people are checking in and out right in front of me!
Thank God the other girls noticed wat she was doing to me and started on checking in my pile!
About 6 times ago, she left for the day and left my clothes undone!
I NEVER GET A TEXT TO MY PHONE WHEN SHE CHECKS ME IN! So, she left for the day and didn't call me like she told me she would!
It was closing time and I dropped off at 3pm with her.
Also she has, more than once, not gone thru my bag, let others get ahead of me , ECT .
This girl should not be a Plato's team member! ALL THE OTHER GET GIRLS ARE GREAT! They do there job completely and speedy, and fairly.
All customers should be treated fairly and equally.

This location for the past 2 years at least had been making their own rules against company policy. They make the sellers stay inside the store for hours and refuse to buy their clothes if they leave. They give you a limit on how many clothes you can bring. They didn't have these rules until Amy the manager started. Other locations don't do this either like the San Marcos. They also gave me $6 for a coach purse and H&M brand new dress.
Desired outcome: I want to sell my clothes here again but if they refuse to follow company policy and continue to be rude to sellers then no. Amy should be fired and they need to be audited.

Ice on handicap ramp and sidewalk
On Mon December 26th my wife Amy Rudisel, went to Plato’s Closet in Terre Haute, Indiana. My wife is handicapped and while utilizing the ramp she slipped on the ice and hurt her right shoulder, right hip, and right knee. She was able to get up, and went in to tell the workers in the store that she had fallen and that the ramp needed salt. As she was leaving, the workers just laughed. I am unsure as to the amount of damage that had been done to her body. I expect a response, or the next communication you have from me will be through our attorney.

Brought in items to sell, they didn't even look inside my bag.
I brought in 2bags ( 1 large travel bag and 1 small duffle bag) to sell today. All my clothes were freshly washed and folded and neatly placed in these bags. Some were new with tags still attached. I checked in and left the store and about 20mins they sent a text to come pick up my money and items. I thought to myself- man that was fast, and headed up there. Well the girl told me that they were going to pass on all but 5 items and offered me $28.47 for those items . I said ok and took the money and my bags and went to my truck. Upon looking at my receipt, the 5 items was only from the bigger bag. So I unzipped the smaller one and everything it still exactly the way I put them in there. They never even unzipped it . And the better , more expensive items were in the smaller bag. They purchased a necklace from me that was not stamped or anything. In the unopened bag was a 22k necklace clearly marked and still in irginal packaging.
Desired outcome: For them to accurately look at the items I have and then decided weather they want them. I want them to do there job, correctly.
Manager scammed customer
I wanted to buy a adidas sneaker today, I couldn’t, the manager changed the price from $14 to $35 scamming me. The shoe was priced for $14 when, I asked if the price was correct the sell lady said yes, it was the price. When I came to the cash register a other sells lady took the shoe went to the manager. They talked, the manager started writing on the back of the shoe. The sell lady came back and told me the shoe was $35. They changed the price. I said you can not do this I will make a complaint. I showed her the $14 price she said it was not $14,,,it was $35. She raised her voice aggressively, stating I could buy it for $35. I ask for her name she refused. I ask for the supervisor she sad she was the supervisor. She tried to scam me. This is unacceptable! I took photos of the shoe and the different prices on each shoe. I believe she tried to say I changed the price of the shoe. This happened on Sunday, November, 6, 2022.
Desired outcome: I would like that this manager needs to be disciplined.
Shift Supervisor
I was in the plato's closet location in Charlottesville, VA on 10/14/22 at around 7pm. The cashier was new and she messed up pricing on an item for the customer. The cashier grabbed her supervisor for assistance and the supervisor, Glenda, was incredibly rude to the customer. They got into a verbal altercation because she was being snotty and not willing to handle the situation. The customer asked for her name so that she could file a complaint, and she wouldn't give her her name (which I'm pretty sure they can't do). The customer ended up leaving. Once I got up to the register I asked the cashier what her supervisor's name was but she was too nervous to tell me. I could tell that she was scared of Glenda. Once Glenda got back to doing her task from across the store, I asked the customer again what the supervisor's name was and she whispered to me "Glenda". She was terrified of her. The cashier was not efficiently trained and had to keep grabbing Glenda to help her out. I asked if she was okay and she started crying stating she wasn't trained good enough to be running a register. But Glenda wouldn't run it either. I feel so bad for that cashier. And Glenda is walking around like she is better than everyone, catching attitudes and getting into arguments any chance she gets. I'm a job coach for a living and this was one of the worst working environments I have seen thus far.
Desired outcome: I would like Glenda to be spoken to about her attitude. She wouldn't provide her name to the customer so she thinks that she got away with it. Also provide more support to the new cashiers.
Lack of costumer service.
I came in today to Sell some clothes for my first time. I shop at this store weekly sometimes 2 times a week. I was told 45 min. Left, no text or call. 3 hours later I return to have them tell me they couldn't take anything because of smell. If I knew you didn't wash clothes I would have. I actually find it disgusting you don't. As I was leaving I was frustrated, my bags flew into some clothes as I was leaving. Security guard follows me out to inform me I won't be allowed in again with the bad attitude. After this, I'm furious. I leave and call the store. Lady answers, I explain what happened and wanted to let her know her Security guard is out of line. No remorse or nothing. She actually hangs up on me! Something needs to be done. I'll never shop a5 your establishment again. When I left yes I was upset, gas ain't cheap, but for such a loyal costumer to be treated like trash, terrible customer service!

I was offered $31 for all the above. Before I knew what they had purchased as the girls did not show me what they kept at the store, I noticed the expensive dress shoes were missing along with all name brand stuff. I called the store and asked them if they thought $31 was fair for all they took. The girl on the phone which I was told was the manager was rude. She told me I could give them the money back if I wasn’t satisfied. I was in bad need of cash and let them rip me off. I have sold to Plato’s closet before and never felt robbed like that.
