OpenSky Mixed Experiences with Opensky

As someone deeply familiar with the world of online marketplaces, I must say that Opensky seems to evoke a range of emotions among its customers. While some appreciate the unique products and fast delivery, others express frustration with issues like customer service and product quality. It's clear that Opensky has room for improvement in certain areas to enhance the overall shopping experience. If you decide to explore Opensky, approach with a balanced mindset and be prepared for a mixed bag of experiences.

OpenSky Satisfied so far

I am completely satisfied with this card so far! I am using it to boost my credit score so I can buy a home and within the first month 2 bureaus went up... one 39 and the other 51. It does take about 5 days or so to post payment to account so I would recommend paying no later than a week before the billing date. I just had Hulu auto pay my card and make payments online to opensky via my checking account. I would definitely recommend this card if you need a credit boost!

OpenSky Awesome so far!

I got my open sky card about a month ago! I deposited 200 dollars for my credit line, after using it immediately when I received it, I spend 50 percent which was 100 dollars. The following week I paid my balance of even though it wasn't due at the time. A week later my credit score went up exactly 48 points in less than a month once the credit bureau added it on. I am now waiting on the other two credit bureaus to start reporting as well. I'm beyond satisfied. The key is to pay early from what I'm noticing.

OpenSky So far so good

I have been with this company for over a year, and every time I have had an issue with late fees or fraud activity, this company has always shined through the storm. This is the type of company I can recommend to hard workers that would like to have their hard earned money taken care of with trust, honesty, and diligence. Thank you to everyone at this company! And I am just a regular middle class girl, no one paid me to write this, I have just had a string of bad events with professional companies and this company I felt deserved this review. Hope this helps the next average person!

OpenSky If you can follow instructions like an adult, apply for this card now

First off let me say this card should not get any negative reviews. If you used this card accordingly and are patient, there should never be any issues with it and you will see results. Customer service could do better with hold/wait time when calling but all that tells you is call when you have time to spare. Again, Im truly shocked at how many negative reviews have been posted against Opensky. Using this card has helped open doors that were once closed to me. Ive had this card for 3 months and saw my credit score rise like never before 150 pts/ 3mo. Thats saying a lot coming from a person who has had a credit score of 441 for the past two years. All I did was buy small purchases like a pack of cigarettes, $10 in gas and energy drinks all at separate times of course. Keep your card utilization under 35% for best results, lower the better. If anyone is still on the fence about applying for this card i hope after reading this will make up your mind. I speak from experience Opensky is a legitimate game changer.

OpenSky Great for Bankrupcy Recovery!

This is pretty much the BEST flexible secured card you'll find. Its a Visa, the minimum down-payment is only $200, and they have NO credit check. There is no other Card with that as a prerequisite. I got my card within a matter of weeks and increasing a limit was a simple matter of calling in and mailing a check. The card has given me zero issues and I use it everywhere.

My only complaints would be that the call menu needs more options, the app could use some work, and this card really needs to be on Apple Pay. Otherwise, this card is a GREAT option and anyone looking to build up from bad credit or for a card that will 100% accept someone without credit.

Most of these negative reviews are clearly people who are mixing user error vs legitimate complaints. Skipping reading the TOC or missing the $35 fee that's plastered on the application isn't something to blame the company for. They are small scale and likely the last shot at a CC for many people... keep your expectations realistic and you won't be disappointed in any regard.

OpenSky Great service

Nice article! If you're in need of fast (within 3 days), reliable & effective credit repair solutions. I will urge you to contact;
Computerworm. Hacker [AT] Hotmail. C o m
I have confirmed their job and I can boldly say this that they are the only credit repairer that have direct relationships with all the 3 federal credit bureaus, what they do is look out for the negative items dragging your score down, clear credit card debts, remove inquiries, tax liens, eviction and late payments. They also provide additional lifetime coaching services to ensure that your credit report and score remain up in the high 790s and accurate forever. And the sooner you get started, the sooner you'll see the results that will have you on your way to reaching your financial goals (purchasing a house or car, a good job or business loans). Also, my husband just got qualified for a business loan of $245,000 through these people and I can place a bet on them because I am sure they will always come through no matter how bad the credit is. My husband had the worst credit but they came through for us in just few days. So, what are you waiting for?

OpenSky Very helpful card when you need a good secured card

I have no idea why people are writing negative reviews about this card. I had this card back in 2002 when I was getting my credit re-established. Worked great, easy to reach customer service, quick to apply payments, never any problem. Then I got much better cards and limits from [protected], so I closed this card in 2015. Serious medical issues required me starting all over again in 2018, so guess who was there to help? My old friend Open Sky through Capital Bank. Easy to open a new one, payments credited quickly, can always reach customer service. I deposited $1,400 and try to keep it paid down. There is an annual fee of $35, but that is standard for many secured cards. Also, Open Sky gives you this card with NO credit check. The people who are writing negative reviews could not get the card because the banks needs to be able to verify your address and who you are so they know you're not a scammer.
That is good practice from a bank. So make sure to keep your PHYSICAL home address updated on your driver's license and with the credit bureaus, and you will have no problems. I've twice been a customer with Open Sky since 2002, so I know very well that this is a good card from years of dealing with them. Keep your physical home address current on your driver's license and address current with the credit bureaus (make sure these two addresses match), pay on time, don't run up your card to the limit, and you will have a VERY good experience with Open Sky. Open Sky will accept you for a second chance when others will not.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: A Good Option for Credit Repair and Emergency Funds

I wasn't really keen on getting a credit card at first because I didn't want to deal with credit card bills. But then I thought, why not give it a try? I decided to apply for the OpenSky Credit Card with a $250 deposit to help me repair my credit record. You see, I had some issues with Navient / Sallie Mae and their student loans. It's a long story that I won't bore you with.

I've only had the card for about three months, but I must say that the card itself works perfectly fine. However, I noticed that payments take a few days to process into available credit. I mean, in this day and age, why does it take so long? But hey, it's not really a big deal. I'm not sure why some reviewers are giving such bad reviews. My experience with OpenSky Credit Card has been nothing but positive so far. I usually pay my bill as soon as the statement comes out. My statements close on the 9th, and the bill is due by the 6th of the following month. If I pay on the 9th, 10th, or 11th, it gives the payment three weeks and a bit more to process.

I use the card a little bit each month just to make sure I have some kind of payment to make and something to report to the credit bureaus. But aside from that, it's kind of nice to know that I have $250 in emergency funds if something comes up. I know it's not much, but it could help me get to the dentist or something like that.

Now, if you're someone who's always desperate for available credit right after submitting a payment, then this card might not be for you. But if you have some extra cash and can afford to wait a few days for your payment to process, then I don't see any problems with this card.

Overall, I think OpenSky Credit Card has done exactly what they've advertised. It's a good option for those who want to repair their credit record or for those who want to have a little bit of emergency funds.

OpenSky How I Got My OpenSky Credit Card Deposit Back: A Review of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Federal Trade Commission

Last year, I decided to cancel my OpenSky Credit Card in October 2017. I was hopeful that I would receive my deposit back since I didn't have any balance left on the card. However, I had paid more than I should have, thinking that my credit score would improve. Unfortunately, my credit score didn't increase, and I felt like I had wasted a lot of money.

As the days went by, I still hadn't received my deposit back, and it was already November 2017. OpenSky had a policy that stated that they would send out the deposit within two weeks of approval. However, it had already been more than two weeks, and I was getting anxious. I wanted my deposit back before Thanksgiving, and I was determined to get it.

I decided to call OpenSky's customer service, and I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly they were. However, I didn't get any action from them, and I still hadn't received my deposit. I was frustrated and didn't know what to do.

That's when I stumbled upon a website called Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (www.consumerfinancial.gov) and the Federal Trade Commission. These two sites were a godsend for me. They were there to help consumers like me who were mistreated by credit card companies or any other companies.

I decided to file a complaint about my situation with OpenSkycc.com on these sites. I was amazed at how quickly they responded. They took my complaint seriously and got in touch with OpenSky. Within a few days, I received my deposit back, just in time for Thanksgiving.

I would highly recommend these sites to anyone who is having issues with any credit card company. They are there to protect us consumers from companies that try to violate our rights. They mean business and will stand up for us.

After I received my deposit, I was surprised to receive a letter from OpenSky telling the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission to leave them alone. I couldn't believe it. They were the ones who were in the wrong, and yet they were trying to intimidate these sites.

In conclusion, I would say that OpenSky Credit Card is not a bad credit card company. However, they need to improve their policies and procedures when it comes to returning deposits. If you are having issues with them, don't hesitate to file a complaint on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission websites. They are there to help you.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Secured Card Ruined My Credit Score in 2 Days!

So, I decided to open a secured account with OpenSky Credit Card to build up my credit score. My score was at a decent 710, but I wanted to improve it even more. I sent them $200 for a secured card and received a $35 bill for activation before I even received the card. I didn't mind that, so I paid it off as soon as I got the card. I used it for a small purchase of $28 and paid it off immediately with my debit card.

However, the next month, I received my first report and was shocked to see that they took 32 points off my credit score for opening the account. I checked Credit Karma to see why this happened and it said that it was because of the new account. I called OpenSky Credit Card to ask why this happened and was told that it shouldn't affect my credit score negatively. They advised me to call Equifax and get a complete copy of my credit report mailed to them at a PO Box. Who uses a PO Box these days?

Anyhow, I followed their advice and did what they asked me to do. I hoped that they would clean up their mistake within 30 days or so. However, the next day, OpenSky Credit Card took another 26 points off my credit score! I couldn't believe it. I got an alert from Credit Karma and checked it, hoping that the first mistake was cleared, but no, it was informing me that the other 26 points were taken. The lady at OpenSky Credit Card said she had never seen this happen before.

So, here I am on day 3, trying to deal with this mess. It took me from having decent credit to almost poor credit in just 2 days. I think I made a horrible decision by opening this account at this point. I wish I never did, to be honest. Now, they have basically ruined my credit in just 2 days with a secured card, and I utilized under 20 percent. I'm not sure where to go from here, but it's been a headache and a major setback.

Damn, man. SMH. I'm hoping to get this cleared up, but now I feel trapped to this company because it will affect me even more negatively if I cancel the card. I almost feel like a hostage at this point. All for sending them my cash. I wish I could just tell them to keep the $200, put my points back, and we are even. They made $200 in less than a month. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way.

I know that things happen, and if they clear it up, I will 100 percent come back and put a positive review for them. I'm not here to bash the company, but from the way it went down, I'm sure you can understand my frustrations.

TG in Mass.

OpenSky Review: OpenSky Credit Card - A Great Tool for Rebuilding Credit

Secured credit cards are a real lifesaver for many of us who need to rebuild or build credit for the first time. I mean, let's face it, life can be tough and sometimes we make mistakes that can affect our credit score. But with the OpenSky Credit Card, you can take control of your credit and start building a better financial future.

Applying for the OpenSky Credit Card was a breeze. I didn't have any issues throughout the entire process and setting up everything was quite simple. The best part is that I've never experienced any late fees or problems with my account credit incorrectly. This is because I set up automatic minimum payments for this account. It's the best thing anyone with credit issues can do to prevent making any kind of mistake that damages their credit score.

Now, I know that my credit limit for this card is quite low, but that's okay. I don't use it very often as it's very easy to create a larger percentage balance of your credit limit than you intend to. However, I always make sure to pay my bills on time and keep my credit utilization low. This is important because it shows lenders that I am responsible with my credit and can be trusted with larger credit limits in the future.

I understand that some people may have had negative experiences with the OpenSky Credit Card, but I think it's important to understand how secured cards work. Secured credit cards are under no obligation to return your deposit even when you've shown good and appropriate use of the card. There's absolutely nothing in the application or FAQ area indicating that they would return this deposit either. Some larger credit card companies, like Discover, are well-known for returning the security deposit after you have proven to be a reliable customer. However, that is usually not the case with smaller companies that cater specifically to people with credit issues.

At the end of the day, it's important to remember that you are responsible for signing up for any financial instrument. For many, just having access to a credit card to begin rebuilding credit is worth whatever amount you put up up front. If $200 is something you cannot afford to leave floating on your financial records, you're probably not in a condition to begin rebuilding credit in the first place.

Overall, I highly recommend the OpenSky Credit Card to anyone who is looking to rebuild or build their credit. It's a great tool to have in your financial arsenal and can help you achieve your financial goals. Just remember to always make your payments on time and keep your credit utilization low. With a little bit of effort and discipline, you can take control of your credit and build a better financial future for yourself.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card: Unreasonable Fees and Poor Customer Service

So, I gotta say, I was pretty excited when I got my OpenSky Credit Card. I mean, a company that's all about helping people save and build credit? Sign me up! But let me tell you, they're real quick to take your money too. I got my first statement in the mail today, which was weird because I always pay off my balance before the due date and I've never been late on a payment. But when I opened the statement, I saw there was a balance of $3 for a "FEE". What the heck? So I kept reading and found out it was a "Service Charge Paper Statement Fee". Are you kidding me? And if I didn't pay it by the date listed above, they were gonna charge me $38! I already paid the fee without even questioning it, thinking it was just the balance I owed on what I spent. But nope, it was just some stupid fee they decided to tack on.

Lesson learned, folks. You gotta read your statements every month because these banks are out here trying to rip people off and nickel and dime them, especially during this recession. I called OpenSky to request a refund, but they refused. So I asked them to mail me a copy of the card agreement (which I'm sure is more than the 2 papers I received for this statement) and they told me I wouldn't be charged a $3 fee for it. How convenient, right?

I asked the customer service rep again if they could give me my money back and they still said no. So I closed my account and I'm gonna open a new credit card with a company that actually cares about their customers. I mean, OpenSky claims to be all about helping people build credit, but they're just scamming people out of their hard-earned money with these outrageous fees and then refusing to refund them. Goodbye, OpenSky. Hello, Bank of America Secured that upgraded to unsecured credit card!

For those of you who want to question me, I enclosed my documents for proof. I ain't playing with OpenSky and letting the CEO sit in his castle while I work my butt off going to school and work just to pay for a yacht for him. Let's hope they mail me my full refundable $300 security deposit and don't add on some fees to it. If they do, I'm really gonna go off and possibly hire a damn lawyer to get my little change back. I'm telling you, OpenSky ain't gonna play with me. #opensky #unreasonablefees #gimmemymoneyback #helloBOA #goodbyeOpenSky

OpenSky Open Sky Credit Card Review: Terrible Customer Service and Slow Payment Processing

It takes them like forever (like a week or more) to process your payment, so I tried to speed things up by calling them and asking them to conference call with my bank to confirm my bank already sent them the payment. But Open Sky refused to do this, even though it is standard in the credit card industry to do this. I had to FAX (yes, like back in the 1970s) proof that my bank sent them money. The proof had to be something from the bank that said the payment was completely sent (pending bank transactions where you no longer have access to that money don't count), it had to have your address and name on it and account number and the non-pending transaction along with the before and after balance. They are very picky.

They also had problems with their phone system so after I was on hold (with music) for 10 minutes, and they came back on the line, they couldn't hear me (I could hear them) and so they hung up within 5 seconds of first trying to hear me. It was so frustrating!

On my fifth call trying to meet all their picky/arbitrary demands, they said I would have to be on hold for 10+ minutes again just to get a supervisor who would presumably put me on hold another 10 minutes (their fax requirement means it takes them quite a while to see my faxes, probably because they have to load paper on their daisy wheel epson printer to print out a fax). They gave me the option of calling me back instead of me waiting 10 minutes to get the supervisor, and I said fine. Then they said I would get a call back within 48 hours! Can you believe it?

So I waited on hold. The supervisor came on and said the latest additional info they wanted couldn't be read. Almost surely because they are relying on ancient fax technology since it reads just fine in the image file that I faxed them (using eFax because who has an ancient fax machine at home anymore?) It's like they're living in the past!

So I just faxed again, enlarging the print. And will be on the phone again (6th phone call and counting)... I can't believe I have to go through all this trouble just to pay my bill!

OK, I guess with this company the motto is "6th time's the charm". Finally got the hold removed on my payment to them. It was such a relief!

Now I have my balance available so I can rent a car to get to work since my car died. They didn't care about any of that when I told them, and they still insist on their 1970's level of customer service. It's like they don't care about their customers at all!

In conclusion, I would not recommend this credit card to anyone. Get this card only if it is your last resort. The customer service is terrible and it takes forever to process your payments. Save yourself the trouble and go with a different credit card company.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Shady Policies and Fine Print, Not Worth It

So, I was in the market for a credit card to help rebuild my credit, and I stumbled upon OpenSky Credit Card. I did some research, but I only looked at the positive reviews on YouTube. I thought it was the best unsecured card out there, but boy was I wrong. If I had done my due diligence and listened to both sides, I would have never gotten this card. I paid my $200 security deposit, but it took two months to get my card because of a chip shortage. I lost my wallet twice in one month and had two Wells Fargo debit cards sent to me, each taking less than a week. Strike one.

Strike two was when they sent me a bill when I hadn't even received my card yet. I was angry and called them about the audacity of sending me anything besides my card with a big apology letter to go along with it. I told them to waive my annual fee, which they did. After the first month, I maxed out the card and paid my bill three days before the due date. It posted on my bank and there was no issue.

However, an emergency situation came up, and I asked if I could get my credit issued early. They told me there was a one-time exception to get it early, but I had to provide proof that it posted on my account. I faxed the transaction on my app, which showed it posted four days ago and had the name of the bank, my name, and the exact amount paid. I thought that was enough, but then they told me they couldn't honor it because my home address wasn't on the transaction statement. They said it had to be in the form of a bank statement, which doesn't process for a couple of days. They couldn't give me a simple document of a statement with the info they needed. I think they're in this scamming type behavior together in the long run. The sick banking fraternity in which they derive from.

I even had a banker call for me with me present, and they still said no. Now my morality is compromised, and I can't do business with such shady people with these shady policies and fine print I didn't bother to read. Even if it slows me down a little, I canceled my card, even though it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get my money back. It's another slimeball move trying to milk your money for as long as they can. When you deal with crooks who have immunity over everything, even when it's the wrong thing, they can get away with this legal extortion. We have to pay immediately, but they don't have to pay us back till two months later. It's worse than any strong-arm artist out there.

I recommend Credai. It's a way better way to actually build credit and way more consumer-friendly than these a-holes. I know people need to make a living, but I'd rather sell drugs than work for a place like that. They're the opposite of what I stand for. What if it were an emergency, getting electricity shut off or a car repo or something worse, and they just still tell you no? We don't give a flying fack. Our rules are our rules, and you're shat outta luck, you fack. That's the vibe I got, and I refuse to do business with scumbags like that.

OpenSky OpenSky Secured Credit Card: A Lifesaver for Rebuilding Credit and Achieving Dreams

I can't believe all the negative reviews, so I had to jump on and put my piece in as someone who has only benefited from getting this card. This card is not meant for big spending, a ton of usage, partial payments, blah blah blah. This is meant for people who are trying to build or rebuild a credit history and/or repair past mistakes. I literally cannot believe these reviews. This card gave me a future! I will buy a house one day, which is my dream for my kids, because of this card!

Let me just tell you, yeah, it sucks paying a fee, yeah, it sucks they hold your deposit, yeah, it sucks it takes forever for payment to post, but it's all explained from day one! So, people whining about their deposit, get over it, you will get it back, and the annual fee, well, come on, they are helping you, payment posting issues? Make a plan and execute! What don't you get?! This card has done so much for me!

Anyway, I started out, I couldn't even get a secured card through Capital One, but this card, OpenSky, was the only company that would help me. I'll try to briefly explain. They report every month, even if you don't use the card, total big plus! This card is only meant to rebuild credit, not to go out on shopping sprees so you can then complain the payments take too long to post. And the finance charges are too high! Start from the beginning of your month (cycle) and make it work, pay in full every single time! Or don't bother! That's what I did. Yeah, it does kinda suck, but use your head, no one else is offering you credit, otherwise, you wouldn't be here!

My credit score is beyond my expectations only a year and a half after opening this card. I started out with a 517. My real true Fico score is now 786! All started with this card, I did a ton of research and disputed negatives and kept this card open. I used it once a month for like gum or something and paid in full every time. Although I found out many months later they still report to all bureaus every month, even if you don't use it, so I basically don't use it anymore.

Anyway, fast forward a few months, I got an offer for Cap One Platinum, no big deal to some, but for me, a tremendous deal as my last CO card went to collections a few years back. And my now 1st unsecured card, got a couple more cards via shopping cart trick to avoid the hard hits, but just a couple. Now about a year later, Amex offered me a card! Starting 4k limit. 3 months later, they tripled me to 12k! I got a car loan @ 2.9%. I can go on and on. All I know is I can buy a home now once I have the deposit, and I will get a heck of an interest rate. Isn't that what most of us are after?

Stop whining, people, this card is the bomb! Do yourself a favor, don't listen to the negatives, look at it how I look at it. It paved the way for a brighter future! You just have to do some work in the beginning, people are just plain lazy! If what you're after is what I'm after, get the card! You just can't be disappointed. I don't know, I guess these negative reviewers just want things to happen for them, do the work, and you will praise OpenSky. I leave my reviews everywhere I see the option for OpenSky, they need to be recognized for being the only company that really helps people like me!

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Predatory Lending Tactics and Poor Communication

On December 20, 2020, I decided to apply for the OpenSky Credit Card from openskycc.com. I submitted an electronic deposit of $1000 to Capital Bank, but after 10 days, I still had not received any confirmation that my account had been activated. It took almost 3 weeks for OpenSky to acknowledge my deposit and issue my account. Finally, after 38 days, I received my card in the mail. This was the first red flag.

When I downloaded the app, I noticed that the only way to contact the company was through their 800 number or via mail. I decided to use this card to increase my credit activity, even though my scores were already pretty high. I had zero usage until July 2021, when I spent $5.38 at a Costco food court. I immediately paid the bill the moment it posted, before the bill closing date. However, the next month, I noticed a $3.50 charge. If I had not randomly opened the app, I would never have known that a payment was due and could have possibly been late. I found out that it was a "paper billing fee" that suddenly appeared seven months into having this credit card on auto payment and E bill. I found this to be shady and contacted Customer Service. They agreed to remove the charge because I set up the account to be electronic only.

On the one-year anniversary of having this card, I did not want to pay the $35 annual fee after reading about one of my stocks that Capital Bank now has a gold no security deposit option that customers are upgraded to. My FICO score at the time was 729, and of course, I qualified for that product since I had been approved within the last two years with Citibank, American Express, and Wells Fargo with limits averaging $10,000. I wrote a certified letter on November 20 that was marked as received on December 9 by Capital Bank, a.k.a. OpenSky Visa. In the letter, I requested that the $35 annual fee be waived because I knew they were offering a no annual fee option. In the letter, I stated that in the event that the $35 annual fee cannot be waived, consider this notice that I wish my account to be closed before charging the next annual fee, leaving it open for one year exactly. The annual fee was not due to be billed until January 17.

Capital Bank copied the letter I sent and mailed it back to me on January 3. Their letter stated that they "do not understand what I am asking" and told me that I would have to write a second letter if I wanted to close the account and receive a refund of my $1000 security deposit. At this point, I had done my due diligence and had proof via CMRRR and their response to the letter weeks prior to the annual fee being billed. This bank has ignored complaints from the OCC, and I recently filed a complaint with the BBB regarding this predatory lending tactic. My credit report shows that I owe $35 on a card that I requested to be closed in November 2021. As of February 16, 2022, they have added an additional $35 late charge, still ignoring the complaints with government banking agencies where I include documentation requesting the account closed.

This card is not good for people with knowledge of credit and the income and resources to manage it. They do not offer a chat option, an online messaging option, or an email to contact their company. It is difficult to locate any information on Capital Bank, N.A., but due to receiving an email about a stock, I found out about the bank's president, their headquarters, and their financials. They make direct communication difficult on purpose, which is the antithesis of the open methods of communication found with companies like American Express. Overall, I would not recommend the OpenSky Credit Card from openskycc.com.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Unethical and Shady Practices, Frustrating Experience with False Fraud Alerts and Poor Customer Support

As a current customer of OpenSky Credit Card, I have had a frustrating experience with this company. I have only had the card for three weeks and have already had to call numerous times to see why my card is being declined when trying to make a purchase, whether it be in person or online. The first purchase I made went through with no problem, but the next day I attempted to make another small purchase inside of a gas station and it was declined. I was on the phone for just under 30 minutes before I was transferred and told that a fraud alert was placed on my card. This was odd because my card was new, but the representative manually overrode the purchase so it would go through. She told me to give it until midnight to allow the system to refresh. She also mentioned that because I'm in Las Vegas, it raised a flag because I made a purchase outside of the city. I explained to her that I online shop like most people do and that I've done nothing out of the norm whatsoever. She mentioned the purchase was in Arizona for Godaddy. I didn't know shopping online with a reputable company raised a fraud alert. I was reassured it wouldn't happen again.

However, yesterday I attempted to purchase myself some dinner and again my card was declined. I was told the card was not valid. I proceeded to call customer service of the food delivery service I was trying to order from and they told me to log out of the app and onto their actual website. I did this only to get declined again and a message popped up saying the purchase was declined by the issuing bank. I called OpenSky yet again to find out what was going on and was told everything was fine and it's not on their end. I called the food delivery service again and was told usually a fraud alert being placed on the card or lack of funds may cause the decline and message to pop up. I proceeded to try to order from another reputable food delivery service thinking maybe it wasn't my card, but it was declined again. Sure enough, I called OpenSky back and they transferred me to the fraud department and I was told that there was yet another fraud alert on my card. She stated that because I had a few charges from outside of my city, it raised a flag. I explained to her that I online shop like most people do, but she wasn't listening to me and kept saying that my purchase activity was raising a flag. What activity? She brought up the first fraud flag that was placed on my account for absolutely no reason at all as if she was trying to guilt trip me or something. I told her that I shouldn't have to call in each time I want to make a purchase and that they are unfairly targeting me with fraud alerts on my account. She proceeded to tell me that that's what having a secured card is all about and that secured cards are more strict. She told me that I could call and ask for paperwork stating that I did not want these strict precautions. I don't feel it's right to place false fraud flags on someone's account when normal activity is taking place, nor do I think I should have to call and beg to be able to spend my own hard-earned money. I feel their practices are very unethical and shady.

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, unless they like going out of their way to spend their own money. Before ending the call, the representative explained that I should pay before spending. I had just sent in $35 days prior, which I told her, but she said that could be what was causing issues. Mind you, I had $117 or so on the card and was attempting to spend $40 or so. At this point, it just seemed like she was making up stuff as she went along. Never in my life have I dealt with anything like this with ANY credit card, secured or non-secure. Absolutely ridiculous. Customer support is horrible as well, with straight attitude and acting like they are going out of their way to even address you. Unless you like getting declined in a store full of people and having to call and beg for an override, I'd advise you to stay far away. I am protecting myself by seeking legal help as I refuse to allow them to take any more shady and unethical actions against me.

OpenSky Shady fraud claims against innocent customer -

I'm writing this as a current customer, who is in the process of paying off and closing the card. OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Frustrating Fees and Poor Customer Service

I decided to give OpenSky Credit Card a try and opened a secured credit card account with a $200 deposit in April. I was excited to start building my credit score and using the card for small purchases. However, things quickly went downhill from there.

In May, my husband was tragically shot and killed, leaving me in a state of devastation. With bills, rent, and all necessities weighing me down, I received a bill from OpenSky in June for $256. When I tried to call customer service, it was difficult to get someone on the phone. I called three times and the first time, the call was disconnected. The second time, I was put on hold for 36 minutes. Finally, on the third call, I spoke to a young man who explained to me that I was charged for the annual fee and interest. I explained my situation and wanted to close the account, but he put me on hold and then I got disconnected. I felt exhausted and just cried.

In July, I received my bill and it was for $291. Finally, in August, I received my bill and it was for $356. I spent two hours trying to get a hold of customer service to no avail. In September, my bill was up to $391 and I called them four times. The same thing happened and I finally talked to a man who worked for a bill/credit collector. I explained my situation and he said sorry, but he was just there to collect what I owed. He said the $200 deposit was applied to the interest fees and I still owed $156. During the closing of my account, that is what it came down to.

I would not recommend OpenSky Credit Card to anyone. They have a lot of fees that they won't explain, charge you an annual fee, and have no communication, explanation, or justification. It was a frustrating and stressful experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: A Nightmare Experience with Billing, Customer Service, and Deposit Confusion

I gotta say, I've had a bit of a rough time with OpenSky Credit Card. I've been waiting for my card to arrive for what feels like forever, and every time I call to check on it, they give me some excuse about production problems or issues with the vendor. They keep telling me not to worry, that I won't be billed until I actually receive my card. But then, lo and behold, I get a bill in the mail today, and it's already showing up on my credit report! I called them up to complain, and the lady on the phone straight up lied to me, saying I didn't owe any money until March. I was like, "Uh, lady, I'm literally holding the bill in my hand right now." I was so worried about my credit score being ruined that I demanded they close my account immediately.

But then things got even weirder. The lady started telling me all these scary things about how closing my account would negatively affect my credit score, and then she tried to bribe me by offering to pay off my first monthly bill. And get this - I paid $200 for this card, but they only gave me $175 in credit on the account! When I asked about it, she said it would take 8 weeks to get my payment, and any outstanding bill would be taken out of the deposit. But then she turned around and said I didn't owe anything at all, and that I'd get my entire $200 back. I mean, how does that even make sense? If I owe them money, how am I supposed to get my deposit back?

I hung up the phone feeling totally confused and frustrated, so I decided to call back and see if they even recognized my number as an open account. And sure enough, they did! I'm planning on calling them again tomorrow to make sure my account is closed for good, and I'm definitely paying them their $25 fee - assuming they'll accept a money order, that is. I'm starting to feel like this whole thing is a scam, and I don't want to risk losing any more money to these thieves. So yeah, long story short, I would definitely not recommend OpenSky Credit Card to anyone.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Poor Customer Service and Confusing Policies Not Worth Your Time or Money

This OpenSky Credit Card is not worth your time or money. I applied for the card and had to pay a deposit and annual fee upfront. I waited for a response and by the time they approved me, I changed my mind. I told them I didn't want the card and they tried to tell me I couldn't get my annual fee back. I had to explain to them that I didn't owe them any money because I hadn't accepted the cardholder agreement yet. It's important to note that different companies have different rules for what constitutes acceptance, so this may not apply to other cards.

After three months, I disputed the card because they reported it as opened even though I never accepted it. The first two times I disputed it with TransUnion, they told them that I opened the card. This time, I disputed it with Experian and I hope they pay more attention to the fact that I never met the requirements necessary to accept the card. I called OpenSky before, but this time I won't bother. I'll just wait and see if it negatively impacts me financially. If it does, I'll sue them in small claims court.

Overall, I do not recommend the OpenSky Credit Card. They have poor customer service and their policies are confusing. It's not worth the hassle and potential financial impact.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Long Wait for Deposit Refund & Unfair Holding of Funds

So, I got this OpenSky Credit Card without reading any reviews and now I'm regretting it. I closed my account in June 2017 and I still haven't received my deposit of $200 back. It's been over two months and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever see that money again.

What really grinds my gears is that they hold our available funds for over a week after we make a payment. It's like they want to earn interest on our money before they give it back to us. And when we close our accounts, they hold onto our deposits for even longer to earn even more interest. It's not fair to us customers who just want our money back.

When I called customer service and the billing department, they told me it would take 10 weeks for processing and then another 7-10 business days to receive the check in the mail. That's three months before I see my refund! It's ridiculous.

I also found out that they use a bank to draft our checking accounts, but they won't pay for the credit in reverse. Apparently, it's too expensive for them to do that. They're not in the business of losing interest or giving us our money back quickly.

I used to work at a bank for many years, and I know that drafting is credit driven. I think the bank they use should revoke their credit draft process and report negative credit reporting process. It's not fair to us customers who just want our money back.

Overall, I would not recommend this credit card to anyone. It's not worth the hassle of waiting months for your deposit to be returned.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Cancelled Card, Poor Customer Service, and Possible Scam

So, I gotta tell ya, I was pretty excited to get my OpenSky Credit Card. I mean, I know it's a secured card, but hey, we all gotta start somewhere, right? Well, let me tell you, things did not go as planned.

First off, my card got canceled out of nowhere. No explanation, no nothing. So, I called them up to find out what was going on. After waiting on hold for over 30 minutes, I finally got through to someone. But, let me tell you, their English was not so good. I mean, I'm no grammar expert myself, but I could barely understand what they were saying.

Anyway, they told me that I had sent a letter requesting a refund of my deposit. But, I never did any such thing! I told them that, but they just kept insisting that I had. So, I asked them to send me a copy of the letter for my records. They said they would, but it took them a whole week to do it.

When I finally got the letter, I called them back to clear things up. But, once again, I had to wait on hold for over 30 minutes. And, when I finally got through to someone, they didn't understand a word I was saying! I asked to speak to someone who could understand me, and they said they'd have someone call me back in an hour. But, surprise surprise, that never happened.

The next day, I got a check in the mail for my deposit. But, there was no copy of the letter that they claimed I had sent. So, I called them up again, and after being transferred around for over 2 hours, I finally got someone who apologized for the whole ordeal. But, they didn't actually do anything to fix it.

Then, the next day, I got another letter from them saying that there was no letter requesting a refund of my deposit, and that they had made a mistake. I mean, seriously? How many times do they have to mess up before they get it right?

To make matters worse, I got a statement in the mail saying that I had a balance of $200 on my card. But, I hadn't even used the card yet! When I called them up to ask about it, they claimed that I had cashed the check they sent me, and that I had to pay the balance to keep my account. But, I still had the check, and I told them that. Suddenly, everything changed, and they restored my account.

Honestly, I feel like they were trying to scam me. If it weren't for the fact that canceling the card would hurt my credit score, I would have done it already. So, beware of this company, folks. They're not to be trusted.

OpenSky OpenSky Credit Card Review: Good for Boosting Credit, Terrible for Closing Account

I gotta say, at first, OpenSky Credit Card (openskycc.com) seemed like a pretty good deal. They promised to help me boost my credit score, and as long as I paid my account off, they delivered on that promise. But when it came time to close my account, that's when things started to go south.

I cancelled my account on September 2nd, 2017, and I wanted to use my deposit to pay it off. But they told me they couldn't do that, and it would take up to 10 weeks to refund my initial deposit. Well, 12 weeks went by, and I still hadn't seen a dime. So I called them up to see what was going on.

They said they would investigate and it would take 7 days. But when I called back 10 days later, I spoke to someone else who said it wouldn't take 7 days, it would take 10-15. I asked to speak to a manager, and she told me it would probably be done in 15 days. So I called back a week later (17 days after my initial call), and they still had no answer for me. They couldn't even guarantee when my deposit would be available.

So I asked for a manager again, and I asked him why he was the 5th person I talked to who gave me a different answer. He said the others must not have known what they were talking about. Now, almost 14 weeks after my account was closed, I still hadn't gotten my money back. It was like pulling teeth just to get a straight answer out of them.

In the end, I had to contact my state's attorney general to get my money back. Otherwise, there was no guarantee that I would ever see that money again. It took a whopping 18 weeks after I initially closed my account to finally get my money back. That's just plain bad business, if you ask me. I honestly think they would have kept my money if I hadn't gone the extra mile.

So, if you're thinking about getting an OpenSky Credit Card, I would highly suggest you go somewhere else. The end of the relationship just wasn't worth the beginning.

OpenSky Unethical Practices and Poor Customer Service: My Experience with OpenSky Credit Card

I decided to get the OpenSky Credit Card to help rebuild my credit. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. I had a zero balance on the card when I moved to a new home and had my mail forwarded. However, I was surprised to receive my Opensky bill a month later and was charged an annual fee without any notification via email or text. I paid it in full, but the payment was late.

The next month, I received another bill showing that I still owed the annual fee plus the late charge. I only paid the late charge, thinking that the annual fee hadn't posted when the bill went out. However, the following month, the payment due was a whopping $146! I was shocked and confused.

I decided to call customer service, but I had to wait for 20 minutes before I could speak to someone. Once I got through, I explained everything to the representative, but she proceeded to argue with me for 25 minutes. I repeatedly asked her to explain the charges, but she spoke in circles, claiming that they were late fees. I told her that there had been a mistake and that I had already paid the annual fee. I asked her to waive the fees, but she argued with me about it.

Finally, I told her that if she agreed to settle on half of the amount and bring my balance to zero, I would pay it over the phone right then and there. She agreed, took my payment information, and after my payment cleared, she told me that I still owed a balance of $73. I was livid! I had some choice words for her since she deceived me. I told her that I wouldn't pay the rest and hung up.

Since this is a prepaid card and late fees would continue to accrue, I decided to pay the full amount so that I wouldn't have to deal with this unethical company or their poor customer service again. I strongly advise anyone considering the OpenSky Credit Card to read the reviews and avoid making the same mistake I did. This company is not worth doing business with!

OpenSky Terrible Experience with OpenSky Credit Card: Beware of Wire Fraud and Identity Verification Issues

I must say, I had a terrible experience with OpenSky Credit Card. I was surprised to see it featured on Credit Karma, so I thought it would be a good option for me. I applied online and was asked to provide a credit card for the security deposit. I obliged, but to my surprise, they charged me without any formal agreement or approval of my application.

They then informed me that they needed to verify my identity, which was a problem for me as I had recently moved and my information was not updated. I knew it would take months to verify my address, but they had already charged me $400. I was stuck, and they had essentially stolen my money.

The only way to communicate with them was through their website, which was not helpful at all. I found their phone number online and called them, but I'm not sure if I will ever get my money back. It's truly shocking that this card is listed on Credit Karma and other platforms.

I later found out that OpenSky Credit Card has a history of these kinds of abuses, which was a red flag for me. Credit Karma did not give me a heads up about this, which was disappointing.

I have learned that charging money without an agreement is wire fraud, which is a penal crime. I suspect they have stolen a lot of money from people, and I will be contacting the Attorney General's of every state, as well as the Justice Dept and the FBI.

In conclusion, I would not recommend OpenSky Credit Card to anyone. It's a shame that they are still in business, and I hope that justice is served. Crime doesn't pay, and I hope they learn their lesson.

OpenSky Unprofessional and Scammy: My Experience with OpenSky Credit Card

Got my OpenSky Credit Card from openskycc.com in a decent amount of time. But when I called customer service, they were rude and treated me like I was a nobody. I was just trying to fix my credit after a financial loss. Anyway, I started using the card for small purchases and paid the balance every month. But this month, my dad got sick with cancer and I had to rush out of state. I could only pay the minimum due of $25 on a balance of $85. Big mistake. The payment didn't post for days, so it was late. They charged me $25 late fees on the balance and another $25 that I didn't authorize from my checking account. When I told my bank, they said it was debited twice! So now my $25 minimum payment became $75 plus interest, and my balance is $148. This is fraud. To make things worse, I got a letter saying I exceeded my credit limit, and my card didn't work when I was traveling. Now I owe half of what I had available. It's terrible that big companies think they can get away with this. I'm going to report them to the consumer reporter in my state and the authorities. I hope the corporate officer who wrote me a nasty letter will review my case and see how unprofessional and scammy they are. Be careful dealing with this company.

OpenSky Rebuilding Your Credit? OpenSky Credit Card Might Be Your Best Bet

I gotta say, I find it pretty funny when people complain about the OpenSky Credit Card. Like, do they not realize that this card is meant for people who are struggling with their credit? If you're getting an OpenSky card, chances are your credit score is so bad that you can't even get approved for other secured cards out there.

I know this firsthand because I lost my job last year and all my accounts got charged off, which caused my credit score to plummet to a measly 499. The OpenSky card was literally the only option I had. So I applied for it and got approved for a $500 credit limit. I used it for small things like my Netflix and Spotify subscriptions and made sure to pay it off in full every month.

Sure, the app looks like it was made in the 90s and it takes forever for the available balance to update (which shouldn't be a problem if you're using the card responsibly - you're not supposed to use more than 30% of your credit limit anyway). But the statement balance updates immediately, which is important because it lowers your credit utilization.

Despite all the not-so-great things about this card, I don't really care. Why? Because after making just two on-time payments in the month since I got my card, my credit score went up by a whopping 120 points (yes, you read that right) to the low 600s. So this card is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.

Now, I'm not saying that this is a card you should keep for the rest of your life. It's a card you use to get back on your feet so you can eventually qualify for unsecured cards with better customer service and perks. Once you're able to do that, cancel the OpenSky card and get your deposit back. And be grateful that someone gave you a chance to rebuild your financial life.

They are honest to goodness rip-off artists. I opened an account in 2021, always good standing, on-time payments, no balance. Then 2023 hits and suddenly my balance owed is over $400 because of some idiot glitch that didn't process during Nov. payment. Calls to their CS were uneventful. Just excuses served as "reasons" for the unacceptable accumulating fee penalties. Total legal factor.

Desired outcome: Fixing my balance - removing the late fee charges, and interestLowered monthly rate to where it was at $40

OpenSky kylie posie k lip trio

I ordered this from Open Sky because the price was better. MISTAKE! When it came, it was in the right box, but only one of the lipsticks were Posie K and the tubes weren't labeled like the legit products. They also appeared to be only partially filled with product. I have sent two emails and tried to contact customer service by phone to no avail. I am afraid to use the product since it appears to be tampered with. I will NEVER use Open Sky again and I intend to contact Kylie Cosmetics and the Better Business Bureau and file complaints. Amazon ought to lean on them as well because they link to your Amazon account! TERRIBLE BUSINESS!

OpenSky unethical behavior, fraudulent customer service

I ordered a bag from OpenSky (Order #: [protected]), acknowledged by them on 8/14. They said "Your estimated ship date is below" but there was no such date. When nothing arrived, I investigated only to find out the bag had been shipped to Houston, TX. I immediately contacted OpenSky via email, to request cancellation and a a refund since I no longer needed the item (it had been ordered for a trip). I sent several emails reiterating the cancelation and request for a refund of $38.59. I have received several replies from an Ashish S., such as this: "AUG 25, 2018 | 08:09PM EDT Ashish S. replied: Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for contacting us. As per your email received, we have contacted the supplier to cancel this order for refund. We will let you know as soon as we hear back from them. Regardless, we will make sure to follow up with you again within 2 business days." Then, today I received the following: "|AUG 26, 2018 | 09:10PM EDT Ashish S. replied: Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for contacting us. Supplier just emailed us with the reshipping tracking # LN344045542KR. Link : https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input?origTrackNum=LN344045542KR However, we see that you would like to cancel this order. Since this order is marked shipped we do not have an option to cancel this order." They clearly over-rode my order to cancel, and shipped anyway days after my request was made. This is unacceptable, and is fraud, in my opinion.
