Cub Cadet Poor Machine or Poor Dealer Service?

Pros - Machine turns on a dime. Other than that it's a lawn tractor

Cons - Machine is in for maintenance more than in my yard. Simple problem, belt comes off and the machine won't engage the blades. Dealer maintenance is the worse! Takes days to get the machine, over a week to get it back, and then it immediately breaks again...same issue!

Depending on where you buy the machine there are different service options. Lowes and Home Depot would seem to be far more responsive and their warranty policies are crystal clear...Cub Cadet is not!

Recommendation: Don't make my mistake.....BUY A JOHN DEERE!!!!

Cub Cadet Kohler engine replacement

My dealer (Merse Process, Centerville, P.A.)has been trying for six months plus to get a new motor. We have been given several estimated delivery dates but no delivery. What is up with that?

I just contacted the dealer and again a delivery date of 3 weeks has been given to him. This is getting fairly unbelievable that the company cannot be more credible. My tractor is only 3 years old, and it is odd a replacement engine cannot be acquired. This is putting a very bad light on Cub Cadet service. I know Cub does not manufacture the motor but your name is attached to the product. Please advise what we can do to get this resolved.

Desired outcome: ship the motor

Have had problems with it shifting since we bought it. Last month took it to dealer with 680 miles, because it hesitated shifting into gear and it wouldn't move. After a new heavy duty clutch and $2400.00 later it shifts like a dream. I have farm machinery and 4 wheelers so I am always making sure the oil is changed and full and run the right fuel in them...

Purchased a Cub Cadet 30' riding mower. Unfortunate problems. Purchased from Home Depot. They were kind enough to pick up the riding mower, free of charge and refund me with no issues or questions. On the note of my problem, the bagger I purchased on line through the Cub Cadet site. The box was never opened, We have not had any need to open it since we...

Cub Cadet CC30E

I first contacted Cub Cadet (CC) in May regarding an error code E205 on my CC30E. The owners manual wasn't at all helpful in explaining or resolving the problem. Every phone call to the support line resulted in being on hold for over 20 minutes every time. The person that finally answered seemed to really want to help. I received an email with suggested service location "near to me" but the closest is at least an hour away and the rest were 2 - 4 hours away.

On one call I was told that they would call me back. Then I find out that they don't have the ability to call out. Not very helpful.

I contacted a local repair service and he came and took the mower to his shop. Turns out that in his calls to the company he finds out that the only fix would be to replace a motor. This would be warranty work. I don't know what to do.

Desired outcome: For Cub Cadet to arrange for service to be provided, either at one of their service centers or authorize my repair man to receive and install a new motor.

Cub Cadet Batteries that are placed on mowers at the manufacturer.

I purchased a Az1-54 zero turn mower on April 14, 2023. Today August 12, 2023 the battery is dead. I had to drive 30+ miles to where I purchased the mower. When I advised the young lady at the dealership what had happened she said. Those batteries are too small for this mower and you only had a 30 warranty on the battery. First, if the dealership knew the battery was too small then I should have been told this 4 months ago. I was told today that I could have filed it under warranty had I done it within the 30 days. When I purchased the mower I was not told that I had a 30 day warranty on the battery. I bought a $4000.00 mower with a cheap too small of a battery only to have to pay $60.00 4 months later so I can use it. I sure how Cub has someone watching things like this. This is my 1st and probably my last Cub.

Desired outcome: It was not a desired outcome at all. I look forward to a chance to actually speak to someone from Cub CadetDale Jackson [protected]

Cub Cadet 2022 cub cadet riding mower

I purchased this mower in June of 2022. We had very little rain, so the grass wasn't really growing, which resulted in very little use. Started using it this spring/summer 2023, and it was giving me issues going in reverse, to the point that it stopped going in reverse and barely moved going forward. Only has 39 hours of service.

7/7/23, Paid to have a lawn mower repair service look at it, and he informed me it was the transmission. He didn't make any repairs, as that would void my warranty. He also investigated and found that this transmission was only manufactured for 1 year, which is highly unusual, and indicative that they knew there was a problem with it.

I called the automated number for Cub Cadet warranty service, and a local repair shop took the mower to investigate the issue, 7/11/23. They came to the same conclusion, and ordered a replacement transmission, 8/4/23.

8/7/23 local repair shop informed me that the part is on national back order, and it may be 1 to 2 months, with no guarantee.

Completely unacceptable that they (Cub Cadet) continued to sell these units with defective transmissions. I have also paid to have someone cut my grass, with no reimbursement. I have essentially paid over $1,500 to cut my grass a handful of times, using equipment Cut Cadet knew was defective, or at the very least not going to hold up.

Desired outcome: Replacement machine, with a different transmission, or a refund of the monies paid, so that I may purchase something that will work.

Cub Cadet Triple bagger. Part number 19A70040100

I purchased a Z-force in 2021 and it has been very nice. I purchased the triple bagger in May of this year and it is horrible. I've called 4x4 country (where i purchased it) three times and i've taken every bit of advice they have given and it still continues to give me problems. I am constantly having to stop the mower to unclog the Shute and I've had to remove it so many times that the screws that hold the shute together have pulled out. I've done everything but beg the company to let me return it and nothing. I'm stuck with an expensive piece of equipment that is cheaply made and will not work for me. Im a single mother and i just dont have 600 dollars to waste. Please help me with this problem.

Desired outcome: I want to return the faulty product for a refund.

Cub Cadet Authorized Dealer Having Difficulty Getting Diagnosis & Part

One month ago, we took our Zero Turn R2T SX unit to our authorized Cub Cadet dealer (our unit was purchased March 2021 and is still under warranty). After having it for two weeks they finally were able to get diagnosis assistance from Cub Cadet and were told they needed to replace our fuel tank, which was to be ordered that day. We were told the part would be here by the 5th of July , now we are told that it was just shipped today July 6th. We have gone four weeks without a mower, have had to rent one twice from the local equipment rental place at a cost of $200 each time, plus the cost of a trailer to haul it on ($30 each time), if this part does not fix the mower and we have to go another 2-3 weeks without a mower, what is Cub Cadet willing to do to help us out?

Personally we would just like to just get rid of this one as it has been nothing but trouble since day one . Cub Cadet should put our original purchase price towards the purchase of a new mower, also reimbursement for the rental would be nice.

It's about customer Service, we are not being unreasonable, just very dissatisfied and do not want to go to another manufacturer, having worked for a major automake, I know what they would do to make me a happy customer. HELP

Desired outcome: Reimbursement for rental of mower & trailer while ours is down or fair market value on this one to put towards the purchase of a new one that will not have this problem.

Cub Cadet Continued problem with front wheels

My husband purchased our Cub Cadet 3 years ago at the Lowe's store in Louisville KY. This mower is an investment to us, in fact that we paid close to $ 4,000 for the Ultima ZT1, 54-inch Aeroforce deck. Being that I'm the main user of this mower and I am a woman, I would like to express my views.

When I start the yard work it takes me close to 3 hours to mow, weed eat, and blow our entire yard. My husband mainly takes care of all the maintenance that is needed to our lawn equipment. This is the reason that I'm writing this review and complaint. The first year that we had this mower the front left tire went flat, it separated from the frame and went flat. We had it repaired and before the end of the year the left tire did the same thing. We are in the 4th year of using this mower and each year it's the same problem, the tires separate from the wheel frame and goes flat. We have spent over $400 dollars on tires for this lawn mower.

Just this Monday after I had mowed the grass the left front tire has started to separate from the frame. I told my husband that this is it, and I've had enough of this. Cub Cadet needs to hear about this continual problem and have a fix for this. Customers should not have to deal with this problem especially when you have paid this much money for this type of mower.

SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER!

Desired outcome: Four (4) new replacement tires on the rim.

As of June 24th 2023 Cub Cadet has neither responded or satisfied my previous complaint. My husband repaired another front tire on our zero turn and look at what has happened again. NOW THIS IS RIDICULUS! Cub Cadet does not even care about their customers it seems to me. We are looking into buying another brand of zero turn mower. Another maintenance cost to have another tire repaired, the tires continue to separate from the rim.

Cub Cadet LT50

One month a one day after I purchased the cub cadet lt 50 the drive belt came off. I went up to home depot but since i did not purchase their extended warranty, they said I had to take it to authorized service center. Service center reinstalled the drive belt and said they didn't see anything wrong. Two weeks later I had to take it back for them to reinstall the drive belt again, but was informed the belt had to be replaced. Now keep in mind all of this is money out of pocket. Now the first time I used it this year again the drive belt came off. I asked again what is causing this to happen and am told they didn't see anything wrong. I called cub cadet and spoke to someone about it they referred me to what they call level 2. The only thing they can tell me is to take it to the shop and see if they can find whats wrong with it. That took a total of more the 2 hrs of being on hold, call being dropped once, talking to 2 different level 2 employees.. As of now I am over 300 dollars out of pocket for repairs on a new cub cadet mower.

Desired outcome: Since they can't seem to fix this problem I would like to get the mower replaced.

Cub Cadet C30 battery riding mower

In September of 2022 my mower would not start. I called Western Maryland Outdoor Power to come and get it to fix it. Well, it is the end of April 2023 and still don’t have it back. The service center says that they need a control panel and cub cadet has none to send them. I have stage 4 COPD and have to try to push mow an acre of grass. Cub Cadet is doing nothing to help me and the mower is still under warranty. If they can’t fix it, they need to give me another or refund my money, but Cub Cadet is doing nothing.

Desired outcome: New gas powered mower or my money back.

Do you remember getting error codes displayed? My CC30E ran perfect for three hours then displayed code E123 (and quit running) which CC says is the code for bad battery. I tested the battery and it's 100% charge voltage is perfect at 55 volts. I hope that you did get the new control parts and got you back to mowing.

Cub Cadet Back ordered part over 4 months

On 11/22/2022 I placed an order for part # 619-04137B, a steering knuckle for a Cub Cadet Volunteer. I was advised it was on backorder.

In January of 2023 I called customer service about part. I was advised it was still on backorder and they gave me a case # [protected].

Today (03/28/23) I called customer service again. I was told part is still on backorder with no additional information.

Its been over four months now and without this part I have a $10,000 paperweight.

My original order # D0337914P1

Can someone please help.

Cub Cadet 3X 28" Snow Blower

Stage 1 of this machine is the Auger which is supposed to Break Up and Draw In Snow, Ice and Slush ahead of the Stage 2 Accelerator which is supposed to Pull In the Snow, Ice and Slush ahead of the Stage 3 Impeller which is supposed to Throw Snow Up and Away. It does none of this. When I contacted CS and sent them a video of the machine pushing snow I was told the machine appears to be running fine (I agree) but the snow is the problem. How is snow the problem for a snow blower so finely engineered. The machine plows the snow up in front of it - it does not blow snow. Cub Cadet takes no accountability for this defective design blaming the issue on the snow.

Desired outcome: I should like to return, with a full refund, this failure in engineering advertised as a snow blower as it does not blow snow.

Cub Cadet 2x 24 in. Two-stage snow thrower, 31am5cvr709

I bought a Cub Cadet 2X 24 in. Two-Stage Snow Thrower in 2019. It ran great the first year, the next winter it wouldn't start, I called customer service, they had me take it to a service center, they repaired it and said none of the repairs were under warranty and it cost me $350 to repair my $1300 purchase. It ran the rest of that year and after storing it following the instructions of how to store it, the next year again it would not start. I had to have the carburetor repaired again. Ran for the year and then this year, guess what, it again will not run. This year it starts but dies when I try to use it. We called customer service and they told us there was nothing they could do, they are sure it is that we are not following the instructions on how to store it even though we went through the steps with them and confirmed that we are. They said take it back to the service center. I am done with Cub Cadet. This is the worst purchase I have ever made and they have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I had a cheap snow blower that ran for 15 years without an issue, why can't this one.

Desired outcome: I would love this snow blower to work and stay working. I feel like I was sold a lemon and they aren't willing to do anything about it. At this point what I would really like is most of my money back.

Cub Cadet Snowblower

Snowblower purchased October 2020. Had problems starting in November 2021 and 2022 even though I ran the gas out at the end of the season. Customer service was of little help, shifting blame to customer for not properly maintaining.

Now I have to find a small engine repairman to get this thing running.

Had a MTD snowblower for 25 years and never had such problems, should have kept it. I will unload this machine in Spring of 2023 and look at other brands not made by MTD.

FYI, my brother had similar issues with his Cub Cadet. Overall a frustrating experience simply trying to start the machine.

Desired outcome: Provide a service center that will cover cost for starting the snowblower.

Cub Cadet Cub Cadet Zt1 seat

I purchased a Cub Cadet Zt1 zero turn on 10/13/2022. After going on line and putting in the model number I ordered a set of arm rest. When I went to put them on I could not find the brackets to attach them to. I went to the Cub Cadet dealer near me and he told me that it had to have attachment brackets if not bring it in and he would check it out. If it has no brackets it is probably defective and they would replace it. I took it in and he found no brackets and after looking for about ten minutes on the internet he said that, though he had never seen one, apparently they have started making seats with no brackets and there is no way to attach any kind of arm rest. Needless to say, I am not happy about this at all. If I could return this machine I absolutely would because I feel that if you cut corners by installing cheap seats on your $ 4,000.00 mowers, what else have you cut corners on? I feel cheated.

Desired outcome: New and proper seat.

Cub Cadet Cub Cadet XT-1 46” aLawn Tractor

Bought this in August 2021. It has needed to be sent back to the shop 3 times since I have had it. First time would not start. Second time throttle did not work. Now the reverse as gone out. I have read that this should be reliable but that is has not. I have 67 hours on it . It has really been a pain. Because of a fought I was not able to use this the first 30 days I had it. On day 31 I used it and was mowing when it died. It refused to start! I am completely disgusted with this piece of junk. This no doubt is either typical of this brand or I got a lemon. I will never buy another.
