Hulu Mixed Feelings About Hulu

As a regular user of Hulu, I have had a mixed experience with the service. While the range of TV shows and movies available is impressive, the overall user experience leaves much to be desired. The constant ads, technical glitches, and poor customer service have been major pain points for me. It's frustrating when the app crashes repeatedly, or when you encounter errors that prevent you from enjoying your favorite shows. Additionally, the frequency of commercials, especially during crucial moments in a show, can be quite annoying. Despite these drawbacks, Hulu still offers a decent selection of content, but improvements are needed to enhance the overall viewing experience.

Hulu Very easy site to watch free T. V

Very easy site to watch free T. V. The streams are fast and clear, I rarely have any issues with the picture or sound skipping (and frankly even when i do it's likely bcuz i'm doing 5 other things on my computer). They don't have every episode for most shows, at least the more popular ones. They seem to rotate which ones they're offering, sometimes with only a handle available for any given show. If the show's still airing they usually have the latest episodes up within a a day or 2. I'd definately recommend Hulu if your stranded somewhere with your laptop with nothing to do :)

Hulu Hulu is the Best

Hulu is very nice. I enjoy all the movies/shows that Hulu has to offer. The commercials are short & to the point. And I actually got a couple of items from the commercials they have. Hulu has variety of shows and movies for all ages and all kinds to fit the seasons. My wife & I watch Hulu a lot. On a raining day or a snowy day, Hulu provides us our entertainment when we can't go outside. Thanks Hulu & keep up the good work. If anyone complains about Hulu they have no clue what they are talking about nor do they appreciate good service. It definitely beats that 200 dollar bill other services try to get you on for two years that's not affordable. Hulu is the Best.

Hulu Since the first time I visited Hulu, I was skeptical

Since the first time I visited Hulu, I was skeptical that one website that doesn't "look like" it's owned by some network, which means that it would be somewhat impossible to host a variety of TV and movie content for free. So it was free and... after watching Family Guy and The Simpsons... a LOT of it, Hulu became an everyday part of my life. I don't need TV anymore because of Hulu. It has infected my mind with pure entertainment!

So now, I have Hulu Plus... for $7.99/mo, it's pretty much the rent for a site that's pretty much like a room full of every season of my favorite TV shows that I can take around with me on my iPhone!

I never knew such a site... a dream... could be as incredible as Hulu... and I'm even happier with Hulu Plus adding to it!

Hulu Love Hulu, but beware of scammers

Customer Service was very helpful and caring about my complaint.
I received calls from people who sounded like "South Asian" people who spoke poor English, Pretending to be Hulu support and wanted me to download the "AnyDesk" app from the App Store if you had an iPhone. They also wanted me to open the "Cash App" if I had one to verify my bank account, I said "No" and they hung up. I reported them to Hulu and they in turn notified authorities. So beware of scammers trying to steal your personal information. I have and love Hulu, but this calls made me think about how easy it seemed for these people to obtain precious and valuable information from unsuspecting clients. Be aware, hulu will never ask you to download apps or open your personal apps. 04.02.23.

Hulu Definitely for sports lovers!

We switched to Hulu because we stayed in a camper for a short time between closing on houses. We decided to never go back to regular cable. My husband and I love sports and there is never a shortage. For example, college football... Hulu plays even the smaller school games like Northern iowa vs South Dakota. For the base price, Hulu provides all the normal basic cable channels plus a few more for a good price. Since we didn't have good internet service while in the camper, we know that you don't need top speeds to watch Hulu. After approximately 6 months, I have no complaints. However, we have all newer smart TVs and use antennas as well so we can easily switch back and forth. Hulu does provide a couple local channels, but we like having the option of all local.

Hulu During this time of recovery from an economic downturn

During this time of recovery from an economic downturn, people are saving money and have become more frugal than ever before. Many people have cut back on the luxury items and only focused on obtaining the necessities. Going to the movies with high priced tickets and popcorn was a luxury that many people cut back on.

As we began to embrace these cut backs we put together a list of websites to watch movies and/or tv on to little or no cost. We kept in mind a number of things such as affordability, reliability, clarity, and much more. This site is effective? It is very easy to navigate and to use. The pros is that it is free and user friendly, the con is that they charge for Hulu Pro but it is still affordable. The purpose of the website is to watch tv shows or movies online for free. I would you definitely recommend this website to a friend.

Hulu As movie stores, such as Blockbusters and Movie Galleries

As movie stores, such as Blockbusters and Movie Galleries, are becoming slim to none in existence, many people have resorted to online options to watch movies. Many people prefer the online option to view their movies because it is often times free or cheaper than renting one at a store. Also having to be home or near a tv at the exact time your favorite tv series airs its newest episode is no longer an issue with these web 2.0 tools since they have both movies and tv episodes for their users. This instant availability has definitely been a major pro for users and is probably one of the main reasons movie stores are going out of business.
I found three web 2.0 sites that people can use to watch their favorite tv shows and movies. I took into account the websites' affordability, accessibility, reliability, and more to create my reviews. Hulu's website is very aesthetically pleasing. The website is organized in a logical and concise manner so that the user can find what they are looking for in a minimal amount of time. There are some episodes and movies that Hulu allows you to watch for free by simply signing up and creating a username and password. However a con is that most of the episodes and movies you have to subscribe to HuluPlus in order to watch which contains a small monthly fee of $7.99. A pro for HuluPlus is that once you subscribe to the monthly fee you can watch unlimited movies and episodes. I would definitely recommend this website to someone.

Hulu Hulu Review: Pros and Cons of the Streaming Service

Hulu is a streaming service that has been around for quite some time now. There are some things that I like about Hulu, but overall, I don't think it's a very good service. Let me explain why.

One of the things that Hulu does well is that they have new content and live TV. This is something that sets them apart from their competitors. They get new content soon after it's released, and if you pay a high price, you can watch some things live. I think that's pretty cool.

However, there are some things about Hulu that I don't like. For one, they have commercials. I mean, seriously, a streaming service with commercials? That's counter-productive. People use streaming services to avoid commercials, but Hulu has a lot of them. They're even more annoying than watching satellite TV. I think it's greedy of them to make us watch commercials every five minutes. Maybe one commercial per video would be okay, or something like YouTube advertisements, which are pretty fantastic. But this is too much.

Another thing that really bothers me about Hulu is that they only let you watch on one device at a time. If my brother is watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I should be able to watch This is Us on another TV. This is counter-productive to the idea of a streaming service. I should be able to stream from several sources at the same time. This is just a greedy way to make people pay more money for a decent product experience.

Finally, there are the Hulu Originals. This could be a pro if you agree with their content, but I don't. I think they're too liberal. They made a film that was negative towards Ronald Reagan. That's just ridiculous. You can see a lot of other Hulu Originals following suit with liberal and socialist beliefs, such as LGBT rights and even a little bit of weird anti-Christian stuff. I don't think this is a good thing.

Overall, I'm not an expert critic or anything, but there are a couple of reasons that will sometimes draw me to watch Hulu because of the new content they have. But as you can read, I am anti-Hulu all the way.

Hulu Disney's Shady Business Practices: A Review of the Hulu/Disney+ Bundle Deal

So, I heard about this Hulu/Disney+ bundle deal with ads for only $2 and I was excited to switch over on December 8th when it became available. However, when I tried to make the switch, I was told that I couldn't do it until the end of the month when my current Disney+ without ads subscription was up. This seemed strange to me because I was already seeing ads on my account. When I asked where on my account it showed the end date of my subscription, the customer service representative refused to answer and avoided the question the entire time.

To make matters worse, when I declined to cancel my current add-on and wait until my billing cycle was up to make the switch, they went ahead and cancelled it without my permission. When I asked them to turn it back on immediately, they said they couldn't and that I would have to wait until my billing cycle was up to add the new add-on.

But here's where things get really shady. According to this link on the Hulu help page, the Disney+ (No Ads) Add-on is no longer available for purchase. However, existing subscribers who bought the add-on before it was discontinued will be able to keep it as long as they do not cancel their plan or remove the add-on. This is why they need to cancel people's add-ons behind their backs without their permission.

And it gets even worse. This link from December 8th confirms that Roku and Microsoft desktop users will not be able to stream the Hulu/Disney+ with ads when their billing cycle ends. This is absolutely disgusting behavior from Disney. They are forcing the majority of households to upgrade their subscriptions because they know that Microsoft and Roku streamers have the Hulu/Disney+ with ads. And to make matters even worse, you can only upgrade on the Disney website and have to auto-debit your PayPal or credit card because they don't accept gift cards.

I am so disappointed in Disney. As a kid, I always had respect and love for Disney, but as an adult, I have discovered that they care about nothing but money. It's very sad. I am shutting off my Disney+ subscription as of now, and I hope that other Roku and Microsoft households will band together and live without Disney+ for long enough to get Disney to understand that they only become a giant with the help of our money. We created this monster, and we can deprive it of what keeps it alive - money.

Hulu Hulu's Customer Support Needs Improvement: A Frustrating Experience

Hulu is a company that has a lot of customers, but their customer support is not always reliable. I had an issue where I couldn't add an add-on to my Hulu account, and I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a customer support representative who couldn't help me. I tried using different browsers and operating systems, but nothing seemed to work. The representative told me that they couldn't solve my problem, but I should keep trying. They also said that they could add the add-on for me, but they never did.

The representative suggested that the issue might have something to do with location services. I checked my location, and it was correct. However, I was using an operating system that wasn't Windows, which is apparently the best system for Hulu. The representative said that there might be something wrong with the Windows software, but they couldn't find any references to this issue going back three years.

We also discussed why Hulu only provides west coast feeds for 1/3 of their channels in the Mountain Time Zone. The representative said that it was done by time zone, and they couldn't provide east feeds for technical reasons. I suggested that they offer a no local option, but they said that I had to have locals. They also said that it was a server issue, but I pointed out that streams were available anywhere in the country. The representative didn't believe me and cut me off, even though they admitted that they were new on the job.

Hulu has deactivated their online chat capability, so expect a long wait to talk to a person. It's like trying to talk to a mainstream cable or satellite provider. It's frustrating that big media companies still think in a 1980s mindset.

I only subscribe to Hulu because FS1, FS2, BTN, and NBC Sports Network are only available through a provider. Hulu doesn't carry the RSNs for Denver, and neither do most providers. However, I've found other ways to get the east feeds through apps like Philo, the SyFy app, and the FX app. I need a VPN for the NBC Universal channels, but it's worth it. I also use the Fox Sports App and the ESPN+ app to watch sports anywhere. These apps work for now, but I'm worried that Hulu will figure out a way to block them.

Overall, Hulu has some issues with customer support and location services, but there are ways around them. It's frustrating that big media companies still have a 1980s mindset, but there are alternatives to cable and satellite providers.

Hulu Hulu's Lack of Device Support and Customer Service Disappoints Paid Customers

I had a really bad experience with Hulu. I've been a customer for years, but today when I tried to open the app on my old iPad, it wouldn't work. I tried to update it, but it wouldn't let me. Then I tried to access my account through the iPad browser, but it wouldn't let me use the account that I pay for. I contacted customer service, but they weren't very helpful. They told me that my iPad model was no longer supported, and offered me a credit for the inconvenience. But I didn't want a credit, I wanted access to the account I pay for. So I asked to speak to someone with more authority, but they told me that the credit would be revoked if I insisted on speaking to a higher level person. I decided that being able to actually use the service I pay for was more important to me than a credit for said service if it was unusable.

I then spoke to a level 2 CSR, who told me that I needed to purchase a brand new device if I wanted to continue to use the service because they no longer service the app for my iOS. I said I understood about the app, but that I should be able to access my account from a browser as an alternative. But Hulu is somehow different from all other streaming sites, and they wouldn't let me access my account from the browser. They kept referring me to a list of supported devices, but I don't care what devices they recommend. If my device can stream video from every other streaming site on the internet, it should be able to stream from Hulu too.

I don't think I should have to go out and buy a new $600 iPad just to run their app because they refuse to let people access their accounts from the mobile browser. The tech device boom of the early '00s is over. People aren't standing in line for days to get the newest iPhone or tablet anymore. People aren't upgrading their "play" devices the second a new one comes out anymore. Hulu needs to have a secondary access option for people that pay for their service that have devices older than a toddler. It's not fair that they're preventing me from streaming the content that I pay for just because they've decided my device isn't the newest or trendiest one.

Overall, I'm really disappointed with Hulu. Their customer service wasn't helpful, and they're blocking access from mobile browsers even for paid accounts. They need to upgrade their own technology or provide an alternative access option for people with older devices.

Hulu Hulu Review: Frustrating App, Limited Customization, and Poor Customer Service - Switched to Sling TV for Better Experience

Been using Hulu for a couple of years now and I must say, it's not the best streaming service out there. The app has become less and less usable over time. I share my login with someone else but they can't use the live TV feature on their smart TV. It's frustrating that there are no options to allow this. The app has always been sluggish but it's gotten worse with time. Recently, when you click on a show to watch, you have to click the play button again for the show to actually start. It's annoying and it didn't use to be this way. The live TV feature includes a 'my channels' option but you can't add channels to it. It just doesn't work. I have to regularly close the app or switch between screens for it to work properly again. Even when I watch live TV, I have the same problem. The channel begins paused instead of playing live TV. The price keeps going up and there's not enough customization of packages.

I decided to try Sling TV and I must say, it's a better option. I was able to customize my package to give me more than what Hulu did at half the cost. Hulu includes AMC in their live TV package but you can't watch The Walking Dead or Fear the Walking Dead. It's frustrating that you're paying for the channel but you can't watch everything that's on the show. They show you thumbnails of the shows but you can't actually watch them.

I tried to submit a complaint and feedback on Hulu.com but I couldn't log in or use the site because Hulu wants to invade my privacy and force me to turn on location settings. I understand that this is for the local channels to work properly but it should only happen when I click to watch live TV, not just to log in and use the site. It's frustrating that there's no way to submit feedback directly to their customer service. They have 'idea' tickets for others to vote on but it's not the same as giving direct feedback.

I canceled my subscription and clicked 'other' as the reason but there was no text box to give them feedback directly. They just offered me one more discount and then told me my subscription has been canceled. It's clear that they don't care about the end user experience.

I switched to Sling TV and it's a no-brainer. I have everything I had on Hulu plus more at half the cost. The package I signed up for includes AMC and I can watch the shows I signed up for the channel for like The Walking Dead. I can even watch it live this Sunday with the rest of the nation instead of having to wait for it to be posted on Amazon Prime the next day. It's a great concept and I don't have to necessarily purchase the next season of The Walking Dead. Thanks, Sling TV!

Overall, I wouldn't recommend Hulu. There are better options out there.

Hulu Hulu Review: Poor Customer Service and Security Risks

Hulu is a streaming service that many people use to watch their favorite shows and movies. However, my recent experience with Hulu has left me feeling disappointed and frustrated.

When I turned on my TV to watch Hulu, I received a message stating that too many devices were already using my account. I was confused because I knew that only a few devices belonged to me. After checking the list of devices on my account, I realized that someone else had been using my account without my permission.

I contacted Hulu's customer service, hoping to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, I was met with unhelpful and unprofessional behavior. The first customer service agent I spoke with was overly cheerful and spoke in circles, repeating the same lines over and over. She even insulted my intelligence at one point, which was completely uncalled for.

When I requested to speak with a floor manager, things only got worse. The manager was snarky and uncooperative, refusing to credit my account for the trouble or help me figure out how my account had been hacked. He even told me that it would take a subpoena to their legal department to find out what had happened.

Overall, my experience with Hulu's customer service was terrible. They showed no concern for my account's security or my satisfaction as a paying customer. I have no plans to continue using Hulu and will be switching to Netflix instead.

If you're considering using Hulu, I would advise you to think twice. Their unsecured system and poor customer service make them a risky choice for streaming your favorite shows and movies.

Hulu Hulu Activation on Verizon Disney+ Bundle: Frustrating Customer Service Experience

I've been dealing with Hulu for over half a year now, trying to activate it on my Verizon Disney+ bundle. Unfortunately, I've spent over 14 hours on the phone with customer service reps, and the issue still hasn't been resolved. While Disney+ and ESPN+ work fine, Hulu just won't activate. I've had both Doug from Verizon and Kathryn from Hulu try to help me, but to no avail. Even a Hulu supervisor named Christine couldn't fix the problem, and she refused to refund all the money I was double charged while Hulu was unable to activate in my Disney+ bundle. It's been a very disappointing experience, and I've given up trying to get it fixed.

Here's a detailed log of my customer service experience:

On January 24th, 2022, Kathryn from Hulu called me and walked me through the basic Hulu activation. She said there was nothing else Hulu could do for me, and a supervisor named Christine credited about half the money I was double charged. I asked Kathryn to contact me if they ever found a fix for my issue, and she agreed to do so.

On January 22nd, 2022, Kathryn from Hulu asked me to conference in Verizon, and we were on hold until 4:13pm. Kathryn said Verizon was trying to activate my account, but they couldn't figure out why my name and birthdate were attached to an email address that ended in .net. She asked me to call Verizon to resolve the problem. George from Verizon answered, and he had me cancel my Disney+ bundle subscription and then reactivate it. We tried to activate Hulu twice on Safari and Chrome, but nothing was fixed, and I still had no access to Hulu.

On October 27th, 2021, I got in the Hulu system for them to call me back, but when they called me back, they hung up.

On September 20th, 2021, Pierre from Hulu said they sent an activation code to an email that ends in .net, and that's why I'm not able to activate it. He said he would ask to give me a code to use Hulu now and to refund one month, but I never received the code.

On August 31st, 2021, Doug from Verizon called me and had me cancel and reactivate Disney+. Mandy from Hulu tried to connect me to a higher level of support, and Carlos from Hulu said another account needs to be deleted, and he's going to send an email to another department.

On July 21st, 2021, Doug from Verizon called me, and DJ from Hulu said I could cancel the two-week subscription on July 30th, and I wouldn't be charged for the two-week subscription. However, nothing was deactivated, and next time, we will ask for a higher level of support immediately.

On July 17th, 2021, Doug from Verizon connected me to Disney, and Richard from Disney said Hulu has an old account linked, and it will be fixed if they can find a linked account, or we can start over by reenrolling in Disney+. We cancelled and set up a new Disney+ account again, but it wouldn't link to Verizon, so we changed the Verizon email. Finally, we cancelled and set up a new Disney+ account again, and Doug from Verizon checked the reference number with Disney+. Daphney from Disney+ said my Disney+ account logins would remain.

On July 16th, 2021, Doug from Verizon and Elijah from Hulu tried to help me for a total of 30 minutes.

On July 14th, 2021, Doug from Verizon called me back as he said he would and said he would call me back at 5pm.

On July 10th, 2021, I spent over 6 hours on the phone with Emily from Verizon, Steven and Jacob from Hulu, Doug from Verizon again, and Tanya from Hulu.

Overall, my experience with Hulu has been frustrating and disappointing. I've spent countless hours on the phone with customer service reps, and the issue still hasn't been resolved. I hope they can find a fix soon, but for now, I've given up trying to get it fixed.

Hulu Hulu Customer Service is a Nightmare: Unauthorized Transactions and Terrible Treatment

I had a terrible experience with Hulu. They kept deducting money from my business bank account for a service I tried to cancel three times over two separate dates. I tried to report and cancel online three times, but Hulu kept the service active for an additional four months! I called customer service today to report the unauthorized transactions (again) and offer help to prevent this from happening again to others. (After seeing they billed me yet again today!) They were defensive from the gate, and eventually they even hung up on me and then kept the service active! They did not cancel it! This was the fourth attempt to cancel this service; three times online, and now a fourth time even over a 45-minute phone call. Zero interest in investigating the issue, and absolutely no desire whatsoever to offer any kind of assistance at all. Mind you, I have photos that prove that what I was reporting is and was certainly 100% factual, but they refused to accept the email with the photos. I kept asking why they wouldn't at least look into the matter, or give me an email address to send the screenshots to, and they just kept saying they will have to disconnect the call and that there was no manager I could talk to and nothing they could or would do to help. Their "resolution" was to refund for one out of the four months they overcharged me for, and that one month was for one day's service as the charge took place today! After being hung up on (the first time) I had to call them back again, and when I asked what I had to do to get this resolved, Hulu "customer service" team told me I am welcome to dispute it with my bank and that this was my fault! I had to call back again and waste two hours, only to get hung up on a second time! I explained I had taken screenshots to prove this and they refused to accept them. They said they didn't even have an email to send the proof to. They lied to me each time by saying they had a manager on the phone only later to admit that I wasn't speaking with a manager or supervisor, and that "managers don't have time to deal with customers." Completely misleading in every possible way from the ads, to the "service". Absolute nightmare trying to get this cancelled and they continue to take money from me!

Leaving their company name out of the equation, any company that practices business in this fashion is a legitimate scam artist. They won't even apologize! On the contrary, they actually blamed me for their indecency and incompetence. Two hours of being treated like a deadbeat and four months of being ripped off. Thank you so much for that. The worst part of all of it is that even after being ripped off for four months, and being hung up on when reporting the unauthorized transactions, they kept the service active! This is no joke, I literally called them to report unauthorized transactions for a service I had tried to cancel a total of three times over two different dates, and was now calling in to report, and they hung up on me, and then kept the service active! This is actually what took place with this company. I even offered to pay for one of the four months with hopes that it would save me time, but nope! They hung up on me a second time! I'm so glad I recorded the phone calls! I will be pursuing this matter directly with the BBB moving forward and will be writing their corporate offices to report. Zero excuse for this type of business practice, and you can't just go ripping people off and then treating them like garbage and bullying them. This is and was morally wrong on so many levels and then to drag me through the mud after being in the wrong just made it so much worse.

If you enjoy being neglected, ripped off, and absolutely disrespected by a company that takes your money, and then tells you to get lost, well then yes, this is the service for you. If not, then you have been warned, stay away from this scam site. I can prove 100% of this.

Hulu Hulu Plus Review: Repetitive Commercials, Limited Content, and Glitchy App

Hulu is a streaming service that has been around for a while now. It has a lot of content, but the selection is not as good as some of the other streaming services out there. The movie choices are abysmal. Their movies are either really old or low budget things you've never heard of. There are some decent documentaries, but no better than what you could get from Netflix.

One of the things that really annoys me about Hulu Plus is that you still have to sit through commercials. Frequently, especially if you're watching multiple episodes of the same show, you'll have to watch the same commercial repeatedly. It's maddening. They list some shows as if they have them to draw people in, but then it turns out they really don't. Sometimes you go to the page for the show and it states straight out they don't actually have it, though I guess they leave it there so it will show up in search results as if they do. Other times, they're just carrying a link to the network site.

Then there's all of the stuff that they can only provide if you have a TV provider to connect. So, you have to be paying a TV provider, paying for Hulu Plus, and still watch the repetitive commercials. If I had a TV provider, wouldn't I just be watching it on TV that way?

The Hulu TV app is not great either. There's regular stuttering. I'm afraid to pause, rewind, or fast-forward because, if it's not already doing it, this seems to trigger it. Sometimes it's so bad that, not only is it unwatchable, but I have to turn the TV off to get it to stop because it won't respond to normal attempts to stop the video. It can't be blamed on issues with the internet connection since 1 episode can play perfectly smooth and the very next one is stuttering to the point of being virtually unwatchable right from the beginning, not to mention that the Netflix app isn't having this problem.

Sometimes it freezes in the middle of the episode altogether. When I restart it, it reverts back either to the beginning of the last chapter or even loses the place completely and starts again from the beginning. If usually forces me to sit through the previous commercials all over again. There's often an excessive loading time before resuming the episode after commercials but, funnily enough, commercials never seem to have a problem.

The online and TV app queues are not fully synced. Shows in my queue online often don't show up in my queue on the app even for shows that are available there if I search for them. Often, new episodes of shows that I have a subscription for aren't showing up in my queue and I have to find them and put them there manually. At other times, it puts episodes I've already watched and removed from my queue back in again, sometimes days later. The order of the queue and subscriptions in the TV app makes no sense. It's not alphabetical, it's not the order they were originally put on, it's not the order I have them in my queue online; it's just a mess.

Finally, the customer support is not great either. Hulu's system couldn't validate my credit card during the sign-up for the 2-week trial. Hulu's website will only provide a phone number to their Hulu Plus subscribers which, obviously, you can't become if you can't sign up. So, I had no other alternative than to send a message to support. Long response times: Days passed with no response. I sent a second message and it still took days to get a response. Canned responses: Eventually, both messages were responded to with the exact same canned response, saying that my card must have restrictions placed on it that prevented online recurring payments. Either don't fully read messages or ignore information contained in them: They continued to insist the problem was due to card restrictions even after I told them the card had no problems being used with anything else, including online recurring payments for Netflix. No resolution: Ultimately, there was no resolution from Hulu support and I had to find my own workaround (used PayPal with the same card). I enjoyed responding to their survey about how my customer service experience had been.

All in all, while Netflix & Hulu Plus don't offer quite the same thing, it's sad that Hulu Plus charges roughly the same as Netflix while providing a far more shoddy and inferior service.

Hulu Hulu is hiring support staff who are unqualified and unethical, and I am not willing to support a business with such

Hulu is hiring support staff who are unqualified and unethical, and I am not willing to support a business with such questionable practices. After speaking with a customer service representative from Hulu, I have come to the conclusion that they are hiring staff who are not qualified and have questionable ethics. As a result, I have decided to cancel my subscription with Hulu, despite being a loyal customer for many years. I recently moved from Chicago, IL to Southfield, MI. When I upgraded to my Hulu Live subscription, my home location was set to Chicago. My roommates, who lived in the same household, used this account. On Monday, I changed my location and was notified that I had three additional changes available. However, when I logged in on Tuesday, I had to change my location again and was informed that I only had one change left. I confronted my roommates about this, but they denied making any changes. At this point, I am unsure if my roommates were lying, if Hulu made an error, or if someone hacked into my account. To be safe, I changed my password in case it was a roommate or a hacker. I reached out to customer support to get more information about what happened, specifically geolocation and timestamp information that I could use to question my roommates. I provided the chat log of my conversation below. When I asked for the geolocation and timestamp information, I was informed that Hulu only captures IP address information, not zip codes. I requested a receipt of the three different IP addresses with a timestamp, but the support representative was unable to provide this information. I am particularly concerned about the following part of the conversation, which is why I have decided to cancel my service: (22m 38s) Visitor: If you are unable to provide this, then I need contact information for someone who can. (22m 57s) *** M: I understand, however, the information only shows that you changed your IP address three times. (23m 23s) Visitor: I want a receipt of those three different IP addresses with a timestamp. (24m 14s) *** M: Please give me 2-3 minutes to check my resources. (24m 31s) Visitor: Thank you. (24m 43s) *** M: You're always welcome! (30m 1s) *** M: Thanks for waiting patiently. (33m 37s) *** M: According to our records, you changed your address from zipcode *** to zipcode *** and then back to zipcode ***. That is the information our Hulu system detected. (33m 56s) Visitor: That's incorrect. (34m 8s) Visitor: My original address is ***. (34m 44s) Visitor: So was it changed from *** to *** back to *** and then back to ***? (35m 55s) *** M: The only zip code we have here is ***. (36m 17s) Visitor: That doesn't make any sense. Please provide the timestamps of those changes. (37m 43s) *** M: I'm sorry, but we are unable to provide you with that information. (38m 26s) Visitor: Then please provide me with the contact information for your manager. Your information does not match anything that can be accurate, so I need this to be escalated immediately. It is clear that the support person from Hulu lied to me. Initially, I was told that Hulu does not capture zip codes, but then the support person provided me with zip codes. Furthermore, the zip codes provided do not make sense, as I just moved to Southfield and no one I know, including my roommates, lives at the zip code mentioned. I understand that data security may prevent the support person from accessing this information, which is why I requested to speak with a manager who may have the ability to address my concerns. Instead of complying with my request, the support person chose to lie to me. While I can understand if they did not have access to the information, I cannot accept being lied to instead of having my concerns escalated and addressed. I sincerely hope that Hulu will improve their customer support and treat their customers with better respect. I was a satisfied customer until this issue occurred.

Hulu Hulu charged me an excessive amount for two unauthorized accounts within the past year

Hulu charged me an excessive amount for two unauthorized accounts within the past year. They did refund me some of the money. I have attached a spreadsheet that shows Hulu billing me for accounts that I did not create. These accounts do not belong to me. I only authorized and opened one Hulu account on November 24, 2018. I have communicated with Hulu multiple times to request a refund. They refunded $89.95 in July 2019 and claimed to have closed a fraudulent account. There were no fraudulent charges in August and September 2019. However, in October 2019, the charges started again. Hulu refunded $44.96 and $44.99 on October 29, 2019. There were no fraudulent charges in November 2019, but they resumed in December 2019 and have continued until now, according to Hulu. However, the history shows otherwise. Hulu claims that they are not responsible for the false charges and that it is credit card fraud. They say that the fraudulent accounts had my email address and birthdate, but they had an email that does not belong to me. Additionally, Hulu never sent me an email or text to verify my authorization for the fraudulent account through two-factor authentication. Hulu allowed the account to be created without my permission, which is not my fault or the credit card company's fault. It is Hulu's fault, and they owe me a significant amount of money. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if you need copies of my credit card statements. I have a transcript of today's chat with a Hulu customer service agent, which I copied from the screen. I requested a transcript, but Hulu emailed me a transcript of an automated bot instead of the actual conversation. The chat started with Katrina L at 5:36 PM. I have included the chat transcript below.

Hulu Selection and General Experience:

Selection and General Experience:
*Movie choices are abysmal. Their movies are either really old or low budget things you've never heard of. There are some decent documentaries, but no better than what you could get from Netflix.
*Though Hulu Plus requires a monthly fee, you still have to sit through commercials. Frequently, especially if you're watching multiple episodes of the same show, you'll have to watch the same commercial repeatedly. It's maddening.
*They list some shows as if they have them to draw people in, but then it turns out they really don't. Sometimes you go to the page for the show and it states straight out they don't actually have it, though I guess they leave it there so it will show up in search results as if they do. Other times, they're just carrying a link to the network site.
*Then there's all of the stuff that they can only provide if you have a TV provider to connect. So, you have to be paying a TV provider, paying for Hulu Plus, and still watch the repetitive commercials. If I had a TV provider, wouldn't I just be watching it on TV that way?

Hulu TV app:
*There's regular stuttering.
*Sometimes it freezes in the middle of the episode altogether. When I restart it, it reverts back either to the beginning of the last chapter or even loses the place completely and starts again from the beginning. If usually forces me to sit through the previous commercials all over again.
*There's often an excessive loading time before resuming the episode after commercials but, funnily enough, commercials never seem to have a problem.

Queue:
*Online and TV app queues are not fully synced. Shows in my queue online often don't show up in my queue on the app even for shows that are available there if I search for them.
*Often, new episodes of shows that I have a subscription for aren't showing up in my queue and I have to find them and put them there manually. At other times, it puts episodes I've already watched and removed from my queue back in again, sometimes days later.
*The order of the queue and subscriptions in the TV app makes no sense. It's not alphabetical, it's not the order they were originally put on, it's not the order I have them in my queue online; it's just a mess.

Customer support:

*No resolution: Ultimately, there was no resolution from Hulu support and I had to find my own workaround (used PayPal with the same card). I enjoyed responding to their survey about how my customer service experience had been.

Hulu Not military friendly

First and foremost, even when we were back in the United States the quality of Hulu was horribly. Constantly buffering and poor video quality. We have recently moved oversees (using American network for cable) and Hulu still refuses to accept it. It’s bull’hit because they have taken their seeet a** time to cancel my account and still charging me even though they know I am not able to watch it. I think this is crap. We had it for 2 years before getting station to Germany. They should realize this and realize military had no choice to be over here., and allow us to watch it. Netflix and prime both allow it.. just sayin

Desired outcome: To allow military members that had it prior to leaving the states be able to watch it

Hulu Their Black Friday sale

I was on the phone for 3/4 hours trying to get a bundle Black Friday special. They didn’t know what they were doing apparently . I was charged twice but got the Disney plus but not Hulu. I canceled Disney plus because I was charged for both services I didn’t get so I now have to wait God knows how long to get my reimbursement for the two times I was charged. Hulu customer service is horrible and I was ripped off. Only one of their money they got their money immediately but I have to wait on my money and it’s Christmas time. so I wash my hands of Hulu. I have to wait longer now to get my refund from disney but may not get it because It now says I can still watch until Dec . 23rd. I had to cancel them also to I thought, get my money back and now it’s set in stone. I was charged and don’t get the bundle.

Desired outcome: Money returned in full

Hulu Disgusting Advertisers

HULU used to be a family channel-now it’s just smut. I’ve been with them for a very long time. Advertising on ‘how to get hard and stay hard’. Advertising for ‘Julie”. Pushing the limits of decency in television. I’m done! Trying to sit through a show with younger family members has gotten impossible and embarrassing. It’s only going to get worse when HULU merges with Disney+. There’s no way I’m going to spend more money for no commercials after the station has shown what they actually stand for. I’m outta here!

Hulu Hulu streaming service for David DePuy

This has happened several times and just happened again for the World Series today, Oct. 28, 23 at 7:00 AM. Watching the game at another location and listening to it on the radio on the way home, arriving at home to watch the end of the game, turning on HULU, and HULU insists on starting the game over again. Instead of joining the game live, your programming insists on starting the game over again from the beginning blah blah. What about this makes any sense? We just had to listen to the last of the game on the radio due to this stupid programming glitch. What gives?

Hulu The volume of commercials extremely loud

They have a law about commercial content not being louder than the show. Why is this still a problem with Hulu? Every time I watch a movie or tv on Hulu the commercials are extremely loud. It’s very unpleasant, especially because I’m home with many health problems and tv is about all the entertainment I have at this time. I would like to be able to watch the tv and not have to get the remote every time to turn the volume down to 9 from 20. The shows are not so loud so you have to turn volume up to hear it then when commercials are on it’s like a big bang!

The Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation (CALM) Act, passed in 2010, makes it illegal for any commercial's volume to exceed the average volume of the channel that it comes on.

Desired outcome: Resolved so they are complying with the laws and or possibly get a refund or upgrade my service to not have commercials.

Hulu Hulu Live and customer service

I am having trouble with my "home" I have T-Mobile internet so my IP address changes constantly. It is completely out of my control. Because of this I have to constantly call to update my "home" so I can watch live. As if that is not bad enough every single time I have to wait LONG times to even speak to anyone. This particular time I have already waited 45mins and still counting. Its absolutely ridiculous to pay this much and have to jump through hoops constantly. I wish you would just have me pay for how many people can watch at once. Then you get your money and don't have to worry about password sharing. Which is why I am thinking you have this "home" idea in the first place. With home internet like T-Mobile's becoming more available and popular I am certain you are going to be running into this issue a lot. However you find a way to make it work just try something to make this better. I love Hulu but for this issue.

Hulu Live TV

Hulu Live TV is the worst cable service on the market. They get you by offering a fantastic channel lineup. Please don't fall for it. I was on the phone trying to troubleshoot with Hulu customer service for over 3 hours. It was a nightmare. I was told on three separate occasions that the issue was resolved - every time, after 40 minutes, the issue would return. I was even lucky to have my internet service provider on the phone simultaneously using three-way. He owns the company and is the leading expert in the county I reside in. He oversees the company and is responsible for thousands of customers. He offered to help the issue be resolved by using his computer tech expertise. The Hulu rep was rude and ignorant. The audacity to question the actual expert on his expertise to resolve the issue was astounding. He was completely ignored. I gave up and canceled the subscription. I paid 111.00 dollars for nothing. I use Youtube TV now. So far, I have no complaints.

Hulu Videos expiring on popular programming and license not renewed

I stream Hulu on my PC and have found recently my favorite programs (3) have been labelled expiring and I was told by Hulu customer service "that Hulu lost the license." I do not believe that for a second as Hulu is eager to offer well-watched videos so they won't lose customers to their competition. I believe the shows have been cancelled for reasons they will not disclose. At this point, I can no longer enjoy these programs as they have been cancelled permanently. There is no way to complain directly to management as CS people have no power and you can't go up the food chain, by design. Weak, weak, sneaky management and they do nothing but throw roadblocks up to prevent the problem from being discussed and hopefully solved. Shameful business practices.

Desired outcome: I want to talk to a member of management who can explain to me WHY these programs were cancelled permanently while they are popular shows with new seasons being planned? WHY is it so difficult to get a straight answer out of Hulu?

Hulu Subtitles

I've been rewatching Secret Life of an American Teenager with my hearing impaired friend who has never seen it(I also regularly use subtitles bc I have an auditory processing issue). The problem we've run into is subtitles being completely wrong(wrong words, jumble of letters, typos that make them unable to understand). There are also random question marks at the end or beginning of a line when the words are clearly understandable. The person talks a little fast and suddenly they're not able to understand? I could subtitle this show better than whoever did. I have to pause to show often to sign what the actors are saying. She's recently lost her hearing so she can't read lips very well at all and it's more difficult when actors mumble or talk fast.

Desired outcome: Fix the subtitles I'd fix them myself if you paid me. This is a recurring issue with subtitles. Do you people forget that deaf people really exist?

Hulu Hulu App

I have had nothing but problems with this App. I have less than a month left on my trial membership but to be honest except for a couple of things I enjoyed, I have not been able to enjoy the other programming because to be honest I either can't get into the Hulu App or I get into something I don't want to watch and get stuck there and the only resolution is to exit the app because I am so frustrated.

I really wanted to like Hulu but find it very user unfrendly. Yes, you can click on a program but there is no advance narration about the the movie or tv series is about and since I get "stuck" once I have entered ANYTHING, my sole remedy is to get out of it entirely.

Some of it could be user error, but I also see where your app is not as user friendly as other streaming services.

So, guess I will just have to wait out the rest of my subscription and cancel and as far as I am concerned, NO BIG LOSS!

Desired outcome: Not sure what the desired outcome or solution is. When I tried to use Alexa, she told me I had to become better at communicating with her! Really!

On July 29, 2023, I ordered a PAY PER VIEW event UFC 291 on Hulu. I was charged for this event and Hulu did not show the event due to unknown issues. I had a watch party of people at my house for this event including about 20 people. Because of this failure to provide the fights in UFC 291 live as it happened I needed to order it directly through ESPN for $79.99, thus paying twice for the same event. I am requesting Hulu reimburse me for their failure to provide the service.
