Magazine Warehouse Swindled and lied to by con man over cell-phone. Rude behavior received when contacting company at [protected].

Magazine Warehouse: Oder Reference Number: 1111119
When contacting Magazine Warehouse I received a very rude response and was ignored when I raised issues about the con man that lied to me to promote is sells pitch. Matter like making the offer seemed low price with is only $3.40 per week. Also telling me as soon as our conversation was over he would send me the free watched offered. This never happened. Instead I had to deal with the company. Which wanted additional information like my Social Security Number. I started receiving magazines I didn't request and had no interest in. Finally upon receiving proper magazines. I didn't like or enjoy the odd titles I never heard of.
I'm a responsible in individual that pays is debts. But it rubs me the wrong way when I feel like I've been swindle, lied to, and receive rude behavior. Like, we have you by the short hairs and there's nothing you can do about it. In short I'm willing to make a very reduced settlement to close this matter.

Magazine Warehouse Misrepresentation on Solicitation

Sales call stating my name was picked from Visa/Mastercard usage list and winning 3 magazine subscriptions, diamond watch, and name entered into cash drawing. Only needed to purchase 1 additional magazine. Sounded like a good deal, until the confirmation letter came. None of the phone conversation details matched the order confirmation letter. After replaying a recorded conversation of the order on the original phone call, I was confirmed correct. I was told that was the way the publishers took the orders and that the full 5yrs would be honored. I immediately cancelled, with a followup letter of my own. I was told I could not cancel because they paid the publishers upfront and they billed me to repay themselves in 16 payments. Yea right . I said No No that was their problem and the written paperwork would over ride the phone conversation. Basic contract law. All this happened over a period of six days including weekend days from phone to receiving their letter in the mail to sending them back a certified letter. Oh, and the cash drawing was a separate thing not even mentioned in their letter! A sad misrepresentation for sure.

What do you mean when you said you sent them back a certified letter? I got myself into this mess as well, really regret it. It went by so fast and I felt confused by the time I was off of the phone. How did you get out of it?

Got i call saying I have been selected to win a diamond watch from publisher's clearing house. Magazine Warehouse recieving unwanted magazine, won't cancel, wont accept registered letters!!

I have repeatedly sent letters, unclaimed registered letters and phone calls to this company. I have never received the one magazine I did order, have received women's magazines I don't want. I am single 57 yrs old, disabled and I don't want "working woman", us, Prevention, Maxim...etc etc... I called back the same day that they scammed me into a magazine, told them to cancel it, they said I couldn't! Every time they have sent a bill, I have sent it back explaining that I am disabled, on a fixed income, and that I was advised that 43'00 per month for three yrs was too expensive for one magazine, since I can get it over the counter for less.
I have made copies of every note and even the registered unclaimed, letter which I could fax to you is necessary/ I have talked to them on numerous occasions and have only received harassment, and threats of collection action...can you please help?
Sincerely
Jeffrey Cain

If they breached their contract for failing to provide services, you owe them nothing. Take them to small claims for breach to get your money back and for cancelation of the contract.
