Champion Windows Champion windows

I had Champion install windows and a patio door throughout my home several years ago. In May of this year, I called Champion windows after having my windows cleaned and was told that at least 5 of the windows and the patio door had broken seals. Customer service scheduled a tech to come to my house. He then verified that the seals were indeed broken. He also verified that my patio door which had never locked correctly had a defective lock and would be replaced at the time of window replacement. Couple of weeks later I was contacted by Jerome. He said Champion would not replace my door lock under my warranty. He also stated the windows might take several months to replace. It has been 6 months and I've had no response from Champion. I was able to track down 9 phone numbers for Champion-including Todd Dickson. In the last 10 days I have spent hours calling the numbers only to get the same message-"we will call you back as soon as possible". Ha! No response whatsoever. I was finally able to reach a live person 3 days ago in Minnesota who sent an email to the Denver office to contact me. How hard is it to answer an email? I would never recommend Champion to anyone! The customer service response time is atrocious..

Desired outcome: The desired outcome is to be contacted by a manager or supervisor immediately. My email is: [protected]@msn.com, phone contact: 303-797-0496Laurie Regan

Champion Windows - Sunroom

Salesman Ron came to my home uninvited and talked my dying husband into building a sunroom so he could look outside. He was dying of a brain disease and had no business being put in this position because of course he wanted it as it sounded so great. It could have been great but unfortunately champion builders either do not know what they are doing or...

Champion Windows Sunroom door window

It's been 2 months since we had a service person and paid for the visit to have our door sunroom window replaced (July 2023 now Oct 4th,2023). We have called the Colorado Springs office various times, their response is either the installation guy is on vacation, last month for one week or they'll get back to us. They never get back to us. It's getting very cold here in Colorado, especially at night, and we need our sunroom glass installed. We have called numerous times, and nothing has been resovled.

Desired outcome: Put the glass in the door.

Champion Windows - Windows

Champion sent someone to install the windows. I asked the installer about the windows not having grids on the day he arrived at my home. The installer made a call and after the call he said to me someone will come out to replace the glass with windows that have grids in about four weeks. The installer gave me a Champion customer service agreement on the day...

Champion Windows - Champion sun room

I am not writing about a complaint, but more of an entreaty. I had a sunroom Built by Champion in 2007. My warranty expired 2 years ago. This summer while having a new deck build adjoining the sunroom, the builders discovered that the soffit extending from the sunroom floor had wood rot. They recommended I get someone to examine the interior flooring of the...

Champion Windows Patio doors

In October of 2022 I called about water leaking around the glass and entering into my house. Repair person shows up and said that they would have to order the parts and it would take 6 to 8 weeks. In December of 2022 I called to follow up on the order and was told that the door division was sold and all previous orders were canceled. They had to reorder the parts and that would take another 6 to 8 weeks. In April I called and got the same result. In June I called and again got the same result. Finally, in August 2023, they came to repair the door, the trim was the wrong color and design. They are refusing to make this better, the customer service manager has no clue about her job. They are expecting me to accept the results of their bad customer service.

Desired outcome: I want the trim to match the color and design that I purchased. They installed 3 doors with this type of design and I want them to match.

Champion Windows Pile of dirt in my back yard

We sign a contract with Champion on 16 February 2023 and back in May they came dug up parts of my back yard for our sunroom and the dirt pile is still there in my back yard and I have contacted several people about it, but no one will do anything about it, and we are very pissed off about it because this is my property and Champion has destroyed my back yard and Champion is responsible for repairing my yard. I have contacted the corporate office and I talk to someone and was told someone will give me a call, but no one has given me a call back. If no one contact me today about this situation I will be contacting CALL FOR ACTION WITH THE NEWS TODAY. Thanks

Desired outcome: Remove the dirt outta my back yard ASAP and repair my yard.

Champion Windows Champion sunroom

We purchased a Champion Sunroom, which we are enjoying with one major exception, the inadequate gutter that was installed. The house has 5 inch gutters installed all around the house, they installed a 20’ 3 inch gutter. The second story down spout was placed to direct the rain onto the sunroom. Later I noticed that when it rained hard that the water was running over the gutter. I contacted the Champion Customer Service, they came out and installed a narrow metal strip on the outside end of the gutter. This was inadequate as the rain is still overflowing with rain overflowing the gutter and down the side of the sunroom, near one of the 6” x 6” sunroom supports. I called the Customer Service and they replied that I would have to pay a $199 service call. Latter I received another message that would cost me an additional $799 for the installation of a 20’ 5” gutter. Not happy at all.

Desired outcome: Replace the 3 inch 20 foot gutter with a 5 foot gutter.

Champion Windows Champion windows in our sun room

Windows were improperly installed (the installer drilled holes in the bottom of the window frame) and they leaked, They came out and replaced some of them but they still leak and they won't come fix the leaks. This resulted in some rotted wood and carpenter ants eating the wood. These windows have been in less than 2 years. One person came out from champion and said the window sills haven't been painted. I see paint on the picture i posted

Desired outcome: Come reseal the windows so they dont leak.

Champion Windows Champion slider windows

I have recently purchased a series of four slider windows (57”x45”) and one patio door (69.5” x 79.5”) ON 1/3/2022 through Champion Windows. We decided to purchase Champion as this residence already had a series of Champion windows installed, and we were looking for consistency. I am corresponding as the installation or the manufacturing of these four slider windows has resulted in functionality issues.

The installation of the four slider windows on the lower level of our residence was questioned during the process. I noticed during the installation, the installer was not using window frame shims and I questioned the “bow” in the upper part of the frame as it did not seem straight, level, or square. He indicated that it was faster to just use an expandable foam, and that everything was going well. He seemed annoyed at my questions but did back out the screws on the top of the frame when I pointed this out again as there was an obvious arc to the top of the window frame.

Windows installation was finished August 8, 2022, they seemed to function properly, and I signed off on the completion form. What I did not realize that the time was that I could not get the windows out of the frames for cleaning. As I already have five other Champion slider windows and can remove these windows for cleaning it was apparent there was an installation issue or a measurement and manufacturing issue.

As service with Champion windows takes several months to schedule, a service call for Tuesday November 29, 2022, was set up. A technician came to the residence to examine the installation. I was not available, and he spoke with my wife on the day of his visit. He could not remove the windows either without the assistance of a putty knife forced under the widow sash. He demonstrated this methodology on the inner sash to my wife, but not the outer sash. When I tried this method, I could not completely get both windows out without stressing the frame. I also could not get the outer sash back in and had to grind relief channels into the frame and eventually forced this outer sash back in place.

I scheduled a second service call in late March for June 14th, 2023. The same field service technician came out but, on this trip, he removed the plastic glide bars on the bottom of the windows to allow some additional clearance (about 1/8”). This still did not completely resolve the issues on the outer left sash, as the left sash still needed to be removed with a putty knife under the sash and forced back into the frame to get it back in place.

The functionality of these four windows is not the same as the functionality of the other slider windows in the house. Your own Champion window videos on how to remove the sashes do not include the use of putty knives for removal or installation.

At one point Champion indicated the second field service visit would include a remeasure, and the sashes would be replaced. The tech refused to do this and insisted on the use of a putty knife, along with removing the glide bars at the bottom of the sashes as a fix. But even with the removal of the plastic glide bars, these windows do not remove and install properly.

Desired outcome: I would like these sashes measured and remade so they actually perform as expected.

Champion Windows Terrible Do Not Use

My parents had all the windows in the entire house replaced. Huge expense. The installers cut themselves on one of the installs, left their blood there. Very sanitary for my mother who has an auto immune disease. Three of the windows are not sealed along the top, rain gets in and they whistle. Two of the windows wont lock. And 4 of the windows wont even open.

My mom has now called three times trying to get in touch with service to have them fix the issues only to be told someone will be in contact within 24-48 hours. It's been three weeks. I called today and spoke to someone within the sales department, named Jim. He was very nice and assured me someone would contact me tomorrow, Saturday June 10th, 2023. I am not holding my breath.

Additionally, we found deck screws littered all over our property. We have dogs. One of which is very small and got cut by one of the screws.

Installation 5/22. Called 5/23, 6/1, and 6/9.

Desired outcome: We need this fixed

Champion Windows 2 patio doors and screens

Purchased 2 new patio doors with screens in Jan 2023. Had installed 3/27/2023. When we tried to use the doors the handles on the screens hit the locks on the Patio Door. One patio door would not lock and mechanism fell right out of the door. I understand if that issue happens, Champion needs to replace the whole door. The downstairs patio door is very difficult to slide closed (you need to be an adult to slide open and close the door and it doesn't lock. These issues have all been documented by Champion Windows. We we told it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get replacement parts. It has been 2 months and we are still waiting for our new screens and door. The manager here in Omaha NE "Mark" will net respond to text or phone calls. Have also reached out to sales people with no action taken from Champion Windows. Very disappointed in the service. I do have documentation and pictures of the issues.

Desired outcome: Just would like our new door and screens and also have the issue with the patio door sliding being very difficult resolved.

Champion Windows Screened Porches

I signed a contract for Champion Sun Rooms to install 2 screened in porches with knee walls. I gave them a deposit of $12,090.00. A week later, they tell me, with no pre notice or email or phone call that would not be doing my project. NOW, they refuse to send me my refund of my deposit after the 2+ weeks since I signed the contract, gave them the check, and they cashed it. STILL waiting!

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE! SCAMMERS!

Desired outcome: A full refund of my deposit with any accumillated interest and court fees if I take this to court!

Champion Windows Service / they won't return a single call.

Don’t do business with this company!

November 2020, David Karandos from Champion came out to our home. David was a very polite salesman. We purchased a whole door unit (door/sidelight/transom) that day.

David said the install will take place in 8-12 weeks. After 12 weeks had passed, I reach out to Champion multiple times to find out when the install was going to happen. Each time I called (3/27/21, 4/5/2021, 5,15,2021) I got a different answer. Supposedly, Terrell oversaw installs for the Indianapolis area. I NEVER heard from him one time!

On August 15, 2021, I called Champion to let them know we plan to sell our home in the next 6-months, so we wanted our refund for being a no-show! AMAZINGLY, they finally promised to come out on September 2nd to install our door unit. Btw, that’s 36 weeks later!

The install crew showed up, they soon realized the person who came and did the second measurement forgot to account for our transom. They would have to re-order a whole new unit or give us a refund. The installer reached out to Terrell and noted the mistake on Champion’s part. I FINALLY SPOKE WITH TERRELL! Terrell said they would refund our money. Well guess what? Its now May 2023 and after numerous phone calls and emails, the managers will not respond or give us a refund. A secretary at Champion (I won’t mention her name) said these regional managers have a bad reputation for not following up with refunds.

I guess I 'm taking them to small claims court.

Desired outcome: Please refund our down payment of $1,425

Champion Windows Warranty Repair/Replacement

Door ordered in March 2022 was installed August 2022 and required us to file a claim online with pictures October 3, 2022 for door leaking through windows in heavy rain. Tech arrived, inspected and confirmed defect in workmanship and recommended replacement of doors on November 2, 2022 as resealing glass will not prevent condensation in the future.

After multiple attempts to get a status update by phone we had to refile a claim online in January 2023 and received a message that "the glass is still not in and we would receive a call when it is ready"

It is now May 2, 2023 and we have received no communication regarding status. Seven months for a warranty repair/replacement with no communication is excessive at best for a $8000 door that failed after less than two months. The claim process is not consumer friendly.

Desired outcome: Confirmed status and installation date of new door

Champion Windows Champion replacement windows

I had all my windows replaced in June, 2022 with Champion Windows 8200 series. The installation of 14 windows was done in one day with two crews due to distance they had to drive from work to my home.

The rapid installation did not allow me to monitor the work or fully check it out before I was asked to provide a rating of the installation and full payment on the same day. There was an issue with the weight of one double hung window and that someone came and resolved quickly. By that time I had noted damage to the drywall over several windows and understood the person on site would file a report on this. It appears this damage was due to the saw vibration as the old windows were cut out.

I contacted the company on November 17, 2022 since I had heard nothing from the company. The issues noted were a hole in the screen that is covered under warranty and drywall frame damage to three windows. I submitted a formal email request with photos at that time. I did not receive any follow-up from the company.

In January 2023 I again contacted the company, including the salesperson, and spoke twice with a person who was going to send someone to identify service needs.

As of April 23, 2023 I have received no feedback from the company and no repairs have been made.

Desired outcome: Replacement of screen per warranty.Repair of 3 drywall window frames or money to have local person provide repair.
