I just spent a full day trying to get AT&T to make a service call to fix my phone. My parents purchased the AT&T U-Verse package that included internet, phones and cable TV. My dad ordered it a year ago and he passed away 4 weeks ago. My mother woke this morning to no phone service. I first tried to use their website to request a service call. After 1 frustrating hour, I started calling. I spoke with several customer service representatives, even supervisors but none would help. I had to have a 4 digit code that only my dead father knew. About June 16th, I woke up to a beep on my heart monitor, which is attached to a phone line. I had nothing. No phone, cable, internet. Called customer service. They couldn't fix it on their end. They said they couldn't send anyone out until the next day. I mentioned again that I had a heart monitor, didn't help. When the service tech came, it only about 30 mintues. I moved from Palmdale, CA to Los Angeles, CA, 2/2011. AT& T informed me that their, U-Verse service was not avalible in my new residence area. I was set up with a new account, which I had placed on auto payments. Recently while reviewing my bank statement, I found out that from 2/2012, until present AT&T has been double billing me ($43.00) payments on this account. I've never posted to a site to complain about anything, but after googling "AT&T U-verse fraud", I realized that I am definitely not the only person who is dealing with this. I'm curious as to whether there is a way to file a formal complaint with the FCC? I've even debated talking to an attorney friend to get advice on the matter since I am reasonably sure that AT&T is making millions of dollars in ripping off people, most of who don't even realize it's happening. I've had issues with them since day 1-- I was lied to about how much I would be paying per month...

AT&T U-verse - Costly Replacement of Defective DVR

Our DVR, supplied by AT&T U-Verse died last night. We lost 30 hours of recorded programming. This happened also in May 2011, and AT&T U-Verse sent a repairman the next day to provide us with a new dvr. This time, however, we were told that it would cost $149 for a repairman to come to our house or we could wait at a minimum of 3 days for them to ship us a new dvr. We would also have the responsibility of shipping back the defective dvr. We were told that this is their new "process".

We do not think this "process" is fair to the consumer....

We ordered U-verse; the next day our already exiting (for 40 years) phone service was turned off! We called from cell phone and inquired. AT&T said "Whoops - we messed up1", but that they would have to terminate both accounts (existing and U-verse) and re-instate, at no cost to us. Today we received an AT&T bill for monthly U-verse charges including a $180 charge for "Early Termination Fee" -- the same "termination" made by AT&T itself in order to correct it's original mistake! I just spent 30 minutes on a chat line with AT&T Troubleshooting; they checked the records...

When AT&T installed our U-Verse system, they disconnected all my existing cabling so that I can no longer watch the same program in each room. They did this so they could install additional receivers. They did not explain that these receivers were part of a promotion that would expire. After the unknown promotion expired they want to charge me $7.00/receiver. Last year when this occurred, the representative simply said that he would extend the promotion and I would not need to pay for it. Now the promotion is expiring again and they want me to pay an addition $21.00 plus taxes to keep the receivers...

I was expecting a modem delivery, that being the reason I called the customer service for the first time. The agent told me my modem was left with a person, and she had only the surname to offer me as description. I thought it might be the manager of the apartment, whose name I did not know as I recently moved there. She told me that she can check if they have a first name on the file.
After that I was put on hold for a long while. When she returned, she said they were going to send a second modem to my household, which will have an activation date 1 week later than the original activation...

U-Verse is not a provider, it is a non-provider.
Four installation dates have come and gone and no
U-Verse. Only for one of those dates was I called
about the installation not happening. After multiple calls to customer service and even a letter to the Senior Executive Vice President, Andy Geisse, my service provider remains Comcast. So my suggestion is that if your current provider is supplying good service, DON'T switch to U-Verse with the expectation of a better service provider. It just won't happen!...

I’ve had AT&T U-verse for several years; both tv & internet. About a year ago I started experiencing problems with the tv. If I watch a channel for several hours, the channel will freeze and then go black. The record function will still work on this channel and I can still see the picture on the preview page. The picture only recovers after I re-power the DVR. I’ve had 5 or 6 techs out to the house for this problem. They have replaced the filter, changed the port at the main node, replaced the gateway twice and replaced the DVR twice. Still no joy. If you call the AT&T troubleshooting...

On October 13, 2011, my husband and I ordered AT&T U-verse and Internet for our new home. Had we known the issues we would soon face with this company, we never would have chosen AT&T for our service. On that day, I ordered U200 and Pro Internet. Our order number was ***. We had an installation date of November 18th from 11-1pm. Our installation went fine, the techs set up our 2 HD DVR Receivers and we had U200 and more importantly, the DVR service.

I had dsl 6.0 for over a year, but only really hadabout 2.0 speed. I called numerous times to complain and got a different excuse everytime. Techs would come to my house and couldnt find anything wrong and just leave, or wouldnt even show up in the first place after wed wait all day. I was going to cancel my dsl when at&t said i could upgrade to uverse and that would fix my slow speeds.They said it would be $179. for the change, but with a $100 rebate it would be only $79.

For the THIRD time, the remote control for one of my tvs U-verse tvs just stopped working properly. I am unable to get acess to my tv stations because of this failure. In the past I have called AT&T U-verse for phone assistance, which was provided at great length and there were still issues left open.
As I have mentioned before, I've done this "phone assistance" about three times, spending a lot of my valuable time on the phone.
Since I am NOT a technical person I have no way of knowing if this will be an ongoing problem or if AT&T can do anything about the remote....

I recently moved and transferring my u-verse service has been an extremely painstaking process. First I was told it would be connected Saturday, the next day, then I was told I had to wait 10 days. I set the delivery for 4:30pm, which I setup w a phone agent. They were clear and repeated it back to me several times that someone would be here at 4:30. On the day of connection, I got a call at 8 saying they'd be out soon. I told them no one would be home until 4:30 like I previously set it up for and they apologized and said the info must not have been passed along. Then I got a call an hr later...
