This company promises you big money to mail out their info..you get promises of cash in the mail and they offer a money back guarantee which is a big hoax..you only get your money back if you send back the address labels unused that's like going to the store buying a vaccum cleaner..not taking it out of the box and taking it back and saying it doesn't work give me back my money..I complained to the BBB and their (Dataline) response was to send me a letter saying "they obeyed my wishes and removed me from their mailing list and they had erased me completely from their databases"..duh they claim they wiped away all proof they ever did business with me except I have proof we did business and they cheated me out of my money..they also sent me a refusal letter (wtf) saying they would not let me have a mailing list..where did that come from? I never requested any such thing..they are now trying to discredit me..and it wont work..I can prove what I say is true can they?..all I wanted was my $50 they scammed me out of..and suddenly they come up with all this bs..these people are dishonest these two letters prove it..and I plan on telling everyone online and offline..DATALINE IS A SCAM..do NOT send $1 to each person ($6 total) to anyone on their list..do NOT order 200 or more address labels from them..(they will honor the first set of RTS you mail them, but then they'll hold onto the second set you send them and claim you sent them in too late..)do NOT make copies of their letter and flyer at your own expense..do NOT buy 200 postage stamps and do not sit at home waiting for that $ that will never come..they will make money on the address labels you wont make any $...this is my story..I hope others will learn from it!

It actually worker to me yet after s slow start. I am a risk taker so losing $500 (because I went in aggressive) sending out 500 letters instead of 200 was something that I did because I had been in business for many years and probably lost more than I earned😊. Its a matter, in my opinion of going out and finding a different company to see a mailing list to me and that is basically it in a nutshell. I had no issue and this is my second go around.
I received the letter i read it i fallow the six steps i send out the six dollars about two weeks ago i order the lables.i send out the 200 letters so far 20 have return to sender i cut the front of the envelopes and reTurn them back t o data line they will send me . 7 address lables for each 1 lable i return along with a stamp so far ive gotten zero but no rush i think this is fun so i oreder 200 more lables. At 50% of i only payed $25 dollars im gonna keep on mailing letters all this year 2014 and hopefully all 2015 as well idk i never had so much fun doing something crasy lol im not expecting anything but who knows if it works ill let you know whats up im planing to mail 10.000.00 letters
I look at it this way.there is no way this is illegal.All you are doing is asking to be put on their mailing list. You aren't asking for any money.You are just asking to be put on a mailing list.What is illegal about that?NOTHING.People stop being lazy and afraid to maybe make some money.I could send this letter to anyone, and as long as I don't ask for money, what's illegal.I'm not the retired attorney.I have mailed out to 200 people with labels I purchased from data line on 2-7-12, and my 1st reply was on 2-15 12.The letter said not to expect anything until 20-90 days.Well 8 days later, it started for me.Just remember people, this is not illegal as long as you don't ask for money.This is a great idea to make money but only if people take a chance.,

I agree that you reap what you sow...I'm gonna try it. I believe it will work. I did the math, but in all actuality, the response rate may vary from one person to the next. Even a 4% return will yeild 100's of thousands of dollars. This opportunit has knocked on my door one too many times not to answer:)

You may be being quite hasty. I run databases for a brick and mortar company and it is quite normal to get 10% rejects from a database. We live in a mobile society. this company Data Line clearly has a procedure in place that rewards their list buyers for informing them when there is a bad address in their records, (by you returning the rejects and getting several replacements), this is standard business practice for database companies.
I often buy targeted lists from database companies and they can hone in on geographics, personal interests, ADI, Gender, interests/ hobbies, etc. DataLine is offering pre-screened namelists that are know to be "opportunity seekers" and you would want to specify that when you buy a list from someone else- in order to gain maximum response This is marketing 101 concepts- very standard.
The program itself would be astromically more effective if we did not have a society full of skeptics and lazy people. I applaud you for having taken an effort to make a difference in your future. I feel that you are very premature in making your negative post just 14 days into this. if you are just getting rejections today, you still need to factor in the week it will take the recipients who will take action to actually be able to take action, then the mail time. You are a minimum of 7 days premature from being freaked out.
Unfortunately, your comments have done nothing more than fan the flame of the above skeptics who did not take any action at all. We all learn in life that you reap what you sow; and that if you give you will receive. If Oprah were here with us right now, she might be reminding us about the energy we put out in the world- and how if we put out negativity, this is what we will get back. And if we put out positivity, this is what we get back.

I believe that Data Line is the source of the letter I received about people helping each other to start a small mail order business. I decided to send the letter out to 200 people with labels I bought from Data Line. I mailed my letters on 5/ 13/2011. By 6/ 1/ 2011, twenty-one letters have been returned because they were unable to reach their destination. Data Line says that they will send me new names if I return the front of the returned envelope so that they can delete these addresses from their mailing lists but I think that I will be sent another flurry of out-dated labels. I am now contacting the Fraud Dept of the Credit Card I used to purchase the labels which cost $50. I hope that this at least gets me credit for the expense of the labels. I lost the $88 I spent on postage, the cost for xeroxing 200 pages of the original 5-page letter, the cost of the envelopes, and a week of my life. The only people who made a profit were the owners of Data Line which has an F on the BBB. Mean people. Gullible me! On the other hand, I agree that if everyone folowed the advice on the letter, we could all benefit.
Hello guys! I received the same letter about two months ago, I read it over and over again, finally me and my brother decided to give it a shot, I spent $183.00 total of course it took us about a week to get everything done. For almost 6 weeks I didn't receive anything from anyone, of course it maid me really sad even though I spent almost 200 bucks plus one week of my time.
Then one night I came home from work, started going through my mail, I had about 28 letters, which 17 of them I opened and found 1$ in each of them. Long story short, I keep receiving money, so after two weeks total I received $3455.00 which maid me happy, I guess this stuff would work alot better if our country had more and more honest people, and im sorry for those who had a bad experiense with this and wish all the best to those who actually decided to take a chance, I believe if everyone who received this letter would do as it says, I'm more than sure you would succeed !
I believe it's one of the best ways to help eachother especially today!
I got a letter also, and I'm Nuetral.I agree with Mukmuk. It's a simple concept.
Am I going to try it? Probably, but I'll use another sorce for the address information and I may take out the Attorney part, who knows? If anyone has had any success I'd like to know it. If I have success I'll reply back. I too checked out my names to see if they exsisted, and they did.. I guess it's o.k. to be hopefull. This very well could be a way for people to help each other.. Maybe... Good luck to those trying for the pot at the end of the rainbow..
I have a letter and I am studying it. I have looked on line for other companies that will send out names for prospects. they are reputable. One of the companies will send a 1000 name for only $60. If any of you out there have read or seen the movie of " PAY IT FORWARD" you would understand this simple concept.

Those that order the mailing list and send it out in hopes of a return are only promoting the fraud. I know what I'm talking about. I am a law enforcement office and investigate such matters. I also received one of these illegal letters. Unfortunately, the amount per letter is so low, large government agencies have a hard time justifying resources to the matter.
Here's a clue that should tip you off that this is a fraud. If you say in the letter, you are a retired attorney in order to gain the trust of someone else and solicit individuals to take action (i.e. send you money) AND YOU ARE NOT a retired attorney - you have just lied and committed fraud. By copying the letter and sending it out, you are saying just that, regardless if you did not type it. And if money/letters are being placed in the United States Postal Service, you have just committed a federal felony under Title 18, USC Section 1341, Mail Fraud.
Don't order the mailing list or send out letters. This is a SCAM! The only one making money is DATA LINE!
I received this same letter today. And yes, I am going to do it! Afterall, you can't get ahead in life if you don't take risks. So, what's my risk a little over $100. Most people waste more than that per month on the Lottery. We'll see what happens.

I've just recieved the same letter in the mail today. I also already ordered the mailing list online. I done all this before I read the complaint on this site and I probablly wouldn't have ordered the mailing list if I had read this complaint first. Well I'm going to go through with this and hope for the best. I'll let you all know the results.
Unfortunately, yes, some or even many of these types of things turn out to fail. Some are almost definitely scams. It is advised that if you do go through with it, do so at your own risk. However, just because you didn't net a very impressive return does not necessarily mean it is a scam. It could very well be that someone who received anything that you did send out decided to log on and check the web to see if was a scam or not before they sent you or those other 5 people that precious $1, but on advisement of a skeptic, decided against it.
Of course, in an ideal world of total honesty, this is actually a superb idea. Maybe a $100 investment total for copies, a mailing list, postage, etc, and if people were actually willing to go ahead and do it themselves, yeah, we'd all be rolling in cash. It can pretty much go either way.
All I'm saying is, skeptics not wanting to send you $1 does not make it a scam. It makes it a failed venture. If you want to take a leap of faith and trust in people and humanity, go for it. If you don't trust anybody, yeah, it's probably a waste of time for you. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And if you're really upset about what is essentially a "Get rich quick" idea not yielding you a massive wad of cash right away... Well, maybe you should reflect on your own life and get to work on building a nest egg the old-fashioned way.
Good luck to anyone giving this a shot, and if anyone has any positive results, it'd be good to let people see both sides of the coin on this.
Well, they took me to the cleaners. I just knew this could not be a scam. So I even typed the letter over again because the copy I got of it was a little messy. I even sent a copy of the letter to my attorney, but to show you how good they are --- or how gullible i am, my attorney said it was a scam BUT I DIDN'T AGREE! So I had copies made of the letter, I went ahead and sent money to these scam ARTISTS, and they are artists, I bought the stamps. My girlfriend and I spent a lot of time putting their address labels on letters and their labels, applied the stamps and waited for the money to come in! Guess what? Only one person sent anything back, I made one dollar in all this expenditure (1) for their mailing list, (2) for stamps, (3) for copies of the letter. (4) for all the time put in to this crap. I then thought about what had happened and I couldn't see where the scam was at first. Then, asking where most of my money went, it became obvious that it was to these Data Line folks. I'm going to talk with the US Postal Service regarding this but I don't somehow much is going to happen about it through them.
I did some research on the names on the lists. My boyfriend recieved 3 of them over the last 6 months. I used the reverse directory of the white pages. Only 2 of the 6 paticipants checked out with matching names and addresses. According to the US Postal Service, you should turn these letters over to your Post Master and report them as possibly illigal. Check out www.usps/postalinstpectors/fraud/chainlet.htm No matter how desparate you are, don't fall for it. You'd be better off playing the lottery.

Thank you so much for your comment. My son received a letter like that trying to convince him that the program is legal and doable. I will advise him and other to be aware of this scam. I wonder why authorities dont do anything to stop these criminals.
