Bed Bug Defense review: Scam and potential for unauthorized payments 5

I ordered Bed Defense’s “FREE” sample from their website and authorized them to deduct $3.95 for shipping and handling. I started thinking about it a few weeks later and looked up reviews for the company on the Internet. There were quite a few complaints about this company taking different amounts from their checking accounts on a monthly basis.

I am not about to let these people scam me! Emails and phone calls were not returned, even after threatening them with the BBB, FTC, etc. Finally, I called my bank and had this company blocked from further transactions on my card/account.

I would strongly urge others to do the same. I hope to get the word out so nobody else will be scammed!

And… complaints are forthcoming to the above-named agencies.

Geez People, when you order something for FREE and it only cost shipping and handling, read the Terms and agreements, you are almost 99% of the time signed up for Automatic Shipping!

I ordered the trial, never received it. they would not refund the postage although I never received anything. Then a month later, they charged 41.87. I had that charge reversed on my credit card and had them blocked. Lo and behold, the next month, there is another 41.87 charge. They change their name to get around the block. They used bedbugdefense, beddefense, bugdefense etc. I had this latest charge reversed, blocked their latest name and had my card # froze and discontinued. I'm getting a new card number. The lady at the credit card company said that blocking them wouldn't work because this company keeps making slight changes in their name whenever their transaction is blocked. So anyone having this continual problem with this company will need to have their card # changed. BTW, I have never received any product from this company to date.

I agree this is a rip-off product. I have a copy of my e-mails from them regarding my trial order. It does not say anything about cancelling with them in 30 days or they would ship another supply at $41.87. It does say they will ship another supply in 60 days as each supply is to last 60 days. I've had mine just a little over 30 days. As I recall I saw a picture with Dr Oz as if endorsing the product. Perhaps it was just a misleading reference to a topic on his show. That influenced my decision to try the product. I just called the number listed and spoke to someone named "Hanna" that sounded like she was well versed in responding to complaints and she made it sound like I failed to notify them in 30 days that I wasn't interested in their product. In addition, there wasn't any kind of an invoice or instructions on how to properly use the product. I agree a class action suit against them might send a message to others that consumers won't tolerate scams like this. JR

I just saw a charge to my debit card for $41.87 from this company. I had accepted to try for $3.95 but the email they sent me said NOTHING about the $41.87. I still have the email! It just says call the company if I want to return it but that the shipping fee was non refundable and there would be a restocking fee. Here the email..

I called and a customer service rep from India said that I would be refunded for the full amount in 5-7 business days. I'm filing a chargeback against them 1st thing tomorrow when the bank opens.

BedDefense should have a class-action suit against it. I also ordered it for $3.95 as a trial. They sent me back an e-mail which stated at the very end that if the product wasn't returned within 30 days you would be charged the full $41.87. I immediately contacted the company but I didn't get anywhere with them. After many more phone calls (they never could give me a supervisor) I advised them that I was going to file a fraudulent claim with my bank. I called my bank and they said it would be done once the monies went through. Somehow they returned my $3.95 so I didn't need to contact my bank. However, yesterday I received their package containing the BedDefense product. I am sending this back by certified mail, return receipt requested to "John Black CEO" of this company even though I doubt such a man exists. I am taking everything to my bank to see if they can help me so future charges will not be incurred though my Visa Debit card.
