Goodwill Industries Goodwill employee Calabash,NC

I have shopped at the Goodwill in Calabash, NC since I moved here four years ago. About a year ago, one of the cashiers left and she was the only friendly one there. I stopped shopping there, along with my other family members and friends. One friend was even in there once when a manager was loudly berating a new cashier in training in front of the whole store. About a month ago, a friend went in looking for something for a halloween costume and told me there was a new cashier who was great. I went back in and as I usually am in the store two days a week, I found this lady to be a joy. I was in the store today around 2:30 or so, and this was the true test. This cashier was the only one with an open register and she was absolutely covered up and people were waiting in line to check out. Still, she was so friendly to everyone, speaking and smiling and thanking everyone for their business - just like I have witnessed her to do every single time I have been in there. I was so impressed I asked her name. She said "Sam". I am telling you Goodwill of Calabash, NC, you have a jewel in that one. And hopefully, the rest of you will take lessons from her in how to treat your customers.

Goodwill Industries Horrible crooked manager!

I went into the norwalk ohio goodwill while waiting for my clothes at the laundry mat across the street. I was digging through all the 5.99 and under items and came across a neat little poster and wanted to buy it. It didn’t have a price tag on so I asked the cashier how much it was and she said it’s the price of any of their posters $1.99 but the girl working with her said she would go back and have them put that price mark on it. Well I continue to stand at the register for 30 minutes while they had the poster in the back, even the cashier was wondering what the heck was going on. The stores checkout line was backing way up and we were all so confused how it was taking a half hour to put a 1.99 sticker on my item. Finally after 35 minutes the manager comes out and said oh I someone waiting on this or something knowing full well I was waiting over a half hour because the cashier sent 3 different employers back 4 different times to see what the hold up was. Then she states that instead of putting the 1.99 tag on it she looked at it and thought it was cool and spent a half hour googling it to see if it was worth more. She comes out with a price tag of $75 because she researched it and it was worth a little but of money and then wanted to keep it for herself. I was irate at this point. She was extremely rude and disrespectful to me and I said how wrong it was what she just did. It should have been priced what they originally told me at 1.99 and I’m the one who dug through the bins for an hour to fins it. They should have price valued it before putting it out on the shelves and it was priced to me at 1.99. I basically was buying the item and she took it from me went to the back with it while she researched the value for 30 minutes because she wanted it herself. I am absolutely appalled at what happened and am reporting this to every corporate and higher up that I can until something is done about this. I got cheated out of something I looked hard and found and was told it was the price of any other poster they receive but the manager seen it and instead upped the price to$75 dollars and keeping it for herself all while leaving me stand in line waiting for over a half hour. All the other customers in line agreed how unprofessional she was for her own gain and they were in shock how she cheated me.

Recommendation: Don't ever go there!! They are shady crooks.

Goodwill Industries Overcharged

The last 3 visits to Goodwill in Fredericksburg have resulted in being Overcharged by at least $3 each visit. Today I went back in after being overcharged by 2.99. Had 7 items on the receipt but bought 6. Manager checked me out! Refused to give me my money stating that two items were 3.99 even though she rang them up as $2.99. Then offered me to pick up something in the store for a $1 to compensate. Told her they were small plush and were supposed to be $2.99 a piece! She replied "they shouldn't even be on the floor for sale!" We left with issue NOT resolved! WILL NOT go there again. She is pocketing money apparently!

Claimed loss: $8 plus dollars last 4 visits!!

On Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 5:30 pm. I've gone to the Goodwill store to purchase vases. I saw three vases; one was on sale, plus it had a color price tag. The manager who was working the shift told me that she could not give me the sale price on the tag because it was labeled incorrectly. She continues to tell me that I can purchase the sale vase for the...

Store # 206 Donna Topia management Extremely rude! She refused to negotiate prices that are way over priced. Shame on you! Spent over a hour shopping the store and found 15 dresses. All extremely over priced. Some still had tags with lower prices than Goodwills prices. Wow! Ask to buy each dress for $5 each. Making the sell $75 plus tax. Good sell...

Not sure of Goodwill hires felony backgrounds but this is of concern. My relative was victim of this person so I left store. Our local Goodwill Store in Rolla MO has been increasing prices to ridiculous amounts for used, second hand, donated goods. For example, bath towels priced over $8 each, these could be purchased NEW for less, kitchen drying mats, priced at $6.18 each and they aren't even a large size. We are seeing clothing marked $12, $15, $20 per item and shoes as much a...

Goodwill Industries Production worker

Hi my name is Roy Berry I work for your Goodwill Outlet in Indianapolis Indiana. Address is 4105 N Franklin rd. I've been harassed by my supervisor at work. Now in your guy's advertisement it says that you guys work with employees and work schedules. But my supervisor isn't working with me at all on scheduling. I tried to file a complaint but our store manager never got back to me. Now I'm writing this to hopefully get through to somebody that can help.

Goodwill Industries Exorbitant handling and shipping prices

Hello Friends,

I just added up the 8 auctions I won and the total of my items was $55. I added up the shipping and handling of these items and the total come to $106. They were all shoes, and are items that are easily gathered. The total weight of 3 items was 2.50 from the same location, 1.2 which was recorded as 3, 1.7 recorded as 7, 3 recorded as 4, 1 recorded as 4, and 2 recorded as 3. All the handlings were $3.99. WTF?! why are they recording shipping to be 7 when its should be 3? You are ripping off the public! Why are you doing this? This is unfair and criminal! You claim to be for the best interests of individuals and families, but you are gouging us with your unnecessary fees! I am going to post this on your platform to let everyone know what you are doing. In my hopes that everyone will boycott your online platform. My intentions are not malicious, just allowing others to see your unfair business practices! Be better, Goodwill!

Claimed loss: Loss of finances because of the scam that Goodwill is oroporting on its customers gouging with exorbitant pricing on shipping and handling fees. They have to be stopped or the prices will continue to rise!!!

Desired outcome: Shipping should be for the weight the item proposes and handling fees should be $1 per item.

To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Lisa Garcia and I have been a customer of your stores and online shopping for years. I realize in our current economy situation the government and their decisions have caused much chaos and insecurity in many markets. I realize the need to hike prices to the consumer because of the cost of purchasing goods has risen. The problem I am having is that the way goodwill receives product is through FREE donations, as it always has. This allows you to generate nontaxable income for your business.

The problem I am having is not on the prices of items, but the cost of shipping and handling on your online auction. This would be considered price gouging if it was on products. The cost of shipping and handling has risen three-fold. I am sure I am not the only one who has noticed the rise in shipping and handling costs, but I hope others would let it be known. I won three auctions from the same location and the cost of shipping would be reduced to save on shipping. Today, this is not the case. All that was done was the cost of all three shipping and handling were added together, with NO discount! The items weighed 2.50 shipping via USPS. Shipping this weight vis USPS Ground Advantage would be $9.50. Why doesn’t Goodwill use Ground Advantage or many of the flat rate boxes. What I am expressing is there IS an alternative!

The problem is your company is not taking advantage of this because they are gouging the customers with the higher rate to make more money! This is not right for a company that pays no taxes to gouge their customers, who do pay taxes, by purposefully using the highest shipping, and adding handling fees that are three times higher than needed! This is very concerning to me, and I am going to send this information to the highest authority in my state and continue my quest to get this information to the authorities in Washington DC and the tax authorities that approve your tax-free status. Times are hard for everyone. Someone needs to address this gouging of shipping and handling inflation and give us consumers a break!

The whole purpose of this letter is to inform you that there are alternatives to the crazy high priced shipping fees on Shopgoodwill.com. If each store on your site would utilize the USPS Ground Advantage postage and flat rate boxes that are available to EVERYONE! The cost to the consumer would be one half to one fourth what it is now! This is the right thing to do. How I view your company is that you are a bunch of villains selling donated or free product and gouging your consumer with the exorbitant cost of shipping just because you can! How greedy are you? Having a reasonable way to ship items would probably double your reach and would allow people like me, to not pass up an item because the shipping is four times the price of the item! This will not hurt your company in the least and would solidify your mission in enhancing the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to OPPORTUNITY and helping people in all communities! Please consider checking into these AVAILABLE options on shipping with USPS, Ground Advantage and flat rate boxes to ship your items! Be better!

Sincerely,

Lisa Garcia, Masters in Business Administration

I purchased items last Christmas and compared to this Christmas, the costs in shipping and handling have risen times 4! I have written a complaint to corporate and hope change can happen. There is no excuse because USPS offers alternative services via Ground Advantage and flat rate boxes. Hey Goodwill, be better!

Goodwill Industries Customer service manager

I have constantly experienced that at the Goodwill on 19th Ave., and Northern in Phoenix, Arizona or my mistake. Peoria has a manager who is constantly harassing people who look as though they don’t have any money to pay and call them out in front of everybody and let them know that they shouldn’t be in here because they don’t have money. One incident particular. She saw Lady was wearing she was and she said where are you in here you don’t have any pay look at you can’t anymore Shoes but the lady was just trying on shoes and she saw her there at the time incident where somebody had a backpack and stopped him and asked to leave backpack. He said no it’s my backpack and he said she said we’re selling and he said look at my backpack, and he said no it’s OK fine to leave , this is very rude. She has no customer service ethic and is totally not abiding by the Goodwill mission.

Desired outcome: classes therapy customer service so not with customers bringing something else from outsidelife into her work very angry annoyed when people ask questions and the only thing she seems to deal with is drama what she causes

Goodwill Industries Staff interactions with customers

I was in your store today and I have never been so disrespected in a long while. But today takes the cake. And this person was a manager, supposedly. And then if she part of your leadership she should not be. The worst disposition, disingenuous, discourteous person. And does not make sense especially if I am spending my money in support of your organization and supporting your mission. It comes down to simple common courteous be respectful toward people. What angered me most was they were flippant toward me to say nothing was going to happen to me and that I could speak and or treat people like I want which is disrespectful. And face no consequences or be held accountable for actions. They need further training or find themselves another profession.

Goodwill Industries No changing rooms

I visited Goodwill on Sunday December 3rd, 2023 in the afternoon.

Please put the changing rooms back at the Roseville MN or another store where they were removed. We are not allowed to bring unpaid products into the bathroom. So, we have no way to try on clothes prior to purchasing them. I don't know why they were removed other than for covid protection purposes, but those are long gone.

Claimed loss: A place to try on clothes

Desired outcome: Return of changing rooms

Goodwill Industries Manger yells at customers

There was a sign (misspelled) that said all furniture was 50% off. I asked one employee if a mobility device was a part of the deal and was told she was unsure. I went to the cashier and was told probably because the exercise equipment was included. She went and asked the store manager and he came out saying that it was unacceptable that I was harassing his employees. When I tried to explain the situation he walked away. I made an out loud comment that he was behaving rudely and he turned around, raised his voice, and told me that I was the rude one, once again for harassing his employees. My autistic daughter was with me and she was in tears from being yelled at by this man. My name is Rae and my phone number is [protected].

Claimed loss: Me and my daughter suffered emotional distress because he refused to have a conversation about the issue.

Desired outcome: I would like a genuine apology, he apologized to my friend who stood up for me as I was crying by saying he was sorry I felt that way.
