I may be a little biased here, but match.com did the trick. I met my husband on there 6 years ago. It's a bit ridiculous, but after waiting for someone to fall in my lap I had to finally do a little work. Yes, it's work. Dating online is by turns depressing, hilarious, interesting and emotional. You'll meet some nice people, although they might be nice for someone else. But hey, it's the best way to stay in practice and meet people instead of watching re-runs of The Bachelor in your sweatpants. You may meet your match, you may not, but at least you can say you tried.

Match.com Platform for lone people

Recently I understood that I'm too lone person. I have no friends almost, just couple of such ones and anyway we meet each other not so often as I want to. So, I have decided to apply to specialized service where I could find a soulmate, a person who I can chat day n night and I will be interested in this conversation. I applied here because it seemed to me that it's quite a huge dating platform where all people can find theri soulmates. Fortunately, everything was okay I found a soulmate and now we're chating all day long. Soo, I guess we will meet. Thanks to this paltform.

While I am sure that there are a lot of perverts and weirdos out there, I think if you use common sense (such as meeting for the first time in a public place, during the day, and letting someone else know where you are going to be), match.com can be a great place to meet new people. I have only interacted with genuine people on the site and never got "fake winks." For new members, search for a discount code before joining. I think I paid $15 a month for a 3 month subscription. I didn't meet anyone on the site, but I also encouraged my best friend to join and she is dating the person from the first date she went on! They are very cute together.

Match.com The premiere dating website

The premiere dating website - I think this is probably the best dating site out there, purely because it has such a large number of people to sort through. I also like the quality of the people on the site. Most are very real people and not just looking to have fun. These are people who are really looking for a relationship and it is great that you can screen them ahead of time. I will admit that there were a number of people who didn't look quite like their photo, but it wasn't that far off. I have tried dating on CL, and usually it ended up badly. Lots of flakes on CL. But I have always been rather impressed by the match.com people. Definitely worth signing up for their 6 month deal. Guys, my 2 cents is to just put down the higher income bracket, I initially put down a lower amount of money and found the girls would more likely go out with me if I just put down the higher bracket. And, hey, someday I'll make that much...

Match.com Account terminated unjustly

On 3/19/24, Match terminated my membership. Synopsis: A man on Match.com contacted me and gave me his full name in his message to me. Before I have a phone conversation with someone and definitely before I go out with them, I look them up on the PA Criminal Background Website - link: https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/CaseSearch - a FREE SERVICE offered through the PA Court system. I found he had an extensive record. I e-mailed him that the reason I wasn't interested was because he had a long criminal history and I cut and pasted ONE CHARGE of the many that were listed on him. He e-mailed back that what I did was ILLEGAL and he reported me to MATCH saying what I did was ILLEGAL. This is NOT illegal. It is a PUBLIC DATABASE. Match, without looking into it further, TERMIMATED MY MEMBERSHIP. The CRIMINAL's membership should have been terminated instead. After they terminated my membership, I reached out to Match and sent them the website and how to navigate it so they would see for themselves it is a LEGAL PA COURT SITE and they could SEE they have a person on Match with an extensive record-& even sent a screen shot. Nothing I did was ILLEGAL. Ironic that because I don't want to go out with a CRIMINAL, MY MEMBERSHIP is terminated and HIS no doubt continues... How fair is this? They also pointed out "one person complained about me in April 2023" - a year ago. lol. No detailed info of course. Guess anyone you don't go out or are not interested in with can report you and say anything even if untruthful (as it appears many of you HAVE experienced) and Match without investigating at all, terminates your membership. I am respectable person - a Piano Teacher with clearances for Child Abuse, PA Criminal background, and FBI Fingerprinting every 5 years which I renewed less than a year ago. But yet without Match investigating that it WAS a legal SITE, and HE DOES IN FACT have numerous charges in the past, TERMINATED "MY MEMBERSHIP" but probably let his continue. They need to INVESTIGATE before taking the word of someone - as the criminal website is open to the PUBLIC! I let the Better Business Bureau know and if no satisfaction, I will contact legal counsel. This is ABSURD!

Match.com Match.com Review: A Major Scam - Beware of Fake Profiles and Scammers

I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty ticked off at Match.com. I mean, I heard from some friends that they met their significant others on there, so I thought I'd give it a try. Boy, was I wrong. I fell for their marketing tricks and ended up signing up for a whole year at $217! I mean, that would be a good deal if it was a legit site, but it's not. In less than two days, I was contacted by around 15 guys who turned out to be scammers. And I'm not talking about the typical cheesy dudes looking for a hookup. These guys were straight-up criminals, stealing other people's photos and creating fake profiles just to scam people out of their hard-earned money. They were good, too - they had multiple photos and well-filled-out profiles. It took a lot of work to figure out they were fake.

I reported every single one of them, but Match.com didn't seem to care. I spent four hours on the phone with them, trying to get a refund, but they just kept saying no. They wouldn't even transfer me to a supervisor. I offered to pay for just one month of service, since I had only signed up less than 48 hours ago and had already been contacted by so many scammers, but they wouldn't budge. They just kept saying they had good results and refused to do anything about the fake profiles. I have a feeling they're making a lot of money off of them, so they don't want to stop them.

I'm not the only one who's been scammed, either. I've talked to other women who have paid money to these terrible people. It's a major scam, and the government needs to step in and do something about it. I filed complaints with the FTC and Consumer Affairs, and I'm even considering a class action lawsuit. This is not okay.

So, how can you spot the scammers? Well, there are some big red flags. They're usually widowed, and they talk a lot about their feelings. They say everything a woman would want to hear from a man, and they get overly attached quickly. They also use weird grammar and syntax, and they'll often ask you to communicate with them offline on some other app. They use free devices to communicate, and their area code doesn't match up with their listed location. They'll also give vague answers to your questions and ask a lot of questions of their own. And if you question them too much, they'll get angry and defensive.

Honestly, the whole thing is just a mess. I wouldn't recommend contacting anyone outside of your city, because that's the only way they can really scam you. And even then, it's not a guarantee. Match.com has total control over who is seen and who isn't, so you could end up paying $217 for a year of nothing at all. It's a total rip-off, and the government needs to do something about it.

Match.com Navigating the Pitfalls of Match.com: A Cautionary Tale of Love and Loss

So, you're thinking about trying out Match.com? Well, let me tell you, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. Sure, you might find someone who catches your eye, but there are a lot of potential pitfalls to watch out for.

First off, let's talk about billing. A lot of people have had issues with being overcharged, so make sure you keep an eye on your account. But even if you don't have any billing problems, you might still find that the people you're talking to aren't exactly who they say they are. I recently met a woman on Match who seemed amazing at first. She was gorgeous, charming, and knew just what to say to keep me interested.

But as I got to know her better, I started to realize that something wasn't quite right. She was a recent widow, which is sad enough on its own, but the way she talked about her deceased husband was... off. She didn't seem to have any grief or sadness about his passing, which struck me as odd. And when I looked into her story a bit more, I found out that she had only been married to the guy for five years before he died. And yet, she inherited a ton of money and property from him. She didn't even bother to have a funeral for him - just had him cremated and sold off his assets.

Now, I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it seems to me like this woman might be a bit of a gold digger. She jumped into Match.com pretty quickly after her husband's death, which strikes me as a bit insensitive. And the way she interacts with people on the site is... strange. She got me mixed up with other guys a few times, and seemed to forget appointments we had made. She would write back to me with interest, then suddenly drop off the face of the earth, only to come back a few days later and act like nothing had happened. It was all very confusing.

Now, I'm not saying that everyone on Match.com is like this woman. But I do think it's important to be cautious when you're using any dating site. You never know who you might be talking to, or what their motivations might be. And while Match.com might seem like a good option, there are other sites out there that might be better suited to your needs.

For example, I've had some luck with Craigslist. Yes, it's a bit risky, but I've met a couple of great women through the site. They were both attractive and charming, but more importantly, they were sincere. They weren't just looking for a quick buck or a free meal - they were genuinely interested in getting to know me.

Of course, not everything worked out perfectly. One woman I met on Craigslist was a bit... intense. She was a recent widow too, and she seemed to be running away from her grief rather than dealing with it. And the other woman eventually went back to her abusive husband, which was heartbreaking. But overall, I had better luck on Craigslist than I did on Match.com.

So, what's the bottom line? Well, I think it's important to be careful when you're using any dating site. There are a lot of people out there who are just looking to take advantage of others, and you don't want to be their next victim. But if you're willing to take a chance, you might just find someone special. Just remember what Maya Angelou said: "Never make someone a priority when you are only an option!" If you're not getting the attention and respect you deserve, it's time to move on. Good luck out there!

Match.com Match.com Review: A Total Rip-Off - Don't Waste Your Time or Money

There are a lot of negative reviews about Match, but let's talk about the real problem with this dating site. Sure, they have a bad reputation for renewing payments without consent, but that's not the only issue. I tried Match last year and into 2017, and I have to say, I was not impressed. I paid over $150 for six months and got nothing in return. I didn't even get the promised three months of premium service for free. It's a total rip-off.

I'm not the only one who feels this way. Many people who have paid for Match are angry and want their money back. It seems like the only people who have success on this site are either paid to write positive reviews or are just lucky. Match may work for some people, but for most of us, it's a waste of time and money.

One of the biggest problems with Match is that you can't even send a message unless you pay up. And even if you do pay, there's no guarantee that anyone will respond. I sent a nice message to a woman who was supposedly compatible with me, but she never replied. It's frustrating to pay for a service and not get anything in return.

Another issue with Match is that their compatibility matching system is a joke. They claim to match you with people who are compatible with you, but in reality, it's just a bunch of nonsense. I was matched with a woman who was supposedly 80-90% compatible with me, but she didn't even reply to my message. It's clear that Match has no real way of matching people.

Overall, I would not recommend Match to anyone. It's a waste of time and money. If you really want to try it out, only get the free trial to see if it's worth it. Don't pay for anything unless you're sure it's worth the money. Match has a lot of issues, and until they fix them, they don't deserve anyone's business.

Match.com Match.com Review: A Total Scam - Don't Waste Your Time or Money!

So, I gotta tell ya, Match is a real doozy. I mean, I thought it was gonna be a great way to meet some ladies, but boy was I wrong. First off, I read all their policy stuff and it seemed legit, but once I signed up and started sending messages, I realized something was off. None of my messages were being read, even though the women were online. So, I called customer service and they told me that the women had to be fully paid members to read my messages. What kind of nonsense is that? I already paid to be a member, why should I have to pay more for someone to read my messages? It's like sending a birthday card to a friend and the mailman saying they have to pay for it before they can read it.

But it gets worse. I ended up paying the extra fee and still had no luck. Most of my messages were ignored. And then, when my membership was about to expire, they sent me an email urging me to renew. I decided to renew because they offered me 3 months for the price of 1. But then, a few hours later, I couldn't log into my account. They sent me an email saying I violated their policy by being rude to a member and my account was deleted. But get this, they won't tell me why my account was deleted unless I get a subpoena issued by an attorney and send it to their head office. What kind of craziness is that? And they charged my credit card before banning me, and even charged me for 3 months instead of 1. And they won't give me a refund either.

I mean, I was pretty ticked off, but I kept all my correspondences with them and was able to get a refund from my credit card company. But seriously, don't waste your time or money on Match. It's a total scam. Don't believe those fancy commercials on TV. They're just trying to steal your money.

Match.com Review: My Experience with Match - Autorenewal, Fraudulent Accounts, and Finding Love Online

Match is a dating service that is owned by IAC/InterActive Corp. They own a lot of brands, like Match, OkCupid, Tinder, and more. If you're looking for love online, you're probably using one of their sites. One thing that I don't like about Match and other dating services is the autorenewal feature. It takes your money every month, three months, or year that you sign up. It's hidden, so I usually have to Google how to turn it off. The good news is that you can turn off your subscription the same day you sign up, which stops autorenewal but still lets you use the service for the duration of what you've paid. They also offer discounted rates for renewing at the end of your contract, compared to autorenewal.

I haven't experienced bots contacting me on Match, but I have on other services that are probably owned by IAC. There are fraudulent accounts that will contact you on Match, but they're easy to identify. They're usually young, gorgeous, and way out of my league. They have no preferences about the men they want to meet, and their English is not great. Their profiles usually say "I'm not a paying member, contact me at," and then they list an email address that's written out so Match won't immediately detect it. They usually disappear within 24 hours and will like/wink/message me when online.

In my experience, there are three types of members on Match. There are those who use it as entertainment and won't respond, those who may like/email/call but won't go out, and those who are adventurous and will go out and know what they want. If you know what you want, you'll have a better experience.

Profiles can tell you a lot or nearly nothing. My philosophy is to fill out everything on the profile page I can, but get my pictures right first. My profile shot should be a headshot. I try to use my family and friends to get a great picture or use my phone's voice activation. I smile and think of something hilarious because a good smile is essential. I have a recent full-body shot, but I don't take it in a bathroom or gym. I have a picture of me doing something I love, and I try to make it obvious that I like doing it. Three pictures are the minimum. Less than that conveys laziness.

Nobody reads profiles until they've vetted your pictures. Most are nearly exactly the same. In the Kansas City area, and probably the rest of the world, women want a funny guy. Guys like funny girls. If you tell somebody you're funny, you're doing what nearly everybody else does. If you make them laugh while they read your profile, you won't need to tell them you're funny, and you've differentiated yourself. Smart people write more than dumb ones. Make 'em laugh and tell them about something you're passionate about.

When setting up for the first time, it can take a month before you go out on a date. That was my experience. Each time I renewed, I got outreach much faster. Always being visible will lower your results. Hide your profile when you've got someone interesting after your first date. I scheduled as many first dates around the same time as possible and let the cards fall where they may. Inevitably you'll have to cancel some dates if you find someone interesting. If that interesting person doesn't pan out, you can go back to the ones you've canceled. Usually, a rescheduled first date is a permanent cancel, but a canceled first date due to meeting someone can work out well. Ya need to understand the difference.

I've been on and off Match since about April 2013. I began as a separated man. Separated has a stigma, so does never married above 35 years old. It's good to know your level of attractiveness. The Discovery channel did a documentary on the Science of Sex Appeal, and it addresses a lot of issues people misunderstand.

On Match, my outreach was horrible, but my profile brought a lot of interested women, many of whom I was attracted to, but meeting always provided better insight. I usually posted 15 to 20 pics and had captions on all of them. I tried to make women laugh and stand out from the rest.

Sometimes "reverse match" worked better than mutual match or discover. Match will often delete your preferences, so be careful when searching. I dated women 15 years younger than me up to nine years older.

In summary, be patient, be polite, be nice, and be honest. If you're not getting any response, it's you or at least your presentation on Match. If you want to see your competition, open your public profile. On the left side, there's a link that says "see more like_______" click it, and you'll see other members you're competing with and be able to read 4-5 lines of their profile. If they're more interesting than you, ya need to do something about that.

Match.com Beware of Match User: Manipulative Gigolo Preying on Vulnerable Women

I joined Match on August 15th, thinking it would be a good place to meet mature people. However, I was quickly contacted by a strange man who had been a member of the site for a long time. We exchanged a few emails, and he seemed to be using common interests and other tactics to gain my trust. He even shared private details about his family, which made me uncomfortable.

As we continued to talk, he revealed that he had been "stalking" me and other exotic women on the site for months. He had a strange fixation on women with black hair, dark skin, and dark eyes, and he would do anything to gain their trust and manipulate them into a one night stand or two. He claimed to be educated and working in finance, but it turned out that he was actually a gigolo who preyed on vulnerable women and manipulated them into paying for everything.

His photos on the site were far from reality, as he lived in a small village in the south of the UK, surrounded by dust mites and mildew. He was a penniless hoarding hermit, up to his neck in debt, and living in a dark, dingy, and dirty house. He had nothing to offer anyone, and he was looking for an unsuspecting female to rescue him from his worthless existence and live off her earnings.

He was mentally ill, and his health problems sounded like a publication in a health journal for grubby diseases. He did not practice safe sex and would expose unsuspecting women to horrible STDs. He was a dangerous man who used his mouth to string out lies and pick up disease from immoral individuals like himself.

In conclusion, I would warn any girls out there not to fall for his attention and attempts to win your sympathy. He has an ugly mind and an ugly nature, and you are simply one of many that he has on the loop. He is a manipulative, taker, gigolo, and user who will disappear as soon as he gets what he wants. Don't waste your time on him, as he is not worth a second of it.

Match.com Match.com Review: A Clever Scam with Fake Profiles and Stolen Pictures

I joined match.com on a one month trial basis and was pleasantly surprised by the plethora of pretty profile pics and bios. I thought I was in with the in crowd, but boy was I wrong. Match.com is a total scam. Everything and I mean everything is a scam. The only saving grace for match.com is the clever nature of how they have some nifty programmers and process architects at the company.

Did you know that match.com has devised templates to fill in many profile bios? It is all so simple in fact. Many of the pics are harvested from all sorts of internet sources. Sure there maybe be some honest profiles, like mine and yours, and pics to go along with them. But again, it is quite easy in this industry, from personal experience, with the clever use of data source management to make anything look real.

Ever wonder why after receiving winks and favorites that the profile is then hidden or unavailable? This I must admit is really really clever. I counted 47 winks and favorites received only to find that the profile is hidden. To think in any reasonable terms that many members on match.com are prone to absurdly uncommon and unusual behaviour is a little hard to believe.

Recently, I contacted match.com corporate office and insisted that I communicate with one of their senior mgmt. To outline my concerns. The very next day, there is not one wink, interest, email or favorite from "other" members. Zero Nada. When for some weeks before I would routinely receive a regular stream of the new winks and favorites from individuals in my area. My account is still active and paid for. No changes there. I will let you make up your own mind on that one ok.

It has now become clear that any likes/interests given from profiles with just one picture will become hidden or profile unavailable immediately after it has been sent. Again, we can see the obvious use of ex members pictures in a blatantly disrespectful manner. In some cases, and I have used google images to verify, pics from a single former profile will appear in two or more new profiles.

Let everybody who is a paying member perform this test. First look at your winks, before you even open them to see who sent it, I can almost assure you that the "senders" profile will have just one pic. This is obviously the last you will hear from this member, as the profile will then gone forever. Far too much of a coincidence in my honest opinion. Match.com likes to get as much usage and value it can out of old and non active profiles. I wonder if the owners of these pics actually know what is going on without their consent.

Also, check your email inbox in your main email account. If you see messages from e. G ***@talkmatch.com, this is a one of those feed in emails that do nothing more than give a profile from thousands of miles away, and then do the "hidden profile or unavailable" when you access it. You will see another form of email coming from e. G ***@Talkmatch.com, note the capital T this time. These are real and from actual people. The other one mentioned is most possibly used by match.com to give the impression that there are so many active members interested, when it fact it is an absolute hoax.

When you receive winks and likes. First check to see if profile contains just one picture. This is a tell tale sign that the profile will go hidden or become unavailable within minutes. It is truly impossible for match.com to continue in the guise of a reputable business. Much needed regulation and judicial oversight is required to protect the interests of customers totally and utterly duped by such fraudulent business practices as those shown by match.com.

Match.com Match.com Review: Beware of Scammers and Predators on this Dating Site

I contacted Match.com to let them know about a man I met on their site back in June. I commented on a photo on his profile and he responded almost immediately. As a woman in her late 40'summer with plenty of life experiences, including bad relationships and my share of heartache, I wanted to believe that this person on the other end of a computer was not going to bend a jerk or predator.

After emails and learning the basics about each other and discovering he was in Afghanistan working, I still thought he was worth meeting. What could it hurt? I should have known better that a man who is away every 3 months and across the world only to be home a couple days here and there wasn't looking for a relationship. I should have guessed when our first date was less about having meaningful conversation and more about plenty of distractions yet eager to make out with me at the end of the date... he was too eager and presumptuous, but I just thought he really liked me and so I let it go.

I made the mistake of flying out to see him when he asked. I made the mistake of not telling him there would be no sex during that 4 day visit. He assumed we would, but was so sweet to inform me we wouldn't have sex that first evening when I arrived. That's when I told him I had no intention of having sex and that I wanted something meaningful, a relationship and not just a one night stand or hook up. I told him I didn't want to be used and discarded. He heard me, but he still wanted what he wanted. Stupidly, loneliness, desire, and the need to be wanted got the best of me and I caved. It was a huge mistake. Ladies, it will always be a huge mistake for us when we give ourselves so easily to men. Just because they like us doesn't mean they want a relationship with us! We get caught in the moment and take chances and even dangerous risks to our health. He had every intention of having sex that weekend yet no condoms on hand nor a mention of whether he was HIV/AIDS/STD free. It was I who brought it up and started that conversation before anything ever happened.

As a woman, sex means more to us and we cannot have sex without becoming emotional or developing feelings for that person we give our bodies to... it just isn't chemically possible. This man I trusted, liked, cared for and was so excited about - that I failed to ask the questions I needed and wanted to ask because I was afraid it would scare him away - called me, wrote to me, text me and made plans for another weekend together. He had me somewhere I had never been before with any man and I lost myself. So many possibilities and potential plans as I counted the days until he returned. After another month - only this time he was up visiting family in New England - he made sure we met up hours before our weekend was to begin so we could carry out something he wanted to do with me. Again, I just gave him what he wanted and then some. Didn't matter that I told him how much it meant to me to give him what he wanted, nor did it matter how much I wanted our weekend, he later called to cancel plans that night. And that's where it all really began to unravel.

I knew he was still on match even after we were intimate and I was uncomfortable and afraid. Yes, I hinted at it, but fear crept in and so I didn't dare question him on what it was he was doing or what we were doing. He told me we were dating on our second date. He talked about future plans to go places and more. I was naive and allowed him to dictate and control everything we were to do and did.

I got a call from this man I grew to care about, this man I thought was a gentleman and a man of faith telling me he had thought it over and realized that due to his work schedule (not being around enough) and that I became attached too quickly, that it was over. I was shocked, confused, hurt, and numb. We didn't just go out to dinner a movie a few times and parted ways. He said and did things that would make any woman believe and think that not only were you dating each other, but in the early stages of a romantic adult relationship.

Please understand that I never expected anything more than to proceed as we were doing, allowing time to take its course and see where things between us would go. I waited a month for him to come home and suddenly, there I was wondering what happened.

He left town again and I couldn't understand what happened. He didn't have the decency or honor to have met me in person to discuss. He had no issue when it came to having sex so soon, but my caring about him, well that was just too much to handle I guess.

So there I was blaming myself for everything and he never said I'm sorry. I asked if all that took place between us meant nothing to him and he said nothing. It came down to a "Yeah" from him when I asked, "So that's it?"

This man continued to be on match right after he was done with me and was on it right before my membership expired. This man who told me he realized he didn't want a relationship due to his schedule had updated his profile to say that he is looking for the "one". Someone to hold hands with when he is 70 and tell himself how lucky he is. Funny coming from someone who just let someone who wants a relationship and cares enough about him to try and work things out after he went back to Afghanistan. The man who actually called me and wrote how me might be able to do things we were supposed to do when he came back home. Yes, I was excited and yet a fool to think I could trust him again. That's why I wrote him a couple times asking him to think about what he wanted and to let me know because I couldn't take the chance to wait another month and a half only for him to change his mind and leave me waiting and devastated.

Guess asking for an answer was too much for him. His email response left me NUMB. He could have been nice and decent, but instead he was cruel. He wrote " 'dating" was something we have never done". He wrote I was a stalker and not to reply with an email telling him how awful he is because he had enough already. Perhaps those awful emails are from the other women he has been communicating with who he has hurt. Maybe it's from the woman he loves her legs in yoga pants... he had email me once stating how much he loved my legs in yoga pants, but I never wore any for him. It didn't hit me until after it ended and that made me worry even more about who the man I was with really is.

I called and emailed Match.con and all they wrote back is that "appropriate action " had been taken. Due to privacy policies, that's all they would allow me to know. That's interesting. Sour that tells us that anyone can get a paid Match.Com membership and have access to countless numbers, of men and women who are truly seeking a relationship and potentially be hurt by scammers, predators, and others posing as wanting a relationship when it's sex they really want.

I'm sure gbow321 will be online and continuing to find another person, like myself, who will give him a chance in spite of his schedule (for the next 2 Years and maybe longer) because they believe what he says, presents, and says he will do only to find themselves tossed aside.

I was an idiot, but you don't have to be. Please take this warning seriously. I am not a stalker, nor am I a woman who is seeking revenge because this man wasn't into me after a couple dinner dates, nor do I want this man in my life ever again. There are many more explicit details about what took place between myself and gbow321 to prove what I'm saying is truthful and not some vendetta. As a woman, I must protect other women from what some men do so easily and without remorse. As I wrote him in a final email to him (for myself and not for him), I will never make the mistakes made with gbow321 again with any man.

Get to know these men online, ladies. Ask everything upfront and do NOT be afraid to state what you want and will not do until that man has proven themselves to be worthy and in an exclusive and committed relationship with you! Do not settle and do not allow Match.Com to continue taking your money if they cannot protect you from people like gbow321 on their dating site.

There needs to be a profile rating system where members can post anything negative (based on actual facts/proof) to warn other members. If you pay a fee, then this should be part of the membership benefits, don't you agree?

Match.com Match.com Review: A Disappointing Scam That Will Only Empty Your Wallet

I decided to give Match a try after taking a break from POF for a year. The first thing I noticed was the new interface, which looked promising. However, my experience with Match was disappointing, to say the least.

If you're looking for a dating site that will help you connect with singles, I suggest you skip Match and try strolling around the produce section of your local grocery store. I'm not just sharing my personal opinion here; I have hard evidence to back it up. I've included screenshots at the bottom of this page so you can see for yourself.

Let me break it down for you. Here are some real examples of how useless and deceptive Match really is:

1. Hey guys, you said it's free but it doesn't work.
Match claims to be a free site, but that's far from the truth. Men have to purchase tokens to send letters to women. The selection process is confusing, and there are numerous options and features that can mislead you about what you have access to. The most basic option is to purchase one token to send letters to members. You can buy tokens in larger values, but they won't improve your chances of meeting anyone. It's just a cheap cash grab by the company.

2. Return to sender.
This part is hard to believe, but it's true. About 75% of profiles I replied to rejected all letters from men. Why? I have no idea. Their profiles remain active, but they reject all contact from men. When a woman is online, there's a small blue dot with the word "ONLINE" next to her name, indicating that she's logged on. But she doesn't want to hear from you. It's like walking into a store and seeing all the merchandise on the shelves, but you're not allowed to purchase anything, and no one is there to answer your questions.

3. Can somebody help me please?
I tried to contact customer service to ask why profiles of women are active when they're rejecting all mail. If they want to temporarily reject letters, their profiles should be hidden to avoid frustration. Match doesn't offer any contact information for such questions. There's a link to a form that you can fill out with your concerns, but there's no option available to ask specific questions. Match is basically telling you to get lost, and your concerns mean nothing to them.

4. Somebody is interested in me?
Match notified me that women were interested in me, but I had to pay an additional fee to find out who they were. When I clicked on the link, I saw a blurred-out image of a member. If I wanted to see who this person was, I had to pay more. The "viewed & liked you" member was from outside the province/state or country. Women from outside Canada were interested in me, but locals were not. Hmm, interesting how that works, huh?

5. Hello, how are you today?
Most women refuse to reply to letters sent to them. I send a simple and neutral message like, "Hello, how are you tonight? I found your profile and wanted to see if you may like to chat?" Most ignore the men's letters and ban them from contacting them. It supports the suggestion that many profiles are fake to attract members who will spend money to use this site.

6. I can't send any more letters today?
When I purchased my token, nowhere was I informed that I had a limited number of letters that I could send per day. Once I sent out the limit that Match established, I had to wait 24 hours before I could send another letter. But I paid to use this site, which means I should be able to send all the letters I wish. Does that make sense to you? Not according to Match.

7. Did I see you somewhere else?
I found duplicate profiles from two different locations. The photos were the same, but a few minor details were changed, such as age, employment, and marital status. There are phony profiles on this site.

8. You live where?
I found a profile of a woman living in a town that I never heard of. I had to Google it to see where it is. According to the profile, she lives in a remote community in Northern Ontario. I sent "her" a letter, and "she" replied right away. Within five messages, "she" told me that "she" was currently living in Nigeria and could use a few dollars to help with groceries until "her" next paycheck. I banned "her."

9. What do you mean I can't change my personal information?
You have to pay a monthly fee to change your username or information on your personal profile page.

10. Hey lady, you're a dog.
Women attract men on this site by posting photos of dogs, cats, horses, shoes, and somebodies lunch. It's hard to take someone like that seriously.

11. I can't send you a letter because of what?
At times, you'll send a letter to a woman, and she won't accept letters unless you upgrade your account. That means you have to spend a monthly fee for additional features that you don't need at all. What possible reason does that woman have to insist that you first pay an additional fee for your membership to contact her? There's no logical explanation. Match has countless fake profiles that motivate you to spend money for a feature you don't need to contact a phantom member who doesn't exist. If this isn't criminal behavior, then what is?

12. Photos are ripped from other sites.
When you look at the photos on Match, they're clearly professional shots. Most of the profiles with one photo have a deceptive profile. The woman looks like she's in her mid-20s, but she posts her age as 50. Match allows fake profiles to saturate their site to attract men, and that's the scam.

In conclusion, everything about Match is a scam. This site exists only to extort money from your pocket and nothing more. Save your money because this site does not deliver anything except frustration.

Match.com An insult to online consumers

Hi
I had joined match.com on a one month trial basis. Somehow, I felt this site could not be as bad as the many many bad reviews would suggest. So, with a sense of fairness in mind, I said to heck with it and lets see what happens.

There are times when in dealing with businesses that we all truly understand they are all trying to make a buck. Whether that is Walmart.com maybe inflating the stated savings for an item, or some companies getting their employees to write good reviews for them. That's life and that is business. The very nature of such is selling a product service presented or in many cases overly presented to increase chances of a sale.
Nothing new there and we all know and accept it. But not is all lost. Just as companies have tricks of the trade to ensure maximum profits, so do consumers have the ability to look for savings and huge discounts. So the overall playing field is not as one sided as we would expect.

Then along come the likes of Match.com and their ilk. Where does one start with total dissatisfaction with this company. Everything and I mean everything is a scam. The only saving grace for match.com is the clever nature of how they have some nifty programmers and process architects at the company. I work in this field myself so am qualified to offer a validated comment or two in this regard. Though not working for a company like match.com or any one like it. So, basically, for all those out there who wonder how does thing work or who comes up with the concepts etc. Let me fill you in.

On the outside, from the customer facing viewpoint, we see or believe we see countless individuals similarly looking to meet others on this site. The plethora of pretty profile pics and bios would suggest this site really attracts the best out there. Look for yourself, there are for the most part some of the prettiest and best presented people on match.com. Now, as every new user imagines they are in with the best group around. Clever use of consumer psychology to let you think you as the new member are in with the in crowd. The use of dubious winks and interests etc. are merely a system automated process to take the place of actual and real users. Almost in the same fashion as an iv unit in a hospital will at intervals provide the correct dosage to the patient, so does the system of winks and interests work the same way.

Now for the profiles, did anybody know that match.com has devised templates to fill in many profile bios. It is all so simple in fact. Again I work in this area and know how it works. Many of the pics are harvested from all sorts of internet sources. Sure there maybe be some honest profiles, like mine and yours, and pics to go along with them. But again, it is quite easy in this industry, from personal experience, with the clever use of data source management to make anything look real. So, think of it like this, there is most probably an employee at match.com sifting through expired or cancelled profiles and searching for good pictures to then send to another dept to come up with profile bios. Then the finished product in the form of the profile is set aside in a database of profiles. When a new user joins, the location, age group, likes dislikes etc. of the user are recorded. All this is done to tailor the response profiles to fit the member preferences. Pretty nifty eh!.

Ever wonder why after receiving winks and favorites that the profile is then hidden or unavailable. This I must admit is really really clever. I counted 47 winks and favorites received only to find that the profile is hidden. To think in any reasonable terms that many members on match.com are prone to absurdly uncommon and unusual behaviour is a little hard to believe. Now comes the moment to pause and think for one second. If match.com was a reputable company, then they would have investigated why virtually every profile becomes hidden within minutes of activity. Now that is and is most possibly the straw that will eventually break the camels back. Pushing the ball back to match.com in this regard is most certainly something they have not looked at for now, or come up with some angle to excuse themselves from any wrongdoing.

Really, I am so interested to see what eventually happens to match.com and their ilk. Much needed regulation and judicial oversight is required to protect the interests of customers totally and utterly duped by such fraudulent business practices as those shown by match.com

Update 12/04/2015:

It has now become clear that any likes/interests given from profiles with just one picture will become hidden or profile unavailable immediately after it has been sent. Again, we can see the obvious use of ex members pictures in a blatantly disrespectful manner. In some cases, and I have used google images to verify, pics from a single former profile will appear in two or more new profiles. Do the powers that be not understand that Google images can verify origin of pics.

The ball maybe soon ending for Match, com. It is truly impossible for it to continue in the guise of a reputable business.

*** Let everybody who is a paying member perform this test. I wonder if the owners of these pics actually know what is going on without their consent.?

Match.com Women Pleasw Beware of Match profile: gbow321

I contacted Match.com to warn them about a man I met on their site back in June. Sadly, I was the one to reach out by commenting on a photo on his profile. He responded almost immediately and so it began.
I should have guessed when our first date was less about having meaningful conversation and more about plenty of distractions yet eager to make out with me at the end of the date... he was too eager and presumptious, but I just thought he really liked me and so I let it go.
It was a huge mistake. Ladies, it will always be a huge mistake for us when we give ourselves so easily to men. Just because they like, us doesn't mean they want a relationship with us! We get caught in the moment and take chances and even dangerous risks to out health. He had every intention of having sex that weekend yet no condoms on hand nor a menation of whether he was HIV/AIDS/STD free.
Match.com POF is a joke

I decided to take a chance after a years absence from POF and see if by chance things have changed. The first thing I noticed was an entirely new interface which seemed promising but sadly, that's where it ended.

For those of you looking for a dating site that will help you connect with singles then please do yourself a favor and just rely on strolling around the produce section of your local grocery store. Rather than just posting my personal opinions, I have provided you with hard evidence so you can decide for yourself. I have included screenshots and you'll find them at the bottom of this page.
I'll keep this as simple as possible. I will be sharing real examples of how useless and deceptive this site really is.

1. Hey guys, you said it's free but it doesn't work.
Nothing is free about this site. To send letters to women the men must first purchase tokens. The selection process is somewhat deceptive and misleading because there are numerous options and features that can confuse you about what you have access to. The most basic option is to purchase 1 token in order to send letters to members. You can purchase tokens in larger values and they will allow you to spruce up your profile with colored borders and bold text etc. None of this really works. It's just a cheap cash grab by the company which does NOT improve your chances of meeting anybody.

2. Return to sender.
This part I wish to take my time to elaborate on because many of you reading this will have a hard time believing it. Without exaggerating, my personal experience has demonstrated that approx 75% of profiles I reply to REJECT all letters from men. Why? I have no idea but I've included a screenshot below to prove this so have a look for yourself.
Think about it. This is a dating site. As a single male I would like to meet a single woman but they refuse & reject letters from all men. However, their profiles remain active for you to see. Why? What is the point of having an active profile and being online yet simultaneously you are rejecting contact from all men? Please understand that when the woman is online there is no mistake knowing this because there is a small blue dot with the word "ONLINE" next to her name indicating that she is logged on, BUT, she doesn't want to hear from you. Explain the logic to that?
That's like walking into a store and seeing all the merchandise on the shelves but you're not allowed to purchase anything and when you try to ask why, nobody is there to answer you. Explain that POF?

3. Can somebody help me please?
I attempted to contact customer service to request an answer to why profiles of women are active when they are rejecting all mail. If they wish to temporarily reject letters then the policy should be that their profiles are hidden so to avoid frustration. POF does NOT offer any contact information for such questions as per the attachment at the bottom of the page. If you notice at the bottom of the screenshot there is a link to a form that you can fill out with your concerns regarding questionable practices. I did attempt to go this route but there is NO option available to ask specific questions. They give you a limited list of options but none are suitable for the problem mentioned. In simple terms, POF is basically telling you to get lost and your concerns mean nothing to them.

4. Somebody is interested in me?
Wow, I was notified that there are women interested in me and how do I find out who they are? There is a link at the top of the page, "Interested in Me". If you click on this link here is what you will see (look at attachments). It's a blurred out image of a member. Now, if you click on that members photo/name it takes you to another page where you are informed that in order to see who this person is then you must PAY an additional fee (as per attachment). Here is the gut punch. If you can see in the image, there are two descriptions below the photo under the members name. 1. viewed you. 2. Viewed & liked you.
The "viewed & liked you" member is from outside the Province/State or Country. Yeah, women who are from outside Canada are very interested in me but locals are not. Hmm. Interesting how that works, huh?

5. Hello, how are you today?
Most women refuse to reply back to letters sent to them. I make it a point to send a very simple and neutral message. For example. "Hello, how are you tonight? I found your profile and wanted to see if you may like to chat?".
Most ignore the men's letters and rather than being civilized and decent, they ban the man from contacting them. Yeah, you get banned from sending her a letter. This only supports the suggestion that many profiles are fake for the purpose of attracting members who will spend money to use this site.

6. I can't send any more letters today?
When I purchased my token (allowing me to send letters), nowhere, I stress NOWHERE was I informed that I have a limited number of letters that I can send per day. Once I send out the limit that POF established I now must wait 24 hours before I can send another letter. But hold on a moment, I PAID to use this site which means I should be able to send all the letters I wish. Does that make sense to you? Not according to POF.

7. Did I see you somewhere else?
I decided to spend some time looking at profile from other provinces and into the US. To my surprise I found duplicate profiles from two different locations. In fact, two provinces. The photos were the same but a few minor details were changed such as age, employment and marital status. Brace yourself people, there are phony profiles on this site.

8. You live where?
I found a profile of a woman living in a town that I never heard of. I had to google it to see where it is. Turns out, according to the profile she lives in a remote community in Northern Ontario. Just for kicks I sent "her" a letter and she replied right away. Hmm. Could this be a real connection for me? "She" replied by telling me that she was happy to hear from me and wanted to get to know me. Within 5 messages she tells me that she is currently living in Nigeria and could use a few dollars to help her with groceries until her next pay check. How did I reply to that? I banned her.

9. What do you mean I can't change my personal information?
Do you want to change your username, well, PAY UP. Yeah, even information on your personal profile page cannot be changed unless you pay a monthly fee.

10. Hey lady, you're a dog.
You would think that profile would have photos of the person who is looking to meet you, right? Think again. On POF you will find profile photos of dogs, cats, horses, shoes and somebodies lunch. This is how the women attract a man on this site. How do you take somebody like that seriously?

11. I can't send you a letter because of what?
I have always suspected that POF has fake profiles and I believe this last example will support that suspicion. You will at times send a letter to a woman and discover that she will not accept letters UNLESS, you upgrade your account. What does that mean exactly. You must first agree to spend a monthly fee for additional features that you don't need at all. Oh, hold on here. What possible reason does that woman have to insist that YOU first pay an additional fee for your membership in order that you can contact her? What does she get out of this? NOTHING. Is she trying to tell you that to have the honor of contacting her you must first prove that you're frivolous with your money and that you'll do anything it takes to send her a letter even if it means she'll ignore you? Possibly, but I'm now convinced there is a darker reason. No sane person would think this way so that leaves us with only one possible explanation. POF has countless fake profiles which motivate you to spend money for a feature you do not need in order to contact a phantom member who does not exist. If this is not criminal behavior then you tell me what is? This is another example where POF goes out of its way to ignore you about these issues. I've attached a screenshot below to prove this point.

12. Photos are ripped from other sites. It's interesting when you stop and examine the woman's profile. The average number of photos per profile is 2 but many have only 1. Here is the dirty part. When you look at the photos they clearly are professional shots. Most of the profiles with 1 photo have a very deceptive profile. The woman clearly looks like she's in her mid 20's, BUT, posts her age as 50. I am now fully convinced that POF allows fake profiles to saturate their site to attract men and that is the scam.

Final thought. Perhaps it's time for POF to change its name to POS.

I think 11 examples are sufficient to give you an idea of what this site is all about.
Everything about POF is a scam. This site exists only to extort money from your pocket and nothing more.
Please, save your money because this site does not deliver anything except frustration.

Match.com Charged my account without permission after I quit my subscription

I have been gone from Match for over a year and then I got a charge on my account for $130. I don't want to have my cc take it off because I have a lot of auto payments on this card and would have to do all of them over again to get the charge taken off and then get a new card.

They don't have a phone number to talk to a real person, they make you go to your old account and re-activate the account and then click a button to end your subscription and take the charge off, but no confirmation goes anywhere so you just have to wait to see if they took care of it. Nothing yet taken off my account. Why don't they have a customer service number? Because they are shady!

Claimed loss: $130.31

Desired outcome: Reverse the charges and don't bother me again!

Match.com Match.com subscription

I have been a paying member of Match.com off and on for years. I have never had problems until now. Just a few days after signing up again, my account was banned for somehow “violating the terms and conditions.” I work for the federal government and get background checked regularly by the FBI, why would I EVER do anything inappropriate on a dating app? It’s absolute insanity. This company offered absolutely no explanation, and informed me that if I attempted to make another account, I would again be terminated. I can’t believe this company exists. I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism and unwillingness to actually investigate my appeal, look at whether I actually was inappropriate or not by asking whoever reported me for actual evidence, etc. I am beside myself with how violating this whole experience has become.

Match.com Renewal

I've been a customer with Match now for quite some time and sadly it's not working for me. Always around renewal time I get an increase in the amount of visitors and once I've let my subscription expire have an unusual amount of women "liking" me. I always relent and resubscribe and find that almost all the ones liking me have been suspended by the moderators.

I'm suggesting that these people didn't actually exist and that Match. Com are acting fraudulently. I don't want to be a member of this organisation anymore and demand my money back and the cancellation of my subscription.

I will report this to whoever it takes to get what I want.

Claimed loss: £9.99

Desired outcome: Return of money and cancelation of subscription

Match.com The online dating service

Last month, Match, for some reason, blocked my account and would not give me any information as to why. They seem to have shared that information with other carriers, and now OK Cupoid and Zoosk will not allow me to join. I had been a paying member, off and on, for 10 years. How can they block me without provocation and then spread the info to other carriers? I want them to reinstate my account and stop maligning my good name and email.

Desired outcome: To reinstate my account and stop influencing other carriers

I was blocked from accessing my account for months. They asked me to answer five questions of which I did and they still would not let me access my account. Camille F. sent me the same repetitious email infiorming me that she would escalate the matter to inquire about having it resolved. I will never use this service again. I contacted my bank to inform them that I wanted a refund since I was not provided the services that I paid for. I also filed a report with the Better Business Bureau. I am going to seek legal cousel. I do not care if I paid five cents or five thousand dollars. It is stil my money. I was informed that I said something inappropriate and that if I continued to do so that they would cance my account. The only thing that I said was that I thought that hunting for game was apathetic. I have every right to my opionion. Other than that I cannot see any reason why they canceled my account.

Match.com Can't sign on, customer service won't help

I am unable to sign into my account, which I paid for! I only had match for about a week. For 3 days now, I am unable to sign it. I get a prompt stating that there is a problem with my account. I have reported to resolution department numerous time, and I just get a generic response about them sending my inquiry to another department. At this point, all the potential relationships I may have started are probably gone as I have no way to access my account. This is unacceptable. I paid for this, I could've gone on a free dating site and had better customer service. At this point, my money has been stolen by Match. This all began on 10/31/23.

Claimed loss: Over $100. I forgot exact amount I paid for this subscription.

Desired outcome: I was either to be able to access my account within the next 24 hours or a full refund and cancel my subscription.

Match.com Being charged and no longer have a recognized account

My account on match was cancelled by me on their website by their own instructions in May. The subscription ended my cancellation on May 5th, 2023. I just received a charge to my credit card. When I went back to Match to cancel again, it does not recognize my email, username or password. Therefore, I have no account. This is fraud at its best. I have no way to speak to a representative because their cues send you back to their site. I have disputed the charge with Citi bank and will continue until someone looks into their practices. I have tried to reset the password with the correct email, then another email and their reset email never comes. They do not recognize my name and birthdate either. Therefore, I have no account.

Desired outcome: I would like to have my money refunded and the charge removed from Citi bank immediately.

I have used Match for 3 years, then decided to stop the service, I now decided to use the site again, I added all my information, added new photos, and then tried to subscribe and active account, only to get a response from Match that they cannot verify my phone number with the email address provided, I was able to a chat with someone from Match online, with the email address I used when account was open, and the same phone number I've had for over 20 years, I have gotten nowhere with Match. I can't remove my photos now that they refused to fix these issues. Using photos of me without consent should be against the law. I don't know if account was terminated. only that Match refused to verify my phone number, and email address.

thank you

I paid $44 for a month. 1 hour later I was deleted Per match. They claim I violated a term of service. They will not tell me what it was (because I didn't), and they are claiming they can't tell me what I did because of Privacy policies? They already have all my information. I want to know what policy was allegedly violated, not who "prospectively" said anything. It was my first hour. I hadn't said more than "Good morning" and "how is your week so far", to anyone! I have emails showing all of this including "Snipping tools" pictures of the website messages.

Desired outcome: I need an explanation, and/or my money back. Which or both will be predicated on the Burden of proof resting on Match.com as i just paid nearly $50 for a month, of which I received less than an hour.

Match.com Match.com Review: Disappointing Results, Harassment, and Terrible Customer Service

I decided to give Match a try in February 2018 and signed up for a three-month subscription. The free version didn't have all the features I was looking for, so I decided to pay the $75 for three months. I had heard great things about the dating site and was excited to see what it had to offer.

As soon as I created my profile, which clearly stated that I was seeking men between the ages of 24-30, I started receiving messages from old men and even women. I was extremely disturbed by this and immediately blocked these profiles. I continued searching for someone who met my two minimum requirements, but was disappointed with the results.

After a few days of opening up my messages and being horrified, I decided to call their customer service line for help. I wanted tips on how to avoid these harassing messages from men three times my age. Unfortunately, the customer service representative told me that there was nothing they could do after I put in my requirements. Any man or woman could still message me despite my very clear preferences.

I was extremely disappointed and asked to cancel my subscription and get a refund since I had only used the service for less than a week at that point. Gabriel, the customer service representative, said that he could issue a refund for the 2 months I didn't use yet. However, I pushed for the full three-month refund because I was so disappointed after giving it a chance for just a few days. Gabriel said that it was past the two-day return policy and that I signed the terms and conditions.

I was frustrated and explained that I signed the terms and agreements because Match promised to give me a selection of men under 30. They didn't fulfill this promise, so it would only be fair for me to get my money back. Gabriel proceeded to tell me that he was disconnecting our call and then he hung up on me. I was shocked and felt disrespected.

I called back and spoke with Jone, but she wasn't helpful either. She told me that there was nothing on my account to reflect Gabriel's promise and that she couldn't give me a refund. I was so frustrated with the customer service I was receiving that I ended the call abruptly.

I decided to call back and speak with a supervisor about Gabriel and Jone. I spoke with Benny, who told me that customer service agents can hang up on customers and that since it was past the second day of the purchase, he wouldn't be able to give me even a partial refund.

I was extremely disappointed with Match. They lied to their customers, didn't provide profiles that were relatively close to what I was looking for, and had the most despicable customer service representatives I have ever encountered. I was harassed by users, disrespected by their staff, and taken advantage of financially after paying $75 for one week's use. I feel like this company is a scam and would not recommend it to anyone.
