Aspen Dental - Upper dentures

Aspen Dental.. it took 6 visits to get my permanent upper dentures. On the day I was supposed to get my permanent dentures I was told that one of the teeth cracked and it would be 3 hours for them to replace it. I went to get something to eat and came back after an hour and a half thinking I would wait in the waiting room until they were ready. When I...

Then I lost my job and had to cancel the other two procedures which I was billed $866.00 for. Been trying to get credit ever since. They keep telling me working on it. Aspen Dental Reimburse $379 for services not rendered

Aspen Dental of Plover has acknowledged and verified that they owe me $379 for services not rendered for my mother Ilene Havitz. Michelle, who claims to be in charge of this location, has told me on three different occasions that I will be receiving a check rather than reimbursing my credit card that I made payment on. She assured me that I would be receiving this check by August 21, 2023. Today is August 24, 2023 and a check has not arrived. Please contact me immediately to resolve this problem. Kathi Havitz [protected]

Desired outcome: I would like my money back that is due to me.

Aspen Dental - Unprofessional services, late product, poor service

On April 13th, 2023 I had broken my bar that is glued to the bottom inside front teeth. I was looking for a emergency dental service that could help. I found Aspen Dental on google and called. The call was answered by customer service rep, who I asked is this something Aspen Dental could help me with. She replied yes and had an appointment for me in Oak...

Aspen Dental Horrible experience

I visited Aspen Dental on July 13,2023. I had a first time visit in order to have my dental health cleared for an upcoming surgery.

They did an initial exam and X-rays. I was informed that I needed a root canal. I scheduled the root canal for 8/24/23 and paid my out of pocket cost. One day prior to my appointment, I was contacted and told me that they did not have a doctor to perform the procedure.

After waiting over a month, only to be notified a day before the procedure is total negligence. They attempted to offer a reschedule at a different office a week later, I declined. I contacted that office directly and was told that I was unable to have the procedure performed there either, due to no doctor. I am glad I did not rely on them to schedule me.

I would be out another week of time. I tried getting my records and x-rays to go somewhere else, but was unable to receive these records expediently. Apparently they have to get them from their main office, even though I was seen at the office that I was attempting to get the info from.

I am so upset over this experience and the desk help and supposed manager could not understand why I was so upset! I should not have my insurance company charged for the initial visit, because now I have to start over somewhere else.

I hope that I can find someone to do my procedure in a hurry so my surgery will not be postponed.

I am in a lot of pain and really need this surgery to alleviate this pain. The negligence of this office will cause additional pain and suffering due to the lack of competence.

Desired outcome: total refund, including to my insurance

Aspen Dental Invisalign progress, service, communication, loyalty to patients, care, upholding your oath to take care of patients and to do what is right by them.

Started Invisalign program with them approx 2 years ago. Asked for Revision. Completed correctly. 2nd time around with Invisalign revision was a NIGHTMARE. NO Dentist in house to complete properly with scan. Revision Scan was completed by only a Dental hygienist with no Dentist present. This was on 7/3. Was told that trays would be in production and would get a call back as soon as possible. On 7/17 dentist visit for filling. Was told on that date, Dentist in house had not even approved Revision trays. By the way at least 3 weeks out on previous trays (still wearing). Called on 7/20-7/27 with no Answer at main number. Left multiple VM. NO Call back. Finally on 7/31 call to my phone/VM left that Trays were in production but it was being pushed for time in relation to revision. OK, REALLY. Revision scan was on 7/3. On 7/31 you are just now getting trays approved and in production and It is being pushed for time. I am so confused. On 8/2-8/5 calls were made by me to F/U on Tray completion. NO Answer at main number. No Call back after Numerous Messages left. On 8/22 called again. To learn that Trays are still not in office and they have no idea what happened. Of course Main dentist LIKE ALWAYS is not even in Office today. They have no idea why they have my box for Trays but no trays in box. THIS PLACE IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I am so SAD and SICK that I, an Educated BSN, RN could even get sucked into such a Sham of a Dentist. I can take comfort in the fact that I can return to my regular dentist for a referral. However, How many more people are they going to take their money and not complete a task and or appropriate dental care and themselves have no care in then world?

Desired outcome: I want my Full money back. I am not happy. I am on 2nd Revision since 1st Revision was a fail. However, I am at approx 2 plus months out on 2nd revision trays with no outcome in sight.

Aspen Dental Incomplete root canal

I had a root canal done on February 18, 2023, on a Saturday morning in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Doctor that performed the root canal was Dr. Ashraf Harhash.

He is out of Houston, Texas where he has his practice. I have Humana plus medicare and he was on my network plan.

The manager at Aspen Dental name is Kristen Chapa, she was no help at all. I waited about 3 hours that day, he would see at least two other patients also for root canals. He would make a trip once a month at Aspen to do root canals. Unfortunately, he didn't do the root canal correctly on me. A few months later I spoke with Humana to let them know and they were giving me the run around, then I would speak with several people from Aspen Dental and they would also give me the run around.

Turns out I had an infection on the # 14 tooth that Dr. Ashraf Harhash did.

I then had to see my dentist here where I live. They did an x-ray but could not show anything. Then she recommended me to go see Dr. Jared King dmd. which he was out of network. I did make an appointment to see him a week later. He took two exams of my #14 tooth and informed me I have an infection, which needed attention right away. I then had surgery to remove the infection. I have been fighting back and forth with Aspen Dental with no remorse or help. I have been through so much stress and pain. I need my money back. I had to dip into my savings account to pay for the surgery. The amount of $ 1,550.00 plus previous exams of192.06, total of $1,742.06.

I feel Aspen Dental is just out to make money. When is this going to stop, these big companies taking advantage of the patients. Humana is also to blame. They are very limited in doctors in my network.

Desired outcome: I want my money back.

Aspen Dental Bill balancing

I went to Aspen Dental on 8/15/23. I need on emergency root canal and crown. I know exactly how my insurance works, what is covered, how the contract between my insurance and in-network providers works and have knowledge of medical coding and billing. I have no deductibles or copays for emergency and regular dental care. I have special needs disability insurance. I should have no problem getting my emergency taken care of with no out of pocket costs. They said the entire treatment would cost $8900 and I would have to pay $5000 out of pocket upfront before insurance even goes through. They are bill balancing and that is fraud and illegal.

Desired outcome: I'm just providing information to worn others. I will never use there services again.

Aspen Dental Product defect and customer service provided after incident

I started treatment with Aspen Dental on June 20, 2022, to prepare for a right-side upper bridge after my initial exam on March 7, 2022. On August 8, 2022, I received my bridge on the upper right side of my mouth. The dentist told me it was made from their best material, and I’ll be set for years. It was perfect. I paid over $3000 out of pocket; my dental insurance covered the remainder.

On August 5, 2023, early Saturday, at 3:00 am, I woke up with an object in my mouth. To my surprise, it was the middle section of my bridge. I immediately started crying and searching for an open Aspen Dental somewhere as I was headed on a family trip of a lifetime with my family that we had been paying for, for two (2) years. No office was open on that Saturday or Sunday. The break left sharp edges on the two (2) anchor teeth that were cutting my jaw and tongue, and the rear crown tooth was sensitive.

I went to the Hampton, Virginia office on Monday morning, August 7, 2023, at 7 am and waited for the door to open to be seen as an emergency patient. I was told the dentist (TAGHIZADEH, FARSHAD) that performed my initial installation had moved to Arizona (I believe). I saw a dentist (PATEL, ARTI M- according to my most recent claim), filling in for the office dentist on vacation. She said she could not put it back together because it BROKE. She also stated my bridge was made out of their best porcelain material. She could smooth the edges to stop the cuts and put a temporary coating on the sensitive tooth. She said her adjustments and services would be covered at no charge.

As we were leaving the following day, I wanted to know when I could be scheduled to have my bridge replaced; I was told to talk to the office manager. To my utter disbelief, when I spoke with the office manager, she told me I would have to pay $5000 for another bridge. I was devastated and angered beyond words that Aspen Dental was not standing behind its products and service. I did nothing to my knowledge that caused my bridge to break. There was always a little give in the bridge, which I felt was normal to be able to floss and clean properly. My bridge lasted LESS than a year! I have a bridge on the upper left side I received from a dentist that is no longer in practice over six (6) years ago, and it’s still there. I am asking for your corporation to stand behind your service.

Desired outcome: To provide a replacement of the broken bridge

Aspen Dental Service, common courtesy, pain and loss work time

So, I am thinking of getting a lawyer involved with Aspen Dental, Sherman Texas! I started this journey November 15, 2022, and 10-MONTHS and 3 DAYS LATER... it's still going. I had an appointment to get my teeth looked at because I had two teeth that broke and wanted to get them fix. At that appointment they said they could pull all of my top teeth and I am a candidate for permanent dentures and my bottom a partial. So, I agreed to the plan of treatment. Boy! If I only knew then what kind of headaches I am in for. My top teeth were pulled,4 post added and went back for filling on November 19, 2022, for my lowers. Again, on December 2, 2022, for checkup - all good and again on December 9th and 30th, 2022. Everything going well and people were great THEN. However, I had a Dental appointment on January 20, 2023, for what I thought was for my upper dentures... wrong just a checkup. They told me I must have gotten confused about this appointment, but I explained how can I be confused of something that was not told to me? To be confused I had to be told something in the beginning! Well, no answer to that. That was the start of a never-ending disappointment, headaches, pain and lost days of work! So, my next appointment was March 31, 2023, to start the process of making my permanent dentures. On this day they did the composite for them. I kept telling them my mouth was hurting even during this process, but they stated I was healing still, okay very possible after all I had post... right!? I left that day and was told my "appliance" aka "dentures" would take 2-3 turn around. They called to confirm appointment on April 21, 2023, and I explained when I checked in for appointment I was still in pain and had been for 3 weeks and get this... my "appliance" was not in, and they didn't know where it was at, WTH?. No calls to re-schedule appointment, just "OH Sorry" but they can see what is giving me the pain. So, it was discovered the composite they used at previous appointment was pushed up and left to harden around EACH POST IN MY GUM! They had to de-bur by gums to get that all out. Stiches and pain again about three weeks later... the result of this, they had to remove all 4 posts in my mouth and then ADDED 5 new ones and the kicker of course was it had to heal once again! That is like SO MUCH PAIN just to start all over AGAIN! I even went to the dental office to complain, and I couldn't voice my concerns to the dentist, but I did in the front after that and told them I want to deal with the Oral surgeon from here on out. Well, that did happen, but the office personnel of Aspen Dental in Sherman Texas try to be nice, but they come across as fake and condescending and only there for a paycheck. They even broke my lower partial when doing an adjustment and was like oh well I guess we will have to send off for another one — Free of Charge! Hell, yes it will be FREE of CHARGE YOU BROKE IT! But by God they have to get payment for treatment plan up front (before they do composite for the permanent dentures and then the services sucks! On June 14th, July 24th, and July 31st all follow ups and the 31st was to do composite again for my uppers. All good, they made me an appointment for Monday, August 21, 2023, at 9:15 for me to get the dentures. I did not get a phone call or email to confirm appointment, so I tried all day on Friday, August 18, 2023, to do so to no avail. When I called customer service, they stated I didn't have an appointment on the books! But I have an appointment reminder (card) that says I do, and this isn't the first time this happened. How hard is it for them just have common courtesy or let me know either that the dentures and/or doctor can't make this appointment... something because not only have I missed a lot of work for this but now this is beyond ridiculously! This appointment was to be for my permanent upper dentures, and this is now 10-MONTHS and 3 DAYS from starting this journey and I still can't see the light. I kind of want to sue them for pain and suffering. I never felt or thought like this before, always thought karma is a, well you know. Shame on them for not doing better for the people that come for their help and you [censored] on them, and you seem incompetent! Even when I go in that office, I can see on their faces who got the short straw to see me or even apologetic for them to do adjustments on my partial, but it's their job! How about giving at least half of my money back for this incompetence!

Desired outcome: Compensation for loss of work, extra pain and suffering 10 months and 3 days later and still it is not finished! Want refund!

Aspen Dental Swallowed a unstable crown only had a year and a lil change

Subject: Extremely Dissatisfied with Aspen Dental's Crown Work I swallowed my crown while sleep

I am writing to express my utmost disappointment and frustration with the dental crown work that was performed on my front right tooth at your Gastonia, NC location. The entire experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, leaving me in emotional distress and anxiety.

To begin with, the crown that was initially placed on my tooth came off unexpectedly, and I am concerned that I must have accidentally swallowed it while I was sleeping. It’s nowhere in the bed or floor. This is an unacceptable outcome that highlights the poor quality of work and lack of proper cementing during the procedure. Not only did the crown come loose, and confirmed by another dental office in Lake Wylie Weeks before but I also observed that it was not properly fitted and spoke on it which upset the dentist that was there before he moved to another aspen dental and got his own building to run. I also stated that it did not match the color of my adjacent teeth in which he said I should take that front tooth next to him out and get a fake one so they would match perfectly together as if this was not a touchy subject because the took came out due to being hit in my mouth in a domestic violence incident with and ex-boyfriend. 🥵

Again Upon discovering this issue, I visited a different dentist in Lake Wylie because wen I went on the website for and emergency appointment aspen was months out. The other dentist in lake Wylie who X-rays and confirmed that the crown work done by Aspen Dental was subpar. I was informed that the best course of action was to return to Aspen Dental to have the work redone properly so that it did not have to be paid for again. However, the communication with their office has been incredibly frustrating and nil. After several attempts at calling to getting ntn but a robot I drove to the Gastonia, NC location in my jeep to exercise my concerns in futility and human form as I had been met with unanswered calls and a lack of responsiveness.

My recent attempt to visit their office in person further escalated my dissatisfaction. Despite arriving during operational hours, I was informed that the secretary had left early for the day since it was Friday, leaving only the manager at the front desk. I was told that the manager would be unavailable to see me for at least an hour by the manager. This level of disregard for their customers' time and comfort is simply unacceptable I drove and hour! I left my name and number on a sticky note and she promised after I showed her my mouth that she would get back with me today. I am wearing a mask to hide the hideous look of my mouth.

I must also note that while waiting, I overheard complaints from other patients in the office who were experiencing significant delays and discomfort of waiting almost 4 hours for the person they brought there and was still back in the back. Aspen is unprofessional and has a 1.3 rating. I wish I would have known that before. It is also disheartening to hear of elderly patients enduring hours of discomfort due to the inefficiency of their operation lord knows the chairs feel like ur sitting on a straight back brick!

Additionally, AGAIN I recall the dentist who now has his own ASPEN DENTAL (god bless it) with the earlier encounter with him suggesting-and outrageous and unprofessional idea of extracting my healthy natural tooth to replace it with a fake one, saying that was the only way to make the front two match all to maximize financial gain. How do y’all sleep at night bilking people? This blatant disregard for my well-being and trust only further eroded my confidence in your services.

At this point, I am left with no choice but to seek a resolution to this matter that is fair and satisfactory. I demand either a full refund of the charges incurred for the crown procedure or a complete reevaluation and redoing of the crown work but in another office of my choice, so that this time I’ll be ensuring that it is done to the highest standard. And next time they listen to my concerns when I say it feels funny it’s not shaped right, it doesn’t feel right in my mouth only to be ignored and shown he was getting aggravated etc.

If this issue cannot be resolved amicably and promptly, I will have no option but to explore legal avenues to ensure my rights as a consumer are protected. And also emotional monetary compensation. This situation has caused me immense stress and negatively impacted my daily life I am wearing a white cloth over my face as we speak and my words are not coming out properly. I wouldn’t do a dog like this!

I hope now since I’ve had to take a different approach I will hear from someone at your earliest convenience which I still highly doubt but it’s wishful thinking. You can contact me directly at +[protected] or via email at [[protected]@gmail.com and I sincerely hope that we can reach a resolution that rectifies this situation and restores my faith in your establishment.

Sincerely,

[Lavonne Hanna ]

Desired outcome: Stated above

Aspen Dental Refund for work never done

I’ve been trying to get my money back for work that was never done. For the first two months, I was told the “system was down” and there was nothing they could do until the systems were back up. Now that the “systems are back up”, I’m still getting the runaround as I’ve called 3 times and each time I’m told it takes 7-10 days, days go by, make another call, same runaround.

Also not thrilled with their work, will not be going back.

Desired outcome: Would like my money back for work that was never done.

Aspen Dental Customer Service verifying insurance

I have been trying to get an appointment with Aspen Dental for 6 weeks; I make an appointment and they cancel it. I have Aetna HMO but my dental plan is a PPO (which they accept). I have even sent copies of the front and back of my card and they are tell me when they call that Aetna is not a PPO plan. So I call Aetna, they verify it is a PPO plan and offer to contact Aspen dental while I am on hold. Two Aetna Representatives have told me that they gave them the information and Aspen says, no. I have had to have a front tooth replaced 2 years ago, and the dentist that did the procedure is no longer in the area. It is infected, loose, and quite painful, and I would like to be seen before the infection goes into my blood stream! This can be fatal! No one is helping me! This is the only dentist near me that accepts my insurance!

Desired outcome: I would like an appointment with a dentist or oral surgeon.

Aspen Dental Appointment for teeth cleaning

They hygienist Kayla cleaned my teeth 5 months ago. I was scheduled for a cleaning today and was told I had to pay $92.00 before I could be seen for a deep clean. I refused and asked to speak with the hygienist. Kayla would not come put to speak

With me. I left work for this appointment and you all demonstrated very poor communication. If your company is trying to make extra money over what insurance is paying you, you are wrong! I will

Move my entire family from Aspen. Then Kayla

wanted me to pay $47.00! What is going on there? I called Delta Dental and this behavior is inappropriate. How are you quoting prices when you have keen my teeth in 6 months? It’s terrible if you think people are going to keep

Coming there and you want to offer financing.

Aspen Dental Product defective, overcharges, refunds not received, billing incorrect.

COMPLAINT FOR CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT - Janie S Neese Boxxe

I first went to Aspen Dental in Hinesville Georgia on March 28, 2023. The first visit evaluation and x-ray were free. I went to them to see about a new upper dental plate and a partial lower.

After being seen by the dentist, she said they would have to evaluate my lower 11 teeth and gums for necessary cleaning. I needed one broken tooth extracted. Then said I would need Invisalign to straighten my 10 bottom teeth since I had a small gap on one side. They would then do the bottom partial.

Now the Billing Manager comes in. She shows me on the patient's computer screen that the total plan will be over $ 8,000.00. I ask could she please give me a detail as to how much each of these would cost. She said after my asking several times for a breakdown that she could not print out a detail until I had agreed to the plan. I said I cannot afford all of this right now so please tell me what each thing cost. She said I'd have to talk to the Dentist again. After speaking with the Dentist (had to drag it out of her) I decided to not get the Invisalign (what does a 71 yr old lady care about a small gap in my bottom teeth) and hold off on the lower plate until next year.

The bottom line was Diagnostic was $ 116.00 (even though this was free it was showing totals in the plan) deep cleaning was $1,575.00 plus 3mo follow-up $251. Upper dental plate $1589.00, tooth extraction $343.00. Total $ 3,874.00

After the "estimated" Insurance discount of $1197.00 and the "estimated" amount my insurance would pay was $ 638.00 (they did not call them to find out what it would pay) I had to pay them upfront $ 2,039.00 which I put on my Care Credit card.

I did not think I needed the cleaning on 10 teeth but I did go to the appointment and get it done and they extracted the broken tooth. Took all of about 15 minutes. Next visit I got fitted for the dental plate and picked it up a few days later 04/03. Within a few weeks, my upper plate had broken in half when I took a bite of a ham sandwich. (not bone in it) Went back and the 3D printed me a new plate. On 04/26 I called them because I had checked my insurance to see if everything had been turned in and paid.

On 04/26 I called them because I had checked my insurance to see if everything had been turned in and paid. There I found that what the insurance paid was $362.00 more than the "estimate" and the insurance discount was $309.00 more than the estimate. Also, when the plan was totaled the math was wrong on the plan and the discount was $ 118.00 lower than the correct math total. They also filed a claim with my insurance for the free exam and x-rays and my insurance paid it. (So much for free). They said they would have billing look into it and send a refund to my Care Credit card.

After another few weeks, the dental plate started being uncomfortable. Hard to bite and hurt when eating. Took it back and they found it had broken in two places this time. They made me a new 3D plate. Each time I went back I met with the Billing Manager and was told they were looking at my account and would issue a refund. I even met with the District Manager twice. They kept putting me off and said it had to be done through the corp. office. On July 17th I took my upper plate back again because the material of the plate portion was separating from the teeth of the plate. They refused to replace the plate and said they would refund my money and refund the insurance company.

From that point forward it was always a software problem and a new program not working, etc. On 08/04 I called my insurance and they called Aspen Dental insurance department (3-way call with me) they said my account showed that I had a credit balance due to me of $ 1,695.50 and a credit balance due to the insurance company for $ 382.00 but it had not been sent yet. Their systems were not in full working order. Then I was where there was a security hack. I did get the number for the Aspen Dental Corporate Customer Service (finally). On 08/17 I made my complaint and still got the same answer "Our system is not in full working order so give us a little longer to process the refund". STILL WAITING, SO much for "Peace of Mind promise".

Desired outcome: I would like the full refund owed to me and I should be paid for the time and stress and doing without the dental work I need because of waiting for their refund. These people are merciless.

Aspen Dental False teeth fit

I purchased a complete upper plate in 2022, that required removal of 4 teeth and a temporary plate to use until gum shrinkage. After 6 months a permanent plate was provided with a hard liner to be done if needed. On Aug 10, 2023 I had the hard reline completed. The next morning when putting the plate in my mouth there was sore spot. I put Oral jell on the spot and put the teeth in. I have had to repeat using the oral jell daily for a week hoping the plate would fit into my mouth better. Today Aug 17 I contacted Aspen Dental in Oneonta and explained I had a very sore spot where the plate was rubbing or putting pressure in my mouth making it very sore where oral jell wasn't helping. I called Aspen Oneonta and explained what was happening and I was told they couldn't see me until Aug 30th. I should demand my money back, I have a plate that I cannot use and Aspen tells me to come back in 2 weeks.

Desired outcome: I would like to have my teeth fixed, NOW
