As someone deeply involved in the financial industry, I understand the importance of reliable services. Looking at the reviews, it's clear that Discover Financial Services has received a mix of feedback. While some customers have praised the customer service and cashback benefits, others have expressed dissatisfaction with issues like unauthorized charges, customer service interactions, and account closures without proper communication. It's crucial to weigh these experiences carefully before deciding to engage with Discover Financial Services.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Absolutely love this card. Use it for just about everything!

Best card EVER, period! Awesome customer service and even more awesome cardholder rewards. I use it as my primary card because it's like leaving money on the table otherwise, given their cashback rewards and other great perks.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover

I have a Savings account and I have a credit card with Discover. They offer a higher annual interest rate than my credit union. They do not charge me fees for maintaining my account. The credit card does offer competitive cash rewards for everyday purchases. The rewards change quarterly.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services I don't know where else to put this so here goes

I don't know where else to put this so here goes. People! Did you know that Discover credit card company will issue a one time use credit card number that doesn't cost a cent extra? Sure it takes a minute (or less) but the headaches it saves are unbelievable. No more bogus charges showing up on your bill. No more having to get a new card issued. Your "shorthairs" will once again be free! HA, take that you rip off web sites.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services The Bank you could ACTUALLY like!

No, I do not work for Discover Bank, nor am I affiliated in any way. Just a satisfied consumer. I am tired of paying interest on credit cards, and never seeing the balance dropping by much. I went to a bank I had been doing business with for years (and paid off 2 mortgages) and they gave me the run around. Maybe they ran out of money to lend? Right. So I decided to apply to Discover through an Email I received from them. I found them to be very respectful, professional, and eager to make it work for me. Within the day, I had my approval! Thanks Discover for a pleasant experience!

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Highly reccomend

I started with discover in 2008 when I was in credit card card. Their zero interest for 2 years card at the time got me out out credit card debt. Since then, I have had nothing but positive experiences. For my spending habits, they offer the best rewards. Last month I got $57 in rewards. Their online banking and account management is easy to use. Customer service is excellent. Fraud detection is excellent and they called me when an issue came up last year before I knew anything was wrong. Discover has been an excellent bank to work with and I look forward to many more years with them.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE

We all know how hard it is to speak with a representative, not with this bank. You will not listen to pages and pages of advertisement, you will hear grumbling but a cheerful live person after only two question. I have not found any other bank with this kind of service. Great, reliable customer service who answers your call immediately... remember being forced to listen to pages and pages of a recording message and then jumping to another recording message and at the end of 15 minutes you may just get disconnected? Not here with Discover... you get efficient and prompt answer from a live person... what a difference... well, they'll get my business.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services 1 year Customer

I have 1 credit card with them as well as 1 checking account and 2 savings accounts.

I pay my credit card in full each month. Have gotten 2 credit line increases, by my request. Take advantage of their 5% categories each quarter. And looking forward to earning my cash back match soon, which with the standard cash back match will be just over $600!

I use this checking account to only pay my landlord. I am able to transfer funds from my primary bank into this account seamlessly. It does take a few days between my bank and discover bank for the transfer. My landlord gets their check on time without fail. I don't take advantage of the cash back on this account. I use my credit cards as debit cards so that no one, besides my landlord has this account information.

My 1 savings account, is being used to save for my down payment to a future home purchase. Taking advantage of the, now, 2% interest rate. In the 6 months of this accounts life, the APR started off at 1.6% and is currently at 2.0% earning a massive $28, to date. My primary bank, is currently at 0.01% with a similar balance and has only earned about $0.20 in the same amount of time.

My other savings account is used to hold funds for my mother who comes to my home and gets my son on the school bus. She refuses payment. So, I drop her "payment" into this account. If she's low on funds and needs help with gas for her car, I simply move the funds from her account into my home savings. It all works out. This account, with much much much less than my primary bank is actually outperforming my primary and has already earned $0.12 interest in its 2 months of existence.

I really see the value of Discovers Services, looking at other reviews, it makes me thankful, that I am reaping the rewards that are offered.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Why would you want to bank at Discover Bank?

Why would you want to bank at Discover Bank?
Here it is year 2021 and Discover Bank still mails things that can be posted in your account on their site as if it were back in the early 1900's when they were established. They insist that everything needs to be mailed. Do they get a kickback from the post office? There are other banks and credit unions that use their sites to 'send you letters', but apparently Discover has not figured out how to do this. You should be able to sign into your account, go to 'Secure Message' and get whatever it is that they feel needs to be read. These other banks that call themselves online banks do that. I am still trying to figure out why Discover cannot. I went through the bother of investigating the Federal Banking Rules & Regs to find within those articles & sub-articles that any and ALL communications need to be "mailed or delivered". And I spoke with a Federal Banking lawyer who explained that the "or delivered" refers to the bank's ability to post it in a *Secure Messageportal on the website rather than mail. I pointed this out to Discover and they stated that it is not in their policy to do that. WHY? No reason given. "Just because I said so", I guess would be the answer. When I first started with them, they were a better company. Since then, they have been going downhill to being less than helpful and more inconsiderate towards the planet.
In a nutshell, it is Discover's policy to add to the landfill, let you be vulnerable to identity theft (unless you want to pay for their "Identity Theft Protection" plan) and get your mail late (the post office states that it takes 7-10 business days for mail). So if it is important, it is already too late. Are you sure you want to do business with them?
= = = = =
Let me warn you about Discover Bank. They will do things 'their' way and if you have any suggestions or requests, do not be surprised that it will be left on deaf ears.
I have been trying for the past 6 or 7 years to get them to be paperless and they have gotten back to me that they will continue to destroy our planet and there is nothing we can do about it. Okay, maybe I am exaggerating, but the sentiment is the same. I have been asking that they not send mail but rather use their secure message center. They insist that they will continue to use mail since that will comply with *theirbusiness practices. They will email when statements are due but that is the only thing that is paperless.
We need to get all banks and credit unions to become totally paperless ? for those of us who prefer not to receive pieces of mail that can lead to identity theft, spousal abuse, wasted money, wasted time, and, of course, landfill pollution. I understand that there are some who prefer paper, but it should be an option. To have to sign into the secure message center separately from signing in with either the same password or a password just for the message center. This was also a suggestion.
I did 3 days of research on the Federal Banking Laws & Regulations and found that within the articles and sub-articles, there is a phrase that states: any and all correspondence must be mailed or delivered. I then was able to speak with a banking lawyer and was advised that the "or delivered" meant that if the bank has a means of a "secure message center/ board", then the correspondence can be inserted there and NOT be mailed. I brought this to Discover's attention, and they still prefer living in the 19th century ? in the belief that the Pony Express still lives.
There is also a website for financial institutions that expresses most of my same concerns. The website is:
https://www.accrue.tech/paperless-document-management-in-banking
I sent this to the CEO of Discover (Roger Horchschild) and never heard back. I guess he either did not like that I can do more than his people, or he chooses to be stuck in the past.
So, if you are looking for a financial institution, please do not consider Discover Bank. If you have a credit card, you are fairly safe. That side of Discover does its best to keep people happy.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover Card Disputes Process is a Fraud Against Discover Card Holders

I employed use of my Discover Card to hire Mark S.Guarlnick (hereinafter M.S.G.) a Cherry Hill, New Jersey based attorney who claimed to have Elder Law expertise. In fact he was referred to me by the Burlington County NJ Bar Association, as it turns out, a private advertising club for any licensed attorney who timely pays their annual dues. The Association does absolutely nothing to discern, let alone ensure member competency in any area of law which they pay the Association to refer potential clients both seeking and in need of competent legal representation. I hired M.S.G. To prepare, file and defend a Guardianship Petition in Burlington County Superior Court on behalf of my elderly mother whose assets were under threat from Elizabeth, my sister/her daughter (a sociopath, narcissist, borderline personality disordered, and kleptomaniac as defined per minimum diagnostic criteria in the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual on Mental Disorders," Volume 5, (DSM5), as adopted and published by the American Psychiatric Association in 2013) who conned our mother following a minor stroke into giving her Power of Attorney (POA) over her health care and business decisions. Elizabeth then stole $100,000 in our mother's savings and investments, plus our residence since June 23,1963, and then relocated her like a chess piece to at least a half dozen different nursing homes in at least two NJ counties over a 2 1/2 year period until her death on February 17,2020. Among other things, Elizabeth prevented our helpless mother from preparing a will, communicating with any member of her extensive social network (Willingboro Friendship Guild where she was recording secretary, Willingboro Senior Citizen Center where she crocheted articles of clothing for child burn victims and veterans, Corpus Christi Church Altar and Rosary Society, ceramics painting lessons in Edgewater Park, etc. Her social schedule put mine to shame.) voting (since moving to Willingboro in 1963, she never missed a vote, but that came to an end in 2017), traveling outside the walls of any of the institutions she was in fact entombed in under lock and key by Elizabeth, engaging in any recreational or civic association activities (she loved traveling in the Spring to see blossoming flowers which she painted, the Fall to see leaves changing colors, and the winter when she enjoyed seeing Christmas holiday lights on display), receiving dental care, and even practicing the religion of her choice and even meeting with a priest (a devout Catholic since birth), in fact pressuring our mother into joining a Medford, NJ cult. As it turned out the Guardianship Petition was so inherently defective that Burlington County Superior Judge Paula T. Dowe threw it out, providing me with a charitable 7 days to identify and hire a replacement attorney. M.S.G. Then misrepresented the basis upon which he petitioned the court to withdraw as attorney for my mother and me. First he claimed I lacked the additional $17,000 he suddenly demanded after receiving a 15 minute tutorial from Elizabeth's Runnemede, N.J. Attorney. Mr. Whitmann outlined for M.S.G. All of what he screwed up and ommitted as attachment to the Guardianship Petition he prepared, in addition to the fact that he failed to file it in the proper Court offices, and failed to pay the requisite $250 filing fee. Second, M.S.G. Falsely asserted that I wouldn't follow his legal advice which consisted of "Just walk away from and forget your mother even exists." To underscore the merits of his advice M.S.G. Argued, "When I turned 18, I walked out of the front door of my house and never looked back!" (emphasis added). My response - "But I wasn't raised by a couple of crocodiles like you and your parents." Apparently, Richard Whitmann, Esq. Of Runnemede became so concerned and empathetic with my mother's situation, and suspicious regarding my sister's behavior and intentions, he provided M.S.G. With a detailed, 15 minute tutorial on (a) how to properly prepare a Guardianship Petition (what was omitted from and withheld as attachment to the Petition), (b) where it was suppose to have been filed, (c) fact that he failed to pay the requisite filing fee, and finally (d) how to properly defend it. In point of fact, I audio recorded that tutorial using my cell phone, then placed on the empty seat at the end of the conference table during a 15 minute period in which Elizabeth and I were instructed by the mediator to temporarily leave them (mediator, M.S.G. And Elizabeth's lawyer) in the room. Most astonishing regarding the recording was the sustained (pregnant) pause (silence) on the part of M.S.G. Following each of Whitmann's pointed thesis statements on the subject. Then there was the public audio recording of the Court, none of which Discover Card would accept as evidence, nor review and consider arguing, we don't accept audio or video recordings of evidence against one of our merchants. Moreover, we're not paralegals, attorneys or judges and therefore, will neither consider, nor accept official court transcripts supporting my assertion either, in fact the reality that the Court (Judge Paula T. Dowe) threw out the Guardianship Petition and permitted M.S.G. To withdraw as attorney for my mother and I. Essentially, Discover Card absurdly insisted that both unless and until M.S.G., the offending merchant, fesses up (comes to Discover Card with bent knee and hat in hand) to having violated the retainer agreement, there is ABSOLUETLY NOTHING ELSE THEY WILL ACCEPT AND CONSIDER IN THE DISPUTE REVIEW PROCESS. What Discover Card has done is, not merely unethical and immoral, but criminal in denying me a refund for (a) Receipt of a grossly defective product, (b) gross breach of contract - M.S.G. Failing to defend his defective petition (or now prepare a new one after learning from Richard Whitmann what he screwed up) as agreed in the retainer agreement, and (c) damages (financial and psychological) suffered by both my mother and me. In point of fact, between Elizabeth disappearing our mother from November 13th, 2017 until her death on February 17,2022, I never saw my mother again. Result of our mother's September 21,2017 stroke was nothing more than weakness from the left knee down for which she was suppose to be receiving physical therapy for at the Woolman Center of Medford Leas, in Medford, N.J. Albeit Medford Leas was billing the government for one hour of physical therapy per business day, each of her physical sessions rarely exceeded five minutes, coming to an abrupt stop upon failing to perform. Albeit the government was being billed by Medford Leas for one hour/business day speech therapy, in the two (2) plus months she was there, she was seen by a speech therapist only three (3) times. According to that therapist (with a PhD), she gave my mother a reading comprehension test yielding a score of 64. I asked the therapist what time (relative to meal and bed time) in where environment she met with and tested her. The 64 was achieved in her hermetically sealed room which she shared with another patient. I recommended she be screened, either in the large meeting room, or outside where oxygen levels would be much higher and the air would be a bit cooler and thus more stimulating. The second therapy session took place in the large meeting room, yielding a score of 96. After Elizabeth learned of my intervention, she ordered speech therapy and recreational therapy be ended. Takeaways for you, the consumer: (a) POA is very, very dangerous legal instrument, (b) Unless you have $60,000 or more in disposable income to overcome mistakes and harm caused by granting POA to the wrong person by hiring another, more competent, diligent, and ethical Elder Law attorney, with NO GUARANTEE OF SUCCESS, and (c) even more with which to file suit against Discover Card, DO NOT USE DISCOVER CARD TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY OF UNPROVEN COMPETENCY IN THE SPECIFIC AREA OF LAW OF CONCERN TO YOU! So shaken was M.S.G. Upon learning that I recorded the entire mediation session, including his tutorial, that he switched his advertised legal specialty to handling cases of legal malpractice and ineffective assistance of counsel. Discover Card is fine for paying for gas and groceries. However, AVOID USING DISCOVER CARD when paying for SERIOUS, potentially life altering transactions and DO NOT HIRE Mark S. Guralnick of Cherry Hill in the context of any case involving Elder Law. Discover Card will lift its proverbial leg and do a number on you! You have been forewarned! Use Discover Card at your own risk! Discover Card is both willing and prepared to screw much, much more than your credit score!

I had to use my discover in 2020 after I lost my job… just to be able to eat. Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover online banking

Discover Bank robbery x2

Robbed me twice, courtesy of Discover Bank. Online accounts were hacked/compromised. Found unauthorized transactions on my checking debit card. Called & went through fraud protection, filed a police report, & asked for ALL of my accounts to be locked. This request was also recorded by Discover. 2 hours later an unauthorized transfer of 7k was taken from my savings account. Notified Discover, filed police report, etc. Discover now says they couldn't retrieve the UNAUTHORIZED transfer so tough s**t. Are they not FDIC insured as they claim? Is their online security so bad they cannot prevent this? Are their online reps so confused that my last call was transferred to (7) different people with no resolution? If you have any hope of KEEPING your hard earned money do NOT, repeat DO NOT, put it in any Discover Bank accounts! Please learn from experience, dont be a victim like Discover has made me!

Desired outcome: Full compensation for the stolen funds

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover It Card

Discover Card violated mine and my husbands right to privacy by demanding our tax transcripts to prove my identity, or our account would be closed. Since we are married, asking for my tax transcripts violates my husbands privacy rights. Not to mention we have disability income that is not taxable or reportable, so if income is what they are after, we could be unjustly denied credit. Please STOP this credit card company from overstepping their customers right to privacy.

Desired outcome: Credit card company held accountable for violating my husbands right to privacy.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Flood Insurance

I have FEMA proof that I don’t need Flood Insurance for my Home Loan. Also, NFCU, Wells Fargo, and State Farm knew I didn’t need it. Some of the almost 8 acres is low, but has no buildings on it.
I think Discover's 'policy' to require Flood Insurance if any of the land is in a flood zone is related to them taking my interest on escrow, which is illegal in 15 states.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover banking

I've been a Discovercard customer since 1985. Several weeks ago I opened a savings account with the bank but not before they kept me on the line for 50 minutes. At one point they said I would have to send in a copy of my driver's license. I explained how long I'd been a cardholder and asked them just to delete the whole application at which point another rep managed to bypass that request.

A few days ago I set up a joint account for my wife. Everything seemed to go well and we received an email saying she was now a joint owner, but when she tried to 'register' her account we got an error message saying there was a problem on their end and to call back later. I contacted Discover again and was referred to a 2nd rep in 'Security' who indicated they wanted a copy of my wife's driver's license. I did as they asked and after a few days I called Discover again to be sure all was in order and was assured it was, but when she tried to 'register' her account we got that same message saying there was an error on their end. I called again and the rep finally, again, referred us to 'Security'. They informed us they had received the image file BUT the edge of the picture was slightly cut off and we needed to resubmit. So I have now resubmitted the image but have been told to once again wait severals days and then call back to be sure the image verification is adequate. So I will once again have to explain to the 1st rep about this problem and probably be referred to the 'Security' team again to see if they have received and OKed the image and then have to see if my wife can 'register'.

I appears that their computer system has definite issues and does not always give the correct feedback to the customer. The staff has been courteous but unable, thus far, to resolve the issue.

Desired outcome: Just want to complete the process so my wife is appropriately and completely 'registered' as the joint owner.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Deposit checks stolen from discover bank salt lake city facility

I called and spoke with a Discover Banking Representative on January 9, 2023 regarding some checks I received from closing four Vanguard IRA accounts that I wanted to deposit in my Money Market Account #[protected]. They informed me to endorse the four checks with my signature and write "For Deposit Only to Account Ending in 7682" and gave me an address in Salt Lake City, UT to mail the checks.

On January 10, 2023, I mailed in four checks with a banking deposit slip using USPS Priority Mail/Signature Receipt: USPS Tracking Number: 9510810289630310470430. I uploaded a screen shot of the confirmation to Discover Bank showing that this mail was signed for by V Mendoza at Discover UPC on January 16, 2023.

I have dealt with online representatives in the Disputes and Investigations for more than six weeks. A claim was finally opened on February 9, 2023. Even though it has been more than 10 business days since that claim was opened, I have NOT been contacted by Discover on this issue.

I also opened a dispute with Vanguard and three of the checks (totally more than $100,000) were cashed out. The checks had my endorsement scratched through as well as the account number. They were cashed out by different parties: (signatures look like: Dphile Wigcote and Dyanna Fennelly).

Since I have delivery confirmation that the checks arrived at the Salt Lake City facility (Discover UPC) and were signed by an agent of Discover V Mendoza, it appears the checks were actually stolen from that facility by Discover employees.

Why isn't this being thoroughly investigated and why have I received no contact on my claims?

Desired outcome: Accountability for the lost funds (since the checks were taken from a Discover Bank facility) and reimbursement to me for the full amount plus lost interest.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services I was billed by discover card for $1000.00

On Novem 8, 2023, I was charged $1,000 for 2 $500 gift cards. However the dollar general never gave me a declined receipt or any other documentation they just informed that my card was declined so I left the store with nothing no documentation telling me it was declined. However when I received my credit card bill it stated that I had charged $1,500. Which immediately outraged and I called to discover and explained that I did not make a $1,000 or 2 $500 gift cards it was declined. But I stayed on the phone with Discover for quite some time and they told me it was not declined and I needed to reach back out to the Dollar General and to get documentation that it was declined. I am frustrated because they Discover told me they would be investigating but as of January 18, 2023, I reached back out to them and asked them what the status was on my $1000 dollar credit and they told me to reach back out to the Vendor because according to their records indicated that I did receive the gift cards.

Desired outcome: I would like to see $1,000 credited on my credit card

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Unauthorized transactions on my wells fargo checking account

My name is Loc Hoang.
Discover Bank made two unauthorized transactions on my WellsFargo checking account by debiting my account twice for $50,100.00.
I reported those unauthorized transactions to my bank on 1/09/2023.
My bank put a stop payment order on my account on 1/10/2023. And on the same day 1/10/2023, Discover Bank took the money out of my account without my permission.
I don't know how that happened after my WellsFargo put a stop payment order on my account.
Discover Bank has to put my money back on my WellsFargo checking account.
I expect that is done some time very soon.
If not, I may get an attorney to take care of this.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Check cashing and international deposits

Each year I receive 2 to 3 payments from international sources. Because Discover does not directly handle international deposits, this is often a problem. Recently, however, the University of Padova in Italy was never able to get the wire transfer to work, so they mailed me a paper check.

A day after depositing the check, I received a message that it was not cashed. When I called to learn more, I was told my picture of the check was not adequately clear. I was then given the options of redepositing with a new picture or cashing at Walmart. Walmart wouldn't cash it and I quickly learned that I did not have the option of redepositing. My initial contact with customer service was polite, but misguided. My second contact refused to let me talk. So I'm now stuck with an endorsed check that I don't want to send through the mail

Desired outcome: Allow options for redepositing a check if the first picture is deemed inadequate.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Stolen credit card

Internal reference number: 7294373

To whom it may concern;

This matter is of utmost importance to me. Your financial institution is in violation of discrimination, unlawful denial of a reinvestigation and blatant falsehood. Your institution refuses to accurately reinvestigate my claim because of their unfounded decision 11/2. I have provided more than sufficient evidence to prove I did not make these purchases and they refuse to review the information provided. They also refuse to provide evidence as to how they’ve made their decision. Furthermore, I want to formally complain about Stephen I. He has done absolutely nothing and he refuses so much as to return my phone calls. He is not investigating the matter professionally or accurately.

Discover CANNOT refuse to investigate a claim brought to their attention. They cannot state that they will reassert a matter and then deny looking into it further. Discover’s decision on 11/2 was inaccurate and Stephen I is blatantly lying. Discover has failed to provide any proof to support their decision. On 11/30 I was sent a letter stating that Discover would not reinvestigate my claim and that I would be held responsible for all transactions on the account ending in 2698, unless I could provide new evidence. I have provided screenshots taken on 8/12, 8/19, 8/20, 8/26 and 9/2 all showing that my account was locked and I was unable to view or approve any activity during that time. Discover continues to blankly lie in order to pad the narrative of their own story and they must be held accountable for their falsehood. I called Discover on 7/11 to report my card as missing. I spoke with a representative, at length, and I was told my old card would be locked and I would receive a new one in the mail in 4-7 business days. Discover is claiming that I reviewed activity on 8/20 and 8/25, but did not report my card as lost until 9/6. They also state that I’m required to notify them of unauthorized activity within a “timely manner” and they are stating that 9/6 is not a “timely manner”. Both of these statements are completely inaccurate and untrue. I did not review ANY activity on my account on 8/20 or 8/25 because MY ACCOUNT WAS LOCKED. Furthermore, “timely notification” is classified as 60 days. My card was stolen on 7/6 so, EVEN IF I did not report the fraud until 9/6 it would still qualify as “timely notification”, however I reported the card as stolen on 7/1, however the representative I spoke with did not take care of the issue properly because the card was never marked as missing. I called back several days later and the new representative I spoke with confirmed that the first representative did not initiate the claim correctly.

I have also included timestamps from my app at work. I work at NGPG Family Medicine and I have time stamps proving that I was at work from July 8th, 2022 to July 19th, 2022. I had an eye doctor’s appointment on 7/11; I have attached the text message confirming that appointment along with a photo giving proof that I was in Athens, GA on 7/11. This should all be more than sufficient evidence to prove that it would be impossible for me to have made the Papa John’s, Walmart or Dollar Tree purchases in Hilton Head, SC or the flip shop purchase in CA. The timestamps also prove that I was at work on 7/12 and could not have made the Transparent lab in UT purchase. I was at work on 7/18 and could not have made the Kitsch in CA purchase. I was at work on 7/19 and could not have made the Divi in UT purchase. I was at work on 7/21 and couldn’t have made the pethonesty in TX purchase or the Omlet in DE purchase. I have included several pictures of my family on vacation at Panama City Beach, FL on 7/27, 7/28 and 7/29 proving I did not make the gasoline purchase in Winder on 7/28. And I have also included my approved vacation time from work on 7/28. I’ve included a location marking and appointment notification for 7/7 at Emory Midtown proving it was impossible for me to make the gasoline purchase in Athens. And I have also included a screenshot of my Alibaba account, which has no recent purchases proving I did not make the 7/6 alibaba purchase. This is the only Alibaba account I have and if I made that purchase it would reflect in my order history, but it does not! Additionally, I have included my policy report from 7/11.

Winder police report

Case #: [protected]

Patrol officer: Nicholas Wolfe

Rebekah Williams

[protected]

Desired outcome: I have provided PLENTY of evidence indicating that my card was stolen and it was reported correctly. I should not be held liable for any unauthorized and want all charges from 7/6-8/31 resolved.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover checking account

I am a landlord, and I have a tenant that is an elderly self employed widow, who contracted COVID last year, and almost died, and was a result, she has been unable to work, and has been struggling financially to pay rent. She applied for rental assistance with the CHAP program in February of 2022, and her application was accepted, and funds were sent in the form of a check, for the amount of $30,600, to me, in my name, because I'm the landlord, which I then mailed to Discover, to be deposited into my checking account. The check was recieved, verified, and approved, and was deposited into my account. The check shows that it was cashed on May 13th, and the funds showed in my account balance. Shortly after, my card ended up in the hand of my son's friend, and my account was frozen as a result. I was told for 2 months that CHAP need to reverse the funds and reissue the check, which I was told could not be done because the check was cashed on May 13th, 2022. I went back and forth between CHAP and discover for 2 months before a supervisor at discover informed me that I had to file an indemnification to reclaim funds, but wasn't instructed on how to do that. CHAP had no clue what that was. I contacted the bank that CHAP used to issue the check and they wouldn't even discuss anything because I didn't have an account. I was sent in circles again for another month, and I was in the phone EVERY SINGLE DAY talking to different departments, specialists, agents, everyone I could. I then called discover on September 16th, to request the indemnification forms, so I could send them to the supervisor at the CHAP office, so that it could be forwarded to fiscal and reviewed, AS INSTRUCTED BY THE DISTRICT TREASURY, and was THEN told to upload identity documents, so I uploaded my driver's license, and proof of address, and I volunteered to also send them a check stub, and my social security card, just to be in the safe side. I sent them everything they asked for and more, NEVER MENTIONED the indemnification after, and they made a decision to not release my money and said I have to contact the institution from which the funds came from, but refuse to tell me the bank that was on the check. I've been doing this for 5 months now! And now they are alleging potential fraud, when THEY ARE WRONG! And I've done everything to prove my identity and the validity of the check and where it came from. They made an ignorant decision and now refuse to release my money to me!

Desired outcome: Release my funds

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Credit card

We've been a fierce and loyal supporter for more than 20 years. We value excellent customer service. Discover has been among the best.

Having unfettered access one's financials is essential. Instead, the Discover marketing team has decided to sell, sell, sell and ignore the end-user.

After entreaties to the company to remove a nasty popup before one can even see any transactions fell on deaf ears, we have FROZEN the card and moved on.

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Discover CD

I had a CD ready to mature. I mailed every single required document to their PO Box in Salt Lake City stating that I want the account closed and all the money wired to my bank account. When I called they said they never got my documents and the legal team would call me. The post office had delivered the documents on October 17th, 2022. The CD matured on October 22, 2022. I never heard a word from Discover. Since then the account has matured and they renewed it for another two years. The documents were sent on time and were complete as required. I just want my money.

Desired outcome: I want my money

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Savings account

Opened a high savings yielding account on Sep 29 using their online forms. Deposited several thousands (more than required min) into new account. Get confirmation that money is in account on Sep 30th.

On Oct 1 I'm informed that my account has been closed due to fraudulent activity. No reasons or explanations will be given. Of course I contacted them immediately and was told account closed and that's all they can say about it. My money will be kept by them for 60 days and then I'll receive a check.

Fraudulent activity on a savings acc! They keep my money and earn interest on it for 2 months. Stealing money from me! For a savings account that I had for 48 hrs! They are the fraudulent identity in this case.

Desired outcome: Give me my money back now

Discover Bank / Discover Financial Services Purchase Attempt Confirmation

On October 12, 2022 I completed an online purchase which was about $2100. A short time later I received a text and an email from Discover advising that my order was declined due to confirmation being needed for the order. I applaud Discover for being proactive and trying to reduce credit card fraud. However, by declining my order, I was inconvenienced, confused on how to rectify the issue with the vendor and lost time for receiving the order. This is the second time this has happened to me this year.

Desired outcome: Instead declining the purchase, couldn't Discover place the order on hold until the order confirmation is made? If there is no response, after 12 hours, the purchase can be declined. I'd like a response from Discover
