American Express Mixed Customer Experiences with American Express

As someone deeply invested in the world of financial services, I've come across a wide range of opinions regarding American Express. It's clear that the company evokes strong emotions from its customers. Some praise the exceptional customer service and quick dispute resolution, highlighting instances where American Express went above and beyond to protect their interests. On the other hand, there are concerning reports of funds being held without explanation, credit limits being drastically reduced, and difficulties in resolving issues with the company. It seems that while some customers have had positive experiences with American Express, others have faced challenges that have left them frustrated and dissatisfied. It's essential for potential customers to weigh these contrasting reviews carefully before deciding to engage with American Express.

American Express I have had 3 different AMEX cards over the last 10+

I have had 3 different AMEX cards over the last 10+ years and customer service as well as the website have been outstanding. Compared to the websites and service with the 3 other major financial giants I have credit cards with (Chase, CITI and Barclays) I would rate AMEX the highest not just in terms of customer service and the website's usability but their credit cards have the best rewards programs available. I would especially recommend the Blue Cash Rewards American Express Card.

American Express Is this due to the covid-19?

I have an American express credit card and make payments on time never late. They just lowered my credit limit to the owed amount. I have great credit and pay all my bills on time. I'm sure this will drop my score because now the card shows maxed credit. No problem will pay it off. I talked to them on the phone and told them I was essential and still working. Wow that quick they were willing to
Reconsider raising it back up. We'll that seems illegal. Don't need them. Just wondering if this is happening to other customers.

American Express Customer service review

Having a question about my bill, I called American Express customer service. The person who took my call, Abraham, was the perfect example of what a customer service rep should be. He was professional, knowledgeable, personal and committed to giving the customer a positive result to the impending problem. My problem was involved and he followed it through to the last detail.
I was an extremely happy American Express customer when we ended the call. Thank you to his supervisor for selecting such a dedicated customer service rep

American Express American Express

I am a Gold member and I with is was a Platinum! The service they have provided me is stellar and their customer service on the phone has been great! They look things up for you on the spot especially if you are using their travel services. The card does work slightly different than traditional credit cards. There is no set limit you can make purchases like normal but for large purchases you need to get approval. Not sure the limits on the amount to barrow is. I have not needed to use that service but if i needed to make a larger purchase if would probably use a different card or get a loan. I am using this card for travel purposes at this time!

American Express AmEx: Don't leave home without it

This is THE credit card to carry and use, and it is the oldest.

There are several levels of cards for holders -- each level is designed to meet the specific needs for its client: travel, large purchases, fat bonus points, etc.

An AmEx card/account is not for everyone, mind you. You must settle up the balance due each month, or risk a hefty penalty. It is not financially designed for those living from paycheck to paycheck. But, if you want to be able to conveniently charge your purchases, travel, dining, etc, this is the most respected, prestigious and least hassle-free.

Really and truly -- do not leave home without it.

5 lovely stars for my 100th review go to American Express.

American Express I TOTALLY LOVE AMERICAN EXPRESS!

I have had my Business American Express card for about 20 years and I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THEM! (And no, I'm not a "paid review" nor was I solicited to write one) Just yesterday they saved me from falling deeper into a Yelp "campaign" that I see other business owners got smacked for hundreds of dollars. They send a text notification with each purchase (if I'm not making the purchase in person) and I was able to stop Yelp from sucking hundreds from me. AMEX has ALWAYS been EXTREMELY HELPFUL with any single problem I have ever experienced and I tell everybody that I have never called them and not had an extremely pleasant experience... their staff training is impeccable!

American Express Thanks American Express Travel

The staff at the American Express Travel have exceeded our expectations! Thank you Stacy and Chris for your help in canceling a hotel reservation in Napa at the 3 Palms Napa Valley Hotel and Resort,
When we received notice day of our travel that the performer at the Uptown had canceled his show due to illness, we immediately called American Express travel to see if we could avoid any penalty's, these gals called the hotel direct and explained the situation. Unfortunately the manager at the hotel declined to waive the penalty, which was the one night charge. But, our American Express representative was able to waive the cancellation charge by AX and get some money back to us!
Thanks American Express!

American Express First, not all American Express Cards have an annual

First, not all American Express Cards have an annual fee. I. e. If you belong to Costco, you can get an American Express Card for free with rewards, such as, getting 3% back on gas purchases anywhere. The rewards will vary according to the card used, so pick your card carefully. Their customer service is excellent and from AMERICA!

Recently, I had a battle with United Airlines to refund a ticket price due to my sister having cancer and not being able to fly. Her oncologist stated that she should no longer fly. I sent a letter from her doctor to United Airlines and United refused to give back any money despite the fact that they stated they would do so. I fought with United for over a month and then decided to dispute the charge with American Express. American Express asked for my documentation and had the matter settled within 5 days. United gave back 100% of my ticket price.

Not many companies appear to go to bat for their customers or use their resources to help them. Most companies are simply out to get whatever they can from you and forget that YOU are the customer resulting in a loss of business for them. American Express breaks the mold and will do whatever it takes to help their customers. Kudos to American Express.

American Express Don't Leave Home With Out it

I started out with the green card. I thought it was pretty good but I also didn't think I was getting enough points back.
Then I had a dental emergancy. Everything worked out good until I was getting ready to pay. When I got the bill I was in shock, over 4K. I was in a slight panic as the receptionest was stairing at me waiting for me to pay. I opened up the Amex app on my phone and checked my spending power. Approved in 1 second. When I was leaving the parking lot all I could think of was WOW this is the best card I ever had! A few months ago I upgraded to the gold card and at first I thought the annual fees were a little high $250.00 but the points are amazing. 4X the points, some of their preferred places are 10X the points. In 2 months I earned over $300.00. The gold card is made out of metal and very heavy it's a Beast. When you hand it to someone for payment it commends a lot of respect. I highly recommend it.
I always keep in mind that its a check card and not a credit card so I use it like cash, I only buy what I can afford and generally make 2 payments a month.
One problem that it does create(by being so awesome). I have to force myself to use my other credit cards so they don't lower my credit limits.
If I could give Amex 10 stars I would :)

American Express Avoid American Express Serve - A Customer's Warning

As a fellow consumer, I feel compelled to share my experience with American Express Serve. I applied for an income tax advance through Jackson Hewitt and opted for their Serve card. Unfortunately, the card never arrived, leaving me without access to my funds. Customer service was a nightmare - outsourced to a foreign country with poor English skills, long hold times, and no resolution in sight. The representative's only advice was to wait 30 days for the card to be issued. It felt like a scam, and I urge you to steer clear of this service.

American Express Terrible Customer Service and Limited Use: My Experience with American Express Serve

I gotta say, my experience with American Express Serve was not great. I mean, I deal with Comcast and PG&E on the regular, but this was a whole new level of bad customer service. The lady I talked to was so rude, I was ready to cancel my account right then and there. I mean, come on, is it really that hard to be polite?

Honestly, I wouldn't have even bothered with this card if I knew how useless Metabank was. Apparently, a lot of companies don't even do business with them. So, what's the point of having a card that can't even be used at most places? It's like having a car with no gas - what's the point?

And don't even get me started on the fact that you can't pay most bills with this thing. What kind of card is that? If I can't use it to pay my bills, what's the point of having it at all? It's like having a hammer that can't even hammer nails. Useless.

If negative stars were a thing, this card would be getting plenty of them, I'm sure. But, unfortunately, I can only give it one star. And that's being generous.

In the end, we switched to Greendot and couldn't be happier. Good riddance to the dead weight that is Servecard.

American Express Review: American Express Serve Card - Convenient but Beware of Fees and Customer Service

about their customers. It's a shame because I've had good experiences with them before this incident. The customer service is not helpful at all and they just repeat the same information over and over again. It's frustrating and I feel like my money is being held hostage.

Aside from this issue, the American Express Serve card is a convenient way to manage your money. You can easily load funds onto the card and use it like a debit card. It's accepted at most places that accept American Express and you can even use it to pay bills online. The mobile app is user-friendly and allows you to check your balance, view transactions, and even deposit checks.

One thing to note is that there are fees associated with using the card. There is a monthly fee of $6.95, but this can be waived if you have direct deposit set up. There are also fees for ATM withdrawals and foreign transactions. Make sure to read the terms and conditions carefully before using the card to avoid any surprises.

Overall, I would recommend the American Express Serve card for its convenience and ease of use. However, be aware of the potential for funds to be held for up to 30 days and the associated fees. Customer service could also use some improvement.

American Express AMEX SERVE: A Disappointing Experience with Customer Service and Registration

So, I got this SERVE.com Card as a gift and boy, was I excited to use it! But, little did I know that registering it would be such a hassle. I followed the instructions and went online to register the product, but it just wouldn't work. I tried at least 50 times and even talked to 7 Customer Care agents, but most of them just hung up on me! Can you believe that? I was so angry and frustrated that I could barely contain myself.

It seems like AMEX SERVE doesn't really care about their customers. It's like they're just waiting for us to mess up so they can say "gotcha!" and leave us hanging. The one agent who actually stayed on the line with me told me to wait 16 hours and then take it to a local PNC Bank. So, I did just that. But, when I got there, the teller asked for my PIN code. How am I supposed to have a PIN code if I can't even register the product? It's ridiculous!

Honestly, this whole experience has been disgusting. I just want access to my funds and for the account to be closed forever. I hope AMEX SERVE learns from this and puts their customers first.

American Express Serve American Express Prepaid Debit Card Review: Not Suitable for Overseas Users

I recently got myself the Serve American Express prepaid debit card to save some money on bank fees when I need to withdraw money from Thailand. However, I faced some issues with accessing the website and app since I am currently in Thailand. Despite my attempts to log in, I was unable to do so. I decided to give their customer service a call to seek assistance. They informed me that I could do everything by phone, but it would take a long time. This made me realize that this card is not suitable for me as it would take a lot of time to call them every time I need to check my account or transfer money.

I was disappointed with my experience as I expected to have a secure website to access my account. It seems like they do not have good firewalls, which could be a concern for many users. I have decided to withdraw my money and cancel my cards as it is not worth the hassle. I would advise others to read reviews before getting this card as it may not be the best option for everyone.

In conclusion, I had a negative experience with the Serve American Express prepaid debit card. It is not suitable for me as I cannot access the website or app from Thailand, and it takes a long time to do everything by phone. I hope that they can improve their services in the future to cater to users who are overseas.

American Express Disappointing Experience with American Express Serve Customer Service

So, I wanted to share my experience with American Express Serve. I had some issues with my card and when I called customer service, the representative suggested that I could transfer money to Walmart for pickup. I was a bit confused because how could I do that without my old or new card being active? It just didn't make sense to me.

Then, I received an email asking me to complete a fraud form to submit. I was frustrated because again, how could I do that without my card information? It just seemed like the customer service representatives didn't have a clue about what was going on.

The whole situation was ridiculous, especially since it was clearly stated not to cancel my card until I called due to my deposit, bills, and Valentine's Day. But somehow, my card was cancelled without my authorization, which ended up costing me money in late fees and even caused me to miss out on a daily number that could have won me over $1200.

I'm seeking answers and retribution, and I plan on calling the BBB, Solve It Seven, and anyone else who can help me with this situation. It's just frustrating when you rely on a service and it doesn't work out the way it should. Hopefully, my reviews and calls will help them learn and improve their customer service in the future.

American Express Terrible Experience with Jackson Hewitt Card: Account Locked for No Reason

This card is the worst one I've ever had! I don't understand why they locked my account for no reason. When I called to unlock it, they said it would take 5 to 7 business days for the emails to go through and process with their team. What do they mean? I didn't claim fraud or anything like that. They just randomly decided to lock my account up and told me it would take a week to fix it. My birthday is in 3 days, and this is so frustrating! I had to talk to four different people, and they kept transferring me to the wrong department. They couldn't transfer me to the right one, so I had to call back and start the whole waiting hold process over. If you get this card through Jackson Hewitt for your tax return like I did, I highly suggest you take all of your money off of the card and transfer it to another one. This is not the only problem I've had with them. They charge a monthly service fee, and I recommend Varo instead!

American Express American Express Serve: A Prepaid Card Nightmare

I gotta say, I've heard some things about American Express Serve that ain't too good. And let me tell you, after trying it out for myself, I can confirm that it's #WORSER than I ever imagined. This prepaid debit card and its affiliates are just not worth it, even if your credit score is so low it's practically underground. The employees at AMEX S will straight up lie to your face and tell you that this card will magically boost your credit to 650 in just one month. Don't believe it for a second.

First of all, they'll steal your money faster than you can say "what the heck?" They'll block you after just one or two purchases and then expect you to jump through a million hoops just to establish a new password. And don't even get me started on the extra fees they charge at the ATM. It's like they're trying to make it as difficult as possible for you to access your own money. And if you do manage to get through all of that, they'll put you through an interrogation just to use your own dang money. It's ridiculous.

Oh, and if you're thinking about using this card while traveling, just don't even bother. I've been waiting for over a week to transfer funds from this BS account to my external account, and they're giving me hell. It's my money and I need it now, but apparently they don't care about that. And don't even get me started on the so-called supervisors I had to talk to about the situation. The first one could barely speak English and seemed like the same representative disguising her voice. And the second one sounded like she had just rolled out from under a rock where she was sleeping for days. Maybe she thought she was Rip Van Winkle or something, but either way, she was no help at all.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend American Express Serve to my worst enemy. If you're looking for a prepaid card, go with Discover. They actually offer refunds on your deposit after a year of successful on-time payments. Now that's a deal worth considering.

American Express Disappointed with American Express Serve: Issues with Transactions and Registration Denials

So, I went to Walmart and got myself an American Express Serve card. At first, everything was going smoothly with my transactions. But then, I tried to order some pizza and my purchase was declined. It turns out that I had entered the wrong zip code. Silly me! However, even though the purchase didn't go through, a hold was still placed on my card for the amount of my order, which was $110.93. I was pretty upset about this, so I called customer service to see what was going on. The representative told me that the hold would be lifted in 5-8 business days. I thought this was ridiculous - why should there be a hold when I had entered invalid information in the first place? The rep also suggested that I register my card in case I needed to dispute any charges. That made sense to me, so I decided to try to register my card.

Unfortunately, I was repeatedly denied. I called customer service back and was told that I must be entering something wrong. I didn't think that was the case, since the information I was using to register was the same information I had used to get my balance and talk to customer service on the phone. The representative suggested that I try registering from a computer instead of my phone. I tried that, but I was still denied.

A few days later, I checked my balance again and saw that the hold had now posted as a completed transaction. I was pretty upset about this, since I had already disputed the charge with the pizza merchant and it didn't look like I was going to get my money back. I called American Express to see if they could help, but they refused to review or correct the charge. I was pretty angry about this - I mean, how was I supposed to know that a hold would turn into a completed transaction?

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with American Express Serve. I've had issues with transactions like this before, and the registration denials are really frustrating. I think something needs to be done to fix these problems. If American Express and the pizza merchant don't correct this issue soon, I'm going to pursue legal action. These cards are trash, and American Express as a company isn't much better.

American Express Disappointing Experience with American Express Serve: Delayed Payment and Poor Customer Service

So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty rough experience with American Express Serve. I tried to pay a small cleaning company in Florida for a residential cleaning, and I thought everything was gonna be cool. I mean, I knew the payment was gonna be made by check, but the delivery date they gave me was "By 6/04/2022," which seemed okay. I was hoping it would get there by 6/02, but whatever, right? So I confirmed the payment, and the amount was immediately deducted from my account on 5/28.

But then, 6/04 came and went, and no check. I called up Serve Customer Service, and they told me to wait until Tuesday, 6/08, for the check to arrive. But even then, it still didn't come. The business I was trying to pay said they couldn't wait any longer, and they were worried about an additional hold on the funds by their bank. So I contacted Serve again, and they told me to call back in 2 days. We ended up making the payment by Cash App, and the funds were in their account within seconds. But of course, the payment arrived the next day. They had already been paid, so they mailed the check back to me.

I tried to deposit the check in my non-Serve account by endorsing it with "Not used for intended purpose." I knew it was a long shot since I wasn't the Payee, but my name and address were on the check in the usual account name spot. And, as I expected, my bank wouldn't take the check. So I contacted Serve again and explained that the check was returned to me and in my possession. But after 15 minutes on the phone, they told me the check was still "Processing" in their system, so they couldn't return the funds to my account at this time. I mean, come on, this is my money we're talking about here! I told them that, but they just told me to call back in one week.

The check is only $120, but they've been using my money for free since 5/28/2022, and that just ain't right. I mean, I think Serve must be the Amex for poor folks or something, because they sure treated me like I was dirt. I'm very dissatisfied with them, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

American Express Beware of Bill Payments made by check

On May 28th, 2022, I initiated a bill payment from my Serve account to a small cleaning company in FL for a residential cleaning scheduled for the following week. I was aware the payment was being made by check, but the delivery date given was 'By 6/04/2022'. I was hoping for delivery by 6/02, but 6/04 seemed acceptable so I confirmed payment. The payment amount was immediately deducted from my account on 5/28. I notified the company that I had paid the invoice online and delivery would be on or before 6/04/2022. Well 6/4 came and went and no check. I called Serve Customer Service and I was told to wait until Tues, 6/08, for check to arrive. Well, the mail was delivered on 6/08 and they still did not have the time to check. The business said they could not wait any longer and they had concerns about an additional hold on the funds by their bank. I contacted Serve again to advise them the merchant requested alternate payment, but and I was told to call back in 2 days. As requested we made the payment by Cash App and the funds were in their account within seconds. Of course, the payment did arrive the next day. They had already been paid so they mailed the check back to me. I tried to deposit check in my none Serve account by endorsing check with Not used for intended purpose. I thought it was a long shot since I was not the Payee but my name and address was on the check in the usual account name spot on the check. As I anticipated, my bank would not take the check. I contacted Serve again and explained the check was returned to me and in my possession. After 15 min, I was told the check was still 'Processing' in their system so they couldn't return the funds to my account at this time. I said to the person on the phone that this was my money not theirs. I was told to call back in one week. The check is $120 and they have been using my money for free since 5/28/2022 and that just isn't right! I think Serve must be the Amex for poor folks and thus they treat you as SUCH! American Express Useless

This card was offered as a payment method for tax returns. It's trash! Serve.com sent me two emails a day telling me to enroll in direct deposit. It was confusing because I was supposed to get my check directly deposited anyway. As it got closer to when I was supposed to receive my checks, it got extremely annoying!
Now I got my refund and I can't use this card anywhere. I tried to pay bills, no-one accepts it. I tried to withdraw money from my bank and its ATM. No deal. I can only withdraw up to $400 a day from certain 711 stores.
The MoneyPass app you need to download and use to find compatible ATMs is also trash. They lead you to little hole in the wall places that almost don't exist. I couldn't find one open.
My other option is to drive an hour away to the nearest Wal-Mart, stand in line for hours and supposedly withdraw up to $2900 a day. I hope my contractor doesn't mind getting paid in payments. I hope I don't lose the cash.

Update:
Yesterday I spent several hours trying to withdraw money. I went to one Wal-Mart, stood in line for 30 minutes only to be turned away. They said the card wasn't allowing me to withdraw any amount of money. I called the Serve customer service number for the 5th time. Those operators are clueless. She kept asking me if I want a new card or to change my pin. I kept explaining to her, as I did others, that I need to withdraw all my money at once. She said there was nothing wrong with my card. I got transferred over to American Express, waited 20 minutes and when someone finally answered, they couldn't hear me. They hung up on me.
OMG! I lost my sanity at that point!
I drove another 45 minutes to the next Wal-Mart. I figured something was wrong with the system. Same problem. I asked for a supervisor and was ignored. I called Serve again. I got a rude operator and argued with her for a while before she finally told me about the RIA money pick up. Its not called a withdrawal, so nobody knew what I was talking about. Like I said, clueless!

So, the Serve website says you can receive up to $2900 a day. Not true. You can only get $2500 at a time.
Wal-Mart's prices to "withdraw" money and cash government checks are significantly less expensive than using this card.
My plans have been put on hold. I've wasted so much time and gas on this card. I can't transfer my money into my bank account where I can withdraw it for free. It pushed me into an emotional breakdown!
I will NEVER use or recommend this card again. As a matter of fact, I'm taking the American Express stickers out of my shop window and will no longer accept American Express at my place of business.

Photos:
One photo is a screen shot of the serve website where it says you can send yourself up to $2900. That's a lie!
The rest are in order as you search for a way to access your money. One shows the balance with no options. You have to figure it out yourself.

Then you get some vague options. Look at the silly name for the option I needed.

When you click on ATM withdrawal, it requires you to download an app that doesn't work.

Bottom line, Serve.com and its products are trash!

American Express Simon gift card

My mother in law last Christmas bought me a Gift certificate for $200. It’s a Simon gift card but combined with American Express. My husband passed away at 44 in January of last year so I’ve not used it from lack of even a want too. Finally I decided to use it at a clothing store tonight. My total was $177.84. The card is for $200. I checked my balance on- line and on automated system and it gave me balance in full of $200 on both systems. Each time I tried to complete this purchase it declined! It states to reach out to card issuer. I even tried to add it as a payment method in PayPal and same thing. DECLINED! I then tried to add to my phone wallet but same! I called them and they said it doesn’t accept reoccurring charges. I explained one time purchase. Then they made up a story there was a I tune charge! They are complete scammers. I literally just pealed the sealed card tonight to use. Not 1 human has ever even saw this! They hung up on me!

Claimed loss: $200 they have took our money

Desired outcome: To be able toUse my Christmas Present!

American Express Recharging me after I got a refund, then closed a dispute

It is logical to assume that you close a dispute after you receive a merchant refund. Merchant sent me email to that effect. Amex stated that They gave me the refund and since I closed the dispute, I had to reopen another and wait up to 90 days. I sent them a copy of the refund email. Then, they opened a chargeback to the merchant after he gave me the refund. I am very depressed and have had chest pains over this fraud. The consumer protection act does not require 90 days, but gives the credit company this amount of time to settle the dispute. So, Amex, it manipulating the law to their advantage. I think this is a way of manipulating their income sales figures.

I don't believe these people should be able to abuse senior citizens or their well being and health.

Claimed loss: 349.00

Desired outcome: I want my money back, then to close the card I have had with Amex for over 20 years. I'm not saying please. It is my money and you are holding it for no reason.

American Express customer service

i reported a fraudulent charge on my card prior to transaction, amex chose to believed the seller and not the fake document and emails they sent (I reported to the company they copied in NY)

amex originally refunded me, then after another review they changed because the seller couriered an empty box that I refused..

amex chose to pay a scam seller above a loyal customer that pays on time and did 300k + in a year.

Desired outcome: a proper document review of the time line and events.

American Express Gift card - case # [protected]

I received a gift card from my employer and when I went to activate the card it had already been hacked and monies taken off the balance. I called AmexGift card and was told that they would follow up with the complaint. Six weeks later no action was taken until I called multiple times and days later. Then I was informed that I would get just was left on the balance even thought I had not charged anything on the card. Accordingly, there was no follow up until I called back multiple times. the Card was a $50 gift card and I am only being given a $33 check because the account was hacked. I will no longer accept the gift card from my employer I will encourage them to give us Amazon Gift Cards. You guys could/should do better.

Desired outcome: I would like a check for $50 the original amount of the Gift Card.[protected]

American Express Sarah Miller lead consultant

I hold 2 Amex cards a Platinum and a corporate card. I’ve never really received great perks from the company and was excited to have access to see the foo fighters at Austin city limits. After waiting an hour and a half on line. I was finally allowed to access the American Express lounge. I was up there a total of 10 minutes in between performances and was told I need to leave by a Sarah Miller. Those “perks” I was so excited for was completely false advertising. As a loyal customer I feel the company has lied to me and made me feel insignificant. Really considering canceling my card and going to master card where they appreciate their customers.

American Express No promotional points

We received an offer for 95000 Skymiles if approved for the Delta Reserve card by Amex. My daughter applied and was approved. Before using card I called to make sure she was eligible for the offer and was told yes. This was in Oct 2022. I called again in Dec 2022 with a different issue but also asked if she was eligible and again was told yes. In the spring of 2023 I called after fulfilling the $6000 spend requirement and was told she was not eligible. I have wrote letters to corporate Amex offices and received letters back reading they would get back to me. They have not! Numerous phone calls to low level agents without ever getting to someone who can make a decision. I even said many times we would except the normal 50000 Skymiles offer. My 21 year old daughter would have never paid $550 for this card without receiving any benefit!

Desired outcome: Want the 95000 or 50000 Skymiles offers

American Express American Express Scam

As a 30 year long term customer, American Express charged me a $24.00 late fee and an additional $14.65 in interest charges on a $1150.79 payment I made to them in August, 2033 which they said was one date late. I checked my bank and he payment was made thru Billpay a full six days prior to the due date and the money was removed from by account three days before the due date. I believe American Express sat on the money so they could profit by charging me late fees. Can you imagine the profits they are making if they are treat all of their clients this way? I called to complain and spoke to 3 supposed supervisors, two of which who could hardly speak understandable English. The end result is that told me to shove it and are not crediting the bogus charges. I would strongly recommend using a different credit card. American Express does not appear to be the same great company they were in the past.

Desired outcome: Full credit of the $43.64 that was stolen from me.

I am reaching out regarding my recent application for the Platinum Business American Express card, which unfortunately resulted in a denial on August 5, 2023.I value my relationship with American Express and have had a long history of positive experiences with your company. I am writing to address the denial of my application, as I believe there may be some context that could provide a clearer perspective on my financial history.

In 1991, I faced a significant hardship when my wife fell terminally ill. This financial hardship had a profound impact on my credit and financial situation during that time.

However, I am pleased to inform you that I successfully managed to overcome these challenges over the years. Through hard work and dedication, I have not only rebuilt my financial stability but have also maintained an impeccable credit score for the past 25 years. The Platinum American Express card offers benefits that align perfectly with my business needs and travel requirements. Given my financial recovery and my consistent responsible financial behavior over the past several decades, I am eager to become a Platinum Business American Express cardholder.

I kindly request your assistance and guidance on how to proceed with a reconsideration of my application for the Platinum Business American Express card. I would greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations you may have on steps I can take to demonstrate my current financial stability and responsibility.

Please let me know if there are any specific documents or information I should provide to support my request for reconsideration. I am fully committed to demonstrating my eligibility for the Platinum Business American Express card and would greatly appreciate your guidance in this matter.

American Express Unauthorized charges

I discovered that my card was used for unauthorized charges of almost $1000. And I reported it to the american express serve card and I also done every step that was asked of me so I could get my money back, but I didn't get a penny back and I don't understand why I didn't? This was a very stressful and emotional rollercoaster which I am still suffering from. I didn't know that I could reach out to anyone else about it to help me. I have lost so much over the past few years due to unauthorized charges and during the pandemic my unemployment account through the state was hacked and they took every penny I had and I only got back a third of that, and my direct express card has took most of my check due to unauthorized charges for the past 3 months even though I had locked the card online and it is a lie that your safe and protected if it's locked. So I found this online a few minutes ago so if anyone can please tell me how I can get my money back I would truly appreciate it because at this point I can't recover, it's happened so much that i'm suffering and doing without things while someone else has created a nightmare for my daily life. Please help me or tell me how I can help myself, all this is so hard to deal with. Thank you for reading my story and I hope I can get some help.

Desired outcome: Want my money back

American Express American Express credit card with Bonvoy Rewards

During an up-grade presentation at Marriott Vacation Club, Orlando, Fla.

I applied for and received a American Express Bevy Credit card which was to be used for the up-grade as extra Bonvoy points were available if used. This transaction took place on May 18, 2023. After 2 months and 2 purchase statements from American Express showing over 135,000 Bonvoy points earned not one point has been posted to my Bonvoy account. After several phone calls to American Express and Marriott Bonvoy, over 12 calls, I was told my account at both was the same: account names, account numbers, points to be issued, e-mail address, phone numbers, but no knows how to activate my account. American Express and Marriott Bonvoy need to have better communication with their customers.

Desired outcome: i'd appreciate response and to received my earned Bonvoy points.

American Express Personal credit card

Recovery of Accidental payment to very old and expired American express Account

To Whom it may concern,

I send this email in desperation for some help with an unusual matter that does not fit into a convenient category. I am hoping to reach someone within American Express who will take ownership of this unusual problem and see it to a positive outcome. Let me explain,

Back prior to 2016 my wife and I had an America Express CostCo credit card. The card was in both my wife's name and my Name. We have not used this card since 2016 and as I understand, the ownership of these cards was somehow given to CitiBanc. Even though we had not used the card since then, the card's number and payee information remained in my bill pay list which I have through my credit union, TruWest. On May 8th of this year, while trying to pay a different credit card company, I accidentally instructed my credit union to perform an electronic payment of $5000.00 to the outdated American Express Costco card. The actual transaction occurred on May 10th; however, I did not realize my error until after the payment was sent.

I have attached proof of the electronic transaction which was provided to me from my credit union in addition to several screen shots of my account. It contains, I believe, the relevant information of the transaction. Part of its information follows:

Payment requested on 5/8/23

Payment sent on 5/10/23

Payee: American Express

Amount: $5000.00

Account #: [protected]

Payment sent from: TruWest Credit Union account ending in 6660

Confirmation #:QBCCWTQZ

my phone number: [protected]

my email address: wade.[protected]@gmail.com

my Name: David Wade Eickbusch

truWest email: [protected]@truwest.org ;

My credit union has indicated that the payment was received by American Express.

I can still get transaction data on this account by dialing the American Express general number and entering the account number. The information it provides is that a $5000.00 payment was received on May 10th, however, the balance indicates zero dollars.

Please assign someone to work with me to recover this payment. Because it is unusual, I believe that some investigative work will need to be done by American Express to determine the location of the payment. I can provide whatever info that is needed over the phone or in conjunction with TruWest. I would also be willing to start another credit card and transfer the $5000.00 into it if this can resolve the problem more easily.

Sincerely,

Wade Eickbusch

Desired outcome: Return of $5000.00 Accidental Payment
