How to Remain Gorgeous and Not Go Broke

How to Remain Gorgeous and Not Go BrokeThey say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but some of the beholden still need to spend a lot of money to look good and feel good about themselves. Purchasing health and beauty products can get fairly expensive and it can also be quite overwhelming with the advent of technologically advanced potions and formulas that all promise to do magic on your bodies and minds, while doing severe damage to our bank accounts.

Here are a few ways you can shave off some cost on your health and beauty products:

Hair Maintenance

There can be so much money saved on hair maintenance. First of all, stop spending top dollar for a wash and a trim at the local salon. Instead, check out the local beauty school, there the cost will be minimal and the attention you receive will reach maximum. A student who is able to give haircuts has already been proven to know what they are doing at this point in their education. Their advisors will be standing by for guidance. Don't think of the students as incapable kids, consider the fact that in just a short period of time, these are the stylists that will be charging you an arm and a leg at the pricey salon.

Massages

Just like with beauty school students, there are also student masseuse classes that can treat you to an all-over body massage for a significantly reduced cost from the more expensive spa. While the students are still learning their technique, they are already experienced enough to perform the basics in a safe manor. Plus, you may have the advantage of getting in on the ground floor of the students good graces so that when they move to the pricey spa or open their own business, they may be willing to give you discount services for your loyalty.

No Repeating

Most shampoo and conditioner bottles instruct you to rinse then repeat. Forget that notion. All you need is a nickel-sized amount of each to do the job. You'll save a lot of money by not having to restock every two weeks. Use only want you need. Anything more is just a big waste.

Eyewear

While your optometrist may be wont to disagree, you do not have an obligation to buy your glasses or contacts from their office. It is perfectly legal to ask for your prescription and order your contacts or glasses from other sources, including online.

Wash and Wear Only

You can save a ton of money on dry cleaning each month by never buying clothing that requires it. Instead, shop for your clothing with a steadfast rule to not purchase anything that states dry-clean only in the care label. Some clothing manufactures are reducing the amount of items that require dry-cleaning due to the environmental concerns the process involves so there may be many items you need that used to be dry clean only but are not washable. It also may not be as cost-effective as you think to purchase the home dry-cleaning kits they advertise on television. The jury is still out on whether or not they work well and kits and refills alone can cost you a lot of cash.
