FISGlobal.com / Certegy Check cashing denial / refusal

Everytime I try to cash a check at a grocery store it declines and prints a receipt with Certegy's phone number to call. When you call though they are rude nasty and tell you a generic robotic answer about some b.s. risk module and that "we can't give you any more information than that." Which is ridiculous seeing as it is all my personal information that is being transmitted and essentially denied as if I were some worthless piece of garbage on the side of the rode trying to scam every walmart, winn dixie, publix, etc. that i walk into!

Claimed loss: $22000 total in denied checks plus the embarrassment of being denied and felt to be scum.

Desired outcome: They get shut down or remove my information and stop telling these stores not to cash my LEGITIMATE CHECKS FROM LEGITIMATE COMPANIES!

FISGlobal.com / Certegy Declined to cash check from auto dealer

I received a check for the 2nd half of money owed to me from selling my car. This dealership has been in business for over 30 years. They declined to cash at Walmart and gave no specific reason.

If a company is going to make these decisions, there should at least be a live person to talk to. Not only was I embarrassed but I couldn't get any answers.

I started using ONE for my business transactions and wanted to deposit into that account. First they make you cash the check then deposit.

Since I was unable to cash the check I will go open a account at a credit union or bank. I have had the same checking account (personal) since 1989. I have never had a problem like this.

Reading the reviews makes me wonder why companies would even use them. Equifax never did business like these people do.

FISGlobal.com / Certegy Declined check

We made a purchase at Kohls in San Marcos and in Temecula CA. on 11/2/23 & 11/3/23. Both checks were declined by Certegy Check Services. I took both checks to my Credit Union to the manager, and she told me there was nothing wrong with either check there was no reason for them not to be accepted. She couldn't believe it. I've been writing checks for 60+ years w/o bouncing one. My checking balance is far above any of the checks. My credit is good. It is extremely unfair for companies like this one to exist, They are destroying many outstanding people's reputation, making them look like deadbeats while in line while in line to make purchases. What did my credit report have to do with cashing a check?

What can't cash my check because certegy days so. Without any explain. Just to twist my credit report. That is not resolve to resolve my getting my money. Whatever "algorithm" this company, that had already been sued by ftc. Uses is redundant to the fact I can't cash a check. I need my name clear in order to receive money that is handed to me in the form of a check. Certegy needs to lift the denial on my check cashing abilities immediately

Another complaint about this walmart check cashing they denied cashing my wife's payroll check apparently because it's roughly based on your credit. What difference does your credit score make when cashing a check from another person's bank account it's not me that needs to account for the funds the person who wrote the check is responsible to make good so why the hell does my credit score need to be checked in order to cash a promise to pay from someone else it's total [censored] this country is really going to hell so fast.

I have been cashing checks at Wal-Mart for 15+years several varieties of checks. Even checks for thousands of dollars. I work for the state of WA as a caregiver so the check in question is a government check! Which should be easily verifiable. Now all of a sudden you won't cash it. It makes so sense whatsoever. I just cashed a check there a week ago. Its absurd that you should be judging people based on your criteria? If you are not pulling credit you have no reason to base check cashing on anyone's anything. I am contacting the Attorney General as well as my state rep Mark Ricelli. How dare you people treat us like a criminal. I have spotless record. I work for the state which means they did a complete a background check and fingerprints. My credit is good. Your company does nothing but profile people which should be illegal.

FISGlobal.com / Certegy Refund check was denied

I went to Walmart to cash my government refund check only to be denied. I'm thinking, for what! I want to know why but the clerk didn't know and gave me a printed receipt to contact this so call company (certegy). So I go to another walmart, same thing. So I called and get an automated attendant and gave me a handful of possible reasons (no specific). It gave an option to have a copy of their reason to my by mail so I opted in. I receive the letter and it basically gave me the same handful of possible reasons from check #, dollar amount, check cashing history, or other transaction history "quote for quote". Nothing specific to me.

Next section is "outstanding items"

Says "no information on file"

So they are basically telling me the reason they declined me for "NO REASON AT ALL".

I guess this is their way of doing business.

The can deny cashing anyone's check just because they can, for the heck of it. I never had a problem cashing my check with walmart in the be past.

It's crazy to receive a denial letter that states the reason that says "Quote for Quote"

Maybe that's their reason that they don't have any information on me.

How does a company like this exist.

Certegy needs to restructure and get rid of any executives, director V.P.'S or all of upper management and replace with competent people or whoever designed their software, network. Some one needs to be fired. I really blame walmart for not screening their third party partners very well.

This is just as bad as the Bank of America EDD Incident. Who gets denied and sent a letter saying that there's no reason you were denied. Is that part of their policy " We need no reason to deny you, we deny you, because we can and here at Certegy, that's our plan.

Desired outcome: To get their [censored] together and figure out who or what is responsible and resolve it.

I have been trying to cash my short term disability check from my insurance company but both at Kroger and Walmart refused to cash. Another bank insistent they can’t verify the amount. I was referred to certegy but I can’t get to anyone. I’m not sure what the problem is and if I don’t know I can’t fix it. I can’t believe they don’t let you cash it for a reason unknown. Please help me.

FISGlobal.com / Certegy Declined government check

Not sure what happened. I have cashed these same foster care checks for the last 2 years and suddenly one of them is declined. Two others were cashed the same day, dates were correct, agency and signature were valid. I also received a 401 disbursement check and that was declined as well with the only explanation that the checks did not fit the criteria for cashing the check. They were not large amounts.

I requested my consumer report with Certagy and if it is different than my credit reports I just checked we may have a problem.

There just isn't enough information provided to adequately explain why my other checks from the same agency were cashed the same day and then others were not. This is very frustrating and seems to be very destructive to peoples credit history.

I thought perhaps it was the check itself so I contacted my benefits department and had a new check issued.

Desired outcome: Please provide a detailed description for why the checks were declined. Seems to be a pick and choose.

I wanted to add that the 401 dispursment was from CitiBank. Seems to be an issue with Certagy my credit score is good, I have no other negatives in my report.

I cash checks numerous of times at different locations same company same place cashing them then out if blue someone who does not know me or have a reason to decline a PAYROLL check declines only question in payroll check should be is it valid check does he have proper ID but no certegy files at risk check cashing on a payroll check without having a realistic reason so this company who absolutely knows nothing about people makes a judgement then call them oh we will make sure it never happens again then boom here we are honestly this company needs to be shut down they are unethical and biased and honestly full of [censored]

FISGlobal.com / Certegy Western union money order denial

I attempted to cash a western union money order at walmart and was made to provide information to go through certegy. I was declined, no reason given, no ability to seek redress. There is no reason that my information should be needed to assess risk for cashing a check from western union. My id is valid, the check has already been paid for, there is no way that anything about me could possibly impose any risk on the transaction. Had I passed bad checks in the past, maybe but I have not. Please explain to me how any information about me could possibly cause any risk to walmart in this transaction. I have nothing whatsoever to do with the source of the money - I did not pay for the order and I am not responsible for guaranteeing the money therein. The money order has been payed for, it is merely a physical representation of money already paid. Looking online I have seen hundreds and hundreds of complaints about this. Some say that certegy has a policy of simply denying requests past a certain time of day or amount of money approved that day, just to limit their liability/risk.
I needed the money that was sent, still do in fact. Beyond that, whatever the amount in question, it is embarrassing and beyond frustrating to be turned down in public with no reason given and no way to actually determine why I was declined short of sending in personal information and waiting 10-14 days to get a report. Cashing or paying with a personal check I can understand, a paycheck or money order from a huge company makes no sense and has zero to do with the person receiving the money.

Desired outcome: Fix your algorithm to account for the type of transaction and who is actually responsible for the money.

I THINK WE SHOULD FILE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

On July 19, 2021, went to Dollar General, store 00659. Check for $63.69, was declined. I was confused, but I wrote another check from a different account, and that check, too, was declined. I called them, only got a recording, but did get to request a copy of my file.

Received correspondence from them dated July 20, 2021, which was impossible because July 19, 2021, is when the checks were declined.
They only referenced 1 check cashed at Walmart on 02/04/20 for $1000, which went through, and then the checks on 07/19/21, which they declined (listing this transaction 3 times), as reason #4 - not meeting acceptable guidelines. In other words, no valid reason. Their response even documented my driver's license number.

Then it has a section for outstanding or resolved items: There were no outstanding items, so what basis did they do this?

TIME FOR CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

Desired outcome: Monetary payment for inconvenience and embarassment

My check for $141.68 was declined by your company. I had this happen at Walgreens about a year ago and it sounded like the same bogus BS as that time. The cashier indicated that it has been happening alot and the lade behind me said her husbands check was declined at christmas and was forced to use his credit card as did I.
I decided to call the number provided and got the same BS as before. Who in their right mind would give a third party company their check rounting number and check number? You may as well broadcast is on national media if anyone if dumb enough to follow their phone prompts. Your receipt says that you cannot tell me why my check was declined or what your file on me says. My credit score is over 800 so I know your standard reply is complete BS.
I have made sure to send my comments to Maurices and Walgreens corporate as well. They need to disassociate themselves from companies like you.

Desired outcome: An Apology would need nice but its highly doubtful I will receive any message from you based on the complaints I have read

I just tried to cash a 50.00 western union money order my daughter gave me for Christmas that was purchased at Krogers in Columbus, Ohio . Krogers 325 Beaumont, TX declined it due to certegy. No explanantion, only telephone prompts. It was purchased at a Kroger! DR Grimm, Beaumont, TX

went to Walmart in to cash a government check from the stimulus relief .I got a slip saying it was unable to your check today call this number ..why. I called the number and it said check was cashed .I just got it out of the mail on Thursday and tried to cash it Friday morning

I went to Petsmart in Buena Park yesterday and tried to purchase much needed items for my kittens who were just neutered. I have had perfect record with my bank and was embarrassed that my check was declined. I have $50, 000.00 in my account and couldn't even have a $62.47 check clear. Not sure why sertegy would have declined.

I was at my local Publix Supermarket on 5/4/20 19:18 S1010 R151 3141 CO417 my cashier was Saveon A. which I wrote a check for groceries of $61.94 + a $20 request for cash back. I had been in earlier in the week and wrote another check due to my debit cards being hacked by Cash App! I do not nor could anyone @ Publix or Certegy give me any reason for the refusal of service. During this time in the economy of the world this company has dropped the ball in refusing a 2nd purchase at my local supermarket regardless of a proper balance in the required bank to be able to purchase from Publix, & upon more research, Kroger has the same check non-service in this time of need! the Certegy representative that I was in contact with was initially telling me that I was not within the guidelines of requiring check approval, but could not offer me any explanation of why I was otherwise refused. An intermittent connection on Certegys' phone recorded line made it additionally annoying not being able to understand ANY help or her offer for additional non-help! Your company's parameters OR guidelines are only to protect the company and NOT the guest's expectation of service! Certegy DROPPED-THE-BALL & I know that you probably don't care with all the jumping through the hoops to get to THIS very aggravating point...

Went into Dillons to pick up my medicine. Was denied my check. Received a piece of paper from the lady she said I would have to call the number. I called the number & got on Certegy website. Told me there was no transaction denied. [censored] because I could get my medicine at Dillons. We are suppose to stay at home per our governor but I need my meds so I drover 20 to Dillons and then had to drive home another 20 minutes without my drugs. So I am going to have to drive another 20 minutes to take cash over there. I am so mad right. I was so made I left my shopping cart just sitting there because I was mad plus had nothing but my checking account. Nobody can give me a reason why. I am fricken mad.
