Memorial Hermann Health System Service

I was seen at Memorial Herman hospital on 8/27/23. I was prescribed medicine that was out of stock at my current pharmacy I

called the ER to see if I can get a transfer to a different pharmacy because I'm currently still in pain. I was told the doctor that seen me is not in when I called 8/28/23. I called again 8/29/23 and was told the same. I have to go back to work. I can't work in pain. The people that answer the ER phone are rude and disconnected my calls. All I want is to be out pain. Can a professional person contact me.

Desired outcome: I would like to get my prescription that is my desired outcome to be out of pain

On April 24th 2023- First of all my stay here initially voluntary, and turned involuntary after Dr. Akujobi tricked me with some verbiage to get me into a back room where I was awaited by staff which forcefully have me strip and confiscated all my belongings Having me back there for hours I wasn't even permitted to use the bathroom, one nurse brought me a...

I brought my mother into the ER suspecting a UTI or dehydration. I informed the nurse and doctor that she was not being treated well at her Personal Care Home, and that I was filing a report with APS on that home. I was very clear that her condition was because of her lack of care at the home. The doctor applauded me for getting her out of there. She wa...

I was never given my discharge paperwork from the ER so I went up there to get it. The ER receptionist was very nice and gave me a number to medical records. I called them and they sent me to radiology where I was told I could come and get a CD but no paperwork. I then went up there and asked for help getting paperwork because I was scared instead of...

Memorial Hermann Health System Emergency room

My husband was very ill and we went to the emergency off Studemont.

The P.A. Told him it was the flu and told him to go home and take Tylenol. He did so. A day later he could not even breathe. Was admitted to the hospital with Sepsis in his blood and on his lungs. We wasted time listening to what the P.A told us. Life threatening time.We were told by his doctors at tge real hospital he could have died if we would have waited the 4-5 days as instructed. Our insurance refused to pay for this emergency room. We are now being sent bills for over $2000 for this. I can nit use the term care because it was not .

Desired outcome: We are looking for a lawyer but if they drop this outrageous charge will let it go as he is still not completely recovered and simply do not want to mess with it. However if they choose to pursue this we certainly will.

Memorial Hermann Health System Memorial hermann sugar land er nurse crystal

Nurse crystal spoke about me and my personal information so loudly I could hear her from the intake room. She denied me medication even though my blood pressure was high stating I was being dismissed and it wasn’t her problem. When I told her I was on the phone complaining, she was yelling loudly in the hallway spelling her name out loud and offering to get the charge nurse. I complained to two different employees and she continued to provoke me walking by speaking loudly about me but not directly. She walked up to the door Frame of the room I was in aggressively telling me to leave. That I was discharged. She was the most ugly and unprofessional person I’ve ever met. She should be fired and never allowed to come in contact with anyone. She thinks she can treat anyone the way she wants and it’s ok. When I asked to speak to an authority they send delondria the administrator to speak to me. She didn’t file a report and when I asked for a higher up person to speak to, she said that was her. I didn’t have issues with the several staff members I was in contact with but she belittled and disrespected me to a breaking point. Please take her license!

Desired outcome: Disciplinary report be filed

On June 16th, I visited this location with my dad who was brought in by ambulance. Upon reaching the counter to see where they had taken him to I had to wait behind another individual. The guy was very hesitant to give the nature of his visit because you have people standing behind him as well as the entire lobby that can hear every word he says. When it...

Memorial Hermann Health System Failure to remedy suffering

I went to the memorial hermann cypress urgent care due to my abdominal pain and lbm. The nurse practioner ordered for ecg that turned to be normal. Due to my history of cardiac ailment she wanted to send me to memorial hermann hospital er. I refused because i'm aware of symptoms of heart attack, i'm simply having abdominal pain and lbm, and I just want a prescription to remedy my suffering but she insisted to send meto the er. I'm still having colic pain in my abdomen and loose motion. Tomorrow if my symptoms will not stop I will try to go to another urgent care clinic not memorial hermann urgent care, these nurse practioners are very afraid to prescribed anything to alleviate this pain which i'm suffering. They are useless people they only wanted to decorate the clinic and doesn't do what they are for, they wanted to transfer and wash their hands by sending me to er

Desired outcome: Because my ECG was NORMAL, what's the point of sending me TO ER. I only wanted a PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE for my 1ABDOMINAL PAIN AND LBM. I'm not suffering chest pain or any sign and symptoms of HEART ATTACK. My ecg was normal

This case manager Kimberley Meza at Hermann Hospital 6411 Fannin is the absolute worst human being I have ever come across in the Medical field. My mother in law was life flight to this hospital April 15th 2023 where she received extensive care and 9 surgeries. Literally the day after her surgery she told me I had 24 hours to get her approved at a rehab...

Memorial Hermann Health System Emergency room billing

I went into Memorial Hermann Emergency Room located at 22430 Grand Corner Dr, Katy TX 77494 on 3/5/2023 for what we thought was a Ganglion Cyst located in my wrist. I was quickly handed paperwork and taken to check my vital signs. While checking my Vitals a nurse simply looked at my wrist and said there was nothing they could do there to help me. They asked me to wait in waiting room for almost two hours. Then Nurse came into waiting room apologized for the wait and the fact there was nothing they could do. She handed me instructions for a hand specialist and a prescription for a pain medication. I was happy with her honesty. I was shocked when the bill for $1707.00 came in the mail. Again I was highly surprised when our insurance only paid $512.00 of this bill. YOu simply took my vital signs and said you could do nothing and you are billing me $1195.00 after insurance? For what? I will be fighting this all the way through as I feel between treatment and insurance this is a total scam.

Kinda funny I paid a primary care Dr $80 and a Memorial Herman Hand Specialist $250 both direct out of pocket three weeks later and they actually solved the issue.

Desired outcome: Bill me something within reason considering you did nothing. You already got $512.00 off my insurance.

Memorial Hermann Health System Rude and unprofessional er worker

On April 9, 2023, I was on the way down from the west building going through the ER to pick up my food delivery. The woman by the name of “Jessica” clearly saw me leave out the door. I was gone all of 5 mins. I’m a visitor but I’ve been at the hospital for 5 days with my fiancé because she is having surgery tomorrow. I’ve even worked here, so almost EVERYONE knows me and has seen me here FOR 5 days going back and forth. I haven’t had an issue with not being let through the emergency doors up until today when she is on duty. She said it was procedure because visiting hours were over but I’ve literally been sleep here with my fiancé, so there shouldnt have been any issue. I’m tired , stressed and so is my fiancé from being here on top of having to have surgery. She even threatened to call security because I said “You didn’t just see me go out the door?” And you could actually still see me if you look through the glass which is right in front of here. She was rude, and very unprofessional. I’m not saying she didn’t have to follow protocol but common sense wouldn’t been a little bit better. Please find more professional people to work the lobby like the people I’m used to seeing as well as used to work with. Thanks

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL!

My mother was put through 9 days of pure hell being hacked on. She shouldnt have even been in the hospital in the first place but because she had a botched gastric bypass which led to the years of unimaginable suffering only to have a botched EGD done August 3rd 2021. By August 8th 2021 she had no feeling in either of her legs. She was admitted and they informed her they were going to have to amputate her legs. The following day they did a exploratory surgery removing a hernia mesh and after her vitals dropped THEN they amputated her legs. They kept her sedated until she passed away August 17th 2021. If you value your life or those that you love, DO NOT go to this hospital.

Memorial Hermann Health System CICU nurses

My husband has Cardiomyopathy and is 100% dependent on his temporary pacemaker. He is inpatient in the Cardiac ICU awaiting a permanent pacemaker and defibrillator placement. He was in alcohol withdrawal yesterday evening, and began experiencing severe shivering and chills. We thought he might have pulled out the temporary pacemaker wire or be seizing. We requested help from nurse’s station 3 times and we’re told “it’s withdrawal”. There was no concern from the nurses. They told us it was shift change, they were short handed, and they had critical patients to tend to. They did not check on him or help him. Finally, I lost it but still did not get immediate help. I called the doctor and he confirmed withdrawal. He also said he would call the nurses. Eventually they came in and gave him an Ativan and he settled down. The nurse that was assigned to us said she would not care for us, but would have another nurse care for us. The head nurse, Gigi took over his care. My daughter and I were both given permission by the head nurse, Gigi, to stay the night to help keep him calm.

Today we were told that we need to go home tonight - that no one could stay with him. We feel that this is retaliation for last nights episode. That we were ignored because he is an alcoholic in withdrawal and, therefore, not important enough to get immediate assistance. We are trying to work it out with the nurses but I feel this is an important issue to be brought to your attention.

Desired outcome: He needs help with his withdrawal as well as his heart. They do have him on a protocol now which we appreciate, however, he needs us to be her to help him.

Memorial Hermann Health System Emergency room services

I'm filing this complaint because on Sept. 19, one of the Nurse practitioners threatened to call security in front of my children to have us removed from the hospital!

I went to this hospital with my two children because my 9 yr old son was having nasal congestion, headaches, and severe pain in his left eye. I got a call from the school nurse letting me know about the situation. He was seen by NP Sneed, a person with no empathy whatsoever, who just prescribed him Flonase and Claritin and sent him home with the same symptoms. I requested an actual doctor, but the NP told me she was the only one available to see him. I insisted on why nothing was done to check his left eye and insisted I wanted him to be checked by a doctor. She then threatened me to call security if I didn't leave. All this happened in front of my kids. I was not aggressive or raising my voice when I asked her to see a doctor, yet she had the nerve to threaten me in front of my two children. They were very sad after witnessing what happened. I had to reassure them several times that nothing would happen and that the police would not be involved.

Sincerely,

Widalis Roque [protected])

Desired outcome: A call from the hospital administration explaining me why nothing was done to my son and why this person threatened us with security.

Memorial Hermann Health System ER staff

Horrible treatment from er triage sept. 2, 2022. The male nurse (?) treated me like [censored] for even showing up "just because I had covid". I was advised to go by a nurse because of underlying health issues. He said, "well of course they told you to go to the hospital, they always do". How [censored]ty. Then, they put me out in the waiting area exposing others to me. When people found out I was positive for covid they got angry that they were exposed to me. I don't know the male nurse's name. He was rude. He also made reference about certain people bringing kids into this world after a hispanic mother took her sick toddler there. That child was very sick. He has no business working in the medical field. After waiting in the er waiting room for about 4+ hours I called my boyfriend to come get me. My blood sugar plummeted as I hadn't eaten in hours and I was already sick. I went to the check in window asking for someone to remove my heplock/iv so I could leave. The look on the young black man's face was of "oh no. What do I do?" he went into the back but no one came out. I asked him to ask someone again to please come take my iv out so I could go home because I was getting sicker and getting no attention in the er. People were ignoring me. Finally I had to get hateful and demand someone take it out. A dr finally took it out saying that my results had been back for a long time but no one came to say anything to me. I left immediately. I also witnessed a hispanic nurse refuse to give an elderly woman a wheelchair. The woman asked, "can I have a wheelchair please"? the nurse said, "why do you want one? you don't need one you're leaving." the woman fell over in her seat. You could hear her breathe across the room. She was dishevled. Her hair, her clothes. You can tell she'd been sick for quiet some time without proper care. That was bs. You don't * treat people like that especially when they're sick! i've witnessed so much rudeness in that er over the years it's not even funny and it's gotten worse. I left and had to go to another er the next day and got the proper treatment that I should've gotten at memorial hermann southeast er but didn't. I didn't even get medical care. I'm filing a formal complaint against that hospital.

Desired outcome: THAT HOSPITAL NEEDS A MAJOR UPLIFT. THIS WAS SEPT. 2, 2022 AT APPROX. 10:30 P.M.

Memorial Hermann Health System Billing

I have about had it with Memorial Hermann Hospital.

If you have a choice do not use them.

I paid my bill on July 25th, 2022. Then on August 8th I get a notice that if they do not get payment they will send me to collections.

I went through my bank account and saw where it was paid on the 25th. I called and spoke to the lady in billing. She said that it takes 30days to post to your account. What? Then don't send me a late notice.

Please be aware and check your credit report. Don't let these idiots screw over your credit because they are incompetent.

Watch yourself and keep good records.

Desired outcome: Don't send people late notices when they have paid.

Memorial Hermann Health System ER (Katy hospital)

Saturday August 6 I arrived by ambulance to the MH Katy hospital ER. I had sustained a brain injury. My head, face, hands and arms were covered in blood. I was wheeled to a lonely, dark hallway and was told to wait. I was in so much pain but no one ask if I wanted to be cleaned up or wanted pain medicine. After 40-45 minutes someone came to register me. Then someone looked at my head and said this way please. Still no meds or care. I was told to sit on the bed, she cleaned just the wound and placed a staple in my head without asking me if I had any pain meds. I did not! Then I was told I could go home but I didn’t even know if I had a concussion or not. The Ct scan was not thoroughly explained, and I was sent home dazed and confused. The worst care I’ve ever seen or experienced in an ER.

Memorial Hermann Health System Detailed billing statement

Not sure what it takes to get a detailed billing for this place.

Not only that. I should not have to request a detailed statement. It should be given upon discharge. I guess then everyone would see the fraud.

I have been asking for a detailed statement of my ER visit. I spoke to a customer service rep. She was sending me the link. Never happened even after verifying email several times. I followed up with an email asking as well. Still nothing.

They are not happy that I want to see exactly what i was charged for as the ER visit is approaching $40000 for just about nothing. A full body Ct scan and a few xrays should be under $10000. At least that is what I am finding as I an researching costs at other hospitals. I don't care that the insurance paid without question. I will question as I owe $7000.

I have no problem paying if the charges are correct and fair but the reluctance to give me a detailed statement proves otherwise.

High healthcare will continue unless we call these hospitals out on unacceptable billing practices.

Desired outcome: I want my detailed statement with all charges explained. If the charges are unacceptable then i want them reduced.

Memorial Hermann Health System Staff's and patient's non-compliance with professional masking protocols during a pandemic caused by an aerosol virus

My wife and I are medical and scientific professionals, respectively. We are both admirably credentialed and experienced.

She is a highly regarded RN/CCM and I am a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine (1983) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with >40 years of experience, often with highly pathogenic organisms.

We were shocked by the lack of adherence by some of the staff, particularly those in the reception area (masks worn under nose) ignoring the appropriate wearing of a mask, despite many signs requiring masks.

We were similarly shocked to see several unmasked patients allowed into the examination rooms by your staff.

Desired outcome: Appropriately train your staff.
