KIA Motors Engine only lasted 58,000 miles

Sadly, I was in an accident fall 2023 and my vehicle was totaled, which I was not at fault at. My vehicle was paid off and I had no plans of purchasing a vehicle anytime soon. Being forced into a decision to purchase I researched and researched what would best fit my needs and had great reviews. I landed on a Kia Sportage after reading it was not unheard of to have some cars reach 200,000. I did not purchase a new vehicle it was used. I have owned the vehicle for 3 months and have put less than 500 miles on it when I started to have problems. The Kia was a 2017 so outside of warranty. Work was done at a Kia shop thinking I would be able to get assistance or Kia would stand by a product they made. I was quoted $15,000 for a new engine. I opened a Kia case number and was told that this was outside of warranty, and it was essentially my issue. No assistance was offered. When asked why Kia wouldn't stand by their product and this engine only had 58,000 miles, I was told on repeat your outside the warranty. I didn't own the car when there was a warranty, I've owned it for 3 months. I'm sure it won't do me any good but I am opening a complaint with Federal Trade Commision. Should this make it to anyone's desk at Kia, feel free to give me a call and let me know why you wont stand behind one of your products that has less than 60,000 miles!

KIA Motors Why does Kia's motors have problems after 100000 miles

Was a pround owner of a Kia Cadenza . Bought car with 14000 miles and have never had an issue great looking car drove better than advertised. Until recently when hoses to the radiator started leaking so no problem just replace the hoses and keep driving. Problem was that there was oil in the radiator finding its way in . This car only has 124000 miles on it and runs perfect after taking it to 2 different mechanics the unanimous decision is it needs a rebuilt or new motor which rebuilt there is a possibility that can't find all the parts and to buy a new one would cost in the range of 8000 dollars grant it I can still drive the car and hardly even know its on due to how quiet this engine runs . To find out I gotta give up on this car has prompted me to never buy another Kia product ever.Cause this is a common issue with there engines guess that why the are the only car manufacturers that offer 100000 miles or ten years

KIA Motors customers service suckse

first I made an appointment for 1/25/2024 at Burlington Kia New Jersey. at 11am for a full service I have 144,555 miles on my car. so what ever it needs. I also asked them to look at the locks, when its cold out they do not unlock please do this in the morning so you can see well. With out calling me they decided to due my whole service this morning, well it would have been ok but I have know way to get my car now. I'm outside the deliver area.

This is upsetting because, I have a Disabled daughter hope nothing happens.

You walk into the service area and everyone looks mad no one says Hello I have never been so disgusted in my 20 years of owning a KIA at a service appointment.

Then I need new tires on my car I was one of the very last customers 10 years ago to get free tires for life as long as I own my car. and they are CORRODED and at a number 3. so I'm told your policy is at a # 2 to get new tires. That is unexpectable I'm slipping and no Traction this is unsafe .

I'm telling you right now I WILL NEVER BUY a KIA again... Burlington, NJ Kia has gone down hill ever since after COVID. they changed all the people that Actually gave a crap about there customers. I used to bring Dunkin Donuts and sandwiches for lunch.

This car is useless, had it for 2 months now the battery is dead, the hands freee doesn't wotk. Kia help line is useless, brand new sportage broke down In helena montana in 37 below weather. Kia help line worthless. Oh just tow it 117 miles? Oh and then what? Then i found that they charged me for a worthless warranty. I tried to ask for a factory rep. Refused to give me that info. The dealer refuses to call back. This car has turned into a nightmare. God I want my Rouge back

KIA Motors Great customer care

I would like to thank Prisantha from Kia Durban, KE Masinga road, for the great service I received.

I have called three other dealerships and she was the only one that phoned me back in less than 5 min of leaving my number. I have not received any other call backs!

I will going forward make it a point to return to Durban Kia for my services although they are a bit out of my way just because of the service that the branch and their employees extend to their customers.

I'm on number 4 and I still havent got my call back. Kia is the worst car I have ever bought. The dealer doesn't call back yes its GEE automotive. They refuse to give me the number of the factory representative. Car is 2 months old already worthless battery dead in 37 below helena and kia answer to just tow it 117 miles. Are you kidding

KIA Motors KIA XCeed hybrid Iceland

Hi !

I have been living legally in Iceland for over 4 years.

Before deciding to buy a new car, I did a LOT of research and decided to buy a KIA XCeed hybrid (plate number MLH37).

I DECIDED to trust in the QUALITY of KIA and (I HOPED) in the PROFESSIONALISM of ASKJA.IS (for the part of Technical Assistance and Manufacturer's Warranty Insurance for my car).

PLUS, because I have always wanted my cars to run and look IMPECABLE, I have on two occasions bought products for my car from ASKJA (KIA, HONDA and MERCEDES Representative in Iceland).

Because the KIA Connect App installed in my phone showed me a warning regarding the 12V Battery on the car, I made an appointment at KIA/ASKJA to check the car on October 18th, 2023 at 08:00 (photo named KIA_APPOINTMENT)

I showed up on the scheduled appointment with the car in an IMPACABLE condition, and AFTER they checked my car, which lasted about 85 minutes (during which time from the ShowRoom I witnessed the intervention on the car) I found that the inner trunk support was damaged (as seen in the photos named 1, 2, and 3).

I addressed the person at the Office to whom I handed the car key at 08:00, asked him to take note of the damage and his response was INCREDIBLE:

"I DON'T THINK THE DAMAGE IS CAUSED BY ASKJA! HOWEVER, I WILL CHECK THE RECORDINGS AND I WILL CALL YOU TOMORROW”.

The next day (October 19th) I got a call, I was told that: 3 DEVICES WERE PUT IN THE TRUNK, THEY WERE LEFT THERE WHILE THE 12V BATTERY WAS CHARGING, BUT STILL... HE DOES NOT BELIEVE THAT ASKJA WAS THE ONE CAUSING THE DAMAGE.

I have requested the car to be returned to Technical Assistance, have those devices put back in the trunk to be able to verify together IF THE SHAPE OF THESE CORRESPOND TO THE TRACES (THE DAMAGE) PRODUCED IN THE TRUNK.

We were TOTALLY refused (my son and myself).

Therefore, following the refusal above, we went to the Police in Reykjavik / Iceland and filed a complaint against KIA-ASKJA and a Criminal Investigation File has been opened for damage to personal property.

AGAIN,

I chose KIA hoping that through the representative in Iceland I would have QUALITY GUARANTEE.

WHAT DID I GET?!

1. The car was taken from the ASKJA car park and brought into the workshop by the mechanic/technician IN WORKING CLOTHES.

WHERE IN Continental Europe (AT LEAST) when a car is picked up by its representatives (mechanics), BEFORE THAT, the very first thing that’s being done is: on the seat, on the steering wheel and on the place where the feet are placed, A PLASTIC PROTECTION IS PUT ON to avoid the car getting dirty while it’s being driven around the workshop and being checked.

AT KIA/ASKJA ... this DOES NOT MATTER!

What standards are you working to?

2. The tailgate of my car opens from the button included in the tailgate.

The ASKJA mechanic came RIGHT IN AND PULLED THE TAILGATE OPEN, then used (I think) the screwdriver and fiddled with the latch (I THINK ... to keep it open).

On the evening of October 20th, when closing the car, the KIA Connect App showed me the next Alert: 1 for the 12V battery and one for when closing the tailgate (showed in picture 4, 5 and 6).

I repeated 2 times closing/opening it from the button for the warning about closing the tailgate to disappear.

IT’S NOT THE VALUE OF THE DAMAGE that is most important to me, but:

- THE TOTAL UNPROFESSIONALISM,

- THE TOTAL CONTEMPT and DISINTEREST shown in solving the situation, making me feel at the same time DISCRIMINATED, me not being Icelandic.

When I said I would go to the police, the response I got was: ... "DO IT, GO AHEAD! "

I conclude by asking WHETHER KIA Korea or KIA Europe (with Representation in Germany) approves of such BAD ATTITUDE, such LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, such QUALITY OF INTERVENTION and RESPECT TO THE CUSTOMER... BAD ATTITUDE starting from taking the car from the owner and giving it back.

I wonder IF IT WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE TO BUY A KIA CAR (not because of the quality of the car, but because of WHAT FOLLOWED AFTERWARDS).

I have been a HUGE FAN and owner of ONLY German cars for 13 years.

I have always owned the newest VW Golf models.

My last car in Iceland was a VW Golf 8 GTE hybrid, much more expensive and better equipped than the KIA XCeed.

This fall I decided to make a CHANGE and chose the KIA XCeed.

WAS I WRONG?

KIA Motors 2017 kia sorento

Engine burns through oil. I have to add oil all the time - 2 quarts a week. There is no leak. The exterior rear of the car will not stay clean, it’s burning so much oil. Our mechanic suggests that we “hang in there” in hopes that Kia will recall the engine. We are trying to hang on but we will not likely buy another Kia in the future. This is a big expense for me!

We got delivery of seltos from your dealer/Distributor network Dhigra Motors on dated 3rd March 2024 with certain defect highlighted at the time of delivery as well to Mr Ankul Vashishth (Sales person) . as detail below:

1. Engine check light on

2. Adas cruze control not working.

Above Vehicle was return back to them to get this rectify on immediate basis.

Now till date above issues still not rectified inspite of several request and reminder.

We are struggling to get the vehicle in good condition but no rectification done till today.

KIA Motors Kia sportage

I purchased a vehicle from kia west coquitlam. Had it approximately a week, the more time went on then more I realized I don't like anything about the vehicle. They have a 30 day return policy supposedly. So I contacted them and told them I was unhappy with the vehicle and didn't like it. That's when I was told I can't return it, I'd have to trade it in which would give me double negative equity. So he basically said just keep the vehicle that you paid over 30 grand for and hate. Keep it for a year then bring it in and get what I want. Gee thanks buddy. What a crock. Don't advertise 30 day returns if you don't intend on honoring it. I also feel like there is something wrong with the vehicle.its shifts very hard and I can feel that sometimgnis not right underneath. I wish I had just stayed with the original dealer I was going to. I will never purchase from these guys again!

Desired outcome: Want them to honor their 30 day return policy so I can get a vehicle I like and that is working properly.

KIA Motors Recall on vehicle not able to get repaired.

I have been trying to get the recall on my vehicle checked and/or repaired. The dealership has said there isn't a fix. Also, I can't get them to call me back or speak to me directly. I am retired and this is my only vehicle. The VIN is KNDCB3LCXL5400184. I have called Burt Ogden Kia in Harlingen, TX and Mike Shaw Kia in Corpus Christi, TX due to that is where I purchased the vehicle.

It has been months since I first began trying to rectify the recall.

I am at a loss as to what to do next.

KIA Motors My 2021 kia k5

I was just informed that my 2021 kia k5 will need to have the wiring harness replaced due to a corrosion with the connector to the egr value. 1st I feel the dealership is trying to take advantage of me. It is very hard to believe that a car 3 yrs. Old that has been kept in a garage will need the wiring harness replaced. This started with a warning service light. The cost of the repair is 5400.00.

KIA Motors Hatch door

The hatch door on my 2021 kia seltos the struts fail to work and the hatch door falls down after opening and hits people in the head. Only 18000 on my car. I am a senior and do not go alot. Why has the struts on the door stopped working and the repair shop wants over 150.00 to repair when they should be on warrantee. Please advise. KIA Motors 2016 Kia Soul EV+

Our car ar broke down almost 7 weeks ago on Jan 12, the dealer could not give us an appointment until Feb 1, 3 weeks later.

The car could not be diagnosed locally so they sent report to Kia America, they also don’t know what the problem is or how to fix it.

I’ve called 4 times (they don’t return calls) and they claimed to have escalated the problem but there still hasn’t been any progress, it’s still “waiting in the queue”.

We have paid over $2500 thus far in rental costs of which only part will be reimbursed about 8 weeks after car has been fixed…theoretically.

This has been both an emotional and financial burden and extremely frustrating. We’ve been without our car for almost 7 weeks now with no information as to when it might be repaired and no loaner car to use in the meantime.
