Neibauer Dental Care Unprofessional - Central Park Fredericksburg, VA

I was sent a bill 5/19/23 saying I had 30 days to pay the difference of what I had already paid and what my insurance paid. Fast forward today 6/13/2023, 25 days since they emailed me a statement, I got a call following up on the bill, from the office manager Sonya telling me if I don't provide payment now, they are sending me to collections that day. I made sure to tell her I was driving and it's not very safe to dig through my wallet while driving and make a payment. She proceeded to tell me then she was sending me to collections now. Someone should remind them of their own written policy that is in the statement they email out that you have 30 days to pay, but today I am being sent to collections after 25 days. I already paid $137.60 based on what they said it would be based on the difference of my insurance now I owe an additional 41.00 and now they are calling me and trying to force me to make a payment while driving when it hasn't been 30 days. I was also told that they have been trying to reach me however I called them last, I called them the day I got the text message asking that I call them regarding my account. When they over charged me in Oct 2022 and I had a credit it took me from 10/2022 till 4/2023 to get my refund they said they would mail me a check within 6 weeks, and actually I didn't even get it I asked that they apply it to this visit. I was so taken back at how a manager spoke, this is a bad example to have for this company. I have cancelled all appointments for myself and my family.

Desired outcome: How to treat their customers and provide the correct amount to the patient at the time of their visit, and not to call threating them.

Neibauer Dental Care Service

Dr. Navneet Josan, DO NOT GO TO HER! She is rude and when I stood up for my child during his visit she did not like it. She chose to not look at his chart, say he got something done that he did not and then asked me about. How dont you know, You the Dentist! This woman threw her hands up like to pause me from talking so she could finally read his chart. Then wanted to throw a paper up to my face and after I stood up and told her she better get that paper out my face she wanna run to the front and talk [censored] to the receptionists. The manager never not once asked what was wrong she just jumped to me being disrespectful and attacking the doctor and receptionists! And asked me to leave! I also confirmed with two receptionists that they did not feel attacked or threatened! They knew they were wrong. Oh but before being asked to leave the Manager allowed me to pay my bill! YOU MUST NOT FEEL THAT ATTACKED! I been going there for years and never had an issue but in places like that guess reputation means nothing when you not the one bringing in the money for services! Find a new place to receive dental services!

Desired outcome: An apology from Dentist and Manager

Neibauer Dental Care Dental malpractice

Date of incident: 13 Aug 2020. Last week my minor son had dental work done at Neibaurer - during the procedure the back of the instrument the dentist was using burned my sons lip. I could go into a long detail of how they didn't tell me it happened and let my son pull down his mask to show me the burn once he was in the car - I could tell you how the dentist admitted to my son and myself that the instrument she used had been worked on because they knew there was a problem but they DID NOT test it before using it on a patient - I could tell you how they apologized but didn't seem to really care or understand the severity. This happened last week - my son's lip has a HUGE scab and we are considering visiting the doctor, and possibly a plastic surgeon since we are worried about scarring. We paid over a thousand dollars during that visit, just to have my son burned and in severe pain. They will never touch him again. I am requesting full reimbursement for all the work that was done on 13 Aug. I want additional monies to cover the cost for doctor's appointments, possible plastic surgery procedure if there is scarring, and for my son's pain. Look at the pictures and think about what you would do if that was your child. I consider what they did to him as medical negligence.

Neibauer Dental Care dental services - 4 crowns and inflated costs

I have been a patient at Neibauer Dental Care for over 9 years. Most recently, I have become extremely disenchanted with the level of service and what I believe to be price gauging.

Firstly, for a recent visit I had, the level of services were awful. The Office Manager threw a clipboard my way and scolded me to update my records. The clipboard landed to the floor, which is exactly where I left it and from that point, refused to complete the paperwork. She operated in complete distaste, rude and obnoxious. I wrote in to complain about this with no resolve.

Upon my first of visits to prepare for crowns that were needed, when the dentist was examining my teeth in preparation for the CROWN, she knocked a former crown off that was in tact when I arrived. And guess what, I was responsible to pay for that even though, the dentist knocked the crown off with her dental tool. Guess the common practice is to be responsible for someone else's error. So whether the former crown was steady or loose, I came into the office with it in tact, and left needing 4 crowns versus the 3 I came in originally for.

Again the receptionist asked me to pay for a service I had not received. I had not received the crowns, nor had I received the temporary crowns but was asked to pay for them in advance of the service. I thought this was the most ridiculous thing to ask a patient to pay for something they haven't received. I felt it to be a very antiquated "slave mentality", "afraid the worker will run off with the goods so why not penalize them first" then see if they can really pay, let's just get the money now. This disturbed me the most of everything.

Then we get to the temporary crowns, they were not appropriately installed, thus leading me to swallow one and having to visit the emergency room to clear my system. I then had to pay out of pocket to visit another dentist to place another temporary crown since I swallowed the one installed in my mouth, incurring additional expenses.

Finally, the costs. I received several different quotes, or should I say SEVERAL incorrect quotes regarding the services. In writing I was provided an invoice outlining my costs. The invoice stated that after insurance payments my out of pocket expenses would be $1485, which I was in fact prepared to pay in full with the final installation. Well, as expectation would have it, the lady providing the quote said she made a mistake some two weeks later, hand marked the $1485 out, and then my costs more than tripled. I have a balance of $4200 which continues to increase. I am extremely puzzled as I am being charged fees that are not reasonable and customary.

To right the wrong, especially with the breaking of a former crown, my expectation would have been that Neibauer honor its' commitment of the invoice I first received, replaced the crown knocked out by the dentist at no charge to me, pay the costs for me having to go to another dentist for a temporary crown or visiting the emergency room. Any level of customer support would have been appreciated. And to this date, the bite of the crowns are still off and pains to chew.

Can I have my 10 years worth of dental records PLEASE, I plan to immediately take my services elsewhere. Please and thank you! M. Atkinson

Neibauer Dental Care pressured me into dental treatment, lied about my insurance coverage, damaged my tooth

December 30, 2016 I went for a 6 month check up. During that check up I discussed a root canal I needed. During the dentist exam when asked if there was anything of concern I mention my front tooth which has a crown that maybe once a month it feels like is shifts. I didn't cause me any pain or issues with eating it's just a very sporadic event. She took a hook tool and put it behind my tooth and started pulling. Why would she do this? I could see trying to examine but that was way too much.
After that she tells me I need to do the root canal. She tries to get me to do it Dec 13st stating my insurance runs out. I countered that claim as my contract with my insurance provided took effect 2/1/16 so that had to be wrong. They said they confirmed I was wrong and brought to me in writing. I tell them the 10am appointment will not work for me. I also stated I don't like weekend work done because if there is an issue I can't get help. Also I said I didn't care about losing my insurance money. The finance and staff assured me that the dentist cell phone is provided in case of emergency. They then give me a special 7am appointment.
Sat Dec 31st I show up at 7am. The start the work on my tooth. During the work the dentist pulled this latex "dental dam" over my upper front teeth. While doing the work she said my decay was too bad and she had to do some kind of laser procedure to my tooth getting the root canal. I was in the chair over an hour with that latex thing pulling on my teeth.
After the root canal was done on my bottom tooth I left with 2 prescriptions.
When everything wore off, my upper gum are felt like I had been punched in the gums. My face hurt in the area of my 2 front teeth.

Sunday Jan 1, 2017: I'm eating my lunch, bite my sandwich and my tooth pulls out. No front tooth. It is sitting in my hand. I call the dentist number and get the emergency number. Dentist calls back and suggest I get some crown fix cement. Sunday the office is closed, Monday office closed Holiday, Tues. She's not there and I have to be at work big day in Congress. So that leaves Wednesday.
On Wednesday 1/4/17 I go in and am told I need a bridge, or an implant and they can pull my tooth today. They then tell me I have to pay $3000 out of pocket for an implant and $2000 for the bridge which involves a lot of work due to my crowns on those teeth. I can;t get insurance help because...I used all my insurance on 12/31/16 and it doesn't kick in until 2/1/17.
Wait, this is what I stated on Friday 12/30/16. They lied to me, gave me doctored paperwork and now they want to pull my tooth and get $2000-$3, 000 out of me that day. They offered to give me an application to get approve for financing.
This did not go well. I refused to be touched. I took the estimate and left.
I have contacted my insurance company regarding the incident and the claim. When I left the dentist cemented the tooth back and it came out in a week. I have been gluing the tooth back daily. It has come out at work, at a party and I can't eat properly. I can't chew properly because it will knock the tooth out even with staying away from the tooth.

I have no insurance until Feb1. There's no options for me but to live this miserable existence for 2 more weeks. At work I can't speak without fear of my tooth coming out and it looks weird as it doesn't fit properly.

Neibauer lied, took no care to protect an area with crowns and post when they pulled a dental dam over my teeth that kept popping off and getting pulled over several times. That dentist damaged my teeth, the staff was in collusion to get my money. They spent every penny on 12/31/16.
I am now toothless, embarrassed, miserable and not able to eat properly.

Neibauer Dental need their licenses pulled.

Neibauer Dental Care overpayment of services

I have really good dental benifits wich pay 80-100% of services. On some claims on bridges and crowns they had estimated my ins. To pay at 50%.After receiving my Explanation of Benifits and my patient responsibility was much less they did not refund me or credit to my account. This happened on every claim that was not processed correctly. It was only after I brought it to their attention because I had 2 large claims from 2013 that totaled 850.00 that they decided to look into it.They have given me so many excuses as to why from supposedly given me free services to my insurance did not pay for a claim in 2012.After informing my lawyer would contact them they finally are paying up.I think this is standard practice to not reimburse the patient unless brought to their attention.Since ihad such good insurance they had me in there for everything that probably I did not need. They put a crown on my daughter that was to big and made her teeth shift and another one of their offices worked up a treatment plan for 5000.00 to fix her teeth. These people are SCAMMERS AND CHEATS

Neibauer Dental Care scam

I have been going here for some years now. I have had good dental care, I think. Although I have had several teeth pulled that they said could not be saved.? Wondering now if I should have had a second opinion.

My last visit they took x-rays of my entire mouth, because it had been over 5 years since I had a full-mouth x-ray. The dentist came in and glanced toward them, then asked me if I was having any problems. That was it! No examination of the x-rays and no exam of my teeth. Guess will wait until they're bad enough to be pulled out.

At least the dentist walked into the exam room this time. One other time I didn't even get that.

Think I'll find a new dentist!

Neibauer Dental Care patient is not first... money is

We have consistently had problems with this dentist. Most recently, my daughter had an appt. for a filling. She was having pain in that area, so I rushed home to make sure she made here appt. When we got there, they discussed billing before they would see my daughter who was sitting in the lobby in pain. When I complained, they accused me of being a threat and sent an overweight doctor in the room to intimidate me. I was NOT intimidated, and asked him why he was there. He said to protect his girls. His girls are what he calls the young ladies that work there. (That's another issue in itself) He also said he was a partner in the practice. There is not enough space to write how rude and condescending he was. I told him if patients knew there were partners like him, he would have no patients. I was sitting in a chair and was not being intimidating to anyone. NO concern was shown for my daughter who was NEVER seen or even asked about. When the doctor who was to attend to my daughter finally came out after I was there for about 2 hours dealing with this, all she could say was that she was sorry. Again, no concern was shown for my daughter and NO ONE told me that I would have to pay my balance before my daughter was seen. The bill was wrong and has been consistently wrong and after I saw that the Patient IS DEFINITELY NOT FIRST at this practice, I opted for them to print out my records and leave the practice. My family of 4 have been a customer of this practice for approx. 10 years and I am appalled the lack of customer service and disrespect we received. I have no problem paying what I owe (if they can get the bill right), but I will not go to a practice where the patient is not first and I would advise everyone not to go to this practice. This is just a snippet of what happened. I will also write to the Dental Board.

Neibauer Dental Care services and rudeness

My husband and I have decided to find another dentist for several reasons.
1 the staff if the culpeper office have been rude - once because of a billing mistake they made and again just this morning when we asked for our records to go to a new dentist.
2 We hate the switching of doctors. Not that any have been poor, but it helps in the medical professions to have a real relationship with your doctor. That is not possible with the franchise mentality.
3 Neibauer is more expensive for the same services.

Neibauer Dental Care dental work

DO NOT USE THIS DENTIST. They need to be put out of business. Just about every filling I had done by them has fallen out...they were like paper when they fell out. Also had a bridge done by them that lasted less than 2 years. When I went to get reimbursed for faulty dental work they said they would give me a check, but only after I sign this long letter filled with all sorts of lingo like they could come back and sue me. Told them I would not sign it, but needed my money so I could get their mistakes fixed..still no money from them and this has been going on 6 months. Please put in a complaint to the dental board. This Neibauer should bot be able to perform dental procedures. No such dentist as Dr.Neibauer.. Please help put these so-called dentists out of business and save others from poor costly mistakes.

Neibauer Dental Care overcharging

Everytime we go for our appointment they will overcharge us at the end for services that we have already paid for our treatment plan. And if we are not proactive, they have collected too much money from us without know it. They blame it on their system for not being updated but for 2 years they have always been like that and we always complain of overcharging when our insurance paid for it or we already did. They are also not on time for our appointments. they make you wait for almost an hour and they will not even inform you ahed of time that they are running late so you will not try to be there on time for your appointment knowing that they cannot attend to you on your time because they were so behind. I could have done something worthwhile with my time instead of waiting there. I made an effort to come on time and they dont even bother to let you know they are running late when they knew that all along. I am not coming back to that clinic ever again!

Neibauer Dental Care out for money

This company is a total scam. They told me I needed work done when in fact another dentist said that my teeth confirmed that my teeth were fine. I also had a crown completed with them and 2 months later the crown fell out. They told me that the tooth was fraxtured and that it had to be pulled. The actual dental who completed the crown was no longer employed with Neibauer therfore another dentist had to help me. She said that I would have to pay for the new repairs on that tooth which could cost anywhere from 4 to 5 thousand dollars. I didnot agree because the prior dentist put a crown on a bad/weak tooth from the beginning. He should have know better but they are all about getting the money from patients. I already paid 1400 for this crown and now due to their mistake I have to pay another 5 grand. I don't think so. Also to add to the mistakes of this miserable place, they are tring to bill me for the amounts that Tricare did not pay. This is a nono because Tricare has a contract with this company and they agreed to accept and lessor amount for their services. I need to know if anyone has filed a lawsuit against this company and if they haven't would they like to start a class action suit against them with me? let me know at [protected]@yahoo.com
They need to be held accountable for their wrong doing's and I'm the first to say they have messed with the wrong lady!his

Neibauer Dental Care sketchy

My ex-husband took my daughter to have her wisdom out at the Garrisonville office. My ex and my daughter both told me that an oral surgeon would be taking out her wisdom teeth. My daughter was nervous and scared about the procedure and wanted to be put out. I called her after her procedure and she told me that they gave her novacaine! I called the office and asked if they had an oral surgeon. The receptionist said they had a doctor that extracts wisdom teeth. I asked that if he was an oral surgeon. In a lowered tone she said he was not a board certified oral surgeon and that he was an orthodontist. I would be very careful going to this chain.

Dear Mr. stretchpants,
I am aggrieved to hear of your daughter's experience at my Neibauer Dental Office. It is never our intention to deceive or mislead a patient regarding our doctors qualifications. Not only is that practice of misinformation lacking integrity but it is illegal as well. We are a company that values integrity and transparency and it is disheartening to learn that a patient feels that we have been at the very least evasive. I believe I know of the doctor you are referencing and I can assure you although he is not an oral surgeon, he is more than qualified to preform third molar extractions and has completed successfully as many as some oral surgeons. All doctors are trained to preform extraction procedure, however, oral surgeons are usually able to preform more of the complicated surgery procedures along with being able to offer their patient IV sedation. This particular doctor is an instructor at a very prestigious dental university in the area and is well known and respected within the professional community for his skill, knowledge and care for his patients. It is the intention and expectation of the Neibauer Dental family to ensure our patients are optimally cared for. Thank you for your information as we are always working to improve our patient/customer experience and service. I am at your service to discuss you daughter's visit if you would like to contact me at shoulihan@neibauerdental.com.

I was awake for the removal of all 4 impacted wisdom teeth. It is my understanding that unless the wisdom teeth are impacted a maxillofacial surgeon is not required.

Neibauer Dental Care unprofessional and liers

People do not go to the Neibauer in Gainesville, they are unprofessional, and liers. I should have walked out when I first step a foot in the office. My entire visit went wrong, from the moment I walked in, I saw this girl who was actually the one who cleaned my teeth, bickering with one of the receptionist. Then while getting my cleaning, I heard the doctor talking to her assistant on how they should not tell the other costumer of a lot of work, because the costumer did not have money. But wait, it does not end there, when the doctor came to see me, and after looking at some pictures for a few seconds, I was told I needed $15, 000 of dental work. I mean how did she find out that I needed, or wanted, that amount of work, when she did not even asked my name. That office seemed like a warehouse, I do understand that Friday's are popular, but the employees were so desperate on seeing so many patient's at once. They all have a sticker on their foreheads that read MONEY, MONEY and more MONEY.

Do not go to Neibauer, specially the office in Gainesville!

Neibauer Dental Care seriously injured patient!

Seriously injured patient of & @ neibauer~garrisonville office!
*beware of these butchers` do not get any dental work with this association!

*first let me say 'good luck' to anyone who might've had a good experience @ neibauer..! I was unfortunate & did not...!
It is '3 years' today that they began my dental work, again insisting i needed over $20, 000. In dental work. I have perfectly straight & beautiful white teeth. It looks as if i had this much dental work, but i never needed to.. Well, according to these butcher's they insisted i did need it!
The highly unprofessional, indian female dr.Kaur {who i found out later, only practiced in africa previously}@ this location has injured me up to 3 years of my life to today & possibly for the rest of my life!
She insisted i needed a root canal on only a broken tooth! Against by better judgement & strong instincts i allowed her to do the surgery, i'm killing myself for not walking out of this butcher shop!
She talked over the whole procedure with an assistant during it all, not another dentist, she didn't know what the hell she was doing!
Suddenly, a professional was sent in from their maryland office to take over the root canal, he yelled at her in front of me, at this point i wanted to get up out of that chair, regardless if my tooth was wide open with roots exposed!
I was in that chair for over '7 hours that first day'! Believe it or not there was still another '6 hours of dental work' to this one root canal!
Within 2 days i had a raging infection in my gums, that she caused from impacting my tooth to the gum!
Only 3 days later, she caused what is now my lifelong injury to my mouth, my lower jaw, mouth, lips and tongue are now 'paralyzed', along with tremendous pain to my teeth! I have tingling on my face, shooting pains up to my eyes, all along with the paralysis!
*also, they refused to give me my crown which was already paid for, until i threated them! I had to wait '6 months' to get my crown!
I insisted to see the owners son of neibauer twice, he could've cared this happened to me, he said to me 'this could happen to anyone', and offered me nothing for my pain and suffering ...

How does this all look & sound like the perfect lawsuit?

Stay away from these butcher's...
I am serious!
I am the injured patient!

They are all about the "green" at Neibauer Dental Care and their bosses Heartland Dental Care. Stay away, they don't care about you.

One bad experience doesn't justify you saying a cooperation of educated doctors is a representation of ur bad experience. You can run that risk at any practice. Neibauer was bought over by heartland dental over 2 years ago. The Stafford Neibauer loaction as well as the others have professional experienced skilled dentist that have been practing for years and have a huge patient portal of happy patients. The doctors here have changed lives, improved oral health, educated there patients and made a huge impact in how one feels about there smile. Good luck with you law suit but remember you put yourself at risk during any treatment from any doctor. Nothing is guaranteed.

I totally share your pain and regrets, as I have been through something similar and maybe even worse. I am 36 years old and there is chance that I might need partial for the rest of my mind. You can find my comments on the same page.

I behaved against my judgement and instinct just like you did, but in the end you would like to assume that they are "doctors" and they would hopefully care about human health. I was wrong and I found my self in great pain and misery and this will probably effect the rest of my life as well. Anyway I just wanted to let you know, you are not alone and I feel and share your pain. I hope the best with everything. Good luck.

Neibauer Dental Care change of schedule

I visited this dental office three times, and I was scheduled to have another visit there in March. However, they called me to change my schedule. For all my visits, I couldn't make my scheduled visit because they called me and asked me to change my schedule. I tried to understand them, but they said they don't have any slot for me. All of my visits happened to be month later than my scheduled visit.

I don't know if this is their regular practice, but it seems to me that way.
I strongly don't recommend this dental office!

I've been seeing them for almost 3 years now and I am sick of the constant rescheduling. I have yet to have an original appointment stick. I always get a call a week before saying they will be closed that day and need to reschedule my appointment. What a pain!

Neibauer Dental Care - always over charge co-pay! watch out your dental claim

This is my 3rd visit to this place. 1st visit was the x-ray and general examination. 2nd visit was for tooth filling. They charged me $180 even though my co-pay was $about 130. On my third visit I paid $150 when I had to pay then $50. They credited me the difference between $180 and $130 from the 2nd service during the 3rd service co-pay ONLY when I asked...

Neibauer Dental Care poor quality dentures

After 8 visits the dentures do not fit. I have extreme pain. This place took at least 7 impressions and finally told me that dentures are extremely hard to make. I know several people that have gone elsewhere and had no problem. So, after paying $2000 for one plate I will have to go elsewhere and have others made. I do not have the money for this and am extremely angry. As a professional, I can not even be seen like this. I have lost 3 weeks from work so far. These dentists do not know what they are doing. Please stay away from them!

I paid for my dental bill online using the portal. I need a receipt to submit for my flexible spending account at work, and the office in Hyattsville MD keep saying they can't give me a receipt for online payments.

I just need an itemized receipt, this is outrageous.

I went through the same thing! Made numerous trips back and forth to get my partial to fit, and it never did. Spent the entire summer in pain and spending a LOT of money. That $2, 400 partial sits in the box in my medicine cabinet...
