Our verdict: With eBay's very poor resolution rate, careful consideration is needed. Research their service comprehensively, and read up on how they handle customer disputes. If you face issues, be prepared for potential challenges in obtaining resolutions and explore other service providers as backups.

eBay Read before making a purchase, then decide. (100% honest review with pros & cons). *very long read!*

UPDATE:
Even when 'stiffed', I hardly EVER left bad Feedback for the Sellers, HOWEVER, on the last purchase (the phone which was financially locked), I did. Well, the bad feedback was REMOVED!

Upon checking as to why - I swear, I kid you NOT - I was advised that eBay now has a "Special Seller Program" which sellers can PAY to be opted into which (ready?) "allows sellers to have up to TEN BAD FEEDBACKS removed from their history"!

This is the last thing I will say on this matter: HOW can you trust a company that sells the option to remove REAL people's opinions on their purchases?

EBay and their practices = Grossly immoral and ethically remiss.

-------------------------------------------------------

There was a time where everywhere you went, the biggest buzz you could hear, was all about "eBay". Even when all the fervor died down, eBay still stood among one of the biggest consumer-to-consumer and business-to-consumer sales companies in the US. And rightfully so. They were doing a helluva LOT of business. Or more so, people were doing a helluva lot of business on it, with eBay reaping the profits from facilitating the transactions between "seller" and "buyer".

Not soon after, you began to hear rumblings and came across news stories about privacy issues, and how eBay seemed to operate with a blatant disregard and disrespect for their user's privacy concerns. MORE so, through their purchase of, and association with PayPal way back in 2003, they became a behemoth who began overstepping if not legal (well, that too), at least ethical and moral boundaries with respect to their customer's accounts and MONEY. To this day the company's attitude remains pretty cavalier about their business practices.

Now, as if privacy and MONEY concerns were not enough, eBay's biggest, cardinal, unforgivable sin (which seems to have not changed in all their years of operation) is a monopolistic and autocratic mentality, or, what THEY deem and decide is "right", is always right, even if it is WRONG; and what THEY say GOES, and damned be the consumer/buyer and damned be the customer/seller - as long as they can watch buyer and seller fight about certain transactions, while, again, eBay retains all the power and say-so... and can walk away with some of the profit.

In July of 2015 (IMO to revamp their fledgling profits by disassociating with the "bad guy" - each other) eBay and PayPal finally split into separate public companies. Laughably, this disassociation, was on paper only! Kind of like a husband and wife divorcing, but still continuing to live with each other as husband and wife. You see, at the time of said split, they signed a five-year operating agreement to maintain a 'close relationship'. Translation: pretty much the exact same relationship. "Honey, who gets to tell the kids we're taking a vacation with their after-school-job money?"

Anyway, while this company (eBay/PayPal at that time) continued to handle itself in disconcerting ways in regards to privacy issues, and within its relationship to its user's money, and crowned itself both "King/Queen Totalitarianism", sellers became disillusioned, and in turn, buyers became disillusioned, and a change began to occur in terms of all these disillusioned buyers and sellers.

Old BUYERS left and new buyers began to try out eBay. Worse of all, old SELLERS left, and new sellers arrived. The problem with these new arriving sellers? MOST are Chinese-based companies that sell..._JUNK_...! And, with the overwhelming popularity in wireless and communication devices that happened to occur around the same time, eBay was practically INVADED by a ginormous influx of cell phone, etc. "re-sellers". NOT good things to happen, and all the garbage I have purchased (and/or had to return) through eBay, is precisely what my review is about.

I joined eBay despite having had a bad experience with PayPal (see my old reviews); despite all the bad reviews I had read about doing business through them; and despite my Spidey-senses telling me not to. You see, I just HAD to have some new colored contact lenses I had found on a random link, and which I could not find elsewhere. I mean the ways in which youtube had shown me that these things changed green eyes to a subtle, ocean-like aqua-green paradise of sparkle, was just to die for! I HAD to have them. And a seller across the world, although they were not an item which could be sold on eBay, was selling them!

Although the order was flagged by eBay, the seller, had already shipped them, and I'd be lying if I said I was not thrilled with the purchase. I had some glorious contacts which I could not find in the US and I had them at a cost of a little less than what others who had purchased them wrote/said that they had paid for them. I was hooked.

My next purchase on eBay was an Android cell phone. (And no, dear reader, I will not bore you with every purchase I made. In fact, it actually pains me to look back and see how much junk I bought - so 'not gonna do it'). :) I was really pleased with it and the seller was lovely, and to be honest I had it for a couple of years and would have kept it forever if possible. It was a keeper and a fighter, as it had survived having green avocado-like salsa spilled all over it. Unfortunately, it was doomed when it fell into the bowl of chicken soup a few weeks later. DAMN YOU CELL PHONE REAPER! This phone however, was pretty much the last thing I bought off of eBay that I really loved, that lasted, or that did not arrive much differently than had been advertised.

Some of my other purchases included around EIGHT more phones (I kid you not), always trying to replicate that first glorious phone purchase - and falling short. EACH of them, (again, I kid you not) had defects - from minor to major. The very second phone I bought, was listed to the wrong carrier so I had to CHANGE carriers AND the microphone did not work which I did not know until after it was registered with the new carrier. (I was such an eBay newbie)! One, which had been listed as a *mintphone, had the image of what I can only construe to be the battery having burned through a little on the back cover. I will skip over all the others because I still have a lot to say, and not sure what the maximum number of characters is here. Lol. Who knows if you're even still with me. :) I hope you are. Let me just add that the very last one (and what prompted me to write THIS review) which I purchased a few days ago and received the day before last, was "Financially Locked." /facedesk

Now, a month before buying this 'last phone' which was "financially locked", I had used my coupons (more on these below) for the phone that seemed to have the battery burned into the back cover. Upon receipt of it, KNOWING that one of the coupons was about to expire, I PHONED eBay and asked them what to do. This phone was advertised as *mint*, yet was obviously far from it, but what would happen to my coupon? The eBay CSR guy was super sweet and said not to worry, to return it, and if needed, the expiration date on the coupon would be extended. In short, it wasn't.

Enter the series of nightmare calls which made me want to bang my head against the wall at the futility of dealing with some of the frozen few among a sea of vapid, clueless, eBay "representatives". You see, having purchased SUCH crap phones through them in the past, I had been granted some eBay coupons and PayPal bucks INSTEAD of refunds - one of which they had no record of, except for the fact that I used it twice (bought, returned item, used again). One of the people who 'granted' said coupons apparently picked up the price of the other phone I had already been "couponed" for and made the coupon for that, but by the time I saw it there was NO WAY I was going to call and complain, especially since the difference was only about $30. Well, I should have, because toward the end of all this (we'll get there) I think eBay thought I must have hacked my way into their system and awarded myself a $120 coupon. ROLLS EYES.

Finally, having given up on these calls after one representative said they WOULD indeed return the coupon and to give it a couple of days, yet a week later still not seeing it, I decided to look for the CEO of EBay and send him an email. I was NOT fishing for the coupon any longer and I wasn't even looking for an apology. I told him I was going to post my experience with eBay to my over 10k+ followers (hint, hint, hit me up ;)) across social media sites and that no amount of money (or a coupon) was worth the headaches and frustration. Not too long after, I received a call from a lady at eBay's executive office in regard to the email. I told her that I was not interested in any recompense and that we'd leave it at that. (That morning I had been looking to make a purchase with my last eBay bucks and to close out my account in order to add the image of my closed account to my reviews and posts). She insisted however, I explained, and she ultimately returned the coupon. Which brings me back to the financially locked phone - my last phone ever from eBay.

As the eBay bucks/coupons were to expire in the following two days I purchased the above-mentioned "last phone". Now, you MUST note that having had such an experience with these phones and other crappy items before, I WAS ARMED TO THE TEETH with supposed knowledge and a plan! I looked for Top Sellers with a rating of 99.5% and above, grade A or mint phones, no negatives in the last six months, etc. BEYOND that, when I found the phone I was interested in, I asked the seller for the IMEI number and I SPECIFIED the carrier I would be using it on (GenMobile which is a Sprint network). I thought I did everything right.

Obviously, I didn't. As stated above, when received and I attempted to activate it, I was advised that it was financially locked. THEN, almost as if to rub salt in the wound and twist the knife, I could not get my coupons back, because as I was told: "They had expired, and had only been granted as a courtesy." Sorry, but in what world is making good on a bad buy YOU are responsible for, a courtesy? Besides, did I ask for a 'courtesy' the countless times I bought other JUNK and had to keep it?

In the end, (as I did say I would include "pros"), I think eBay has the potential for being the dreamed-about company which people first wished it was when first instituted. They have all the tools. The problem is that in their blatant greed, they are their own worst enemy.

I DO love my contact lenses, though...

eBay ENCOURAGES FRAUD

ENCOURAGES FRAUD
CHARGES FOR DEFECTIVE SERVICE
VIOLATES CONSUMER RIGHTS
AND THEN EXTORTS THE CONSUMER'S FAMILY FOR NOT PAYING!

That is because they have the absolute WORST policies, complete lack of leadership, bad attitudes throughout the corporate hierarchy, do not properly train their staff, and in general show contempt for the consumer. If you look around online, you will see this sentiment is echoed by their own employees, including those who still work there. Even their current staff disapproves of how the company is being run.

Ebay aids and abets fraud through its policies. They violate consumer law by charging for defective service or service not received.

When it comes to buyer protection, they lack the resources and their staff lacks the proper training to effectively research and pass judgment on a claim. There is a complete lack of rational thinking and respect for the consumer, and no understanding of consumer law. All of their decisions in claims are based on inflating their bottom line, in reckless disregard for the consumer's rights or rights of the property holder.

I have lost hundreds of $ to ebay and their bungling. They have apologized to me more than once, but it just doesn't make up for the damage they have inflicted and continue to fail to address. And every time I have it out with them, I get another apology, another confirmation that I owe them nothing and that I have losses, immediately followed by a demand for $ I do not owe them. If my account balance is zero, what are they billing me for?

Every decision they make on any claim has more to do with limiting their own loss and risk, increasing their bottom line, and nothing at all to do with consumer protection or the correct, legal, or fair thing to do. They say one thing and then do the complete opposite.

Ebay tried to debit my bank for refund money in a bogus claim- money that had never been paid to me, from a buyer that had already been given an Unpaid-Item-Strike for non-payment. I was forced to change my bank account information to prevent ebay from debiting me and to sever my contacts with them.

I had to give up an ebay store where I had been successfully vending with a great reputation, which took me over a decade to build up. I was deprived of my client lists and my e-mail marketing lists and prevented from contacting my audience. I lost property as a result of ebay's errors, and I had no choice but to flea the website, fearing for the further loss of property and money, and they have the nerve to try to bill me for 2 months worth of store subscription fees that occurred AFTER they aided a con-artist and abetted fraud, during which time they left me waiting for follow-up resolution action they promised me in the first 72 hours and never provided for 2 1/2 months.

And all I get now is a promise from ebay that they will not try to debit me for that refund amount again, a worthless apology, and a request to pay them for 2 months of service that I do not want, service they themselves put on my account only because they did not follow up on the case in the first 72 hours as they guaranteed me they would, and for which their own reps have told me I do not owe. Why do I have to pay for the 2 1/2 months worth of time that they NEGLECTED me, on a fraudulent claim they never should have allowed in the first place?

I canceled and voided my contract with ebay on the basis of defective service, in accordance with my consumer rights. I would say that if a website allows another user to scam you for money they are not due, then tells you they will fix it in "not longer than 72 hours" and then does not act for 2 1/2 months, leaving you wide open to further fraud, that seems like pretty defective service to me. For ebay to then bill me for subscription fees during this time is an egregious violation of consumer trust.

I have spoken to their reps so many times, and they just do not have the mental capability to understand that any person would be unable to effectively transact anything on their website during that 2 1/2 months. How can you trust any of the transactions if any buyer can simply take money out of your bank without having paid it in the first place, and that will be not only allowed by ebay, but they will actually provide the means and method by which to steal from the seller? I am not talking about risk of loss or non-delivery here, but rather the original payment- as in, the buyer never paid, and ebay forced me to pay them instead. That is ebay-supported FRAUD.

I was on the phone with their resolutions department for over 2 hours, while they profusely apologized and explained to me that they simply never realized that anyone would use their new dispute resolution to steal money from sellers. Really? How can you put a dispute resolution system in place and be so stupid as to not foresee it being misused in that fashion? It flies in the face of reason. The mere fact that they allowed this gaping hole in their software and policies in the first place is alarming and should warrant some legal intervention.

At the end of that phone call, and after all the apologies, they invited me to open a new account and start fresh at a later date. So after my anger and dismay dissipated over the course of a year I did. I figured I would give them another chance, and see if they had fixed the enormous holes in the system. Well they shut my second account down, telling me I had "policy violations" on the first account! WHAT policy violations? Because i don't want to pay a scam artist money I don't owe? Because I exercised my right to void the contract and close the account when they engaged in shoddy, defective service that caused me to get ROBBED?

I have asked numerous account reps to confirm that my old, original account had a zero balance, and they told me yes it did, and nothing was owed, but then they tell me I have policy violations and an unpaid bill. They invited me to come back and use their site again and then shut me down for doing so. Then I got collections notices from them over this, and after showing the collections company all the info, they refused to collect it for ebay, because it was a bogus bill, and I don't owe them anything. They are just harassing me for sticking up for myself and for exposing the poorly designed system they put in place.

To add insult to injury, I ended up on the other end of an INR claim with ebay, when buying on my second account that they invited me to open and then closed when I complained, I had to file not one but TWO chargebacks for items I never received. At least I actually PAID the sellers before filing INR, and ebay was going to refuse to give my money back when I received nothing at all. So much for their new "buyer protection". It only protects them, ebay. NO one else.

Ebay made a mistake and misread the tracking info, declined me for a refund even though I never got the products, even on appeal, they simply could not examine a simple tracking system and see those items had been delivered to the wrong place. I did pay the bill and never got my purchases, so I had my bank reverse the transactions and override ebay's decision and get my money back. Every time ebay missteps and steals from me, I have to rely on my bank to shield me and protect me from ebay's bungling and stupidity.

This is because their staff is poorly trained, cannot learn to read tracking information, or they just plain don't bother to look at claims at all and make rulings based on their own corporate profit margins. If they feel they can sacrifice you more easily than the other party, then that is how they rule the decision, even when no money has been exchanged! They do not care one iota for the consumer. They only care about money. IF the buyer is making them a higher profit margin, they rule in his favor. I guess I just wasn't making enough money for ebay, so they have a standing policy of throwing me under the bus.

Can you see what is happening here? I've got 3 cases in the space of about 2-3 years- one case where I was ordered by ebay to repay money that was never paid to me. THAT IS FRAUD. SUPPORTED BY EBAY.

And then 2 cases where I was guaranteed protection against non-delivery, where I DID pay the sellers, and was refused a refund by ebay, despite bogus and faulty tracking. And in all 3 of those cases, ebay has been proven WRONG and responsible for my losses.

BUT WAIT! IT GETS WORSE!

After all of this, my mom wanted to sell some things on ebay to make some extra $, and despite my warnings against it I could not convince her otherwise. "Forget it and move on" was the attitude, because we figured what were the odds of this happening again? And we've got the bank on speed-dial now in case of any claim being filed against her or me on ebay, we simply call our bank and change our bank account info before ebay even responds to a dispute, as a preventative measure, as we know that ebay has a history of doing the wrong thing and siding with the wrong party.

So I helped her out by giving my mother some of my things to sell on her own ebay site, which was registered solely in her name, at her address, in a different state, with completely separate registration information, separate banking info, and account history going back years.

There was no connection between the 2 accounts other than the fact that we are related, and I gifted my mom my old childhood toys (which were already stored at her own home, shipped from her home, some of which she herself paid for 25 years prior when I was a child!) for her to sell and make some $.

And ebay had the nerve to shut down my mother's account and instructed her to take action on my old account and to pay my "bill". The same bill that I DO NOT OWE them, that their own account reps recognize as a giant BLUNDER, because they have no right charging me, and I canceled my contract with them.

I have even called them to argue about this and settle it, and have been told by more than one customer service rep that my account balance is zero and I owe nothing, and that "someone failed to finalize the release of your account". Then they put me on hold to go do this, come back on the phone, and ask me for $200 again!

And then they shut down my mom's account and literally instructed her to "take action" on my account, which is ILLEGAL. That is EXTORTION. I do not have any legal rights towards my mother's account, and she does not have any legal rights toward mine. I'm an adult. I'm in my thirties! My parents are not legally bound to pay for my billing disputes.
Yet here is ebay refusing my mother service on her account which is in good standing and telling her that she can't get service until she pays a bill in someone else's name for the sole reason that we are related. Is ebay a loan shark now? Is that the behavior we can expect from ebay in the future? That is what the mafia does. Is ebay the Mafia? Because they sure do act like it.

She doesn't even know my password and had no way to get into the old account. And it is nearly impossible to get any help from customer service. It is just non-existent. We've got customer service telling us to respond by e-mail and e-mails that say we can only call to get a resolution. When the original fraud occurred on my original account, I was left on hold with ebay for over 40 minutes just to be disconnected without ever speaking to an account rep. It took them 2 1/2 months to call me back. 2 years later, and when my mother calls to fix her illegally restricted account, she is referred back to her e-mail, which refers her to call which refers back to e-mail...
Bottom line: EBAY SCREWED UP and they are shoving my entire family under the rug for it.

We asked the state's attorney's general's office in our home state of NJ, and they were mortified that ebay would demand that my mom take action on an account that does not belong to her, for $ that is not owed (by ebay's own admission), and all because ebay goofed and allowed a fraudulent INR claim to be processed over 2 years prior.

This is the kind of vindictive, unlawful behavior that ebay has become synonymous with. This is why on chat forums the world over it has achieved the nickname "evil-bay".

This company needs to be gutted from the top down, and it's corporate leadership entirely replaced with people who have a soul, an IQ, and a conscience.

I have gone as far as to lodge complaints with BBB and the states' attorneys general, and I got a reply from ebay's office of the president that complained about my "attitude". HA! MY attitude? Are they kidding?! In light of what has happened, I don't think my own attitude is the one at issue here. And just imagine telling any other customer anywhere in a retail situation their mother should pay their bill because of their attitude. They are just begging for a lawsuit.

Please excuse me if this reads as a rant, but that is what ebay deserves: A RANT that exposes the corruption and utter lack of ethics that have become the core character of what was once a simple classifieds list. How far they have sunk! If I could give them a negative star, I would F-- and please picture me spitting on the floor in disgust.

eBay Who will supervise eBay?

Who will supervise eBay?

On January 24,2020, the U.S. government announced: "... The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) believes that the current state of e-commerce is an intolerable and dangerous situation that must be resolved immediately." For more information, please see here Link (https://www.practicalecommerce.com/new-us-regulations-on-counterfeit-goods-target-marketplaces). At the time, I thought the US government was too exaggerated. This may be a political performance. But my experience now tells me that reality may be worse than what the US government claims. The reason for this phenomenon is that eBay is not subject to any supervision.
My experience of buying fake meteorites on eBay can prove the above conclusion.
In the process of buying meteorites on eBay, I found that some people carefully planned traps to deceive consumers into buying fake meteorites. Because I fell into a trap carefully designed by these crooks, I couldn't seek justice through the law. Please refer to my article for details. I also put this article at the end of this article for your reference. Https :// www.sitejabber. Com/users/marys2135? Utm_source=transactional%20email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=weekly%20views%20update&utm_content=text%3A%20reviews

Although these scammers are smart, they cannot successfully deceive consumers without the help of eBay. As long as eBay requires these scammers to disclose enough information to consumers, eBay can help consumers avoid being deceived. Therefore, I wrote to eBay to explain the details and put forward the following requirements:
"A, these meteorite dealers are requested to provide meteorite identification certificates issued by the Meteorological Society, or provide similar evidence to prove that their meteorites are classified by the Meteorological Society. Otherwise, eBay should refuse to help these crooks sell "Meteorological Society meteorites", and It is prohibited to copy the web pages of the "Meteorological Society" into its product introduction.
B. If they are unable to provide evidence, they are required to clearly explain to consumers that the authenticity of their meteorites can only be guaranteed through their "credit".
If meteorite distributors can complete the above-mentioned information disclosure, consumers will not have any complaints even if they are cheated. "

However, to my surprise, eBay rejected my request. My request is obviously reasonable, why would eBay refuse? I think eBay accepted bribes from these scammers. If eBay agrees to my request, these crooks will obviously not be able to sell fake meteorites.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. Therefore, I published the above article this world-renowned meteorite forum (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/) to remind meteorite consumers not to be deceived. However, I was surprised again that my article was deleted only a few hours later, and they deleted my account at the same time.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. So I complained to BBB (https://www.bbb.org/). I think that with BBB's reputation, eBay should be able to face the problems I raised. However, eBay still refused to answer any of my questions and no longer cooperated with BBB's mediation. I was very surprised by eBay's behavior. BBB can't make eBay communicate with me. Is there a huge benefit in selling fake meteorites? Therefore, I carefully studied eBay's meteorite business. I found that selling fake meteorites is indeed a lucrative business. There are more than 17,000 "meteorites" for sale on eBay at any time. The most expensive "meteorite" sells for $1.5 million.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. Therefore, I report to the "Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), www.ic3.gov" according to the instructions of the BBB. But I did not receive any response.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. For this reason, I filed a complaint with the "California Department of Consumer Affairs" in accordance with BBB's instructions, but did not receive any response.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. I followed the BBB's instructions to report eBay to "www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov", but did not receive any response.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. So I filed a complaint with the Department of Justice of all states in the United States. Some state justice departments responded to my complaint. They told me that they have no jurisdiction over eBay. They suggested that I file a complaint with the California Department of Justice where eBay is located.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. So I filed a complaint with the California Department of Justice about eBay. I report eBay on the California Department of Justice website every day, but I haven't received any response. Therefore, I asked the Department of Justice of other states for help, and they suggested that I file a complaint with the California State Assemblyman.

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. So I wrote to all California lawmakers that the California Department of Justice obstructed justice. Many California lawmakers forwarded my letter of complaint to the California Department of Justice. The California Department of Justice still refused to respond to my complaint, but the California Department of Justice responded to some members of Congress by asking me to lodge a complaint with the District Attorney of Santa Clara County where eBay is located. Part of the reply from a certain member is as follows:
"I suggest you follow the advice of the AG office and contact the local district or city lawyer in the city where eBay is located. You should be able to find this information in the link sent by my DOJ liaison below."

I am very reluctant to let these scammers continue to deceive consumers. Therefore, I filed a complaint with the District Attorney in Santa Clara County, where eBay is located, and they responded to my complaint. Their email is as follows:
"Thank you for contacting the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office to report an online fraud. Our mediation program is meant to help resolve consumer issues between businesses and their customers. Unfortunately, the situation you describe is outside the scope of the mediation services we offer.
In this case, our office recommends that you report the incident to the local law enforcement agency. We also recommend that you report online fraud to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) (https://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx). "
"Finally, we also recommend that you pass ***357 (https://www.ftc.gov/slideshow-items/report-scam) and the Federal Attorney General's Office ***225 (Https :// oag.ca.gov/consumers). Both organizations accept complaints about fraud."

Although I am unwilling to let these crooks continue to deceive consumers, I no longer know what to do now. I have reported eBay to (IC3.gov) and (ftc.gov), but I have not received any response. I also reported to the California Attorney General's Office, but did not receive any response. So far, no law enforcement agency is willing to help consumers.

I just hope eBay will stop helping scammers continue to deceive consumers. But no law enforcement agency is willing to help consumers, and no agency can regulate eBay. EBay can defraud anyone without any punishment.
Consumers obviously can neither expect the government to protect them, nor can eBay stop deceiving them. Consumers can only refusing to buy any goods on eBay to protect them.

Everything I said above is fact. I look forward to a reporter who can tell consumers this all. If you needs more information, you can contact me via this email. ***@outlook.com

The following is article exposing eBay selling fake meteorites.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accuses eBay of covering up the truth about its sale of fake meteorite

I published an article on your website that revealed that scammers sell fake meteorite on eBay. Please refer to the following link: https://www.ripoffreport.com/report/ebay/san-jose-california-ibe-e-***
Or check the last part of this article, I will place the article at the end of this article for your reference.

Since this article is an article that exposes scammers to sell fake meteorite on eBay, I think it is necessary to remind more meteorites consumers not to continue to be scammed by scammers, so I also published this article on the largest meteorite forum in the world, Please refer to this link: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/
My article was deleted by this forum in just a few hours, and my registered account was frozen. Please refer to the photos I sent to you.

On January 24,2020, the US government announced: "... DHS finds the current state of e-commerce to be an intolerable and dangerous situation that must be addressed firmly and swiftly", please refer to this link for details, (https://www.practicalecommerce.com/new-u-s-regulations-on-counterfeit-goods-target-marketplaces). At that time, I thought that the US government was exaggerating and might be a political show. But now my experience tells me that the reality may be worse than the US government claims.

My article published on the world's largest meteorite forum (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/) only existed for a few hours, and my account was frozen. This makes me feel terrified, eBay has the unimaginable ability to make my articles disappear within a few hours. EBay has always announced to the public that they put consumer interests first. But the real situation is that once consumers are hurt, eBay's priority is to silence the victims and continue to deceive other consumers.

Freedom of speech is the basic belief of the United States. If consumers do not have the right to speak, then all the rights granted to consumers are false. They deprived me of my freedom of speech, so I have no way to help these cheated meteorite consumers. Do you have other ways to help these cheated meteorite consumers?
I urge you to save meteorite consumers who are still cheated.

If you want to confirm that what I said above is correct, just register an account on this meteorite forum (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/meteorites/), then post my article, and then observe this article Whether it will be deleted. The following are the articles they deleted.

How to successfully sell fake meteorite on eBay?

EBay gave up the supervision of these scammers is the main reason, but these scammers are indeed very smart, they have designed a series of traps to deceive consumers and escape legal sanctions.

So how can scammers successfully sell fake meteorite while avoiding the penalties of the law?
The first important method is that the meteorite must be sold according to the Meteoritical Society (https://meteoritical.org/) classification criteria. Because the Meteoritical Society is the world's highest authority for the identification and classification of meteorites, selling meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria will make consumers feel safe and relax their vigilance.

The Meteoritical Society's method of classifying meteorite has two important characteristics.
A, The Meteoritical Society names meteorites based on where they fell on Earth. B, all the meteorites in the fall site share only one name, which means that The Meteoritical Society is only studying the fragments of one of the meteorites, and then give this fragment a name. All meteorites found in this area (The Meteoritical Society does not indicate how big this area is) use this name, whether there is one meteorite in this area or there are 1 million meteorites.
Consumers often mistakenly believe that the name given to a meteorite by The Meteoritical Society is the unique name of this meteorite. In fact, this is a common name for a group of meteorites. This name is not given to the name of a certain meteorite, but to all meteorite found in this area. For example, they sell a meteorite named "NWA111" on eBay. In fact, this is one of all meteorites (or fragments of one of them) in the area of "NWA111".

So what evidence do these crooks use to prove that the meteorites they sell are the meteorites in this area (eg NWA111)?
These scammers are completely relying on "imagination" to prove that their meteorite is a meteorite classified by The Meteoritical Society. The reasons are as follows:
A, The Meteoritical Society only identified and classified the fragments of one of the meteorite found in this area, and refused to disclose to the public their basis and process of identifying the meteorite. The Meteoritical Society's research on meteorite is completely secret. Obviously, these scammers cannot obtain evidence from The Meteoritical Society to prove that their meteorite and the "meteorite fragment" named by The Meteoritical Society were found in the same place.
B. Meteorites classified by The Meteoritical Society all share the same name, but The Meteoritical Society has not announced how many such meteorites are in this area, nor how big this area is. The Meteoritical Society also does not provide identification certificates for meteorites, so these scammers obviously cannot obtain evidence from The Meteoritical Society to prove that their meteorite is the meteorite in this area.
C, The Meteoritical Society names meteorites based on where they fell to the earth. If the same meteorite (a meteorite with exactly the same chemical composition) is scattered in 100 different places on the earth, then this meteorite will There are 100 names. The meteorite called NWA111 sells for $100/g, another meteorite called NWA222 sells for $10,000/g. In fact, these two meteorites are the same meteorites, but they fell to different places. If the price of NWA222 is always 10,000 US dollars or higher, then someone will use NWA111 to impersonate NWA222. So selling meteorites according to the classification standards of The Meteoritical Society will inevitably lead to extreme confusion. This method is obviously not suitable for the meteorite trade.

These scammers know that selling meteorites according to the standards classified by the Meteoritical Society will inevitably lead to extreme confusion. But why should these scammers sell meteorites in this way?
These scammers have two major advantages in selling meteorites in this way:
A, If scammers sell meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria, which will give consumers an illusion that the meteorites they sell are all identified and classified by The Meteoritical Society. In fact, this is a trap. The Meteoritical Society has no legal responsibility for any meteorites sold by scammers. The Meteoritical Society does not provide any identification services for meteorites. In fact, all meteorites sold by these scammers do not have a meteorite identification certificate issued by the Meteoritical Society. However, they added the Meteoritical Society's webpage to the product introduction column to give consumers a feeling that the meteorites they sold have been identified and classified by the Meteoritical Society. The Meteoritical Society even has no legal obligation even for any meteorites they name. Because The Meteoritical Society did not disclose the basis and process of their classification of meteorite, so they have no legal obligation to the authenticity of the "meteorite" that they named.
B, as scammers can sell meteorites in this chaotic mode to escape legal supervision. Although they claim that these meteorites have been classified and named by The Meteoritical Society, the meteorites they sold did not have a meteorite identification certificate issued by The Meteoritical Society, nor did they provide consumers with any evidence to prove that their meteorite is the meteorite that named by The Meteoritical Society. These scammers all claim to use their "credit" to guarantee the authenticity of the meteorite. As long as the scammers use their "imagination" and "credit" to guarantee the authenticity of their meteorite, then they can evade any legal obligations. No matter how much amount of fake meteorite they sell, they cannot be punished by law. No matter how much money consumers are cheated, they can't get justice through the law. As long as consumers buy meteorites according to the Meteoritical Society classification criteria, they fall into a trap.

The second important method of these scammers is "monopoly", the scammers on eBay are a family.
If a company (or an individual) sells fake meteorite for a long time, it will inevitably attract the attention of law enforcement agencies. However, frequent change of the seller's name is not conducive to establishing popularity and prestige among consumers. So it is a good idea to set up a meteorite dealer association. The scammers set up a meteorite dealer association ---IMCA (https://imca.cc). This meteorite dealer association is similar to a company, and the meteorite dealers who sell meteorite are similar to many departments within a company. These meteorite dealers (or the company's departments) all claim to be members of IMCA. This has the advantage of increasing consumer awareness and trust of IMCA members, and thus monopolizing the sale of meteorites on eBay. Consumers will mistakenly believe that these meteorite dealers are independent individuals, they are in a competitive relationship, BUT their credit is guaranteed by IMCA. So consumers think they can buy meteorites from IMCA members with confidence. In fact, these IMCA members are a family.
The following facts can prove that they are a family, other meteorite dealers cannot join them.
The following text is on their website: "You will need the recommendations of two IMCA members for your application to be considered for approval. Please contact your two IMCA members and ask them if they are willing to submit a recommendation for you. These recommendations can be sent via email to ***@imca.cc."
You can also read on their website for details(https://imca.cc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3&Itemid=13)
This evidence is sufficient to prove that IMCA members are a family.
The reason why they want consumers to think that their members are independent is to shirk their legal responsibilities. Once a consumer finds himself cheated, IMCA will come out and pretend to coordinate the conflict between his members and consumers. They want consumers to think that "the bad " is only the individual in the middle of IMCA, and IMCA as a whole will always only do the right and honest things. If one of the members of IMCA (similar to a company's department) can't get rid of the consumer's entanglement, they can fire "the bad", just like Gecko sacrificed his tail.
IMCA also has this text on its website: "Disclaimer
The I. M. C. A., Inc. (International Meteorite Collectors Association Inc.) prohibits members from engaging in any illegal activity in connection with meteoritic material. However, THE I. M. C. A. IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY OF ITS MEMBERS. "
Please refer to their website for detailed content, https://imca.cc/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=15
The above text can prove that IMCA will not bear any responsibility. The purpose of the establishment of IMCA is to gain the advantage of monopoly, not to assume any obligations.
This is why these scammers can successfully sell fake meteorite on eBay. First of all, they deliberately sold their meteorite with the Meteoritical Society classification standard. Although they all know that the Meteoritical Society classification standard is only suitable for meteorite research, it is impossible to use this standard for real meteorite trade. This standard can only cause confusion, but these scammers need this kind of confusion, so that they can use the authority of the Meteoritical Society to deceive consumers, and they can use the confusion of the Meteoritical Society's classification standards to escape legal supervision.
Another means is to establish an association like IMCA to gain an overall monopoly advantage, and can sacrifice individual when necessary to evade legal sanctions.

I have repeatedly warned eBay that these scammers use their management loopholes to sell fake meteorite, and hope they refuse to help these scammers. But it is a pity that eBay completely ignored my warning. EBay seems to value their 10% commission more, however completely ignores the interests of consumers who trust them. Without ebay to help them, this scam model of these scammers cannot be maintained for a long time.
EBay is actually can very easy to help his consumers, all eBay needs to do is:
A, Ask these meteorite dealers to provide meteorite identification certificates issued by the Meteoritical Society, or provide similar evidence to prove that their meteorites are meteorites classified by the Meteoritical Society. Otherwise, eBay should refuse to help these scammers sell "the Meteoritical Society's meteorite", and prohibit the copying of the Meteoritical Society's web page into its product introduction.
B. If they cannot provide evidence, they are required to clearly explain to consumers that the authenticity of their meteorite can only be guaranteed by their "credit".
If meteorite dealers can complete the above information disclosure, consumers will not have any complaints even if they are cheated.

Unfortunately, eBay is not willing to help consumers, they are more willing to draw a 10% commission from meteorite dealers. So I published this article to request you to help consumers get justice.

eBay Super shopping site

You can get massive deals on this site well known for it. But have to be careful and use only the Ebay special star sellers or get conned. I had a bad experience with one of the sellers so most definitely be careful. Received fake items and no refunds possible cuz the seller went off after the quick bargain price sale. One of the best sites for bargains. Recommended.

eBay Absolutely fantastic site

Great shopping on-line but when i comes to selling be very careful as you can get into debt like i have when things are automatically re-listed if you tick the box. But overall i think they could be a little bit more fair regarding listing fees and also regarding holding funds as a new customer /seller but they still like taking their fees thats what is really frustrating. But as a buyer great site 100% recommend Shane, Manchester uk.

eBay Like all classified sites, ebay has its share of scammers

Like all classified sites, ebay has its share of scammers and share of touts. They are not alone though and they do take "Trust & Safety" seriously. Touts put tickets on eBay becasue people want to buy them - that's what a marketplace is.

I have found eBay to be very useful of the years. I'm not a massive user but I've made around 50 purchases and I've never been scammed yet. Just be careful, use your common sense and you'll find eBay is a fantastic place to find what you need.

eBay An Ebay beginner's, beginners guide to Ebay

An Ebay beginner's, beginners guide to Ebay

Yes, a site to find everything you need, everything you don't need and everything you didn't know you didn't need. I've used it for a little while now but am still on a learning curve; god how I hate that term!

Ebay is a wonderful institution but before we gaze lovingly in awe at its wonders, lets get the grey matter set. I have found exceptional bargains and not just by bidding but also in "buy now"(a phillips 920 shaver for ?40.00, rrp about ?160.00). Bidding for items indiscriminately can lead to disappointment, anger, less money and looking a pratt when your friends and loved ones find out. Do your research, check the cheapest price you can buy an item for. Set your maximum price and stick to it, if you lose that one, there's usually another around the proverbial corner; I've seen a "used" (one careful owner, used by a bread-hating little old lady type) breadmaker sell for a good deal more than the exact same new one would cost. Also, think postage! Sad I know but we must all think postage at sometime in our lives.

And finally, ever wondered what Ebay stands for? Go on you secretly have, haven't you. Anyway originally Echo Bay Technologies but the web name Echo Bay was taken, so second choice Ebay. Go on admit it you really wanted to know that.

eBay MONEY BACK POLICY MISLEADING ON EBAY

Below you will see my ebay correspondence after purchasing items from a seller. The seller it seems posted a package to the wrong address and had the package returned to him/her. The seller then used this tracking number to inform ebay that he/she did post the item and had a tracking number. When I contacted the courier I was given a reference number for the case showing that the package was returned to the seller and signed as having been received by the seller and not me (the recipient). I provided all of this information to ebay who ruled in favour of the seller, ignored repeatedly the evidence I provided to them, and added insult to injury by removing my negative feedback from the sellers Ebay page. To date I am out of my money, with no product and no access to the money back guarantee EBAY advertises on their site. Further they have even removed the transaction from my account HISTORY. Thank goodness I have screen shots of it. EBAY IS ENABLING BANDITS AND ENGAGING IN UNLAWFUL ACTIVITY TOWARD CUSTOMERS. Below is the most recent correspondence from them:

Not only have you (EBAY):
1. Enabled a thief on your market place by refusing to refund me my money on your money back guarantee policy since I provided proof to you that the seller has the goods in his possession and also refused to refund or reship the goods but you
2. Removed my negative customer feedback without just cause and thus muted me as a customer with the right to give feedback on my experience and further
3. You removed the purchase transaction from my EBAY purchase history located in my 'private ' account

All of the above is tantamount to unlawful and unfair trade practices. As a result I have put my review including all details and copies of ebay documents on a global review page so that the world can see what EBAY.UK 's policy is to customers and EBAYS FALSE ADVERTISING OF THE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE to lure unsuspecting customers into a feeling of trust.

YOUR RESPONSE TO ME IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND UNLAWFUL!

Previous Message Follows

UPDATE

I tried again to contact ebay to right their wrong via messages from my account page and via telephone - they ran me around from one operator to the next until the final one hung up the phone. It seems to me that ebay's policy is to protect the sellers who bring them business thus the 'money back policy' they advertise is just there to entice customers into a false sense of safety. I told them that I would blog them - it didn't seem to bother them much.

So I took it a step further by putting in a complaint on my PAYPAL and escalated the matter immediately since I had tried communicating with the seller and ebay. The evidence is clear that the ebay seller is a thief and has probably scammed various people with this same tactic. I also learned that a number of them post empty boxes to your home so that they can show a tracking number and delivery + receipt by the customer. Bunch of scam artist they are. Nevertheless my claim with paypal went through and i PROVIDED ALL THE EVIDENCE TO PROVE MY CASE which was also sent to ebay- who ignored it. PAYPAL RULED IN MY FAVOUR. Will update when I actually receive the funds in my account.

THE EBAY BANDIT listed as living in Blackpool UK - a depressed seaside town - saw this review and attempted to spam my facebook business page with unintelligible and offensive language. Its amazing the extent people will go to steal other people's money. To you BURNSFESTIVALFUNFAIR - ( and you are lucky I haven't put your real name because I have that too) these are my final words:-

"THOU SHALL NOT STEAL!"

Hello Tricia, Thank you for writing back to eBay Customer Service in relation to the bag (item ***) you bought from "burnsfestivalfunfair". I am sorry to hear that the seller refused to refund you for this transaction though the item was returned back to them. Let me assist you with this. I have thoroughly reviewed all of the details of your case again today but please understand that, as previously explained, we cannot overturn our original decision, and we cannot grant your appeal because seller provided tracking showing that the item was delivered to your address. If you are wondering what your next steps should be in relation to this transaction, please refer to our previous emails on the matter. Remember you are covered with eBay's Money Back Guarantee programme once you meet our terms and conditions, for more information please see our page below; http://pages.ebay.co.uk/ebay-money-back-guarantee/index.html I understand this isnt the answer you were hoping for but I know Ive explained our decision clearly. I wish you all the best on eBay in the future. Kind regards, Mica D. EBay Customer Service
