I was trying to change the address for my mother's driver's licence. When I typed in Florida Driver's license Floridadriverslicensing.org website came up and I thought I had found the site. They did not provide any service except to direct me to the correct website after taking all our information including my credit card number, then charging me $15 for that. Total SCAM!

Lesson taught (once again): look before I leap. Yep, I fell for this web site's shady business practice also, thinking I was paying to receive a new license reflecting a change of address. I didn't take the time to read exactly what it is selling, which is simply links to legitimate Florida DMV site info. In my case, I ended up paying $14 for these links, which I found easily on my own before I received the company's email giving me the same links.

In the end, I can't blame anybody but myself for not thoroughly researching the company before I proceeded with the transaction and reading the info displayed on its site more carefully. The company no doubt continues to operate with impunity because it does state what it is providing if one takes the time to thoroughly read everything. On the other hand, its website sure was created to (deceptively) appear government official, and the "org" at the end of its address adds to the deceit...although the legitimate Florida DMVsite is listed as: http://www.flhsmv.gov/...with a "gov" at the end.

I was going to dispute the $14 charge with my credit card company. But when I really think about it, I have little to no grounds to do so, as my own stupidity and being in a hurry were truly the ultimate culprits. I will probably pay the $14 and chalk it up (once again) as a lesson taught by the university of hard knocks...and hope the website does not use my personal info for identity theft or other nefarious purposes. At minimum, I won't be surprised if the spam in the email account I used for the purchase increases a hundred fold as a result of this company selling my info to other sites.

Rembrandt, who do you work for. Seems that if anyone finds something misleading or fraudulent you have a rebuttal. Have you never been mislead or wrong?
