My good friend, Diane Goldman, had a stroke in August of 2023. She has not been living at 5333 N. ComEd Year end for net metering

I am Dennis O'Connor a farmer in Kankakee county with e-mail of [protected]@hughes.net. I am disappointed to learn that the year end for net metering has only two months as options (April and October). Farmers use the majority of their electricity in October and November when drying corn. April year end results in having excess credits from December thru mid April lost at year end. October year end results in having excess credits built up and a small portion used with the October (mid-month) billing and the balance lost with a large bill in November.

A calendar year end would solve this dilemma and encourage farmers to install solar.

Thank you for allowing my complaint.

Desired outcome: Calendar year end for net metering.

ComEd E-billing changes. I currently get an ebill and got an email re termination of mycheckfree delivery of ebills

I called to find out if this was real email info re mycheckfree delivery of ebill. I was told that ComEd has indeed cancelled their business with my heckfree.com. Now because I am moving, order already placed and without any warning, I now have to re-register online. Why? How is it possible that a customer is forced to go to a website? As a 26 year customer and senior citizen, I am appalled at your lack of customer care. All I want is to continue ebilling at my new address without yet another website to deal with or another flush of email junk re ComEd. Please allow a representative to authorize ebilling over the phone. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to find other service.

Desired outcome: All I desire is a simple change of address service with continued ebills.

ComEd Deposit requirement

We have been with Com Ed for more than 20 years. Until recently bills were always paid on time. However, like the rest of the economy, we fell on hard times and began making late payments. The bills never exceeded $200 and were always paid. I just received request to pay an additional $445 to the revolving bill. This is absolutely ridiculous and insensitive for them to even impose such a thing. Obviously if payments are coming a little late, I am behind and can’t afford to pay additional money on-top of regular monthly statements. This is disturbing due to the fact I am monopolized by them and can not simply “switch companies.” Can someone please help me contest this criminal behavior from a company with revenues more than 15 Billion? Please help.

Desired outcome: Deposit waived

ComEd Distorted power usage comparisons

The information that you are giving each first floor resident is distorted and does not reflect the reality of the circumstances by which all other first-floor residents are measured. The residents on the first floor of our building deal with a completely different set of circumstances regarding heat and cooling requirements than those of every other building resident that is not located on the first floor.

Some, but not all, of those circumstances are:

1. The first-floor residents, among other significant factors that affect the cost of heat, live over an indoor parking garage, making the floors considerably colder in the winter and much, much, much hotter in the summer months.

2. The first-floor residents have downdraft heating that comes from the ceiling down which means that the heating ducts travel from the furnace to the duct outlet above the false ceiling thereby heating the true concrete ceiling above, which is also the floor of the unit directly above on the second floor, thus, a first floor resident is subsidizing the heating cost of the above unit. Based on this very significant fact, to compare the electrical power bills of all of the first floor units to electrical power bills of the other units in the building is meaningless.

I have asked repeatedly "Can you compare only the first floor units (all units with the prefix"1") to all of the other first floor units only and, if it is not possible, would you please tell us why it is not possible?" If the first floor residents have this information we can compare our bills and the steps that some of us have taken to conserve energy and thereby conserve a greater amount of energy by lessening the requirement.

This does not seem to be an unreasonable request and it favors you in the respect of putting less demand on you to produce power under heavy load requirements.

Sincerely yours,

David F. Roesch

123 Acacia Circle - 104

Indian Head Park, IL 60525

PH [protected]

Desired outcome: We would like an Energy Efficiency Report that segregates all first-floor units from all upper-floor units due to the entirely different power requirements of the first-floor units.

ComEd Smart meter stop working

The smart meter stop working, which was installed by comed. I received a sticker with no identifying markings on my deck that indicated I needed to move my meter at a cost of $3000 or my power would be cut off, because the company would have to use a ten foot latter to get to the meter. I don't understand it is accessible from my porch and by latter. It has been in the same place for at least 50 years or more. they were able to put the smart meter in a few years ago, without a problem. i did not break or destroy the smart meter it just stopped working,

I can't afford to have an electrician come out to move something that has been there forever. I called a few electricians that priced out at 3 grand, I cannot even afford to have a cardiac angiogram cat scan that I need because it cost 500 out of pocket. so I don't know where I will get $3000.

Desired outcome: I want comed to just fix their smart meter as easily as they originally installed it.

ComEd Deposit

Today im the mail I received a letter stating that a "deposit" of $575 (5 installments of $115) will be added to my already high bill. My house is all electric and I live in IL so my bill normally is between 350 - 425 depending on month and season. I have always paid my bill on time and in full. This past winter 2022 my husband was laid off and unemployment was only for $173 every week. We have been finding work to make some income to keep bills on until taxes then we will pay in full. We also have 4 kids so I have to spread everything thin right now. I can never afford to pay this deposit ontop of my bill plus get caught up. I along with everyone else right now didn't ask for this [censored] show we are living in right now. Just paying what i can to stay afloat until march when my husband should be back to work. But now with this extra we will never get ut caught up. Why not reach out and try to see what the problem is if your so blind to not see how everyone is struggling living right now. Maybe a freakin late fee of $10 a month like all the other bills. Which is still ridiculous because you cant afford to pay on time but you get paid 3 days from the day they turn it off, plus a late fee then a reconnection fee when its not even a push of a button and wonder why people can't get caugh up.

ComEd Solar panels producing and not receiving credits

Initially, when we signed up for solar we were with COMED but IGS was our supplier. After 9 months, IGS was dropped 1/22. I kept wondering why I my comed bill was going up. Fast forward to today 1/23, my comed bill was 95.00 while am still paying my solar bill of 92.00 a month. I called and my solar has been producing fine, call comed to learn we aren't connected to the solar through comed. I should be given a credit or something for going a whole year of giving off energy to the grid

.

Super annoyed and feel taken advantage of,

Terri

Desired outcome: So for a whole year we have been supplying energy to the grid and not getting any credit. Plus the locked in rate we had when we signed up is long gone. I want to know what happened to all my daily source of energy?

ComEd Deposit/credit score

While looking at my ComEd bill, I was charged a deposit. While investigating the reason for this deposit, no reason was given. I found in the handbook that deposits are only given for 4 reasons for new residential customers.

1. You are applying for service and your previous service was disconnected for non-payment, and you did not pay the final bill.

2. We receive a new application for service and the former customer who was disconnected for non-payment at the same service location still resides at the service location, and we have proof that the new applicant for service also occupied the service location during the time the previous customer’s debt accrued (existing and new).

3. Your credit score is below a predetermined minimum.

4. It was determined your meter was tampered with at your previous service.

When I called to ask about how these applied to me, and why I was being charged, the customer service rep informed me that the only one that could apply was my "credit score is low". However, there is no formal listing for credit score anywhere on the site, the documents, or the legal forms. Also, the FICO credit score being low is beneath 500, which does not currently apply to my circumstance. Furthermore, ComEd did not inform me of a deposit upfront, did not inform me of why I was receiving said deposit.

If ComEd is going to charge for these costs, they must list the legal aspects within or on their site for consumer use. If not, it is customer abuse and charging without stated purpose or reason to the customer.

In addition to a response from the company, it is only natural for the company to reveal its meaning of low credit score and to make right with financial reimbursement.

Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response, a presentation of what "low credit score is", and a financial reimbursement.

ComEd Electrical Power Services

For the past year or so we've been noticing our lights flicker, dim and shut on and off for no apparent reason. We've had to repair or replace appliances and electronics and we are at a loss as to why this is happening. What's more puzzling has been ComEd's nonchalant responses to our telephone calls. We have been meant with "yea yea we know" or "we're aware and we're checking into it". Personally, I feel that someone, be it person or agency is using our services because the dimming and flickering is similar to when you connect a power tool. We cannot imagine what kinds of power surges are responsible for the damages to our appliances and electronics.

Desired outcome: We would like Comed to investigate and rectify the issue.

ComEd Netmetering

Installed solar panels and was connected to Coeds grid for net metering. All was well, was getting monthly credit for electricity surplus, then it suddenly stopped. I did not discover the error for a year and a half. Upon discovery, I called and asked for a check to refund me the money I had paid ComEd for the electricity I had not used for last year and a half in the amount of $1, 300. I deposited the check successfully and used the funds for Christmas presents. A week later, I got a letter in the mail from my bank saying that ComEd had voided the check and I no longer had access to the funds and was charged a $12 fee for the voided check. I called ComEd and was told "they needed to revoke the check" and rebill me independently for each period for the last year and a half and that it "would take a while."
It's been nearly a month and, "rebilling is not complete." I asked how much longer it would take and wasn't provided an answer as their department doesn't know and there is no way to talk to that billing dept…I was asked to call back in a week for an update as it "takes time" to rebill. I did so then was told they are still working on it and to call back in a week. I called back again and was told it may take up to 40 days and to call back in the new year. Today is December 20th.
The customer service reps said that they don't have any ability to connect me with the account / billing department and can't tell me when it will be done. Nor are they able to say to me if I will be refunded the $12 fee from my bank. One mistake after another, 1) improperly charging customer for electricity not used (given I had been providing electricity to the network but was not credited for it), 2) refunding funds to customer via check only to then cancel / void the customer check with no notification and incurring $12 bank fee to customer, 3) Unable to communicate how they will reconcile their errors with any specificity in timing (or apology).

Desired outcome: Reimbursment and $12 bank charge repaid in a timely fashion

All started with loud frequency noise in my house, flickering lights along with dimming lights. I complained almost 1000 times with nothing done. Letters sent to Corporate. I've shut down all my power in the box but continue to hear electrical/ radio frequency. Living right behind a transformer is not the best thing to do. Where's the help comed. If I didn't pay the bill. You will shut of.
Thank you for nothing! With hanging cord and tree branch touching the electrical wire

ComEd Telephone pole delivered to my parkway on 89th Place

Yesterday, 9/30/21, a long semi truck and 2 ComEd service trucks dropped off a very long telephone pole on my parkway. I raised hell with these guys! I realize this area is a public way easement that you can use but your Grounds Repair crew has the responsibility to repair any damages. The Kentucky Blue Grass lawn on my parkway is pristine. The pole will eventually kill the grass under it and I expect this to be replaced. These guys had no idea how long the pole will sit there. A neighbor 2 doors down had the exact same issue. Is there no coordination with this process? There was 6 to 8 ComEd guys present to wrangle his pole.

My house is all-electric and the street has underground utilities. Why is our street being desecrated? We are the best ComEd customers. There are no telephone poles within sight at my home. What in the world are you doing here ComEd?

Desired outcome: Replace dead or dying Kentucky Blue Grass lawn

Update by Jim16730
Oct 02, 2021 2:18 pm EDT

Update: This specific pole on my parkway is just a few feet from a public sidewalk and could be an attractive nuisance to children. It was pressure treated with pentachlorophenol (penta), a possible carcinogen that is banned in most countries. This has prompted the sole North American producer to announce it will close its plant, in Mexico, by the end of 2021.

ComEd Over payment

I have Comed on auto bill pay and I didn't do budget billing because of the virus. I received a grant and didn't get a letter to inform of the payment and I was still making my monthly payments from my account. I requested a refund from Comed and they gave me the run around and told me that I Had to apply it to my account. I am poor and Need my money back. Why do they need my Over Payment? I can use that money and they Refused to refund my money back unless I get off the budget plan. They are full of it. Why do they need 2 payments? I have done this before and I got my money back and they have been giving me the run around. I want my Money back and I don't have to get off the budget plan to get it. The State and My money also, naw. Refund me my money back please. Robbing senior citizens.
