UPS Store #6672, Sugar Land, Texas.
Today, on 7/29/16 I have shipped a 22x15x15 box with a $1, 000 insurance. Weight of the package is approx. 7 lbs. not more. (Actual weight is not listed on receipt, because the package was calculated as oversize).
The charge was $94.56. I questioned the amount, as to why is it so high, the person told me, "I don't know, that is what the computer said".
I verified the the shipping addresses, my company and the destination address. It was correct. I paid for the shipment and I walked out. This was right at closing time. The UPS pick up was waiting for my package. In the packing lot, I checked the charges and tracking information. Than I found out the reason the package cost so much, because the size of the box was inflated to 23 x 16x17. That made the box to be oversized and the shipping weight to be 38 lbs. By the time I realized it, about 5 minutes later, the store closed and UPS truck just drove out to the street. Immediately I called UPS 800 number to stop the package. I was on hold for about 10 min. without any help, so I drove to Stafford, Texas, UPS Hub (largest central location for UPS) to try to get some help there, since the package was being delivered to that location first about the same time as I arrived. They told me, sorry but can't help, I need to call the UPS 800 number. I was on the phone with UPS for nearly an hour in the UPS parking lot, and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, I could pick up the package without sending it out to the destination address. Very - very upsetting, that I have to run around for not getting ripped off by these crooked places. I hate these UPS stores. I will never again ship anything by them.
Tomorrow they will hear from me, what they will remember for a long - long time.
I don't know why UPS lets these stores to operate under the UPS name. First of all, it is misleading to customers that they are not actually UPS.
Second, hundreds and hundreds of complaints are against these crooked places.

Last December I had some issues with an other UPS store location, in Sugar Land, TX. UPS misdirected the package and for that reason I was supposed to get a full refund for the shipping. I was arguing with the person at that location for the refund, but they refused finding all kind of stupid reasons. After two weeks of hassle, I finally gave up and let the $19 go.

Now this location, even worst. Sickening, just sickening.

Resolved

Owner of the UPS store refunded the overcharge and apologized for the mistake of their employee. Complaint is solved, I learned my lesson.
