Experian Mixed Experience with Experian Consumer Services

After exploring various reviews about Experian Consumer Services, it's evident that opinions are divided. Some customers appreciate the ease of navigating the website and the helpful credit-building tools like Experian Boost. They found the service instrumental in improving their credit scores. However, others express frustration with the customer service, citing difficulties in resolving disputes and challenges in accessing live support. The company's automated systems and slow response times have left some customers dissatisfied. While Experian offers valuable features like credit monitoring and security freezes, there are concerns about the accuracy of credit reports and the effectiveness of the service. Potential customers should weigh the pros and cons carefully before engaging with Experian Consumer Services.

Experian I got a better option

I would not keep paying for a service i don't get. Hence why i had to seek the expertise of private credit financial expert, webghost33 via instagrm. He helped removed my negative inquiries and cleared over $45k cc debt after i had become a victim of identity theft fraud. I'll tell you for a fact that freezing your credit is not just enough after a fraud related issues. Most credit bureau dont help clean up credit report as expected. Do better. My credit has since improved after seeking help elsewhere. Current score of 768.

Experian Poor command of English for a US firm

Out of all the credit bureaus, Experian is probably the worse in terms of understanding English. I called a few times and the agents did not understand that my classification should be the same as my spouse if we were both found in the Equifax breach. Do you need a police report for that? I had to pay for a freeze whereas my spouse did not have to. All the agents did was furnish me a copy of my credit report, which I had and it is not what I asked for, which was to correct my classification so I wouldn't need to pay for a freeze or unfreeze.

Experian They're Slimy

When you log in, you're greeted by a page where they've prepopulated your credit card info, and where the "buy" button is visible, but the "not right now" button is off the screen. And they've set it up to where it looks like just another button to click through to get in. See the attached screenshot and you'll see what I mean. This is not how above-board businesses operate.

Their phone system is set up to cause you to have to go through prompt after prompt to get to speak with a person. Before you do, the system may hang up on you. For one event, I had to call Experian 6 times before I got everything worked out. Unlike Equifax and TransUnion, you cannot dispute anything online; a phone call is the only way. Conveniently for them but not for you, the call center is only staffed on non-holiday weekdays during normal business hours.

Experian Disingenuous

So, I've had Experian for over six years and although they're expensive and offer little in return I've kept them. So a few nights ago I received an email stating that I've downgraded my account back to it being free, which I never did, by the way. I spoke with a representative an advised her that in no way I terminated my premium account. So long story short, my account was reinstated and I had to pay for the upcoming month, even though I was 15 days away from getting my 30 day refresh. Fast forward to today and I decide to check my credit. It had me at a refresh at 90 days. So of course, I called and was told that the previous representative had placed my on the 90 day refresh. I stated that I had asked to have my membership placed back to where it was initially. The representative sounded Indian, as the previous one, so I had to repeat everything several times with her responding to me in a phony, workshop dialect, which I'm sure this is how they're taught on how to handle western customers. So my initial thoughts were correct. Experian themselves terminated my membership and when I had my initial membership reinstated I saw where they went up $3 a month. Don't get me wrong, I think they're expensive as is for what you get. I, can respect a company that will tell their customers at face value that they're increasing their prices instead of sending them emails saying that the customers did it only to sell them their previous membership at an increase. I thought seriously about just going with one of their competitors at the same price or a few dollars more to prove a point. This is NOT customer service.

After disputing incorrect information on my report 2 times to no avail, the 3rd attempt to dispute said not able to dispute again, but finally gave an option to upload documents. Why wasn't this option there for first dispute attempts? Incorrect info was deleted after 3rd try and submitted document. Posting this to help others.

The worst at updating information and score. My other scores are *** point difference. This is not good business in my books. And that is making people suffer because of their laziness. If you cant keep up, maybe you should make changes to improve. Or get your act together.

I would score Experian less than 1 star, if it were possible. Experian is the absolute worst in credit scoring. I have an excellent credit history, over 30 years of excellent scoring from credit card companies, auto loan creditors, and mortgage lenders. No late payments ever recorded, all payments owed paid on time and recorded as such. I have zero debt and my credit scores from the other 2 main bureaus are well over 800. In the past 60 days Experian has dropped my credit score over 60 points because I just recently paid off my mortgage loan, 5 years early. This is absurd. You cannot talk to a live person via their customer *** lines to discuss it. They are a joke. Credit card companies, auto loan, mortgage loan companies and financial banking institutions need to be using the other credit bureaus when verifying FICO scores in order to give the individual requesting credit, a more honest and fair evaluation of their credit worthiness and their credit FICO scores. I am completely disgusted with Experian and other individuals should be as well. I cant believe they are the main bureau that creditors use to verify a persons credit worthiness.

4/27/20 - 5/12/21 - 5/1/22 - 5/18/23 I have had my account since 2016 because honestly, we have no choice. I have always signed up for the free plan. The dates above reference each time I spoke to them because it appears every April they try to charge me for a yearly premium membership that I NEVER sign up for. How is it every year they are allowed to automatically change your membership to paid and then withdraw the money? It's only $36 this year so many may not notice. I only did because the bank card they had was expired so I got a notice from my bank about the charge. When you call they act like you're the idiot who didn't know you signed up for a pay plan when I've had the account since 2016 and never once did. It's not a new account. I didn't ACCIDENTLY agree to a paid plan THIS COMPANY CHANGES IT YEARLY TO THE PAID PLAN WITHOUT CONSENT. I wonder how many people are paying for this service and don't even realize it because this company has all our info already. Shady.

I had good experiences with Experian, but when they disabled my account and I couldn't reset the password, I couldn't rely on any reports from my creditors. They have mixed Experian with ***.Experian, which is confusing and raises questions about transparency. It's difficult to reach customer support through phone or email services.

Experian is the absolute WORST. I tried to dispute some items on my credit report that were right at the 7 year *** and should have fallen off. Experian instead "updated" them and now won't allow me to dispute them again, six months later, stating some stupid credit code.Equifax and Transunion not only removed them all, but they allow me to dispute what ever I want, when ever I want. When they're presiding over something as crucial as your credit score, they shouldn't be allowed to restrict you from filing a dispute. Not only that, it should be criminal for Experian to allow collection agencies to re-new their dates to keep old accounts current. I have accounts that were originally closed 10 years ago and the debt collectors have only recently filed collections on them and Experian allows it!TransUnion and Equifax got rid of them, Experian allows it, then blocks you from re-disputing. To add insult to injury, they tell you that if you have documentation, to upload it, then their website has unending errors. These people should be shut down!I wish I could rate them zero stars.

I'm certain this is just going to mirror the same things others have said, and I apologize in advance if there's any slight grammatical errors, as I'm using voice-type on my phone for this ordeal..First off, I'm tired of them continuing to send me emails for offers such as "personal credit card matches" that each assure me that either them OR their 3rd party has found me tailored fits - only to log on - be greeted on their site with the SAME blip - but of course never yielding ANY results of ANY kind/nature.. ALSO, the support section of their site intentionally waste the customer's time by going far past simple call/quality-control - and continuing the loop said customer in an ongoing and convoluted mess that never gives the option of any sort of actual "SUPPORT CONTACT" as it's explicitly advertised.. there are many spots on their site that CLAIM to link to an email address that can be used for "General Inquiries" - though they NEVER do, as the ONLY emails listed anywhere on their site are those of a couple Marketing Representatives for that specific purpose (whom neglect to not only respond - but also navigate/refer said email to ANY applicable party.. As it is, the ONLY form of contact - despite what the site continues to state in black and white - is to a customer *** number that ***, and only gets you to a representative if you finagle your way through it's convoluted nature - picking one of a couple golden options. To do this you of course need to enter your social security number the moment you call, wait for it to verify it, and then as soon as it representative comes on the phone they each demand that you read them off the SAME number - despite the blatant redundancy of it all. At this point I'm DISGUSTED with this site, and definitely won't be using it in the future, has it also claims if I upgrade my membership it has the power to wipe my name and address from every site out there that exploits such info legally though unfortunately.

Absolutely horrible. I cancelled Experian years ago, but recently received an email from them regarding my credit score. I literally cant even get into contact with anyone for support.Phone numbers will just disconnect on me. I found a phone number that has automated service, but it refuses to transfer me to a live agent - Im told that my call cant be transferred for this reason and I have to use the automated service - but the automated service cant help me.So Im stuck in limbo not being able to do anything or get what I need done. One of the most horrible if not the most horrible companies Ive ever dealt with.

One Star is to high. Tried for 1.5 hours get get through the phone tree and talk to a person. To save money, they have chosen to make that "impossible." Yet they gather our data, sell it and impact our lives but in my case none of the web or phone tree options applied. Greed of a few that impacts us all. I got my problem solved through Identify theft protection company. She told me that it is not possible to talk to a person, even for them. Notice there rating of 1.1/5 stars.. But they do not care because we are all stuck with their decision to value $$$ more than providing a service to those they make money off of. Wow, what way to make a buck? I have lots of business clients I work with and I would fire them as a client if they were such bad citizens to the community they serve.

Experian At first, my experience with this service was good

At first, my experience with this service was good. It detected all of my bills. However, suddenly my utility bill disappeared and as a result, my credit score dropped. I was still paying my utilities, but the service no longer recognized it. Additionally, it never detected any of my credit cards, rent, cable, or cell phone payments. I have been paying these bills on time every month for a year from my checking account. I'm not sure what the issue is with this service, but it has been disappointing.

This business has no regards for the Congress law or anyone. I've sent 2 Identity theft reports and numerous written letters providing my information and explaining the situation that I'm a victim of fraud, I even filed a complaint with CFPB and they didn't care. I still have fraudulent accounts/inquiries reporting on my credit report that they didn't even properly verified. They just say the conduct an investigation and don't explain what did they do and how they conclude that those accounts/inquiries are mine. I've tried calling multiple times and when the *** or *** answer and I begging to give them my information they hang up on me. This situation is affecting my ability to get credit and my mental health.

If I could give a negative star I would. On my credit report it showed that I owed my credit card company money. So I called the credit card company and they said the bill isnt even due yet. They are scammers. They just want to use your information to get money. I tried to call the number and there is no way to get someone on the phone.

A terrible department. I've faxed your required documents on April 6. In addition over the course of the 16 BUSINESS day period I have emailed your customer *** team multiple times to get them to verify. They keep replying "IF"... "IF"... i sent the fax they will call or email.I cannot depend on the call because no one calls from an authorized number so it may go to spam. Your team won't verify they received the fax In addition I called today at 7:45 PST and they kept me on hold while they "looked into it" until 8PM, then hung up. You owe me $99.96

Experian I have an account with Experian and need to contact somebody to unlock my credit

I have an account with Experian and need to contact somebody to unlock my credit. I called over 15 times between cell and land line and can not get anybody. In all instances the phone first requests that you enter or say your social. Before you can even speak or enter numbers the system says "I'm sorry I did not get that". The system repeats that phrase about three or four times very fast where it does not give you a chance to say or enter anything and then the system hangs up on you. The chat is unavailable online when logged into my account therefore I have no way to get in touch with anybody to help me. I found an email address on google but that too is useless because it says somebody will try and get back to you within 2 days. What good does my membership do that I am paying for every month if I can not contact somebody to un freeze or re freeze credit. It is unacceptable. Your company is preventing me from being able to get a loan because I can not reach a human to un freeze my account!

Rarely leave reviews for anything, but felt compelled to do so here because its been one negative and frustrating experience after another. I have no issues locking / unlocking with the other two agencies, but with Experian, good luck! They are the only ones who dont give you a quick option to lock / unlock and instead force you to use the more cumbersome freeze/ unfreeze process. Their systems did not recognize my account to allow me to properly log in. After speaking with a customer *** representative this weekend and trying multiple things in their system, I was told I needed to wait 3 days for my account to be able to be accessed and given a case number and phone number to call back. So after 3 days (today) I call the number. There is NO way through any of the menus to enter my case number or get a live person. I finally try to just log into my account and create a new password. I go through all the steps multiple times and enter a new password and get an error message to the effect of sorry we cant process this at this time, try again later. Later? Like when? So I try again. Same thing. On the FOURTH time of going through all the steps it finally lets me in. Great, I think! So now I can log in. I click on the link to freeze / unfreeze my account. It takes me to a page where the ONLY thing I can do is to order a free credit report. NO other options. So I figure, what the heck, maybe I have to do that to get to the freeze / unfreeze page. So I go through all of the steps to order a report and get an error message that says oops were sorry we have encountered an irrecoverable system error call us toll free between these hours. Its between these hours and so I call and cannot get a live person on in any of the menus no matter how hard I try. I tried the automated freeze via the phone and it had an error too. Its just a comedy of errors. Extremely frustrating.

Trying to talk to a real person is impossible at any time. I have been trying to unlock my account for almost 3 months. Now all the message says is that your account has been locked for 24 hours after repeated failed attempts to log on. This wasn't done by me and when I try 24 hours later, I first try to do the forgot password and still get the same message after repeated failed attempts to log on. Your account has been locked for 24 hours, try back later. I have tried calling the number provided and get an automated response in which they tell me how to gain access by selecting forgot password or I can request they provide instructions, via snail mail, to do the same thing I have been trying for months. I would like to say they have terrible customer service, but I have never spoken to a real person and when I try, I am told via recording that my issue doesn't reach the level for talking to a representative. I wonder if they even have representatives. Your product is useless if I am unable to unlock and gain access to it because of your processes.

Experian So, I've been using Experian for more than six years, even though they are costly and provide little in return

So, I've been using Experian for more than six years, even though they are costly and provide little in return. A few nights ago, I received an email stating that my account had been downgraded to the free version, which I never requested. I spoke with a representative and informed her that I did not cancel my premium account. Long story short, my account was reinstated, but I had to pay for the upcoming month, even though I was only 15 days away from my 30-day refresh. Today, I decided to check my credit and noticed that it was set to refresh every 90 days. I called again and was told that the previous representative had changed my refresh period. I explained that I had requested to keep my membership as it was initially. The representative, who sounded Indian like the previous one, responded in a scripted manner, which I assume is how they are trained to handle Western customers. My initial suspicions were correct - Experian themselves terminated my membership and when it was reinstated, they increased the price by $3 per month. I believe they are already expensive for the services they provide. I would appreciate a company that is transparent about price increases instead of sending misleading emails claiming that customers made changes themselves, only to sell them the same membership at a higher cost. I seriously considered switching to one of their competitors at a similar or slightly higher price to make a point. This is not good customer service.

This comapny is a waste of anyones time. I was on my account looking to close because all the credit information they have is completly wrong. First off I cannot find a link anywhere to just cancel the account all together, second every phone number I have no one answers the phone. I hate that I ever signed up for this worthless company and they have private information. This is so irritating to deal with and I am still trying to reach someone. Experian I think that I wish i could handle more than sixty bytes per second and not go completely insane

I think that I wish i could handle more than sixty bytes per second and not go completely insane. I set out twenty minutes ago to write a scathing review on Experian Consumer Services or, as i'm fond of saying, " those people ". Well, after much self-reflection, i realized I have nothing scathing to write about the people of Experian. As a matter of fact I found myself compelled to give them a five star rating. You may ask yourself why I did that and i almost asked myself that very question. "Those People" are at the top of their game and they prove it consistently, day in and day out. The list of services they provide, in and of itself, warrants this rating. I was attempting to obtain a loan to purchase shingles for my house( I have free labor on standby) and the lender had me obtain my score from " my credit score impact ". I had every intention of cancelling my membership before the trial period was up. Much to my dismay that sixty bytes per second thing caught up with me again and I was a bit tardy with my cancellation. Looking back on this experience and the many services that the people of Experian provide has led me to rethink my thinking. Like a lot of my credit choices and decisions that were not in my best interest so to was my decision to cancel my membership with Experian. I'm looking forward to better decision making within sixty bytes per second. Sincerely, Dennis Hall

Experian Experian's Credit Fraud Protection: Is it Worth the Hype?

This company, Experian, is supposed to be all about protecting their customers from credit fraud. But let me tell you, their systems ain't all that great. I had a potentially fraudulent transaction go through on my account without any warning or alerts from Experian. And get this, it wasn't even my payment! It was someone else's payment for a credit report, with a completely different name and address. And to top it off, they charged it to my credit card on file, even though they told me the card was invalid and couldn't be charged for membership fees. And get this, the card they charged it to was even listed for monitoring for any suspicious activities!

So, I called up their customer service to contest the charge and they finally uncovered the problem. But when I asked about getting a refund for the measly $25 charge, they straight up told me no. They said I had to go contest the charge with my credit card company. Like, seriously? If they won't even stand behind $25, how can I trust their million dollar guarantee?

And don't even get me started on their phone systems. Every time I called, I got disconnected and had to start from the beginning with their support team. It's like they don't even care about their customers. Needless to say, I'm no longer a customer of Experian. But it makes me wonder, how many other people have had similar experiences? Can we really trust them to protect our credit and personal information?

Experian Disappointing Customer Service Experience with Experian: Unhelpful Representative and Poor Language Skills

My recent experience with Experian was due to an alert that I received from them regarding a possible fraudulent inquiry on my credit report. I was grateful for the heads up and followed the instructions on their website, which advised me to contact the company responsible for the inquiry and then reach out to Experian if they were unresponsive.

Unfortunately, the company in question was not answering their phone and had no voicemail set up, so I decided to call Experian for assistance. This turned out to be a big mistake. The representative who answered my call had a strong accent and was difficult to understand. She was also quite condescending and unhelpful, which was frustrating.

To make matters worse, it was clear that she was walking around outside during our call, and the wind was blowing into her phone, making it even harder to hear her. When I pointed this out, she insisted that my phone was breaking up, which was not the case.

I asked to speak to a manager who spoke better English, but the representative was reluctant to transfer me. She left me on hold for over half an hour before I finally realized that a manager was not coming. I was extremely disappointed with the service I received and felt that the representative should be fired for her unprofessional behavior.

If this is the kind of service that Experian provides, then I am not impressed. It seems that anyone can work for them, regardless of their language skills or ability to help customers. It's a shame that such an important company doesn't take customer service more seriously.

Experian my rewards (no rewards but no other choice)

so i received any email under Id#[protected] about adding a Ford Edge to my account What give Experian the right to automatically add ANYTHING to anyone account? Your csr said it was automated. I took it off. It also said it was Metallic Gray. I DONT OWN A CAR. It doesn't make sense that Experian should not be messing with people's accounts. When i logged onto my acct, it was directing me to insurance. So I will have to key an eye on Experian to make sure they don't add anything else that's not mine.

Experian After viewing a credit report that I was contacted about in a marketing effort by the reporting company...

I spoke with an actual employee of that company who did not update my employment/employer; That company was most likely Experian which then had a more current past employer misspelled on a subsequently viewed profile. There is not more that need be included now. The conversation with the employee of the platform occurred in about 2020.

After a previous notification regarding lacking information I again state that not more need be included at this time and any purposeful meaning that may assist another or for whom have or will experience similar, meaning may be extracted by a competent application of logic.

Desired outcome: unstated, undetermined, or n/a

Experian Experian Review: Not Worth Your Money - Inaccurate Info & Poor Customer Service

Experian is a service that I tried out and I gotta say, it's not the best. I wanted to give it zero stars but they wouldn't let me. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this service. The people who work there are not very helpful and they don't seem to understand the importance of having accurate information about creditors. The numbers they give you online are different from the ones you get when you call in. It's really frustrating.

To make matters worse, I was charged for a whole year for someone else's membership. When I asked for a refund, they told me they couldn't do it. It was a terrible experience. I would suggest going with Transunion or Equifax instead. They seem to be more reliable and trustworthy.

Experian Poor Customer Service and Confusing Policies at Experian Credit Bureau

Experian, the credit bureau, is not the best when it comes to understanding English. I had to call them a few times to get my problem resolved, but the agents did not seem to understand what I was saying. I was trying to explain that my classification should be the same as my spouse's, as we were both affected by the Equifax breach. However, the agents kept asking me if I needed a police report for that. It was frustrating because I had already explained my situation multiple times.

To make matters worse, I had to pay for a freeze on my credit report, while my spouse did not have to. I asked the agents if there was a way to correct my classification so that I wouldn't have to pay for a freeze or unfreeze, but all they did was furnish me with a copy of my credit report. This was not helpful at all, as I already had a copy of my report and it was not what I needed.

Overall, my experience with Experian was not great. The agents were not helpful and seemed to have trouble understanding my issue. It was frustrating to have to pay for a freeze while my spouse did not have to, and I wish there was a way to correct my classification without having to go through all this trouble. If you are looking for a credit bureau to work with, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Experian Experian Review: Scam or Legit? Don't Waste Your Time or Money!

Experian is a website that claims to help you protect yourself from fraud, but in reality, it's just a way to scare you into buying a membership. They send you a lot of emails, but when you actually need help, they ignore you. They don't care about your questions or concerns unless it benefits them. I was recently a victim of fraud, and Experian did nothing to help me. In fact, my membership fee increased by 17.04 a month without any notification. When I tried to contact them to resolve the issue, I was connected to someone overseas who didn't know anything. It's a total scam. Why would anyone pay for their services when Credit Karma is free? Don't waste your time or money on Experian.

Experian Experian's Soft Inquiries Are a Lie: Capital One Hard Inquiry Recorded

So, I was trying to get some credit cards from Experian and everything was going smooth, all of them were soft inquiries. But today, I tried to get a Capital One card and they said no. And to make things worse, it was recorded as a Hard Inquiry. I mean, come on, Experian! If you really care about your customers' credit scores, why do you let these advertisers mess it up with hard inquiries? It's not fair, man. I talked to customer service and they said they couldn't do anything about it because it wasn't fraud. But I don't care about that, I just want my credit score to go up, you know what I'm saying? It seems like Experian is more interested in making money from these credit card companies than helping their customers. It's a shame, really.

Experian Experian: A Credit Reporting Agency with Ulterior Motives

Experian is a credit reporting agency that has been around for a long time. They claim to help people improve their credit scores, but in reality, they contradict their own verbage constantly. They say that not using enough credit is bad, but when I respond by making credit card purchases within 6-10% usage of available credit and then paying it off in full, Experian rewards me by lowering my score by 11 points. It's frustrating because they claim that this action doesn't affect my overall credit worthiness, but it clearly does.

It seems like Experian purposely has metrics in place that throttle a person's ability to increase their score. For example, when I was notified by Credit Karma that I was doing an excellent job staying within my 6-10% credit card usage, Experian later in the day rewards me by lowering my score by one point. It's incredibly shady behavior, and it seems like they work on behalf of banks to lower scores at random to garner higher interest payments for banks.

Overall, I would not recommend using Experian. They seem to be more concerned with helping banks than helping individuals improve their credit scores. It's frustrating to deal with an organization that contradicts itself and seems to have ulterior motives. If you're looking to improve your credit score, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Experian Disappointed with Experian's Lack of Transparency and Accountability in Credit Score Calculation

I recently had an experience with Experian that left me feeling frustrated and confused. It all started when my auto lender made a mistake and marked me as 180 days late with all three credit bureaus - Experian, Transunion, and Equifax. As a result, my credit scores took a hit of about 40 points with each bureau.

I immediately submitted disputes with all three companies and worked with my lender to correct the mistake. Thankfully, Transunion and Equifax were able to return my score to its previous level once the error was fixed. However, Experian was a different story.

Despite the fact that the 180 day late was removed, my Experian score only increased by 13 points. When I called to inquire about this discrepancy, I was told that my score was completely controlled by their algorithm and that there was nothing that could be done. I was baffled by this response - after all, it's a simple mathematical concept that removing a factor that caused a -42 point drop should result in a +42 point increase.

Overall, I was disappointed by my experience with Experian. While I understand that algorithms play a role in determining credit scores, I was frustrated by the lack of transparency and accountability on their part. It's important for credit bureaus to take responsibility for their mistakes and work with consumers to ensure that their credit scores are accurate and fair.

Experian Experian Charged Me for a Free Credit Check - Terrible Customer Service

So, I recently had an experience with Experian and it wasn't a good one. I thought I was getting a free credit check, but it turns out that they charged me $24.31! I didn't sign up for anything, so I was pretty upset when I saw the charge on my Capital One credit card. I immediately reported it to Capital One and they investigated the charge. They gave me a credit for the amount, which was great. However, after a week, the credit was revoked and I was back to square one.

I tried to contact Experian to get this sorted out, but it's been a nightmare. I haven't been able to talk to a human being except for one time when I spoke to an employee from the Philippines. She told me that my complaint would be investigated and to wait a minute. I waited and waited, but the phone connection was lost. It's been frustrating to say the least.

I'm not the only one who has had this problem. If you've had a similar experience, I urge you to report it. I've already reported it to my state's AG Consumer Complaint Division and to Capital One. It's important to hold companies accountable for their actions, especially when they're taking advantage of people.

Overall, my experience with Experian has been disappointing. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone based on my experience. It's important to be vigilant when it comes to your finances and to make sure that you're not being scammed or taken advantage of.

Experian Experian's Unhelpful Customer Service Left Me with 26 Hard Inquiries on My Credit Report

I recently had an experience with Experian that left me feeling frustrated and helpless. I spent a total of 2 hours on the phone with their customer service team, only to be bounced around and told that there was nothing they could do to help me.

The issue at hand was that I had purchased a car from Carmax a year ago and agreed to a HARD PULL on my credit report. However, Experian had recorded a total of 26 hard inquiries for me, while the other two bureaus had them recorded as soft inquiries.

I reached out to all 10 agencies who had run my credit, but they all told me that only Experian had the power to remove the inquiries from my report. Unfortunately, when I contacted Experian, I was met with hostility and unhelpfulness. The customer service representative literally screamed at me, telling me that there was nothing they could do and that I just had to deal with the 26 HARD INQUIRIES on my report.

I was so angry that I almost threw my phone against the wall. It's frustrating to deal with a company that doesn't seem to care about its customers. In my opinion, Experian needs to be replaced with a better credit reporting agency or just leave it to the other two.

Overall, my experience with Experian was one of the worst I've ever had. I hope that others don't have to go through the same thing and that Experian improves its customer service in the future.

Experian Experian's Poor Customer Service: Useless Credit Bureau!

So, I had a real bad experience with Experian. My wallet got stolen and I had to freeze all my Credit Bureaus. But, when I needed to get credit at Home Depot, they used Experian and I got an email saying that they couldn't check my credit. I was in a real hurry and needed to get the freeze temporarily removed so that Home Depot could check my credit. But, when I called Experian, I got a computer answering service with limited responses. I was so frustrated because I couldn't remove the freeze temporarily. I mean, come on, this was an urgent problem and needed immediate attention. But, they didn't have any people to answer the phone and help me out. I had to write them and wait for two weeks for a reply. By that time, I would have had the money to buy the laundry center we needed with cash and wouldn't need credit anymore. I mean, what's the point of having a credit bureau if they can't even help you out when you need them the most? It's really sad that they don't hire people to answer their phones and resolve problems like this. I mean, they are useless! I know that people don't have a choice in the matter and these credit bureaus are used by many stores. But, it's really frustrating when they can't even help you out when you need them the most. If I could, I would give Experian a rating of one half a star!

Experian Experian's Credit Score System Needs Improvement: A Frustrating Experience

So, I've been using Experian for about three years now to build up my credit profile. I was pretty excited when I finally got a Good rating on my FICO score on February 12th, 2021. But then, on February 19th, I got an alert that one of my credit cards had decreased significantly to 0.0% and my FICO score had gone down by 8 points. I was really confused because all of my accounts were on time, my credit usage was below 5%, I had no collections, and all of my credit cards had a zero balance.

I was really frustrated because I had worked so hard to get my credit score up, and now it was going down for seemingly no reason. My scores with TransUnion and Equifax were in the 700 range, so I couldn't understand why my Experian score was going down. I had gained 5 points on 02/12/21 and 32 points on 01/30/21, so it didn't make sense that I would lose 8 points when nothing negative had come in to Experian and I hadn't made any recent inquiries.

This is why I don't pay for an Experian membership. It seems like it's all about the money and not about helping people improve their credit scores. It's frustrating to work so hard to improve your credit score and then have it go down for no reason. I hope Experian can improve their system so that it's more accurate and fair for everyone.

Experian credit report agency

As far as I know I never Paid for any upgrade on Experian Someone Did However Scam me into Believing that He was A collections creditor but when I paid the bill I never received an Email receipt back... well he used the Allegiant group to collect money from which I thought was awful strange... Why would a collection agency from the cash store be using a different site to collect from...? Well, these whoever they are took me for payments of 41.38

so far I paid 4 payments... whoever this is says that I owe a cash store the sum of 995.00

ever since I started paying on this things on my bank card were purchased without my consent... and Now this person paid on my Experian with my Credit One card of which I had to replace also... it was being for 5 times... of which I was not running it to see if I had any other stray bills it must have been this person who really tried to take me for a whole lot of money almost 1,000.00

I can't afford that kind of pay out... anyways He said with first payment I would receive a receipt... well I'm still waiting for one its just not happening

and I would like to know... what collections agency collects on weekends...

do you know of any?

I believe whoever this person is... is the one locked up my Experian account

for my refusal to pay of which... I never remember getting purchasing an upgrade

pack

Desired outcome: I would like to find out who the person was that paid on my Experian account and if you could please help me find the collector that called me and Got me to pay From Allegiant.

Experian My credit expert Credit Report

I settled an account in February and Experian has that account listed as overdue.

They have been provided with all necessary documentation, I have logged more than 4 disputes and I have sent multiple emails begging for a response.

This company simply does not care.

Experian has failed to update the account to closed from overdue and they have failed to recalculate my credit score.

Desired outcome: The overdue account must be updated to closed and my credit score recalculated

Experian Consumer protection

The credit card I had on file at Experian was cancelled due to fraud so they notified me of the need to update my information. I logged in with no trouble and was led to fill out a form to update my credit card information. The form didn't work. I tried at several different times with multiple cards I KNEW to be working. Nothing worked so I knew their was a technical issue.

Their customer service number does not offer "technical assistance" as any of the options they will service.

Each time I called their customer service there is a tiny narrow path that only allows you to choose options that route you to more automated answers even if you are going to file for fraud. The prompts do not allow you to say technical problem At NO POINT and under NO CIRCUMSTANCES can you ever reach a human.

They have all of my assets under their care but there is no way to speak to a human EVEN IF THERE IS FRAUD! I called their customer service line at different times and on different days for days and waited big chunks of time each time until I could no longer wait any longer - my longest wait time with no answer and music playing saying someone would "be right with me" and "your call is important to us" was over 45 minutes. It gives you the option to leave a message but the voicemail is always full.

I tried calling the customer service line that services businesses to notify them of the issue. The individual who answered was so rude and apathetic.

He said I don't know what you want me to do about it. Call them back. Thats the only number you can call.

For a company that hols your identity in their hands to demonstrate such carelessness and arrogance is unconscienable.

Desired outcome: Something from the company in writing of exactly how one may immediately access a human in the case of imminent fraud or inability to access their data (for reasons other than username and password)

Experian Reports delinquent accounts wrongly

May 9, 2022 I was denied cell service based on incorrect information provided by Experian stating I had delinquent accounts, high number of inquiries and listed as high risk.

The only truth listed is that I have not opened any credit cards in the last year.

I actually have only one credit card that I keep paid in full and have frozen my credit report due to Experians data breach.

My FICO score is now down to 551 although I live debt free.

Desired outcome: Correctly report that I have no outstanding credit balances and only one credit card with a zero balance when I apply for services such as cell phone and cable.

Experian Unfreeze my experian account so my lender can do a credit check.

Experian has a freeze on my account (I believe placed on all accounts because they had a security breach) I have attempted to unfreeze. To no avail. Their customer service is appalling. The phone menu has you going in circles. I tried to register an account as directed, they say I already have an account. Apparently this is a very old. They have an old email that I no longer have so I cannot change my password or access my username. When I attempted to set up an account, their website responded that it could not verify my identify. In order to verify I have to call to same number that has you going in circles. Or, I have to send mail. Yes, mail in documentation. All because Experian had a security breech. They are now impacting my ability to get a home equity line of credit. I am furious. And apparently I have no recourse because I can't reach anyone at Experian.

Experian Experian

I am trying to get Experian to update my credit profile to reflect the same information that is being reported by the other 2 bureaus, Equifax and Transunion. Experian will only report derogatory information. Failure to update my file is causing my credit request to be denied or the rates i'm being given ar much higher than what I the market offers.

Desired outcome: Would like for Experian to update my credit profile. Their failure to do so is costing me dearly.
