Internet Cash Machines (ICM) review: Unauthorized credit card charges 16

Their ad describes local area residents (wherever you happen to live) who make thousands of dollars each month. The testaments all false of course make it sound all too good to be true which is the truth. One actually admits to it not being totally free, just $2.97 to get a package in the mail with instructions on how to get started. That much is true. What was not mentioned was that my card was charged another $139.95. No button to click. No check box. No notice that your card would be charged. No nothing. I logged on to my bank's website and saw the two charges. That was the first clue I had that 'something was up'. I called my bank immediately, contested the charge and cancelled my card to prevent further unauthorized charges. I called the company and was quite honestly surprised to get an answer. The rep pleaded with me to give it a chance but I insisted on a refund. I was offered a partial refund instead. So far, my bank has not charged my account pending an inquiry.

Their "corporate address" is: 26741 Portola Parkway Suite 912
Foothill Ranch, California 92610

This was given to me today after a lengthy battle with being hung up on over and over and dealing with all the headache that you guys have listed as well. Now whether or not that is the REAL address...they haven't been truthful with me yet, so who knows.

The same thing just happened to me. I just got off the phone with their rude customer service rep and they refuse to give me a refund. I thought I was signing up for something that was $2.97 too but without any notification they charged my account $149.95. I see that some of you mentioned something about a "getting started kit". What is that? I never even received that at all. You know what the funny part is? When you call them, they have on their recording, "if you are past your 3 day trial and want to cancel press 5" then you hold while they get some argumentative person on the phone to try to explain to you why you're not getting your money back then still try to convince you to give it a try for 3 months. It's like they know that people who were not aware that there was a 3-day trial before they charge you $149.95 will be calling to cancel. When that's one of their phone options, that's a sign. I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I am going to report them to every rip off website I know and to the BBB.

Yup same results as everyone signed up for $2.97 only to find out later that they had fraudulently used my CC # to with draw $149.95 from my bank when I tried to contact someone with any authority (if there is such a person) I was answered in a very rude and unprofessional manner by one of there supposed reps that I would have to call back when he is available I did so and to no surprise received the same rude manner and again the same answer. This scam organization must be and can be stopped before more unsuspecting people fall victim to there unsavory business practices I have contacted our local attorney general consumer complaint department and the better business complaint department and filled a compliant against ICM website co. I suggest that all of you especially those listed above do the same.

I of course had the same experience as all of you, and cant find the website anymore. Talked to a rep, they were rude and I was mad. I asked to speak to a supervisor was told to wait then told there wasn't one around and I would have to call back the next day. They have called to try and get me to make up the money they stole by getting into the business and making the money back. I hope someone can find them and get them back for their fraud. They have a nice set up going. You might not sign up for it or open your supposed website package, thinking if you don't do that then you haven't okayed the transaction and are only waiting for info coming by mail to decide if you want to do it, bang then they charge the big numbers 139.95 to your bank card after 3 days of something you never opened or signed for. Great scam for them.

I called yesterday and spoke with a rep who told it was free, except for $2.97. I went on the website and saw that there would be a $139.95 charge. I called back today and cancelled. I have not seen any charges on my credit card yet. What a scam! Something need to be done. I am going to turn the into the BBB tomorrow.

I had the same problem. I agreed to the $2.97 to check out the information assuming then I would have to sign up for something else. Nope. I didnt even go to their website nor did i talk to anyone on the phone. I had a second thought and did a google search and found out the sham and all the problems so I turned right around and opted out - got a cancellation e-mail and a cancellation number but the $139.95 charge had already hit my bank account (Visa Debit Card). My bank (Bank of America!) said I had to wait and if the charge was not removed by Thursday then I should call them back. They did say that if the ICM people would fax them a void transaction they could remove it. I dont trust ICM to wipe my feet (or other parts) let alone actually send a fax to the proper number.

I agree they MUST BE STOPPED and we need to make it VERY uncomfortable for them. I wonder if I can get the IRS involved? At the very minimum this is banking fraud.

Just received my CC statement today and saw where ICM had charged my account for $139.95. Contacted company and spoke with two Reps. I think first rep hung up but I called back. Comments from both was that I missed price in Terms & Agreement. I payed $2.97 to get information in the mail which I didn't nor did I receive an e-mail from them. According to them if you didn't cancel in 3 days you would be charged. There was nothing to cancel, I had nothing. They offered to let me you system, answer is "NO", do not want to deal with such a company. Something MUST BE DONE! I'm going to write CA and my state.

These ICM people would sell their own mothers to make a buck. We need to find the head of this gang of crooks, go pick him up, make him strip, then throw him out of the car on the streets of harlem. Have someone write on his back with spray paint, the following:
"I hate ###s" Whatdayathink?

Are there any real people out there that had any real results with this company?
Are there any real online money makers out there?
Why should we have to pay a company $ to do a job? They should be paying us! Right?

Well guess what! I just got off the phone with the rep also. He said I should have read the disclaimer... it told me my account would be charged 139.95. Of course I didn't see it until I got my bank statement. I also never got an email and opt out of the next page when it asked me for by bank account info. My husband received several phone calls from someone wanting to charge his credit card for $500.00 dollars to set up a website, he told them twice NO...the third time he was very stern and told them not to call back. The lady told him he didn't have to be so ugly, he told her it was very upsetting for someone to continue to call when he had already told them twice, he wasn't interested and to leave him alone...The rep I talked to today was very rude, and told me there were no complants about this company at all either on the site or BBB, they were a very respectful company and he checked the BBB as we were onthe phone and then advised me, "See I told you no complaints on our company". I asked him did I sound that stupid that I thought he would check and tell me if there were any complaints. I asked for a supervisor, his comments were "sure, but you still are not going to get a refund...but I'll put you on the call back list". I also told him there was not a local person with the name on the advertisement in our area, they claimed that was making so much money. He then asked where did you look in the phone book, maybe they were not listed...I said know I have connections all over our area and took it to an attorney that is a friend and he enjoyed looking it up for me... but several comments that said all they paid was $2.97 to start making big bucks...was also on the same page...I thought when I signed up that $2.97 wasn't going to make me or break me just to find out ...We all learn by our mistakes, but I'm still waiting on the Supervisor's call...Yea Right...I will call my bank and make sure nothing else is going to be drawn out of my account...

I too was a victim of this internet scam. Lucky for me my bank has agreed to reimburse the $139.95 into my account. I have tried contacting this ICM websites and have been unsuccessful. I have never received anything by mail or even an email from this company. Beware of the interenet scams! These people have to be stopped..

TOTALLY AGREE! I went to site at my husband's insistance to "at least see what it's about" and ended up paying not only the $2.97 charge we agreed to but also a $139.95 charge. When we called the company they said when I agreed to the "Terms and Agreements" I agreed to have our account charge the $139.95 if we did not "cancel" it within 3 days! How are we going to cancel what we never actually signed up for? We're filing a dispute so we'll see what happens.
